It was strange to think that only a few days ago Diego had felt sure that this was never going to happen. Tommy had broken his heart when he had ended their relationship and Diego had been left with so many questions but now he finally had the answers to those. Tommy hadn't broken up with him because he had wanted to, because his feelings for him had changed or because he'd changed his mind about keeping Diego's secret, he had broken up with him because he had been keeping a secret of his own. The fact that Tommy had ended things in an attempt to protect him made so much more sense than any of the alternatives but now the truth was out in the open and Tommy had agreed to let Diego be there for him. Diego hated the fact that Tommy had been going through this alone but now they had the chance to do things right and they both wanted to take it. Diego knew that he owed his brother, after all it was Toni who had talked to Tommy and whatever he'd said had made Tommy open up to him. Now they were moving in together and Diego could still see the surprised look on his brother's face when he'd told him but Diego's mind was made up and nothing was going to change it. He had made Tommy a promise that if Tommy ever tried to hurt him then he would try to leave and Diego knew how worried Tommy was about becoming like his ex but Diego knew the two were polar opposites so he was certain that he was never going to have to follow through on his promise. As it was, right now Diego was excited. He had never lived with a partner before and he knew that moving into Tommy's place was only temporary while they looked for a place of their own but it was still the first step towards building the future they had talked about and the truth was that he couldn't wait. "Are you sure you don't want to wait for a bit before moving in together? The two of you did just get back together," Toni said from where he was sitting on the end of the bed while Diego moved around the room packing g his things. "I'm sure. I know it might seem quick but we know what it's like to live without each other now and neither of us wants that," Diego said, pretty sure that his brother would understand that since from what he'd heard Toni and Ethan had ended up getting together in a similar way. "Alright, I just don't want you getting hurt again." Diego could definitely understand where his brother was coming from since he had leaned on both Toni and Ethan after Tommy broke up with him but this time was different, he could feel it. "I know and I love you for it but this feels right. We're in a really good place and I love him so I don't want to waste another minute not being with him." That was enough to have Toni nodding at least. "Just promise me you'll tell us if anything happens or you change your mind. You'll always have a home here with us," Toni assured him and Diego found himself smiling back at his brother in return. "I promise I'll tell you and thank you, I appreciate that more than you know," Diego said as he pulled Toni into a quick hug before getting back to packing. It was a while later when Diego heard the doorbell and he groaned as he realised he was only about half done. "That will be Tommy, could one of you get the door and send him up please?" he called out, hoping that someone had heard him since Toni had left him to it a while ago. TOMAS SILVA

─ nothing can hurt me ─
Tomas patted the pockets of his jacket to make sure that he had everything with him before he left, locking the door behind him. He jiggled the keys in his grasp as he began heading downstairs to his parked car. He got in and turned the ignition on before he started driving toward the Alvarez residence with a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. Today was a good day, he could feel it in his bones. He was excited to help Diego move into his place. It felt strange because only a few days ago, they were exes but they soon made up and everything was back on the right track again. Being with Diego made him feel like he was still the same person, despite everything that had taken place.
He was excited to share the same place with Diego, even more excited to wake up every morning to find Diego sleeping right next to him. It would definitely leave him with a sense of security to know that Diego was right beside him, safe and sound. His colleagues at work noticed the change in his mood and they were quite relieved to see the old Tomas back. The same patrol officer who was on the right track for a big promotion due to his fierce dedication to his job.
Once he was at the Alvarez residence, he parked his car and hopped out, keeping the keys in the pocket of his jacket as he approached the front of the house, knocking gently on the door before he stepped back. On the other side, he could hear Ethan’s voice saying ‘I got it!’ as his footsteps neared the door and soon enough, the door was opening to reveal none other than Ethan. Tomas’ lips stretched into a polite smile as he greeted Ethan. “Hey, Ethan.” Tomas greeted, the tone of his voice carrying a stone undertone. “Hey, buddy. Come in. Diego’s upstairs.” Ethan greeted back, his smile visible on his lips. “Oh, okay, got it. Thanks. Hi, Antonio.” Tomas greeted Diego’s brother with a gentle smile on his lips. “I should probably head on upstairs to help.” Tomas gestured upstairs, his smile still there on his lips. “Yeah, you do that. You guys have got a long day ahead of you. Go, go.” Ethan encouraged him to head on upstairs and so Tomas did as he made his way upstairs. Finding Diego wasn’t difficult at all as he approached his boyfriend with a smile on his lips.
