─ nothing can hurt me ─
Tomas let out a chuckle at Diego's words as he placed his hand on his chest, mainly where his heart was. "Oh, I know. Trust me, I'll cherish this forever." He promised with the same smile still on his lips. "I feel like I should rave about this on social media, just to show everyone that I managed to beat Justin Bieber when it comes to your love." Tomas joked. "He's got nothing on me." Tomas said in feigned cockiness, his smile screaming with over-confidence. He let out a chuckle at Diego's next words before he nodded his head in agreement. "Always." He said with a grin tugging at his lips.
Tomas nodded his head a few times. "Of course, babe. We'll drop by to see them whenever you'd like." Tomas assured his boyfriend with a gentle smile tugging at the corners of his lips. He would make sure to visit Diego's family whenever Diego wanted, knowing that they meant a lot to Diego and Tomas really appreciated them, too. After all, how could he not? They were a great family. They always made Tomas feel included and Toni had gone out of his way to tell him something that not many people know. He helped Tomas realize so many things.
Tomas could already tell that pizza was something that they all loved and it made him smile as he looked between all of them, staying quiet for the most part but that's not because he felt left out, mainly because he was feeling content and at ease, not at all pressured to keep a conversation going. That's also another thing that he liked about the Alvarez family.
"Yup. Might take us longer because I do have a lot of stuff. Including my exercise bike." Tomas was someone who loved working out and because of this, he has a lot of work out equipment in his apartment. Tomas' expression softened at Diego's words. "I feel the same way, babe." He said in a sincere voice, his eyes focused on his boyfriend as he let his hand rest on Diego's cheek for a moment before withdrawing his hand, his smile still present on his lips.
"Oh, yeah, can't wait until its empty because we have ... zero uses for it." Ethan jokingly agreed along with Diego before he shook his head. "Honestly, kiddo, it's gonna feel empty without you." Ethan spoke up after a moment before he held his hands up in mock surrender. "But, I'm not cruel to stand in the way of your happiness and if moving with Tommy makes you happy, then I support you wholeheartedly." Ethan added a moment later because he didn't want the mood to turn sour by voicing his sadness about seeing Diego go.
"You guys are more than welcome to drop by whenever you'd like. You guys know the address, right? No prior invitation needed, really. You're family, after all." Tomas spoke up, his smile present on his lips. "And Diego was just saying that we're gonna have to visit, so we're definitely going to come over, too." Tomas' attention drifted to Diego, offering him a small smile.

“So you should,” Diego chuckled as Tommy said that he would cherish being picked over Justin Bieber forever. “I think you can do better than that, how about you go shout it from the rooftop?” he asked, an amused smile forming on his face as he looked over at his boyfriend. Truth be told there really wasn’t any competition as far as Diego was concerned and that was never going to change. Diego knew that Tommy was the only one for him, they had been through so much together already between having to identify a body at the morgue that wasn’t Teo’s and everything that had happened with Diego’s ex but they had come through it the other side and considering how close they had come to not being able to have a future together at all, Diego knew that he wanted to make the most of the chance they had now. “Don’t go letting it go to your head babe,” Diego teased as Tommy said that Justin Bieber had nothing on him. As Tommy agreed that he kept him grounded, Diego felt a smile touch his lips. “I wouldn’t have it any other way,” he assured him. “I’d like that,” Diego admitted. He knew that he would get to see Toni and Ethan while they were at work together but he wouldn’t have that same chance with the kids and the truth was that he had grown so used to seeing them every day that he knew that he was going to miss them. He hadn’t planned on staying as long as he had done but they had never made him feel like a burden and he was truly grateful for that. They meant the world to Diego and he knew how much they liked Tommy so it would mean that they got the best of both worlds. “You definitely have a lot more stuff than I do,” Diego grinned. He knew that it was only natural considering that Tommy had lived on his own for so long whereas Diego had had to leave most of his belongings when he left town to move to Mystic Falls but in time he knew that he would end up with more as well. “We’re going to have two exercise bikes to move now because we’ve got mine as well,” he added with a laugh. That was the most awkward thing he owned to move, that was for sure. Diego knew that they were alike in that respect, they both liked to keep active and that wasn’t going to change. As Tommy said that he felt the same Diego’s smile returned and he leaned into the touch as Tommy’s hand rested against his cheek. “I love you,” he breathed, his heart skipping a beat as his eyes met Tommy’s. It had taken Diego a while to say those words out loud but the moment he had it was like the floodgates had been opened and he knew that he would never get tired of saying them. As Ethan said that they had zero uses for his room, Diego’s expression softened. “I know you’ll find a use for it. At least now you’ll have a room for when you decide the time is right to adopt.” He had always felt like he was standing in their way with that but they wouldn’t have to worry about that any longer and Diego hoped they would take the chance when they were ready. “It does. We want to build a home together like the one you have here and I know we haven’t found a house we want to buy yet but at least we’ll be living together and I’d never turn down the chance to wake up next to Tommy every morning,” Diego admitted. He had been spending most nights at Tommy’s place again anyway but there were still nights when he’d ended up staying at the house and now they would at least be together in one place. “It’s going to be strange not living here with you guys but we’re ready for this,” he added before giving Tommy’s hand a gentle squeeze. “It feels right.” Hearing Tommy’s voice as he spoke was enough to bring a smile to Diego’s lips. “That’s right, you’re welcome to come over at any time and we’ll come here to see you as well so it’ll be like nothing has really changed that much.” It definitely would have changed but how close he was to his family definitely wasn’t going to change. ─ nothing can hurt me ─ Tomas let out a soft gasp at Diego's words as if his words had made something click in his head. "You're absolutely right, babe. Our apartment complex has a rooftop so this is gonna work pretty well. I'll be all over the news. Crazy rooftop man lets the whole world know that his boyfriend chose him over Justin Bieber." Tomas stretched his hands as if he could envision the headline of the news already. "I'm trying, but it's kinda hard not to." Tomas said with a teasing smile forming on his lips not long after. "Me neither, babe."
