here lies a toppled god, his fall was not a small one
When his eyes fluttered open, he became acutely aware of where he was. Memories of the night prior came rushing in. Surely enough, when he turned his attention to his right, he found a body laying there. There was no regret swelling in his chest. If anything, he seemed to look at the sleeping form quietly for a couple of moments, overcome with the urge to reach out and brush his hair back so he could look at him better, but he stayed still so he wouldn't wake him up. Though, he had a feeling that with the bright sunlight seeping from between the blinds, it would only be a matter of time before he, too, would wake up.
Alex brushed his unruly curls away from his face and soon enough, he was quietly slipping out of the bed, collecting his clothes but he didn't get dressed, not right away. He just placed his clothes nearby to be able to get to them when it was time for him to go. He chose to put on his shirt, buttoned only half-way and his boxers to make it a little easier for him to get dressed when it was time for him to go. After all, he'd completely understand if Kaleb was only looking for a way to release tension and not anything serious, but he might as well give it a try or else he won't know, right?
He wanted to give Kaleb his number and writing his number on a sticky note wasn't something he wanted to do. He wanted to test the waters first instead of just leaving his number and hoping for the best. It would simply leave him feeling restless. Alex glanced over at Kaleb, fixing his shirt as it slipped down his shoulder before he moved to lay down next to Kaleb again, letting his curls fan over the pillow. When he felt a shift behind him, softened eyes soon turned to the other. “Morning.” Alex's slightly gravely voice soon made itself known. It was mostly because he'd just woken up. “Would you like me to leave?” Alex asked, ready for Kaleb's answer because if the other wanted him to go, he wasn't going to resist and try to change his mind. He was simply going to accept it and store this as a good memory and that's it. “I didn't mean to — um —” Alex frowned slightly as he struggled to remember how it was phrased. “Overstay my welcome.” Alex's words were genuine as he spoke, playing subconsciously with the sleeve of his shirt, thumbing at the button at the cuff of his shirt as he waited for Kaleb's answer.

Kaleb had never really been the kind of person who did this. Random hook ups weren't his thing and normally he wouldn't have even considered doing something like this but with Alex there was something there that Kaleb just couldn't seem to shake. He had known for a while that he was bi, it had become pretty obvious to him when he had realised that he had a crush on one of his male friends, but it had still taken him time to come to terms with that on top of everything else that he had been through. He had never really acted on it before, there had been a few kisses along the way and he had dated a guy before but this felt different. That was why he hadn't tried to fight it when he had realised the direction that things were heading in, instead he had decided just to go with it. In a way it had helped that they had gone back to his place rather than Alex's, Kaleb's friends all had their own lives so they were rarely ever home these days and it had made him feel a lot more comfortable. Starting to come to as sunlight filtered in through the blinds, Kaleb quickly became aware of another presence in the bed next to him and a smile touched his lips as memories of the night before came flooding back to him. It had been a while since he had last woken up to someone in the bed next to him and if he was honest, he'd missed it. Of course, the problem was he didn't know what this was to Alex or what the other guy wanted it to be so Kaleb knew that he was just going to have to try and find out. "Good morning," he said, the smile still on his face as his eyes opened and he took in the sight of the person next to him. He was a little surprised to find that Alex was partially dressed but Kaleb knew that he didn't want to read too much into that right now, not when Alex was still here and had climbed back into bed beside him. He could have easily made a quick getaway if he had wanted to but he hadn't and Kaleb was glad about that. Shifting so he was laying on his side, Kaleb resisted the urge to brush Alex's hair away from his face and instead traced his fingertips over Alex's arm gently. As he said he didn't mean to overstay his welcome, Kaleb's eyes widened in surprise as they met Alex's. "You didn't at all, in fact I'm glad you stayed," he said sincerely, meaning every word. "I don't want you to leave, not unless you want to," he added, realising that he had been so taken aback by Alex's assumption that he hadn't answered his question. "I can make us some breakfast, if you'd like to stick around," he added, knowing that he would regret it if he didn't offer. ALEX KOVACS

here lies a toppled god, his fall was not a small one
Alex looked pleasantly surprised to hear Kaleb say something like that. His surprise melted into something softer as he got a little more comfortable on the bed now that he didn't have to worry about leaving as soon as possible to not cause any more discomfort by his lingering presence. He looked down at Kaleb's hand, the one brushing against his arm. He enjoyed the featherlight touch more than anything. But soon, he was peering back at Kaleb through his lashes, a half-smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “I don't want to leave.” His accent was still a bit heavy as it embraced each syllable, his softened gaze was on Kaleb as he said those words, meaning each one of them as he moved his own hand down to brush it against the back of Kaleb's hand, tracing the veins and each knuckle.