“Hey, baby.” Tomas greeted as he approached him, leaving a quick peck on his cheek. “Need any help packing? Any finished boxes for me to bring to the car?”

Diego hadn’t hesitated in accepting Tommy’s suggestion that they move in together now rather than waiting until they had found a place that they could call their own but now that it was actually happening Diego couldn’t deny that he was nervous. They weren’t going to be moving into somewhere that was new to both of them, he was going to be moving into the place that had belonged to just Tommy ever since he’d arrived in town and even though Diego had been practically living with him already before they broke up, now it was going to be official. This wasn’t something that he had ever done before and he would be lying if he said that he wasn’t terrified of messing up but he knew that he just had to hope that he wouldn’t end up sabotaging this the same way he had a habit of doing so. It was only a few days ago that he’d thought that Tommy was lost to him forever and he’d found himself wondering how he was going to be able to stay in Mystic Falls after that but now everything had changed and Diego knew that he just had to trust that it would all work out. He knew that his brother was only looking out for him and the questions Toni had asked were ones that Diego had thought about himself before already but he was sure about this, he was sure about Tommy and their relationship and even though he was nervous the truth was that more than anything he was excited. Tommy had promised that he wouldn’t push him away like that again and Diego believed him. He had hoped to have at least the majority of the packing done by the time Tommy got there but the truth was that Diego had failed miserably. When he’d arrived in Mystic Falls all he’d had with him was one bag considering that was all he’d had time to pack after coming out to his parents and telling them that they would lose their whole family if they didn’t go to Toni and Ethan’s wedding and he’d had a few things sent to him after he’d decided to stay in town but everything else he’d left behind. It had been well over a year that he’d been living with Toni, Ethan and the kids, though, much longer than Diego had ever thought he would, but during that time he had ended up gaining so many more belongings than he had thought he would. He wasn’t moving very far but he still needed to get everything packed up and as he heard the door he hoped that Tommy wouldn’t mind that he hadn’t made as much progress as he’d hoped. “Hey Tommy. Are you excited about today?” Toni asked as his gaze came to rest on the man. Toni had worried that Diego was rushing into this but he seemed so sure about it and it was clear that the two of them were happy together so Toni knew that he wasn’t going to stand in their way. “I know you and Diego have worked things out but the offer to talk is still there if you ever need it. You’re family now too,” Toni added, knowing that he didn’t want Tommy to forget that he had more people in his corner now. Nodding as Tommy said he should head on upstairs, it wasn’t long before Tommy reached Diego’s room and Diego’s gaze came to rest on his boyfriend. “Hey baby,” he said, a smile touching his lips as Tommy kissed his cheek. “There are a few boxes over there that are ready but there’s still a lot to do. Sorry, I’ve accumulated more than I realised,” he chuckled as he looked around at everything that still needed to be packed. “Moving sucks,” he added although there wasn’t a doubt in his mind that it would be worth it. Tomas felt his smile only brighten at Antonio's question before he nodded his head a few times. "I am. I don't think I slept well yesterday from how excited I was.' Tomas said with a soft chuckle falling from his lips not long after. He was definitely looking forward to having Diego with him under the same roof. He was quiet as he listened to Antonio, his eyes relaxing on the other once again. "I know. Thank you, Antonio." Tomas replied in a soft voice, finding the assurance and offer to be really thoughtful. "I appreciate it." He added a moment later to voice how he really felt about the offer. "It's just something that's a little too heavy for today. I'll take you up on your offer soon, though." Tomas said with a quick nod of his head following. Soon enough, he was making the suggestion that he should head upstairs to help Diego.
Not long after, he was in Diego's room, standing next to him to see how he was doing so far. A chuckle left his lips when Diego mentioned that moving sucks. "It's definitely not easy, but hey, I'm here to help now." Tomas assured with a half-smile on his lips. Soon enough, Tomas was shrugging off his jacket so that he could help Diego with the packing process. "We'll worry about the boxes later. Let's help you pack for now." And from there, Tomas started the process of helping Diego move.
