– I freed myself from words never said –
Jed couldn't help but feel as though there was something missing – but as he stared at the work out equipment on the ground, he couldn't quite put his finger on what was missing. Little did he know that what was missing wasn't an object that was out of place but an actual person. A student had been wiped from everyone's memories. A werewolf that Jed had once trained with, a young pup with a heavy heart and an even heavier burden. That pup used to carry the equipment and put them away after they were done but now, there was no one for the job. The school felt a little different than usual, there were rooms assigned but if you take a look into who it was assigned to, the area would be blank. There were picture frames of people, a happy little family but in the middle, there would be an open space in the middle of where a person once used to be. Nobody could tell what was missing, though. Or who, for that matter. Nobody had any recollection and Jed was no different.
Jed carried the equipment and put them away where they were supposed to be and even after the task was done, he still couldn't help but feel that something was off. But then again, nothing has been the same ever since Ben's father had made himself the biggest threat to the supernatural world. Just the other day, a few students had been attacked on their way back from school and suddenly, the very place that was built to keep people safe suddenly became a hotspot for Raziel's lackeys to pluck them one by one. The witches had thrown a powerful barrier spell to keep everybody safe but it was the danger of going back home that made Jed feel sick to his stomach.
Jed shrugged off his jacket and tossed it on the ground, leaving behind his tank top. Jed reached for the boxing gloves not long after to put them on. In hopes of getting his mind off things, he decided to take his stress out on the punching bag. He'd been training a lot more often these days to be able to use his vampire abilities without messing up. After turning, he couldn't quite control his speed so when he sped to places, he bumped into things but he was a lot more graceful with it now. Jed pictured Ben's father right before him as he delivered countless punches into the punching bag.

For months now they’d all been living with the threat of his father hanging over their heads and the truth was that Ben hated it. He knew that leaving town to try and lead his father away wasn’t going to do any good, Raziel seemed hell bent on eradicating all supernaturals from the world and Ben knew that they needed to find a way to stop him. The angel seemed to have gathered followers, a couple of kids from the school had been attacked and thankfully they had managed to escape but Ben knew that it was only a matter of time before there was another attack like the one that had resulted in Hope and Josie losing their lives. As it turned out Raziel had had a witch amplify his powers and that was why he had ended up putting up such a good fight against all of them but Ben wasn’t sure whether that had been a temporary spell or whether it was going to make things difficult for them again. They had struggled to hurt him last time and Ben knew that if they didn’t stop him then the world as they knew it was going to come to an end. That was something that they couldn’t let happen so they needed to work together in order to stop him. As if that wasn’t bad enough there seemed to be something else going on in Mystic Falls as well and Ben couldn’t quite put his finger on what it was. Something seemed off at the school and it was more than the fact that by having so many of them in one place they were sitting ducks for Raziel and his followers. Strange things were going on in town and it definitely wasn’t the first time. Ben knew that supernaturals were drawn to Mystic Falls, he had been and the same was true for so many others around town. Both the town and the school were a safe haven for anyone who was different and Ben knew that that was as it should be. He had been simply existing rather than actually living his life before he made his way to Mystic Falls but Jed had changed everything for him and so had the others so Ben knew that they would figure out whatever they were up against now as well. Unfortunately everything that was going on was taking a toll on all of them and Ben could see that. He refused to give up hope that they were going to find a way through this, though, and Ben knew that he wasn’t going to let the people he cared about give up either. That was why he ended up heading to the gym that day, he had heard that Jed was there and Ben wanted to check on his fiancé and make sure that he was doing alright with all of this. Jed was used to carrying around the weight of the world on his shoulders but he didn’t have to do that now because Ben was there to share the load and that was never going to change. “Let me guess, you’re imaging Raziel standing there?” Ben asked as he saw how hard Jed was going at it. Without another word he moved his way to the opposite side of the punching bag and held it still for Jed while he continued punching it. “I was going to ask how you were doing but I think I’ve got my answer.”JED SALTZMAN

Jed stopped punching the bag in rapid succession when he heard the sound of approaching footsteps and soon enough, his eyes were relaxing on Ben. He slowed down his punches, but he still delivered them to the punching bag right in front of him. "Is it that obvious?" Jed asked, sounding a little breathless as he added a little more force to each of his punches. It definitely helped ease some of his stress to just imagine Ben's father right in front of him instead of the punching bag. He sent Ben a thankful smile when he held the bag still for him so he could hit it better. "Thanks," Jed said with a quick nod of his head before he delivered an under-hook to the punching bag then he paused at Ben's words. He hesitated before delivering his next punch because he wasn't doing okay - he doubted that any of them were. Especially with everything that was going on.
Once again, they were up against a threat that was proving to be too powerful especially after he managed to get a witch on his side. You'd think that with a super squad like theirs, they'd be able to take him on, but he was an angel and he was growing in power each day which only made Jed feel more sick to his stomach. He didn't want to lose any of his friends or family again. Losing Josie and Hope had hurt enough and while their deaths had been brief, it didn't make it hurt any less. "Yeah, I guess this speaks volumes, huh?" Jed started throwing punches again, again and again, taking all of his anger, frustration, and mostly fear out on the punching bag. "But imagining Raziel being here instead of this bag helps a lot." Jed added, still sounding a bit breathless as he talked. "What about you? Are you okay?"