“Breakfast sounds nice.” Now, it felt like he had gotten dressed for no reason, so he was at least glad that he was partially dressed and not dressed from head to toe just waiting for the word that'd get him moving towards the door. He was relieved that he was going to spend more time with Kaleb. Last night had been pleasant in every sense of the word. Each interaction between them had left him with awakened butterflies in his stomach and it's been quite some time since anyone had made him feel that way and Alex was no stranger to hook-ups. So what they had felt unique in a way that intrigued Alex. “I'll stick around.” Alex added a moment later, realizing that he hadn't assured Kaleb on that front just yet.
“Now it feels like I should've gotten dressed. Or, half dressed.” Alex's words were light with an underline of teasing, his lips stretching into a smile. “I just didn't want to make things awkward.” Alex said not long after, wanting to explain why he was wearing anything to begin with. “How was last night for you?” Alex asked, his voice still soft as he turned onto his side to look at Kaleb better.

Kaleb knew there were plenty of people out there who got what they wanted and left without saying anything and if he was honest there was a part of him that had wondered whether Alex might be one of those people. He was so handsome and Kaleb didn't doubt the guy could have anyone he wanted. Kaleb's own track record of dating wasn't great so it had been a while since he had last shared his bed with anyone but with Alex he had known that it was time to change that. He had never felt anything like the connection he had felt to Alex and it had made Kaleb realise that he would regret it if he didn't go for it. He didn't know whether anything else would come of it or not but he knew that he wanted to enjoy it for however long it lasted. Whenever Alex spoke his accent was enough to have Kaleb's heart flutter in his chest but this time it was his words that affected him the most and Kaleb's expression softened. "That's settled then, you don't have to go anywhere," he said, his smile returning as he looked over at Alex and a pleasant tingle starting in the exact spot where Alex's fingers traced over the back of his hand. "Bacon and eggs or pancakes?" he asked, knowing it was only fair that he find out what Alex would like rather than assuming. "Or I can make something else if you prefer," he added quickly. Kaleb wasn't really sure how this was meant to go, he had dated and been in relationships before but this was something different entirely. He knew that Alex might not want to see him again after they parted ways but so far everything was giving Kaleb hope that that wouldn't be thr case. "I'm glad to hear that," Kaleb said gently, leaning forward and pressing his lips to Alex's in a gentle kiss. He really was glad that the guy had decided to stick around and he already felt like he wanted to impress Alex in some way and make sure that this wouldn't be a one off. "I actually thought you were going to make a quick getaway when I saw you were partly dressed," Kaleb chuckled. Now he felt a little foolish for thinking that but he was glad that he had been wrong. Listening out for his friends, it didn't take him long to realise that they were alone. "We still have the place to ourselves so you're dressed just right," he added, knowing that he should get up and make them something to eat but not in a hurry to do that just yet. There was something about Alex that made Kaleb feel like he could get used to this. "I don't think you could, not with me," he said gently as Alex said he didn't want to make things awkward. As Alex asked how last night was for him, Kaleb's smile widened. "Last night was perfect, you definitely know what you're doing," he grinned. He had told Alex that he had only been with one guy before but Alex had seemed to take it in his stride and hadn't seemed bothered by that one bit. "I'd actually love to see you again if you're interested," he said before he could stop himself, knowing that he would regret it if he didn't say something. "If you'd rather this was just a one time thing, though, I'd understand," he added, knowing that he didn't want Alex to feel like he had to agree. "How was last night for you?"ALEX KOVACS

here lies a toppled god, his fall was not a small one
Alex thought it over, a soft hum falling from his lips at Kaleb's question. “I like pancakes. Sweet.” Alex answered, adjusting his head on the pillow to get a little more comfortable. A pleasantly surprised sound escaped his lips when Kaleb pressed their lips together, but he was soon melting into the kiss, his eyes fluttering shut. When they parted from the kiss, his lips felt pleasantly tingly. It almost had him leaning back in to close the distance between them and sink back into another kiss, but if he had his way, they'd simply never get up and eat something.