As Tomas moved around, filling up the box with more of Diego's belongings, there was a knock on the door followed by Ethan entering not long after, holding a tray with two cups of coffee. "Just thought you two might need a recharge. Good luck," Ethan said with a gentle smile as he laid the tray down. "Thank you, Ethan." Tomas paused what he was doing in favor of reaching out to the cup to take a quick sip, enjoying the warmth that came with each sip that he took before he gently laid the cup down again. Ethan sent them both a quick nod before he excused himself, closing the door gently behind him. "You weren't joking, babe. You really do have a lot of stuff." Tomas teased in a light-hearted manner as he moved back to where he had stopped before.

"I'm pretty sure Diego was the same, I think I heard him pacing a couple of times during the night," Toni laughed. He knew that it was a big deal for Diego given that he had never lived with a partner before and he honestly hoped that it would go well for them. It was a big step to take but Diego seemed certain that it was what he wanted and Toni couldn't deny that his brother looked happy so that was good enough for him as long as it stayed that way. "You're welcome," Toni said, offering Tommy a smile as he said he appreciated the offer. Toni knew that he was fortunate in that he had Ethan and Diego to confide in and Ethan had been his best friend before they got together so it was easy to talk to him about anything and everything but he wanted to make sure that Tommy knew he had others he could talk to if he needed to as well. "Take your time, it's always there," Toni assured him before turning to look at Ethan as Tommy headed upstairs. "This feels a little bittersweet, is this what it's going to be like when the kids leave home too?" he asked, not sure whether he was the only one feeling that way right now. "My hero," Diego grinned when Tommy said that he was there to help now. He really had wanted to have at least most of the packing done by the time Tommy got there and he'd meant it when he'd said that he thought he didn't have that much stuff to move but he had clearly accumulated much more than he'd thought during the time that he had been living there and it turned out that it was a bigger job than he'd anticipated. "Thanks baby," Diego said, letting his hand rest against Tommy's cheek as he stole a kiss before turning his attention back to packing. Diego wasn't sure how long it was before the knock on the door came but by that time he was ready for a break. "Thank you," he said, offering his brother-in-law a smile as he moved to the tray and picked up one of the cups to take a sip. They still had more to do but Diego was glad of the break and he had a feeling that Tommy probably was too. "I swear I didn't realise I had this much, I meant it when I said I thought it was just clothes and my exercise bike," he said, a guilty expression forming on his face as he looked over at his boyfriend. "Are you sure you still want to move twice?" Diego asked. There wasn't a doubt in his mind that he wanted to live with Tommy now even before they'd found a place of their own but he needed to make sure that Tommy wasn't having second thoughts now they were actually doing this. "Oh, really?" A fond smile began to tug at the corner of his lips. "That's pretty cute." He added a moment later with a soft chuckle falling from his lips not long after. So far, only Diego knew about what had happened that night. Talking about it with other people wasn't easy at all for him, but it was different with Diego, especially after Antonio had given him the encouragement to do so, but he knew that he could trust Diego's family. "Much appreciated, Antonio." Tomas said with a hint of softness in the tone of his voice. He gave them one last nod before he turned and began making his way upstairs to help Diego pack his things. "I think so. It's already pretty difficult to see Diego go." Ethan offered back with a sad sigh falling from his lips. It was going to feel weird to not have Diego living with them, but he was really happy for Diego.
Meanwhile, upstairs Tomas was helping Diego pack his things so they can move the boxes to the car. He was probably gonna make a few trips from the house back to his apartment since his car wasn't big enough to fit all of the boxes in it in one go. He didn't mind it, though. He was more than happy to do this for Diego because it meant that the other would finally be able to move in with him and they'd both be under the same roof.
"Babe, you know I don't mind. Plus, this is good exercise since I haven't been able to go the gym while I was, y'know, dealing with all that crazy stuff." Tomas offered with a grin tugging at the corner of his lips. Truthfully, he didn't mind if Diego had so many things to pack. "Plus, why spend the few weeks, or months, leading up to us moving together in a house, away from each other when we could spend it together under the same roof, hm?" Tomas' shoulders lifted and dropped into a quick shrug as he neatly folded Diego's clothes, moving them with such care to ensure they don't get wrinkled.