Tomas knew that they were going to make it a habit of theirs to visit the Alvarez whenever they had the time to do so and theoretically they could always see each other at work whenever Tomas stops by at the station to eat something with Diego and rest of his co-workers, but he knew it wouldn't be the same thing. So, of course he'd be more than willing to drive Diego their residence. He'd be more than willing to let him have the day with the family on his own or accompany him. He'd never argue with either choice, really because he knew how important family was. One moment with them could easily make you forget all about your worries. His sister made him feel the same way, too. He'd made sure to make things right with her and now they were back on talking terms again.
"Oh, babe, you aren't ready for the amount of stuff that I have... And to tell you the truth? Neither am I." Tomas joked with a smile on his lips. "Oh, you know, you're right. I could give my bike to my sister, really. I'm not hung up on it since we already have one. Unless I can bring mine and we can work out together." Tomas said with a quick shrug of his shoulders following. Truth be told, he was fine with either choice, really. "Oh, and I forgot that I kinda have my punching bag, too." Tomas had many ways to let off steam and work out on his days off and it helped a lot, actually. "I love you too."
Ethan released a soft sigh, his lips stretching into a gentle smile. "You have a point, but I just also want you to know that the reason we haven't taken that step yet is because we were waiting for the right time. Not because you were occupying the room. We would have figured something out if we had decided to adopt while you were living with us, bud." Ethan assured him with the same smile still locked on his lips. As Tomas listened to the conversation, he could tell just how much they cared for Diego and it was enough to put a smile on his lips.
He listened to Diego as he explained that he wanted to have a life like they one that they have and it was enough to make his expression soften. He wanted exactly the same thing, too. He'd been waiting for this moment for far too long now and he was happy that they could experience that. Sure, they're gonna be moving again once they find the house but honestly, he doesn't care. Just as long as they're together. "I'm happy for you. You deserve this, kiddo." Ethan's voice soon made itself known again as he spoke with visible sincerity in the tone of his voice. "So do you, Tommy."
When Ethan directed the sentence toward him too, his lips stretched into a soft smile. "Thank you, Ethan." Tomas said with a quick appreciative nod of his head following. "Yup. That's a promise." He knew how important the family was to Diego and he'd make sure to keep the bond strong.

It still felt a little surreal that this day had finally come. Diego and Tommy had talked about getting a place together so much before they broke up and they had spent ages looking for the perfect place for them to live. What they hadn’t talked about was moving in together in the interim but now they were doing exactly that and Diego could was so excited about it. He knew that it wouldn’t be quite the same as the two of them having their own place but that didn’t matter to him, they would still be living together and he would still get to wake up next to Tommy every morning and that was all he wanted. “Perfect. I’ll keep a copy of the article and we’ll frame it,” he chuckled before shaking his head in amusement as Tommy said that it was hard not to let it go to his head. “You know you’re the only one for me, babe,” Diego said, a smile touching his lips as he leaned forward and kissed Tommy gently. He hadn’t thought that he would end up feeling this way about Tommy when they spent their first night together so it had surprised him the following morning when Tommy had said that he’d wanted to start something more between them. It had taken Diego a while to come to terms with how he felt about Tommy but now he knew that it was one of the best things that he had ever done. The attraction had been there right from the start and even now Diego couldn’t help but feel like they had been drawn together somehow and he knew that he wouldn’t have it any other way. He knew that he had hit the jackpot with Tommy and he really wasn’t afraid to admit that now. “We’ll deal with it together, it’ll be fine,” Diego assured his boyfriend with a smile. He had already found that the packing went a lot quicker with Tommy’s help and Diego knew that he wouldn’t hesitate in helping Tommy to pack his things when the time came. Tommy’s next words were enough to make Diego’s expression turn thoughtful for a moment. “I like the idea of us working out together,” he admitted. Truth be told any excuse to spend time with Tommy was a welcome one as far as Diego was concerned and now they were going to have nothing but time together so the truth was that he really couldn’t wait. “I nearly forgot about that. It’s fine, we’ll make room for everything,” Diego assured him, unable to stop his smile from returning as Tommy said that he loved him too. “Ethan’s right, we wanted to make sure the girls were going to be alright before adopting again so it doesn’t have anything to do with it being your room,” Toni assured him and those words were enough to have Diego nodding. “I know, don’t worry. I just want you all to be happy,” Diego said gently. They really did mean the world to him and they had done so much more for him during his time living with them than they would ever know. When he arrived in Mystic Falls he was broken, he had been doing his best to keep it all together but the truth was that what had happened with his ex had really weighed down on him. They