Alex chuckled at Kaleb's words, shaking his head slightly as he propped his head on the palm of his hand, while the other stayed close to Kaleb's hand. “No, it just—” Alex trailed off, his voice soft as he spoke. “It didn't feel right to just leave like that.” He explained even though he'd done that enough time in the past because that's usually how it goes for hook-ups, but this time around, he didn't want to just go.
He wanted to stay.
Alex looked down at what he was wearing, a chuckle falling from his lips not long after. “That's good, then.” Alex still made no move to get up, though. How could he when he felt so comfortable like this? He was quiet as he listened to Kaleb, taking a few moments to process his words and as the words clicked, his expression brightened, looking relieved to hear that he'd made it good for Kaleb. “I'm glad. You deserve for it to feel good.” Alex's words were genuine as his eyes remained fixed on Kaleb.
“I do want to see you again.” Maybe it wasn't so bad that they had moved to Mystic Falls, after all. “Last night was perfect for me too.” Alex admitted in a soft voice as he spoke. “I had a great time.” Alex added a moment later. “I don't want this to be last time I see you.” Even with his broken English, he hoped that he still had made sense. He just couldn't help but want to see Kaleb again and again.

“Pancakes it is then. I’ll have to remember that,” Kaleb nodded. He knew that was implying that there might be another morning like this in the future when he had no idea if Alex even wanted that but the words were out of his mouth before he could stop them and the truth was that he really didn’t regret it one bit. He was trying to be so good but as Alex said that he was going to stick around Kaleb couldn’t resist the urge to kiss him and a smile touched his lips at the sound it drew from Alex. It felt like it was far too soon to pull away when Kaleb did pull back but he knew that he didn’t want to push his luck. “Was that okay?” he asked, not sure whether he had accidentally crossed a line and scared Alex off despite the fact that the guy had kissed him back. As Alex said it didn’t feel right to just leave like that, Kaleb’s smile widened. “I’m glad. It’s nice waking up with you like this,” he admitted. It had been such a long time since he had last woken up with someone next to him and he had missed it more than he had realised. He couldn’t shake the feeling that there was something special about Alex and the fact that he had stayed rather than disappearing like most people probably would have really did mean the world to him. The sound of Alex’s laugh was enough to make Kaleb’s breath catch in his throat for a moment. It wasn’t something that he’d heard much of but he couldn’t deny that he liked it. “Definitely saves us from any awkward questions,” he grinned. Kaleb’s friends weren’t used to him bringing anyone home with him so truth be told he was glad that he wasn’t going to have to try and explain whatever this was to any of them especially when he was still trying to figure that out for himself. “You succeeded, it was incredible,” he said gently. Kaleb had been with one other guy before and even though they had dated for a while first it had still been awkward and uncomfortable between them. They had tried to make it work and over time it had gotten easier between them but it was nothing like how it had been with Alex. They didn’t know each other very well but there was something about him that Kaleb felt drawn to and he couldn’t seem to shake that. As Alex said that he wanted to see him again, Kaleb let out a breath he hadn’t realised he was holding. “In that case I’ll give you my number when we finally get up,” he said, his smile returning as he looked over at Alex. He really was glad that he wasn’t the only one who wanted to meet up again and Kaleb already knew that he wanted to learn as much about Alex as he could. “I did too,” he admitted as Alex said that he had a great time. As he said that he didn’t want this to be the last time they saw each other, Kaleb turned the hand that had still been running over Alex’s arm so he could take Alex’s hand in his. “It won’t be, I promise,” he said gently. “I don’t want that either.” He still wasn’t sure how someone like Alex was single but Kaleb knew better than to take it for granted. “Are you ready for something to eat?” he asked, not sure whether Alex wanted something now or whether he wanted to stay where he was for a bit longer. “You’re also welcome to take a shower, if you like. I can even lend you some clean clothes,” he added, not sure whether Alex would have anyone judge him for returning home in the same clothes he had worn the day before. ALEX KOVACS

here lies a toppled god, his fall was not a small one
“What do you like in the morning?” Alex asked a moment later because he couldn't satiate his own curiosity and so, the question spilled from his lips not long after. As Kaleb asked him if that was okay, he nodded his head with a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. “It was great.” Alex whispered. If anything, it left him aching for more.