“He’s wanted this for a long time,” Toni said, a smile touching his lips as he looked over at Tommy. He would be lying if he said that he hadn’t worried that Diego and Tommy were rushing into things given that they had just gotten back together but he knew how serious they were about each other and no matter what had caused Tommy to end their relationship before it looked like they had well and truly moved passed that now and Toni really was happy for them. He’d talked to Diego earlier that day and it was clear to him how much his brother wanted this so Toni wanted nothing more than for it to work out between them. “No problem,” Toni nodded before turning to look at his husband as Tommy headed upstairs to find Diego. “It really is. I know he’s my brother and not one of the kids but I’m still protective of him and I know you are too,” he said, making his way over to Ethan and wrapping an arm around his shoulders. “Let’s just hope we don’t have to go through this with any of the kids anytime soon.” Diego was ashamed of how much packing there was still to do but Tommy didn’t hesitate in pitching in and Diego really was grateful to his boyfriend for that. He knew that even with two cars it would probably take a few trips but there wasn’t a doubt in Diego’s mind that it would be worth it once they had finished. He knew that they could have waited until they’d found a place for them both to move into but there was no telling how long that would take so at least now they wouldn’t have to keep living apart. Diego had been spending most nights at Tommy’s place again anyway so it made sense and he couldn’t wait to move in with him. “I know I just didn’t want you having any second thoughts,” Diego admitted as his eyes met Tommy’s. Tommy had said he was all in and Diego believed him but his old insecurities were still there and he knew that the last thing he wanted was for something to happen that would make Tommy regret getting back together with him. Deep down Diego knew that wasn’t going to happen but after they broke up his exes’ words about how he wasn’t good enough had come flooding back to him and they were proving to be more difficult to shake than he had ever thought they would be. “That’s very true. I spend most nights at your place anyway so we’re practically living together anyway,” he nodded as he closed the box he had been packing and moved on to the next. They had been before they broke up anyway and even though it had only been a few days since they’d gotten back together he had gone back to spending his nights at Tommy’s anyway. “It will be worth it to be able to wake up next to you every morning.”TOMAS SILVA

Tomas' expression softened when Antonio revealed that Diego had been wanting this for a long time. Honestly, Tomas felt the exact same way too. He'd always wanted to share an apartment with his partner. Back then, it seemed like such a faraway thing but now, it was so close he could grasp it. He was beyond excited to help Diego move his things so that they could go home and share the same place together. Then, his dream won't be a dream anymore. It would be reality. He excused himself not long after to go upstairs and help Diego pack his belongings. In the meantime, Ethan was downstairs with Antonio and when Antonio's words reached him, he turned to look at him. "I am." Ethan cared a lot about Diego and he wanted nothing more than for him to be happy. "Oh my god. That's when the faucet in my eyes will become unhinged and I'll just start crying uncontrollably." Ethan said with a brief chuckle falling from his lips not long after.
"I would've started having second thoughts if you had Justin Bieber posters, but since I can't see any, you're safe." Tomas said with a chuckle falling from his lips. Honestly, he didn't mind that Diego had a lot of stuff. It gave him things to do and he was all too happy to get busy. "Exactly." Tomas agreed with a smile on his lips. "Oh, it'll be so worth it." Tomas' voice was softly as he spoke. "I can't wait." He added a moment later.
Tomas carried on with his task, taking short breaks every now and then to drink the coffee that Ethan had prepared for them. It was definitely enough to make him feel recharged. He placed down the mug and returned to his task. He folded Diego's clothes neatly until he filled up the box. He moved onto another task to continue helping Diego pack his things. It was therapeutic in a way, actually. He enjoyed it a lot. Though half-way through it, he couldn't deny the fact that all the moving around and cardio was starting to make him feel hungry and so at some point, his stomach betrayed him by grumbling out loud. "Okay, I think we definitely deserve a break. I'm pretty hungry. What do you say we eat something then carry on?"