had given him a safe space to regroup after that and they had listened whenever he had needed someone to talk to. Ethan had also helped him figure out how he felt about Tommy and realise that he would regret it if he didn’t give things between them a shot so Diego knew that his life would have looked very different if they hadn’t let him move in with them. “Thank you. I’ve found my home,” Diego said, a smile touching his lips as he turned to look at Tommy. Diego knew that it really didn’t matter where they ended up as long as they were together but they both had their families to think about as well so Diego knew that they weren’t going to end up going too far when the time came to move to a house. His home was wherever Tommy was but Mystic Falls was where their families had decided to make their home so that was where the two of them belonged too. Hearing the doorbell ring, Diego gave Tommy’s hand a gentle squeeze. “That will be the pizza, I’ll get it,” he said, grabbing his wallet from the side and making his way through to the front of the house. Paying for the food, he headed back inside with the pizza boxes and set them down on the kitchen counter. “I hope you’re all hungry, there’s plenty to go around.”TOMAS SILVA

─ nothing can hurt me ─ Tomas let out a chuckle at Diego's words as if he could just imagine Diego keeping a cut-out of the headline and cherishing it for the future. He didn't have a doubt in his mind that he was it for Diego. The younger had told him that many times and of course he believed it each time because Diego was it for him, too. He can't imagine ever being with anyone else. Diego entered his life and quickly became an important person to him even though their relationship originally started as mutually beneficial in the bedroom, it quickly festered and became something else for Tomas. He knew that Diego was coming out of a rough break-up and he had told him back then so many times that he was willing to wait out for him even if it took him years to fully heal from what his ex had done to him. Tomas was an understanding person by nature and of course that displayed itself quite visibly back then as he had absolutely no qualms with waiting for Diego to be ready for something a little more serious than just fleeting hook-ups. It was a big step and because of that, he never pushed Diego or asked him again and again. Instead, he just waited and looking at them now, he was really happy that he'd waited because now they were planning to move into his apartment and then once they locate their perfect home, they would move and live there, making it their forever home.
Truth be told, he wasn't too worried about the moving process because even if it's not easy, it will pass, like everything else. "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it, it's okay." Tomas said with a half-smile tugging at the corners of his lips. It would be fruitless to worry about that now when they haven't even found the house yet. For now, he pushed it all to the side and instead focused on the current moment.
Tomas felt a small smile form on his lips as he listened to the exchange. His attention drifted to Ethan who nodded his head in agreement with Toni. "We are happy, kiddo. If anything, we've been happier since you chose to stay with us." Ethan added a moment later as he lifted his drink to his lips to take a quick sip. Tomas mimicked him by taking a sip from his own drink. Tomas' eyes met Diego's when he said that he'd found his home, his lips stretching into an immediate smile. He'd easily found his home, too. Diego was everything to him and he'd be a fool to let go of him again. He snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the doorbell. It didn't take long for him to realize that it was the pizza delivery.
He watched as Diego got up and got his wallet to go answer the door, his hand still warm even after Diego had taken his hand away. In the meantime, he busied himself with his drink until Diego came back with the boxes of pizza. His stomach nearly grumbled again from the sight alone as he reached out to help Diego open up the pizza. He took it upon himself to serve them slices of pizza each before he took a slice and sat back down next to Diego, enjoying the pizza which tasted a lot better because he was enjoying it with Diego and his family.
"Man, this is really good." Ethan said as he placed his plate down, feeling full after having a few slices. Tomas nodded his head in agreement shortly after because just like Ethan had said, the pizza was really delicious and it definitely hit the spot for Tomas. "It really is." Tomas agreed as he set his own plate down, full as well. "Excuse me for a second. I'll go and wash my hands real quick." Before doing so, he grabbed his empty plate to go wash it but Ethan insisted that he leaves the plate only for Tomas to persist on washing it too until Ethan relented with a chuckle. Tomas excused himself a moment after putting away the clean plate to head into the bathroom to wash his hands and mouth before drying his hands and lips then made his way out and back to Diego, finding his seat next to him, his hand resting on his boyfriend's thigh. "Eat up, babe. You've been working hard." Tomas reached over to grab Diego another slice with the help of the knife that Ethan had brought for them to cleanly cut the slices with to prop it on his plate. "Need something to drink?" The offer was to Diego at first before he quickly remembered that he was in the company of Diego's family and turned the offer to them, too. Ethan quickly lifted his half-full beer to show that he still had ways to go before getting another one, earning a nod from Tomas before his attention shifted between Toni and Diego to see if they wanted another drink.