Alex felt the same way. It's been a long time since he'd woken up to someone like this and it had felt nice. Pleasant. There was a time where such intimacy would've driven him away as he tried to nurse his broken-heart back to normal, but he didn't feel the urge to run away. Not with Kaleb.
Alex's lips stretched into a smile at Kaleb's words because he was absolutely right about that and then his assurance came along and it made his lips part to let out a quiet sigh of relief because he was really glad that he'd made it good for Kaleb. He'd promised him the night before that he'd take good care of him, show him how good it can be to just let go and have fun. It seemed like it had worked perfectly in the end.
“I would like that.” He replied honestly. “When we get up.” And with their numbers exchanged, it would make it easier for them to cross paths again. Mystic Falls wasn't a big town, but you could still easily miss the person that you want to see if their lives kept them busy and he didn't want that to happen with Kaleb because he still wanted to get to know him even more. He wanted to know so much more about him. Now with Kaleb's hand in his own, it became clear that what happened last night was anything but a one-night stand.
It wouldn't be so hard for them to let go of each other if it had been. “I'm happy to hear that.” Alex said with a soft smile tugging at the corner of his lips as he spoke. “Yeah, I feel like I'm ready to leave bed now.” Alex nodded his head a few times, brushing his hair away from his face when the movement momentarily caused a strand to obscure his vision. “A lot of questions if I go back in the same clothes, so that would be nice.” He'd rather not be teased mercilessly for last night. “I'll take a shower and join you in the kitchen.” Alex promised with a nod of his head just because he didn't want to not do anything and let Kaleb do all the hard-work. “Or, you take shower with me and we go to kitchen together?”

“Some mornings I like to have pancakes, others I prefer bacon and eggs,” Kaleb admitted. It always depended on what mood he was in but given that Alex wanted pancakes, Kaleb knew that the decision was already made. “Today definitely feels like a pancake day,” he added with a smile. Truth be told he would have been happy with whatever Alex felt like having so it didn’t really matter too much. Kaleb hadn’t been sure how Alex felt about the kiss but it wasn’t long before he was nodding and Kaleb couldn’t deny that he felt relieved. “Turns out I like kissing you,” he grinned. It didn’t feel weird or anything like that, it actually felt good. Kaleb hadn’t expected any of this to happen when they first met but he couldn’t deny that he was glad that it had. It had been a long time since he had last been with anyone but with Alex it felt natural and that was something that Kaleb hadn’t thought would happen but he was glad it had. Kaleb might not have been looking for this to happen when he and Alex met but he knew that he wouldn’t take it back for anything in the world now. They hadn’t known each other for very long but last night was already better than any night with his ex had been and Kaleb knew that he didn’t want this to be a onetime thing. “You’re not in a hurry to move either?” Kaleb chuckled as Alex said that he would like to have his number when they get up. Just the thought of never seeing Alex again was enough to make Kaleb’s heart ache so he was glad they would have a way of making sure that didn’t happen. It was crazy that someone he hardly knew should be able to make him feel that way in such a short space of time but he just couldn’t help it. For a moment as he linked their fingers together he wondered if he might be moving a little too fast but the truth was that he didn’t care. Kaleb had lost people he cared about suddenly and he had learned to make the most of the time he had with people who mattered to him and Alex fell into that category already. Nodding as Alex said he was ready to get up now, Kaleb couldn’t help but laugh as Alex said he would get a lot of questions if he went back in the same clothes. “We can’t have that. I’ll find some out for you,” he grinned, knowing that the last thing he wanted was for anything to happen to change the way that Alex felt about what had happened between them. Climbing out of bed reluctantly, Kaleb glanced back at Alex as he said he would take a shower and then join him in the kitchen. “Sure. You can use the ensuite, it’s just through there,” he said, nodding in that direction before a chuckle escaped him at Alex’s next suggestion. “I like the sound of that much more,” he said, his expression turning playful as he made his way around to the other side of the bed and held both hands out to Alex to help him to his feet. Alex nodded his head slowly at Kaleb's words. “Depends on the day then, mm?” He also felt the same way. Discovering pancakes as well as bacon and eggs had been... revolutionary. He'd enjoyed it more than anything. He had to stop himself from getting seconds each time even though he wasn't much of a sweets guy, but he had his moments. Like today. The mood simply called for it. It was a good morning and he had good company, so why not indulge a little bit? Alex chuckled at Kaleb's words because he seemed to share the same sentiment as Alex without him even mentioning it out loud.