Antonio knew all about his brother's past and the way each of his relationships had failed but Diego was different whenever he was with Tommy and that alone was enough to make him see that he really wanted to make this work. He had hated seeing how heartbroken Diego was after he and Tommy broke up but now it was like his brother was back to being the person he was meant to be and Toni had seen the way Diego's eyes lit up whenever he talked about moving in with Tommy. This was what Diego wanted and Toni was happy for him and for Tommy as well. Tommy looked like he was just as excited about this as Diego was and Toni really hoped that things would work out for them this time. It wasn't long before he and Ethan were left alone and Toni nodded as Ethan confirmed that he was protective of Diego too. As Ethan said he would start crying when it was time for the kids to move out, Toni's expression softened and he gave his husband's hand a gentle squeeze. "I know what you mean. Let's just hope none of them want to move out anytime soon." The kids weren't technically kids any longer but Toni knew that he would always see them as such so he really wasn't looking forward to them moving out. As Tommy said he would have had second thoughts if he had any Justin Bieber posters, Diego felt a smile form on his face. "Oh, they're already packed babe. I know exactly where they should go in our bedroom too," he teased, the words slipping from his mouth with such ease. This wasn't Tommy's first time in his room so Diego knew that he was only messing around and he couldn't resist playing along. It was only after he'd said it that he realised that he'd called it their bedroom but that's what it was going to be now and just the thought was enough to make his heart start to race a little. "Neither can I, it's going to be great," he nodded. Packing everything wasn't easy but with the two of them working on it he knew that they would have it done soon enough. Diego wouldn't be surprised if he ended up getting rid of some stuff while they unpacked but for now he just wanted to get this part done. The coffee that Ethan had made them definitely helped and there were a few times that Diego thought about asking Toni and Ethan or even the kids for help but the truth was that it felt right doing this with Tommy. They were about half way through when Diego heard a strange sound and he couldn't help but laugh as he realised what it was. "Was that your stomach?" he chuckled. "I think we'd better get you some food before you start wasting away," he added with a grin as he looked over at his boyfriend. "What are you in the mood for? We could order takeout or we might be able to talk Toni into making us something."TOMAS SILVA

"Yeah. We have time to mentally prepare ourselves for that day, I think." Ethan said with a quick nod of his head following. Even though it wasn't easy to think about that day, he knew that the kids weren't exactly kids anymore and soon enough, they'll move out to begin a whole new chapter of their lives. He just hoped that they would have some time to mentally prepare themselves first.
Tomas stopped in his tracks at Diego's words, his eyes widening comically. "It's... going in our bedroom? I think I'm, uh, gonna sleep on the couch. You guys can have the bedroom." Tomas teased as he waved his hand off in a don't worry about it gesture, his smile screaming that he was in a lot of emotional pain before it turned into an actual grin to show that he was joking around.
All jokes aside, Tomas really was excited to share his apartment with Diego. For so long, it kinda felt like Diego was already living with him. He spent most nights at his place and it kind of gave him insight on how it would actually be like to share a place with Diego, but then he'd have to go back home and Tomas would have to go back to living on his own after getting used to having Diego living with him under the same roof. Now though, he won't have to worry about Diego going back and leaving him alone in the apartment. They were gonna stay together and the thought was already making him smile quite a bit.
Tomas realized it was time for them to stop when he heard his stomach grumble. When Diego asked if it was his stomach that made that noise, his lips stretched into a sheepish smile as he placed his hand on his stomach. "Yuuuup." Tomas popped the 'p' with a chuckle falling from his lips not long after. "I won't waste away, but I might eat anything in sight. Including the furniture." Tomas joked with a grin tugging at the corners of his lips.
"Oh, I wouldn't want to impose. I can't take his brother away and make him cook." Tomas said with a soft chuckle falling from his lips not long after. "We can order something. Are you in the mood for anything in particular, babe?"