It was so good being able to joke around with Tommy like this. It had been agony seeing him when they responded to the same call after they broke up and it had felt the same when their teams had celebrated together at the Grill. Diego had known that he hadn’t had to play along when he had realised that Tommy’s colleagues hadn’t known that they had broken up but he honestly had believed that there was a reason why Tommy hadn’t told them and even after the guy had broken his heart Diego hadn’t wanted to make things awkward between them. It wasn’t his job to protect Tommy at that point but Tommy had wanted to protect him just as much and Diego was so glad that whatever his brother and Tommy had discussed that night had changed things. It had only been about a week since that night but being back together with Tommy was like being home once more. Diego knew that he had found the person that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with and he knew what it was like to have to live without Tommy now so he knew that the last thing he wanted was to end up going through that again. Diego had been in a lot of relationships before but he had never felt this way about any of his exes and he knew that he wasn’t going to feel this way about anyone else again. Tommy was it for him and Diego knew that was never going to change. “I know we will, I can’t wait,” Diego admitted. It felt so surreal to think that he and Tommy were moving in together today but they were and when they found the perfect house to make their home then they would be moving again. Diego knew that it might have been easier for them to just stay living as they were and only move once but the truth was that he didn’t want to spend another day not living with Tommy so he was glad that Tommy had suggested it. “Same here. Living here with you guys gave me time to heal and you helped me figure out a lot of things about myself. I wouldn’t be who I am without you.” His parents had understandably been shocked when he came out to them but they had come around in the end. When Diego arrived in Mystic Falls he was still trying to come to terms with that admission and he had also been nursing a broken heart. He hadn’t had much of a plan when he got there, he’d lined up an interview at the local firehouse and he’d had a few apartments he was going to look at, but other than that he really hadn’t known what he wanted to do with his life or even who he really was. He hadn’t been met with any judgement from Toni and Ethan, only acceptance and unconditional love and he was so grateful to them for that. Between the two of them and Tommy they had helped him move on and now he was ready to start the next chapter of his life without any fear of what was to come because he knew that he would always have them no matter what. Returning with the pizza, Diego felt a smile touch his lips as Tommy took it upon himself to serve them all slices of pizza. “Thanks babe,” he said, offering his boyfriend a smile and kissing his cheek gently before tucking into his first slice. “It is. It’s the best pizza I’ve ever had,” he nodded, a smile touching his lips as Toni agreed as well. It definitely beat what was on offer before Diego had moved to Mystic Falls, that was for sure. Watching the exchange between Tommy and Ethan as he took another bite of pizza, Diego couldn’t help but laugh when Tommy went ahead and washed the place up anyway. “Sorry Ethan, you were never going to win that one,” he chuckled, knowing just how stubborn Tommy could be when he wanted to be. It wasn’t long before Tommy returned and Diego’s smile returned as Tommy’s hand rested on his thigh. Even a small point of contact like that was enough to make warmth spread within him and his expression softened as Tommy told him to eat up because he’d been working hard before piling another slice onto his plate. “If I didn’t know any better I’d think you were trying to fatten me up,” he teased, his expression turning playful for a moment before he took another bite. As Tommy asked if he needed something to drink, Diego shook his head. “No I’m good, thanks babe,” he assured him, finishing his pizza as Toni said he was good as well and lifted his beer to his lips to take another sip. Once they were done, Toni cleared everything away before returning to his seat next to Ethan and taking his husband’s hand in his. “So how’s the packing going?” Toni asked, knowing just how excited the two of them were to get going. “Pretty well actually, it shouldn’t take us too much longer,” Diego admitted. “Speaking of, shall we get back to it baby?” he asked Tommy, knowing that the sooner they did the sooner it would all be done. ─ nothing can hurt me ─ Tomas can't wait either. The thought alone of Diego moving in with him was more than enough to put a smile on his lips as his heart fluttered. While the whole packing process may seem a little exhausting, he knew it would be rewarding in the end. After all, how could it be anything less when he knew that each morning before work or even on his days off, he'll be able to wake up and see Diego right there next to him. Tomas considered that a huge win, honestly.
"We'll always be here for you." Ethan was really glad that their presence had helped heal Diego's wounded heart and honestly, having Diego around felt natural, like he had always been there with them in the house. As much as he hated goodbyes, he knew that it was inevitable. What he and Tomas had was pretty serious and it was more than enough to put a smile on his lips. He knew that Diego will be safe with Tomas.
Tomas could feel his cheek tingling in the wake of Diego's kiss. It was a sweet gesture that made his heart flutter. Honestly, he had a feeling that the gesture will always make his heart tingle, no matter how long they've been dating for. "You're welcome." Tomas replied with a smile resting on his lips. He nodded his head in agreement with Diego on that one because he was a big fan of it, too. There was just something about pizza that made him feel so content and happy. "Yeah, I got the same feeling." Ethan said with a chuckle falling from his lips. He could sense that Tomas was the stubborn type from a mile away. Tomas' lips stretched into a smile too as he shrugged his shoulders, looking all too happy to have won that 'argument'. He excused himself not long after to wash his hands and then came back, settling down next to his boyfriend once more.