“I agree. It does feel that way.” Alex agreed, his smile still playing on his lips as he looked at Kaleb with the same softened look on his face. “Me too. I want to do it again.” Alex admitted in a soft voice, his eyes still fixed on Kaleb as he said those words and if the pleasant tingle he felt was of any indication, he wanted to do it as soon as possible.
“Not at all. I feel good here.” Alex shook his head almost immediately, letting his thumb trace along the back of Kaleb's hand as he remained on the bed, lazy and content. “Thank you.” Alex said in a soft voice when Kaleb told him that he'll find some clothes for him. He watched Kaleb without making an attempt to get up. Not yet. His lips stretched into a grin when Kaleb pointed out that he liked the sound of the two of them showering together and as he held out his hands, Alex reached out to take them and with Kaleb's help, he finally got out of bed. He leaned in for a quick kiss before finally leaning back and letting Kaleb lead the way to the bathroom since he was still not quite familiar with the place. “I like your place. It's...” Alex trailed off as he looked around them before glancing back at Kaleb. “Home-y.” He said a moment later with a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

"Definitely. It also depends on whether I have anyone to share it with," Kaleb said, a smile forming on his face as he looked over at Alex. He liked cooking and he wasn't used to having company in the mornings but when he did he tended to to for what he knew the other person would like. It never normally mattered to Kaleb too much what he had to eat but Alex was in the mood for pancakes and Kaleb knew that he was more than happy to make that happen. Truth be told it actually felt right having something a little sweeter this morning so he was glad that Alex wanted that too. There was so much about him that Kaleb still didn't know but he knew that he was going to enjoy finding out as much as he could. As Alex said he wanted to kiss him again, Kaleb's smile widened. "Then do it. You're welcome to kiss me any time you like," Kaleb said as he brought his hand up and let it rest against Alex's cheek. He really wasn't used to this, he had accepted a while ago that he was low-key into guys but other than a few kisses along the way, all but one of his previous partners had been female. This already felt so different to anything that he had experienced before but he was already starting to think that that was a good thing. "That makes two of us," Kaleb agreed as Alex said he felt good there. If Kaleb was honest he couldn't remember the last time he had felt this relaxed and it was definitely something that he knew he was going to remember. Kaleb knew he should probably get dressed himself and he started reaching for the clothes they had discarded the night before but he stopped at Alex's suggestion that they shower together. That definitely sounded like a much better idea to him and it wasn't long before Kaleb was helping Alex to his feet. Kissing Alex back, Kaleb grabbed some clean clothes and towels for both of them before taking Alex's hand in his and leading him through to the bathroom. "I'm glad you think so," he admitted, closing the door behind them once they were inside. "I live with some friends but they're not around much these days," he added with a shrug. Setting the clothes and towels down, Kaleb turned to Alex and tugged on the front of Alex's shirt gently, using it to pull Alex towards him. "Now, about that shower," he said, a mischievous gleam in his eyes as he drew Alex in for another kiss. ALEX KOVACS

here lies a toppled god, his fall was not a small one
Alex nodded his head in agreement with Kaleb because he felt the same way too. Being with Kaleb like this had him craving something sweet when he wasn't even the type of person to have a sweet tooth. He let out a chuckle at Kaleb's next words which sounded like an invitation and it would certainly be rude to turn down such a nice invitation, so with that in mind, he leaned in close to press their lips together in a kiss that was longer than just a peck as he allowed himself to indulge like he desperately wanted to. His hand moved to cup his cheek, any worry about his lingering morning breath was pushed to the back of his mind as he instead allowed himself to sink into the kiss and forget about anything else.
Though, eventually, it was time for them to get moving or else they'll be spending the entire day on the bed with each other and just let the day slip away between their fingers. He glanced around the place before his attention drifted toward Kaleb at his comment regarding his friends. “Oh? Why's that?” Alex asked, unable to deny that he was curious to know more about Kaleb's life. He wanted to get to know him.
He watched as Kaleb set the clothes and towels down for them once they finish taking that shower together. He leaned back against the sink, just allowing himself a couple of moments enjoying the view until Kaleb turned to him and that was when he looked up to meet his eyes and he saw that mischievous look in his eyes which in turn pulled a chuckle from him. He stepped close as Kaleb pulled him close to him. He was all too happy to lean forward, meeting Kaleb half-way for a kiss as he wrapped his arms around him in a tight embrace while kissing him passionately.