“I hope so. I’m not ready for them to move out yet,” Toni admitted. Truth be told he wasn’t sure whether he would ever be ready for the kids to leave home but he knew that it was bound to happen sooner or later. Right now it was strange enough thinking about Diego moving out even though he’d lived on his own before, though, and Toni knew that he didn’t want to think about any more changes like that for a while. Their family was a happy one and Toni knew that he wanted to keep it that way for as long as possible. It was all Diego could do to hold back a laugh at the way that Tommy’s eyes widened when he said he knew the perfect place for the poster. “When you put it like that perhaps the living room will do. I’d rather have you to cuddle up to at night, babe,” Diego said thoughtfully before feeling a grin form on his face in return. He knew that Tommy was only messing around but even so he couldn’t resist the urge to play along. It was so good being able to be like this around each other again and no matter what happened in the future Diego knew that he was going to enjoy every minute of his time with Tommy. When they broke up Diego had thought that was it, he had felt sure that the future he and Tommy had talked about was never going to happen but now it was and he couldn’t wait. They’d planned their future together before they had broken up and now today was the first day of the rest of their lives. There was still so much that they had yet to figure out, after all right now Diego didn’t know whether Tommy would continue living a mortal life or whether he would decide to make himself immortal, but either way it didn’t change anything. Diego had already had to try living without Tommy in his life once and he knew that he didn’t want to go through that again so he wasn’t going anywhere. They had been practically living together before they broke up anyway and it was going to take time for them to find the perfect place for them to buy together but until then they were going to live together at Tommy’s place and Diego was beyond excited. “That’s so cute,” Diego chuckled as Tommy confirmed that it was his stomach that had just made that noise. Diego hadn’t realised how hungry he was himself until then but as soon as he became aware of it he realised that it wasn’t something that he could ignore. “It would mean we’d have less to move but that’s not such a good idea,” he grinned, unable to resist playing along. As Tommy spoke again, Diego’s expression softened. “You’re hardly taking me away, I want to live with you,” Diego assured him, hoping that there wasn’t a doubt in Tommy’s mind about that. He really did want this and he was certain that they were doing the right thing. As Tommy asked if he was in the mood for anything in particular, Diego’s expression turned thoughtful for a moment. “I could really go for some pizza right now,” he admitted. “How about you?” he asked, not sure if Tommy was in the mood for something different. “We should ask the others if they’re hungry too, it’ll be my treat since it’ll be my last meal living here,” he added, knowing that he had more than enough cash on him to pay for it. They still had some more packing to do but Diego had a feeling that it wouldn’t take more than an hour to finish it all so they would be on their way soon enough although he hoped they could spend some time with his family first. ─ nothing can hurt me ─
Ethan released a soft sigh before he nodded his head in agreement with Toni because he was definitely not ready for the kids to move out yet. Seeing Diego move out was already enough to move Ethan to tears, he can't imagine what it will be like for the kids to move out as well. He hoped that he won't have to experience what that feels like for at least a while. He just needs time to prepare himself for it.
"Oh, so you're picking me over Justin Bieber? That's actually quite a big honor. I'll wear it with pride." Tomas replied with a chuckle falling from his lips when Diego picked cuddling with him over having the posters in their bedroom. All jokes aside, Diego could have had the most atrocious posters in their bedroom and Tomas would've still stayed in there with Diego. They had spent enough time apart so he would rather not spend another single second away from Diego.
A chuckle fell from his lips at Diego's words when he found the sound that escaped his stomach to be cute. "You know, you make a pretty good point there." Tomas said with a grin forming on his lips not long after. Though it wasn't long before Tomas' expression was softening as he listened to Diego. "I'm really glad to hear that, babe." Tomas replied with a gentle smile forming on his lips, his voice still soft and gentle as ever. He was really glad to hear that Diego wanted to live with him. "I want to live with you, too." He added a moment later, wanting the younger to know that he shared the same sentiment.
"Oh, man, pizza sounds amazing right now." Tomas agreed with a quick nod of his head following. His expression softened as he listened to Diego, his lips forming a gentle smile. "Of course, babe. That's very thoughtful." Tomas was more than happy to support Diego's decision to let it be his treat since it'll be his last meal here. "Let's go ask." Tomas rubbed his boyfriend's back with a gentle smile on his lips.
Soon enough, Tomas was making his way downstairs with his boyfriend. "Hey, guys." He greeted with a smile on his lips. "Uh, we were wondering if you guys wanted to have some pizza with us?" Tomas questioned, his curiosity visible in the tone of his voice.
Ethan perked up from where he was, washing the dishes in the kitchen. "Count me in!" He answered from where he was, always more than happy to eat some pizza. Tomas' lips stretched into an even wider smile, nodding his head almost immediately. "Of course," he waited to see what Antonio's answer will be, as well.