He let out a soft gasp as if Diego had just accused him. "Me? Never." Tomas' lips stretched into a smile almost immediately. "Just wanna make sure you eat well, that's all." Tomas added with the same smile on his lips. Soon came his offer to bring them any drinks just in case they'd like one and they soon let him know that they were all good which made a small smile form on his lips. A part of him wanted to get up and take over the whole cleaning process but Antonio was pretty much done before he could say anything and so he leaned back on his seat instead and relented. He watched as Antonio came back and settled next to Ethan. Ethan, on the other hand, was more than happy to lace his fingers with Antonio's, holding it as Antonio opened up a line of conversation. Tomas lifted his drink up to his lips as Diego answered the question, nodding his head in agreement because it was definitely going pretty well. Then, Diego directed a question at him which made him straighten up on his seat. "Yeah, let's get back to it." Tomas pushed himself up from his seat. "Just let me know if you guys ever need anything. Coffee, dessert, you name it." Ethan offered with the same smile still on his lips.
"Of course. Thank you." And with that, their journey upstairs began once more so that they could work on packing more of Diego's things.

Diego couldn’t believe that this was actually happening. Being in love was something that had never worked out for him, he had fallen for his ex and the guy had almost killed him when he had found out that Diego was a dragon. He hadn’t been looking for love at all when Tommy had come along but Tommy had worked his way into Diego’s heart and now he knew what it was like to be without him, Diego knew that he didn’t want to go through that again. Moving in with a partner was something that he had never done before and if he was honest it was something that he had thought was never going to happen but Tommy never ceased to amaze him and now they were going to be starting the next chapter of their lives together. Soon enough Diego knew that they would find a house they wanted to make their home but until then Tommy’s apartment would be their home and Diego couldn’t wait to wake up next to his boyfriend every morning. “That’s right. You’re family, you both are,” Toni agreed and Diego felt a smile touch his lips. He knew that he was lucky to have them and Diego knew that he didn’t want how close they were to change now that he was moving out. There was an age gap between him and Toni and Toni had already been out of the house and living his own life for decades when Diego was born but his brother had always looked out for him and Diego knew that he was lucky in that respect. Living with them was only meant to be temporary but it had turned into a more permanent arrangement and Diego was a little sad to be moving out now but it also felt right. The pizza really was amazing and Diego could see that the others thought the same so he was glad that he had suggested it. He wasn’t at all surprised when Tommy insisted on washing up his plate when he was done and Diego couldn’t help but smile at Ethan’s words. “I learned not to fight him on things like that pretty quickly,” he chuckled, sending a playful smile in his brother’s direction. Diego knew that it all came from a good place, Tommy liked looking after people and that was something that Diego loved about him. “Mhmm, sure,” Diego teased, his expression turning playful as he looked over at Tommy. “I know, I appreciate it babe,” he said gently. Tommy always tried to look out for him and Diego knew that he wouldn’t want it any other way. He loved Tommy and he knew that it was just Tommy’s way of taking care of him. When they were done Toni tidied everything away before returning and sitting down next to Ethan once more. Diego couldn’t stop a smile from forming on his face at the way that Ethan laced their fingers together. It was clear how in love the two of them were and Diego was so glad that they had found each other again. For a long time he had felt a little jealous of what his brother and Ethan had but now he had found the same thing with Tommy and Diego knew that he wasn’t going to let go of that again. Finishing his drink, Diego nodded as Tommy agreed that they should get back to it. “We will, thanks,” Diego nodded as Ethan said to let him know if they needed anything. Heading back upstairs, they resumed packing and sometime later they were done. “The room looks just like it did when I moved in,” Diego admitted, unable to deny that it was a little strange considering that it had been his room for such a long time. “That’s the last of the boxes packed,” he said as he turned to Tommy and wrapped his arms around his boyfriend’s neck. “Thank you for all of your help.”TOMAS SILVA

─ nothing can hurt me ─ Tomas felt a gentle smile tug at the corners of his lips when Antonio included him, as well. "Thank you." He offered with a gentleness hanging onto his tone. He was pretty lucky to have found himself a second family as tight-knit as the Alvarez. He could tell that they unconditionally loved each other without any reservations and cared so much about each other. From the way that Diego often spoke of his family and from what Tomas had seen with his own eyes, he was pretty damn lucky to be included in the picture. Tomas looked over his shoulder with the same innocent smile resting on his lips before he turned his attention back to the dishes to finish them up.
"I've been discovered." Tomas said with a teasing smile resting on his lips acting as if though it had been intention all along to fatten Diego up. He just wanted to make sure that his boyfriend ate well since they will be back to work in a bit, ready to finish packing up the rest of Diego's things. Tomas felt a gentle smile rest on his lips at Diego's next words. "Of course." Tomas added a moment later, his tone still gentle.