He reached for his own shirt to unbutton the remaining buttons that were once keeping his shirt together and rolled his shoulders back to let the material flop on the ground before he reached for his boxers to finish getting undressed before dragging Kaleb with him under the showerhead where showering because the second thing he was focusing on while kissing Kaleb was the first.

Kaleb knew he was lucky to have his friends from home still around him and he had made other friends during his time in Mystic Falls as well. He had known that leaving New Orleans was the right thing for him and it meant the world to him that his friends had decided to make the move with him but they had all finished college now as well and they hadn’t said it in so many words but he suspected that at least some of them were thinking about heading home to New Orleans. Kaleb knew that he couldn’t do that, everywhere he looked he had been surrounded by memories of his parents and he knew that he couldn’t put himself through that again. He wasn’t even sure whether the supernatural community would accept him any longer, his friends had helped him adjust after he’d triggered his werewolf curse but he had kept his distance from the rest of the community. He didn’t fit in there the way he once had but Mystic Falls had become home to him and the fact that he had the pack around him now meant the world. If he hadn’t made his way to Mystic Falls then he wouldn’t have met Alex and even though they had only just met, Kaleb couldn’t deny that he felt a connection to the other guy and that was something that he knew better than to ignore. He had already kissed Alex once that morning and he had worried that he’d perhaps overstepped at first but Alex hadn’t seemed to mind and it had been easy for Kaleb to say that Alex could kiss him anytime he liked as well. Alex didn’t even seem to hesitate before doing so and that alone was enough to draw a smile to Kaleb’s lips as he kissed him back. This kiss was longer and Kaleb leaned into Alex’s touch as the other guy’s hand came to rest against his cheek. Kaleb let himself get lost in the moment as they kissed and he moved a little closer to Alex, enjoying the feeling of Alex’s lips against his own. Eventually though they had to move and Kaleb shrugged as Alex asked why his friends weren’t around much anymore. “Most of them have graduated as well and they all have their own lives I guess. We’re still close but I think they miss New Orleans. That’s where we came from,” he explained. All of his friends had families back in New Orleans but Kaleb didn’t. His parents were his family and they were gone. He still had Isaac but the truth was that he had yet to even meet his twin since Isaac hadn’t been around either but he knew that was just one of those things. Starting to gather together everything that he and Alex were going to need, he felt a chuckle escape him as he realised that Alex was watching him. “Like what you see?” he teased, his expression turning amused as he looked over at Alex for a moment before grabbing some towels for the two of them. Normally he would have gotten dressed, or at least partly dressed like Alex, but they were going to be heading straight into the shower anyway so he wasn’t worried. Once Alex was on his feet as well Kaleb couldn’t resist drawing Alex to him for a kiss and he couldn’t deny that he was pleased when Alex met him half way. He was a little surprised by the passion that Alex poured into the kiss but it was something that Kaleb returned with ease. He couldn’t deny that he was attracted to Alex, there was something about him that was almost intoxicating and he didn’t offer up any resistance as Alex undressed and drew him into the shower. “You know, I’m pretty sure I’m getting addicted to kissing you,” Kaleb admitted as he pulled back to catch his breath for a moment before leaning forward and kissing Alex again. “There’s just something about you, I can’t quite put my finger on it.”ALEX KOVACS

here lies a toppled god, his fall was not a small one
Alex released a soft hum at Kaleb's words. “New Orleans. I heard good things.” Well, mostly good things but he didn't think it'd be wise to bad-mouth someone's hometown with such ease. It would be rude. “Is it different? From Mystic Falls.” Alex asked not long after because he couldn't deny the fact that he was curious to know more about New Orleans and maybe, just maybe, he'll plan a visit in the near future but it still doesn't feel good leaving his family behind without knowing for a fact that they are safe and sound. But in a town like Mystic Falls, you just can't stay out of trouble for too long. It always finds you.
Always.
Kaleb's comment was enough to pull a grin on his lips as he openly checked Kaleb out. “I do. A lot.” Alex answered with no hint of shame in his words because he definitely enjoyed the view.