Diego’s stay with his family was only meant to be temporary while he looked for his own place after he’d arrived in Mystic Falls but it had turned into more of a long term thing. He knew that they would have been happy for him to continue living with them, it had become his home too after all, but the truth was that he was excited to start the next chapter of his life with Tommy. He knew what it was like to live without Tommy now and that was something that Diego didn’t want to go through again. He had no idea what the future was going to hold for them or whether Tommy would choose to age normally or stop it altogether but either way Diego knew that he wanted to spend as much time as he could with the guy he loved and that started today. “It was a pretty close call but yeah, you won,” Diego chuckled, unable to resist playing along. He knew that Tommy was only messing around and Diego couldn’t deny that it felt good to be able to do that again. Things had been awkward between them after they broke up but now they really were back on the right track and Diego knew that he wasn’t going to take that for granted. Sooner or later they would end up finding a new place together but for now Tommy’s place was about to become theirs and the truth was that Diego couldn’t wait. “I normally do,” Diego joked as Tommy said he made a pretty good point. Truth be told he normally didn’t know what he was doing a lot of the time but now and then he had good ideas. As Tommy said that he wanted to live with him too, Diego felt a smile touch his lips and he closed the distance between them, letting his hand rest lightly against Tommy’s cheek before pressing his lips against his. “I love you,” he said gently, hoping that Tommy knew just how much. As Tommy said that pizza sounded amazing right now, Diego couldn’t help but laugh. “Alright then, pizza it is,” he grinned, knowing that it was exactly what he needed right now. “It’s the least I can do,” Diego said as Tommy said it was very thoughtful. His family had done so much for him and Diego knew that he would never be able to repay them for all of it but he could at least make sure that they had a nice meal together before he moved out. “Alright,” he nodded as Tommy said they should go and ask. Heading downstairs with his boyfriend, Diego’s gaze soon came to rest on his brother and Ethan and he wasn’t at all surprised at the way Ethan answered straight away. “Wouldn’t expect anything less,” Diego said, sending a smile in his brother-in-law’s direction before turning to look at Toni. “I’m in, there should be some cash in my wallet,” Toni said automatically and Diego shook his head. “This is on me, no arguments,” he said, knowing that his brother was about to do just that but he quickly stopped and nodded instead. Moving away from the three of them, Diego placed the order and pocketed his phone as he returned. “It’ll be about twenty minutes, I’ve ordered enough for the kids as well,” he said before feeling a smile touch his lips as his brother made his way to the fridge and pulled out a beer for each of them. “Thanks,” he said as he took the bottle from Toni, wrapping his free arm around Tommy before taking a sip of his beer as Toni offered Tommy one as well. “So how’s the packing going?” Toni asked and a smile touched Diego’s lips as his brother handed Ethan a beer before lacing the fingers of their free hands together. “Pretty well so far but we needed a bit of a break. I won’t lie, I hate packing,” he admitted as he took another sip of his drink. “There’s something to be said for just throwing some clothes into a bag and getting out of town,” he added. Back then he had known that there was a chance that his ex might come after him so it had been something that he’d needed to do but this time was different and as much as he hated packing, he knew that he just had to remember that it would be worth it in the end. Tomas let out a soft chuckle at Diego's words before he placed his hand on his heart in a motion that showcased that he was grateful that his boyfriend had picked him over Justin Bieber. "Well then, in that case, I'm very honored, babe." Tomas said with a grin tugging at the corners of his lips not long after. "In your face, Justin Bieber." Tomas' smirk turned cocky, looking all too happy that Diego favored him and not Justin Bieber.
"Okay, careful, don't let your head get too big." Tomas replied back when Diego replied back that he normally makes pretty good points, his eyes rolling in a manner that screamed with fondness. "I love you too." His words were soft as he spoke, his eyes relaxing on his boyfriend once more, watching him with the same fondness still visible in his eyes.
"Perfect." Tomas replied back when Diego decided to go for the pizza as well, his lips stretching into a grin of his own. Tomas nodded his head with a gentle smile on his lips as he listened to Diego. "I'm sure they'll appreciate the gesture, babe." After all, it would be Diego's last meal in the house and while Tomas would be more than happy to keep the door open for Diego's family to come and visit, he knew it wouldn't be quite the same as them living under the same roof. Soon enough, it was time for them to head on downstairs to ask if they were in the mood for some pizza and it didn't take long to hear an answer from Ethan which immediately put a gentle smile on Tomas' lips.
"I'm never the one to resist pizza." Ethan added a moment later with a chuckle falling from his lips not long after. He finished washing the dishes not long after and quickly dried his hands.