Soon after, it was time for them to head on upstairs so that they could finish up packing Diego's things. A while later, they were pretty much done. The room looked a lot more bare now, save for the bed and all the other furniture. But it didn't look lived-in. He turned his attention to his boyfriend with a gentle smile resting on his lips. "Feels weird, huh?" Tomas had felt the same way when he had to move to Mystic Falls. "And just like that, we're all done." Tomas was pretty proud of what they had accomplished. When Diego turned to face him, he was all too happy to turn as well to face him, the same smile still present on his lips. He wrapped his arms around his waist, holding Diego close to him. "You're more than welcome, babe. It was my pleasure to help you." Tomas leaned in to press a kiss on Diego's lips. "If anything, I should be the one thanking you for leaving your family to live with me." Tomas said upon leaning back a little bit to meet Diego's eyes.

It really did mean the world to Diego how much his family thought of Tommy, they had rallied around him after Tommy broke up with him and they had supported him more than Diego had ever expected them to but they had also welcomed Tommy back into the fold with open arms after they got back together. They understood how much Tommy meant to him and the fact that they supported the two of them moving in together just showed that. Diego knew that Tommy had Teo and his parents as well but he was a part of their family too and Diego was glad about that. He had never introduced one of his partners to his family before but then again he had never been with anyone like Tommy before and he had never been in love like this. Tommy was the person he wanted to have a future with so it was important to him that they all get along. “I knew it,” Diego teased, unable to resist the temptation. He knew that wasn’t Tommy’s intention at all, he was just one of those people who enjoyed looking after the people he loved and Diego really did love him for it. They still had some packing left to do and Diego really wasn’t looking forward to it but he knew that he just had to remember that it would be worth it in the end because then he would be living with Tommy and that was what he wanted more than anything right now. It felt like it took them a while to finish packing everything up but once they were done, Diego was surprised at just how empty the room seemed. It had been his for much longer than he had thought it would and he was a little sad to be leaving it but at the same time he was excited to start the next chapter of his life with Tommy. “It really does,” he nodded as Tommy asked if he felt weird. “It’s strange to see it like this but I’m looking forward to being at our place,” he admitted. He knew that it might take a while for him to start thinking of it as their place rather than just Tommy’s but they had been pretty much living together before they broke up and after they got back together anyway so he knew that it wouldn’t change that much. An easy smile formed on Diego’s face as Tommy wrapped his arms around his waist. “I couldn’t have done this without you,” he admitted, his smile widening as he kissed Tommy back. As Tommy said he should be the one thanking him, Diego shook his head. “You don’t need to thank me, I want to live with you,” he assured him gently. “You’re it for me and I don’t want us to waste any more time,” he added as he brought his hand up to rest against Tommy’s cheek before pressing his lips against his once more. “We should probably get going,” he said as he finally pulled back, knowing that there was still more they needed to do. ─ nothing can hurt me ─ Tomas released a soft hum as he looked around them once more. The room looked a lot more bare now. Didn't look lived in like before, it missed Diego's touch to it which only proved to Tomas that they were finally all done with the whole packing process. They still have to unpack once they are back home, but that will be easy. At least, that's what Tomas thought. "Me too, babe." Tomas admitted in a soft tone, all too happy to reveal how much he was looking forward to Diego moving in with him in his apartment before they make the big move. They'd have some time to disconnect at least and just stay with one another until they start packing their things, for the second time in Diego's case but hey, that's okay, and once that time comes, he'll be more than ready for it.
"Ah, so this is why you're dating me, hm? To do all the heavy-lifting?" Tomas teased, feigning hurt for a moment before his lips stretched into a grin. "Always happy to help, babe." Tomas said with a quick nod of his head following.
His expression softened at Diego's next words before he nodded his head. "You're it for me too." Tomas admitted in a soft voice. He kissed Diego back, all too happy to return the gesture. When Diego suggested that they should get going, Tomas nodded his head. 'After you, babe." Tomas carried his share of the boxes to split the amount between them (though he might have sneakily picked the heavier ones for himself) and proceeded to head out of Diego's bedroom with the other. Tomas headed downstairs not long after where he heard the sound of a mug being placed down before Ethan soon made himself known. "You guys are done already?" He sounded a little disappointed, if not sad as he glanced between the two of them. "Yeah... All done." Tomas replied with a sympathetic smile resting on his lips. "That's, uh, that's great. I'm happy for you guys. Seriously." Ethan was more than willing to push his own feelings to the side and look at the brighter side of things. He knew how much Diego wanted this and of course, he won't put a damper on his mood. So even though it hurt to see Diego leave, he knew he'll be a lot happier with Tomas. "Thank you, Ethan." Tomas offered back with a gentle smile on his lips before his attention drifted to Diego. "I've got the boxes. I'll give you a minute." Tomas offered with a gentle smile, figuring that he might need a moment to say goodbye to his family, not forever of course, but still, he figured they might need the privacy to do so. He didn't feel as though he wasn't welcome or anything like that, but still.