Alex couldn't help the chuckle that escaped his lips at Kaleb's comment, a mischievous look momentarily crossing over his features. “I am, too.” He admitted in a breathless voice, looking at Kaleb through hooded eyes and his next comment made him smile. “I guess there's something — magical — about me.” The way he smiled was teasing but oh how right he was with that comment. Though he just couldn't out himself in front of Kaleb like that. Not when he didn't know for sure if he was aware of the existence of the supernatural world or not. Hell, the other could be a supernatural being and he wouldn't know it.
“But, same for you.” Alex added in that broken English of his. “You're magical, too.” Alex let his hand linger on Kaleb's chest before moving his other hand to bring Kaleb back down for another kiss.

Kaleb thought about it for a moment as Alex asked if New Orleans was different to Mystic Falls, not sure how to explain it without giving away the truth about the supernatural world. “It’s very different,” he said at last. “There are a number of different groups there who want things done their way. None of them can seem to agree on anything,” he explained. Tensions between the different factions in New Orleans had been strained to say the least when Kaleb was living there and he wouldn’t be surprised if it hadn’t changed. If witches and warlocks were caught using magic by vampires then it was a death sentence so Kaleb definitely felt a lot freer in Mystic Falls. Kaleb knew that was why his parents hadn’t liked it at first when he’d befriended people of different species, they had wanted him to stick solely to the magical community but that hadn’t been for him. He had chosen his own friends for who they were rather than what they were instead and he didn’t regret it one bit. He couldn’t help but laugh as Alex didn’t try and hide the way he checked him out this time. “That makes two of us,” Kaleb grinned. Alex was handsome, that much had been clear to him right from the start, but what had surprised him was how sweet he seemed. It was endearing to say the least and he knew that he was going to have to make sure that it wasn’t the last time they got to see each other. “Then I guess we’ll just have to keep going,” Kaleb said, his smile widening as he leaned forward and kissed Alex again. He knew that he would never tire of the feeling of the other guy’s lips against his own and right now he just couldn’t seem to get enough. As Alex said that there was something magical about him, Kaleb studied him carefully about it. It was clear that he was teasing but there was a part of Kaleb that couldn’t help but wonder whether Alex actually was a part of the supernatural world. It would definitely make it easier if he was since it would mean that they wouldn’t have to keep any secrets from each other but at the same time Kaleb knew that a lot of people had thought of him as an abomination before he was born and he would be lying if he said that he wasn’t worried that Alex might see him that way too if he knew. Shaking his head, Kaleb forced himself to snap out of it. “You’re right about that, you’ve clearly put a spell on me,” Kaleb said, his tone teasing in return as his eyes met Alex’s. As Alex said that he was magical too, Kaleb’s smile returned. “I’m glad you think so,” he said, bringing his hand up to rest against the hand Alex had lingering on his chest and linking their fingers together as Kaleb kissed him back. here lies a toppled god, his fall was not a small one
Alex released a soft hum at that, having heard of the conflict that was occurring in New Orleans. "Good thing you are here then. Away from it." That's not to say that Mystic Falls is devoid of any issues - it's got its own issues surrounding it from every corner, but at least it wasn't like New Orleans.
Alex quite liked the fact that the two of them seemed to be in their own little bubble, it seemed like nothing could ever snap them out of it as they exchanged sweet and gentle words between one another, each word escaping their lips shrouded with honesty. It was a new change for Alex, one that he liked. Quite a lot, actually. He let out a chuckle at Kaleb's comment about him putting a spell on him. It opened a good passage for a revelation about what he was, but he stopped himself from spilling the truth because there was a very good chance that it would end up pushing Kaleb away and he selfishly wanted to keep him close for a little while longer because he genuinely liked his presence. He knew that not everyone could take the truth about the existence of the supernatural with ease. It would simply end up pushing them far away as they'd instead start making a conscious effort to avoid you. So, he knew better than to get carried away. He will keep the truth from Kaleb for just a little while longer.
For now, he allowed himself to melt into the kiss and enjoy the feeling of Kaleb's fingers intertwined with his own. "Feels nice." He said, his eyes still momentarily closed before he opened them and let them rest on Kaleb once again. He closed the distance between them again, allowing himself to melt in the embrace of Kaleb once more and to also get distracted for a little while longer.
Eventually, he pulled away, lips pleasantly tingling before they were pulled into a smile. "We should go out." The water was starting to get a little cold but with a subtle move of his hand, he kept it hot instead. "Unless you want to stay for a while longer." Alex added, his eyes relaxing on Kaleb once more.
