“It is. It’s good to be away from that and all the memories,” Kaleb admitted. His friends all had families back in New Orleans but he didn’t. His parents had died before he moved to Mystic Falls and he’d not only had to learn to walk again after the accident but he’d also had to come to terms with triggering his werewolf curse after his dad convinced Kaleb to kill him in order to trigger his curse and save himself. Before that Kaleb had only ever known himself to be a warlock so it had come as a shock but he knew that his parents had been trying to protect him and he couldn’t hold that against them. Now whenever he thought about New Orleans he was reminded of the accident and the awful time that had followed when he’d thought he would never walk again so he was glad to be away from all of that as well as the conflict between the different species. Truth be told he wasn’t really sure what would have happened if he’d stayed after getting back on his feet, he’d had his friends around him but he wasn’t sure that the magical community would accept him as a hybrid nor was he sure that the packs would accept him as one so starting over really had been for the best. Now he knew that he was never going to think of moving to Mystic Falls as a bad thing after meeting Alex and Kaleb knew that he wanted them to stay in their own little bubble the way they were right now for as long as possible. One thing was for sure, he was never going to get tired of the feeling of Alex’s lips against his own and not for the first time Kaleb found himself wondering how he had ended up getting so lucky. He would be the first to admit that he didn’t have a lot of experience when it came to being with another guy but Alex had been incredibly understanding and last night was one that Kaleb knew he was definitely going to remember. Kaleb wanted to be honest with Alex about who he was but the truth was that he didn’t know how he would react. He wasn’t even sure that Alex knew about the supernatural world and even if he did there were no guarantees that he would accept him and Kaleb knew that he really didn’t want Alex to reject him so he knew that he needed to keep it to himself for now. “It does,” Kaleb agreed, a smile touching his lips as he looked down at Alex. It wasn’t long before Alex was closing the distance between them and Kaleb wrapped his arms around him tightly, unable to shake the feeling that he didn’t want to let go. Kaleb was about to protest when Alex said that they should get out of the shower but before he could say anything the water heated up once more and Kaleb couldn’t help but laugh. “Just like magic, huh?” he grinned. He hadn’t seen Alex’s hand touch the tap to warm the water up but he knew that he could have missed it so he didn’t want to jump to conclusions although it was certainly enough to fill him with hope that perhaps he wasn’t the only one who was a part of the supernatural world after all. “I think we can stay for a little longer now the water’s heated up. I’ll make us something to eat in a minute,” he said, his hand finding the back of Alex’s neck as he drew him in for another kiss. ALEX KOVACS

here lies a toppled god, his fall was not a small one
Alex nodded his head with a gentle smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "I am here if you ever wish to talk about it." Mostly referring the memories that Kaleb mentioned in fleeting and they wouldn't be good memories if he wanted to forget about it. But from there, it was to get distracted by Kaleb kissing him and touching him until the moment that the water started running cold, although he tried to, as subtly as possible, change the temperature back using his magic, grateful that his magic could come in handy like that.
Alex couldn't help the chuckle that left his lips at Kaleb's comment about it being just like magic. Oh, you have no idea. He wanted to say, but held back. For now. "Just like magic." He repeated, his accent hanging heavily from his words. "No complaints from me." He admitted and when Kaleb brought him in for a kiss, he easily went along, his own hand moving to cup Kaleb's cheek while the other remained on his chest with their fingers intertwined together. He hummed softly into the kiss, enjoying the slow and passionate glide of their lips against one another. He kissed him for as long as he could and even when he ran out of air, he parted only to go back in for more once he'd caught his breath. It was easy to get carried away under the steady fall of the water on top of them. The noise of the water falling down drowned everything else, making it seem like it was only the two of them in the entire world and he didn't mind that one bit.
"You feel good like this." He whispered softly against his lips, gently biting down onto his bottom lip before drawing back. "More than good." He added, looking at Kaleb with the same look of desire crossing his features. "It's probably unsafe if we get carried away, no?" But despite his words, he didn't seem entirely convinced by his own words and it showed. It showed in the way his eyes dropped to Kaleb's lips then back up again. TAG: KALEB WESTPHALL

“Thank you, I appreciate that,” Kaleb said sincerely. He knew that talking about it might help but the truth was that he really didn’t want to scare Alex off so he knew that he needed to keep it to himself. He had a lot of bad memories back in New Orleans but he’d made some good ones since arriving in Mystic Falls and it was those that he needed to hold on to. He knew deep down that he had some good memories of New Orleans as well, ones of time shared with his parents before they died, but he wasn’t ready to face those yet and he wasn’t sure that he ever would be. He knew that a lot of the people he had known back then would think of him as an abomination now that he had triggered his curse but it was a part of him and always would be. It was easy to focus on Alex instead of the bad things that had happened in his life and instead he found himself enjoying the feeling of Alex’s lips against his. Kaleb hadn’t even noticed that the water was starting to cool down until it suddenly heated up again and Kaleb couldn’t help but make a comment about it happening just like magic. He knew that he might have missed Alex turning the tap and heating the water that way but Kaleb suspected that there might be more than that, or perhaps that was just wishful thinking. A smile touched his lips as Alex repeated his words, Kaleb’s heart skipping a beat at Alex’s accent. He honestly had no idea why Alex had such an effect on him but it was something that he knew to enjoy while he could. “I thought you might say that,” he grinned, sure that Alex would be able to hear the increased speed of his heart beating under his hand as they kissed. It was easy to get lost in it, forgetting about the rest of the world and just focusing on the feeling of Alex’s lips against his own. Kaleb knew that he would never get tired of that feeling and the only time they parted was when they both needed to breathe. In that moment nothing else mattered only the two of them and the electricity that was flowing between them. “So do you,” Kaleb said, brushing Alex’s hair away from his face before letting his hand rest against Alex’s cheek as he said it would probably be unsafe if they got carried away. He half expected Alex to pull away and get out of the shower but he didn’t; instead Alex’s eyes seemed to shift to Kaleb’s lips and back up again and that was enough to draw a smile to Kaleb’s lips as he leaned forward and kissed Alex again. “What. Makes. You. Say. That?” he asked between kisses, the desire he felt for Alex humming in every fibre of his being as their eyes met. ALEX KOVACS