"It was great seeing you guys again. Thank you for your hospitality as always. Take care, alright?" Tomas offered with a gentle smile on his lips, giving them a nod in the form of a goodbye before he headed out of the house, multitasking between holding the boxes and opening the door which he managed just fine on his own before he headed out to take care of the boxes.

It felt so strange to think that the house he had shared with his family wasn’t his home any longer but Diego really was looking forward to starting the next chapter of his life with Tommy. He knew that it would have perhaps been easier for them to only move once but he had already learned what it was like to have to live without Tommy and he knew that he didn’t want to go through that again for anything in the world. He had gone back to staying at Tommy’s most nights after they got back together anyway so they were already practically living together so this wasn’t going to be much different. Diego hadn’t returned to Tommy’s to collect his things after they had broken up and now it felt good to be starting the future that they had always talked about. They both already knew they wanted to get married, have kids and all that kind of thing so living together properly even before they found a house that they could make their home was the first step in doing that. Diego had never even come close to living with a partner before, he had always lived on his own but with Tommy it felt right. As he asked if the reason they were dating was so Tommy could do the heavy lifting, Diego let an innocent look cross his face. “Of course it is babe, got to put those muscles of yours to good use,” he said, reaching forward and squeezing Tommy’s bicep gently as if to prove his point. “Thanks babe,” Diego said, his expression softening as Tommy said he was always happy to help. It really did mean a lot to him. Hearing Tommy say that he was it for him too was enough to make Diego’s heart skip a beat and he moved a little closer to Tommy as they kissed. He really had missed the feeling of Tommy’s lips against his own during the time they had been apart and ever since they got back together he had been making sure to cherish every kiss and every touch. Offering Tommy a smile as he indicated for him to go first, Diego grabbed some of the boxes and tucked them under one arm while he carried his exercise bike with his free hand, even happier in that moment than ever for the strength that being a dragon gave him. He could tell that Tommy had gone for the heavier boxes but the truth was that only made Diego love him more. Together they headed downstairs and Diego nodded as Ethan asked if they were done already. “Yeah, we are. It looks so bare up there now,” Diego admitted, not sure he would ever get used to that. Setting the boxes down, his expression softened as Toni joined them and Ethan hesitated slightly before saying he was happy for them. Diego got it, he knew that it was strange but he also knew that they wanted him to be happy and being with Tommy was what made him happy. “Thank you,” he said, his gaze moving between Ethan and his brother and back again. “Thanks babe,” Diego said, offering his boyfriend a smile before turning back to look at Toni and Ethan once more. His smile widened slightly as Tommy spoke again before heading outside, leaving the three of them alone. “Believe it or not I’m really going to miss living with you guys,” he admitted, unable to ignore the slight ache in his chest at the thought. This was the right thing for him though, of that he was certain. “I really am grateful for everything you’ve done for me, you were there for me when I was at my lowest and you helped pull me out of it. I’ll never be able to thank you enough for that,” he said sincerely, his eyes glistening with tears he quickly blinked away. He really was in a bad place when he arrived in town but thanks to them and Tommy he had come out of it the other side. “That’s what brothers are for. We’re really proud of you,” Toni said as he stepped forward and pulled him into a hug, Diego not hesitating for a moment in hugging him back tightly. “We’ve loved having you here but we know this is what you need so we support you, just know that you’ll always be family and we’ll always have your back. We really hope things work out for the two of you but there will always be a home for you here if you need it,” Toni added as he let go and took a step backwards. They would still see each other at work and outside of it, of course, but it wasn’t going to be quite the same and they both knew that. TOMAS SILVA

─ nothing can hurt me ─ Tomas gasped and placed his hand on his heart as if hurt by Diego's words, though it wasn't long before he was smiling once again. It wasn't long before they were both carrying the boxes and the exercise bike and heading on downstairs where Ethan spoke up. His lips formed a gentle smile as he looked between Diego and his family. He remained quiet except for the brief moments where he said something. It just felt like a very tender moment between Diego and his family and he didn't want to interrupt. He excused himself not long after to give Diego the time to talk to his family and he took it upon himself to put the boxes away in the car before he settled in the driver seat where he switched on the engine to warm up the car, soft music soon emitting from the speakers in his car. As promised, he waited for Diego patiently while also taking the time to text his sister to check up on her.
Ethan was still feeling emotional about Diego moving out but he could tell that Diego was happy, so of course he wasn't going to stand in his way. "Same here, Diego. It's gonna be weird not having you here." Ethan admitted with a small smile resting on his lips. He hoped it wasn't obvious that he was trying his hardest to hold back his tears. Ethan wasn't very good at the whole 'goodbye' thing and honestly, he knew that it wasn't technically goodbye, but Diego was still moving out of the house and it still felt really weird, but he was willing to put his own feelings aside and focus instead on Diego's feelings. His expression soon softened at Diego's words before his attention drifted back to Toni, nodding his head along to showcase his agreement with what Toni was saying. "Toni took the words right out of my mouth. I second everything he just said. If you ever need anything and I mean literally anything, we're here for you. I wish you the absolute best, kiddo, 'cause that's exactly what you deserve." Ethan soon stepped forward to wrap his arms around Diego in a quick hug, patting his back a few times before he stepped back, worried that if he stayed in the hug for longer than necessary, he won't be able to hold back his tears. "Take care, yeah?' Ethan said with a gentle smile resting on his lips as he leaned back slightly, his eyes focused on Diego.