Tomas watched Diego and Antonio with a small smile resting on his lips when Antonio tried to pay for the pizza but Diego made it clear that he wasn't going to let him. His eyes followed Diego not long after as he moved away to place the order before he looked back at Antonio and Ethan, his smile still present on his lips. When Diego returned, Tomas' eyes moved back to him as he moved closer to his boyfriend. "Okay, great." Tomas replied back when Diego revealed that it will take about twenty minutes for the pizza to arrive.
His attention moved back to Antonio and when he offered him a bottle, he took it with a smile on his lips. "Thank you." He braced the bottle between his hands and with Diego's arm around him, he moved closer to his boyfriend, enjoying being close to Diego like this.
"Thanks, baby." Ethan reached for the offered bottle, all too happy to hold onto Toni's hand with his free hand. Both Tommy and Ethan listened to the conversation between Diego and Antonio with Tommy nodding his head in agreement with Diego. It was going well, but they definitely needed a break to get their strength back up again.
"I know it seems like its never-ending right now, but don't worry, once we're done, it'll be worth it." Tomas assured him, his smile easily returning to his lips as he wrapped his free arm around Diego's waist. "It'll be over before you know it, babe."

“So you should be, I wouldn’t pick just anyone over him,” Diego teased before laughing as Tommy spoke again. “You tell him, babe,” he chuckled. Truth be told he wasn’t really a fan of Justin Bieber but he hadn’t been able to resist playing along with what Tommy had said. It still felt a little surreal that they were finally moving in together but Diego was much more excited than he had ever thought that he would be. He knew how close they had come to never being able to do this and that alone was enough to make Diego realise that he wanted to cherish every moment of the time they had to spend together. Diego had no idea what the future was going to hold but he knew that no matter what he wanted to face it with Tommy. As Tommy told him not to let his head get too big, Diego couldn’t help but laugh. “I know you would never let that happen baby, you always keep me grounded,” he grinned, his expression amused as he looked over at his boyfriend. As Tommy said he loved him too, Diego’s expression softened and he let his hand rest against his boyfriend’s cheek before stealing a kiss. This really wasn’t something that he had ever thought that he would get to have but Tommy had given him the time to figure things out and even though they had drifted apart they had found their way back to each other and Diego was looking forward to seeing what the future was going to hold for them. Diego had never realised just how hungry packing could make him but he was glad for the excuse to stop for a bit when Tommy’s stomach rumbled. They didn’t have too much more left to do but they had been at it for a while so Diego knew that they deserved the chance to take some time out before getting back to it. “Hopefully. We’ll have to make sure we still see them,” he nodded. He would get to see Toni and Ethan at work but it wasn’t the same as seeing them at home all the time and Diego knew that he wanted to make sure that he would still get to spend time with the kids as well. They had all done so much for Diego and he was always going to be grateful to him for that so he knew that he didn’t want them to feel like he was turning his back on them. “Trust me, I know,” Diego chuckled as Ethan said that he was never one to resist pizza. It seemed to be a favourite for most of them in the house so Diego was more than happy to go with that for his last meal with them. He wasn’t at all surprised when Toni tried to pay for the food but Diego was insistent that he was going to be the one paying and a half smile tugged at the corner of his mouth as his brother backed down. In the past Diego had never really minded his brother paying for certain things but he’d found his own ways to contribute rather than just living in the house for free. This was different though, this was his last day living with them and he knew that he wanted to do something as a way of thanking them even if it wouldn’t even come close to everything that they had done for him since he had arrived in Mystic Falls. It wasn’t long before the food was ordered and Diego turned his head and pressed a light kiss to Tommy’s shoulder as Tommy moved closer to him. Small moments like this had always been his favourite and he felt a smile touch his lips as his gaze came to rest in Toni and Ethan’s joined hands. It was a relationship like theirs that Diego had finally started to realise that he wanted to find and he had definitely done that with Tommy. “I know it will be. Then we can do it all over again when we find a house to move to,” Diego chuckled as he took a sip of his drink, his smile widening as Tommy wrapped his free arm around his waist. “Honestly as much as I hate moving I’d do it all a hundred times over if that’s what it took to be with you,” he added with a shrug. They had been practically living together before they broke up and they had fallen back into that habit again after they got back together. Now they were starting the next chapter of their lives together and Diego really couldn’t wait. “I bet you guys are going to be happy having your spare room back, I promise I didn’t mean to hog it for so long,” he admitted, taking another sip of his drink as he looked over at his brother and Ethan.