Diego was so excited about the idea of moving in with Tommy and even though he knew that it was going to be strange not returning home to the house that he had shared with his family for so long, he knew that it would be worth it. He couldn't resist teasing Tommy about only being with him so that he could do the heavy lifting but it was all in good fun and Diego could see that Tommy knew that. Soon enough they were heading downstairs with all of his belongings and it felt weird to say the least but Diego knew that he would be just fine. He wouldn't have minded at all if Tommy had decided to stick around while he talked to his brother and Ethan but instead Tommy decided to excuse himself to give them some time alone and Diego knew that that wasn't really a bad thing. It was so strange to be saying goodbye to the two of them even though he knew that he would still see them at work and that he could still stop by and see them whenever he wanted to but Diego knew that he was ready for the next chapter of his life and he was eager to get it started. He could see as he looked over at Ethan that the guy was trying to hold back tears and it was the same for Toni. Diego couldn't really blame them, he had been living with them for such a long time and truth be told he had started to wonder if he was ever going to move out. It was only meant to be a temporary arrangement but he had found himself feeling so comfortable with them and they had always made it clear that he wasn't a guest, that it was his home too so he knew that he was incredibly lucky. Things could have easily worked out so differently but they hadn't done and for that he truly was grateful. "I guess I'll just have to visit you guys all the time so you don't forget me," he said with a smile, hoping to lighten the mood a little since he knew that they would never do that. "You guys are welcome to come over at any time as well, I don't want distance to form between us now we're no longer living under the same roof," he added gently. Toni had already moved out long before Diego was born but he had always been able to turn to his brother when he had needed him and he and Ethan had been so good to Diego since he'd arrived in Mystic Falls so he knew that he wanted them to remain just as close as they were now. "Thank you, I appreciate that more than you'll ever know," Diego assured them both gently as he hugged Ethan back. He had lost all confidence in himself before he arrived in town but they and Tommy had helped him rebuild it and he knew that he wouldn't want to be without any of them now. "You guys take care too and tell the kids I'm always around if they need me," he said, offering them both one final smile before wrapping his arms around each of them tightly once more. Finally pulling back, Diego picked up the last of his belongings and fought back tears as he made his way out to the car where Tommy was waiting for him. Loading the last few boxes, Diego climbed into the car and placed one hand on Tommy's cheek while the other rested on his thigh. "Thank you for giving me that time with them," he said as he leaned forward and pressed his lips against Tommy's. "I'm ready now, let's go home."TOMAS SILVA

─ nothing can hurt me ─ Ethan let out a soft chuckle at Diego's words. "You'd better, kiddo. I'd never settle for anything less than you visiting us all the time." Ethan jokingly warned, though his smile was still present on his lips as he spoke. "Of course we'll visit often. We wouldn't you to forget about us now, would we?' Ethan said with a grin resting on his lips. He'd always be up for visiting Diego and Tomas. He wasn't going to let the distance between them affect their strong relationship. They were family, after all. They were going to adapt to the distance and make things work, no matter what. He wasn't willing to let go of Diego any time soon. "Of course, kiddo." Ethan was more than happy to hug Diego tightly, his lips parting to let out a soft sigh before he drew back from the hug, his smile returning to his lips. "Of course. Stay safe, kiddo. We're here if you need anything." Ethan returned the last hug, his smile faltering as the sadness struck him again but he held back his tears and just hugged the younger tightly before letting him go so he could leave. He watched as the younger picked up the last of his things and left, the door shutting behind him.
Tomas' eyes relaxed on the door of the Alvarez' residence as it opened, revealing Diego who was carrying the last of his belongings and heading toward his car. He unlocked his doors and watched as Diego opened the door and loaded everything into the car, his smile returning to his lips in an instant as his boyfriend settled in the passenger's seat, his hand resting on his cheek while the other came to rest on his thigh. "Of course." Tomas replied gently. When Diego kissed him, he was more than happy to return the kiss. His hand moving to rest gently on Diego's cheek. "Okay, baby. Let's go home." Tomas left another quick kiss on Diego's lips before he drew back from the kiss. "Seatbelt on, baby." Tomas instructed before putting on his own seatbelt and soon after, he was pulling out of his parking spot to drive in the general direction of his apartment complex. The drive took about ten to fifteen minutes with the traffic. Soon enough, Tomas was parking his car and switching the ignition off. "Home, sweet home." Tomas said with a gentle smile resting on his lips as he turned his attention to Diego. "Ready to do this, baby?'