“It is to me,” Ben nodded, a smile touching his lips as he looked over at Jed. He really couldn’t blame Jed, Raziel had turned their lives upside down and he seemed determined to do the same thing again not just to them but to everyone the world over. Ben had no idea what had happened to make the angel go from wanting to experiment and see what a child who was half angel and half human was capable of to wanting to wipe out everyone who was supernatural all around the world but it didn’t matter. Raziel had to be stopped and Ben was certain that they were going to find a way to do just that. “Any time,” he offered, knowing that it was easier to hit the bag when someone was holding it still. Putting his shoulder against the bag, Ben held it in place while Jed punched again. “I can’t get over how much stronger you are now,” he admitted. Ben had known that it would happen when Jed became a hybrid but there were still times when it surprised him anyway. Ben had supported Jed when he had decided that he wanted to become a hybrid, he knew that his fiancé had done it so he could become stronger and also so that they could have a future together which wouldn’t result in Jed continuing to age while Ben remained the same and Ben was determined to fight for that future with everything that he had. The upcoming fight wasn’t going to be an easy one but last time they had fought Raziel they hadn’t known what they were really up against. They had been caught off guard and in the end Josie and Hope had lost their lives. Others had been hurt recently by Raziel’s followers but Ben knew that they were going to find a way to stop his father, they had to. “Yeah, it does. I know you train to de-stress.” Hitting something was a good way of letting off steam and Ben was glad that Jed had an outlet but he hoped that Jed would talk to him as well. They were partners and even though it had only been a little over a year since they first met, they had come a long way in that time and Ben knew that they were always going to look out for each other. “I bet. I know you’ve always liked the idea of punching him,” he chuckled. Jenna had let slip that first day at the Saltzman house that Jed had been caught Googling how to punch an angel and Ben knew that Jed’s feelings towards Raziel hadn’t changed. “You can always talk to me, you know that,” he added gently, not wanting Jed to feel like he needed to bottle anything up with him. As Jed asked if he was okay, Ben let a sigh. “Okay with my father wanting to kill everyone I love and then some? Never,” he breathed. “I’m ashamed to even share the same DNA as him.” In the beginning Ben had thought that Jed and the others would blame him for his father’s actions but they hadn’t done and Ben was grateful to them for that but that didn’t stop him from still feeling guilty about bringing all of this to their doorstep. Jed looked over at Ben with a small smile on his lips. "Trust me, it still feels a bit trippy to me, even now." He had accidentally broken a few things back at home after he first turned into a hybrid because he was just not used to his own strength and then he would speed past and bump into things because the fact that he could run so quickly was still so new to him, but he was doing a lot better with that now, except for the whole heightened emotions part because now, if he was feeling stressed or angry about something, he would feel it tenfold. It was something that he still had to work on.
"Yeah." Back then, in order to de-stress he'd push around the new kids but that version of him was long gone and it was never coming back. However, this new version of him found a much healthier outlet to avoid hurting others and instead, he took his stress out on inanimate objects to feel just a little bit better about what was currently happening. Jed let out a brief chuckle when he remembered how even back then, he used to imagine punching Ben's father. Jed eventually slowed down his punches as he continued listening to Ben. He eventually stopped altogether and soon enough, he was taking off his boxing gloves so he could put them down. "I get that, Ben. Trust me." Jed had always felt ashamed to be his father's son, but it's what they choose to do with their lives that sets them different from their fathers. "You may share your DNA with him, but you're nothing like your father." Jed assured him in a soft voice. Since Ben was being honest with him and talking to him about what was bothering him, Jed knew that it was time for him to do the same thing.
"To tell you the truth, Ben, I'm—" Jed paused for a moment, struggling to find a way to describe how he really felt. "I'm scared." Jed finally said. "There's this feeling that I can't shake off... I feel it at the pit of my stomach. It's — It's dread, I guess. I don't know what your father's planning and it's this uncertainty that's killing me. I'm worried that we're biting off more than we can chew, I guess..."

As Jed said the new abilities still felt a bit trippy, Ben couldn’t help but laugh. “I can imagine. You’re doing a lot better than you were though,” he chuckled. Ben knew that it all came down to practice, he’d had to learn how to use his abilities once he’d figured out what they were and it was the same for Jed. “I am glad you’re more resilient now than you were,” he added with a smile. As a werewolf Jed had been powerful and Ben had always known that he could look after himself but becoming a hybrid had heightened that power and it would take a lot more to hurt Jed now than it had done before and that was something that Ben was definitely glad about. He had never liked the idea of Jed getting hurt so anything that would make that less likely to happen was fine in his book. “It’s good that you have an outlet like this,” Ben admitted. He knew that there were other ways that Jed could let out his stress and frustration and Jed had already told him that he used to take it out on the new kids at the school but he wasn’t the same person now, he had grown during the time that Ben had known him and the truth was that he was proud of the person that Jed had become. As Jed stopped punching the bag, Ben moved around to the other side when he realised that Jed was taking off his gloves. It looked like he was done for the time being and Ben automatically found himself reaching for Jed’s hand. It was rare when they were together that they weren’t holding hands or didn’t have some small point of contact and in that moment he needed that contact. “I know,” Ben nodded as Jed said he wasn’t anything like his father. “The same goes for you, you’re nothing like yours either,” he said before considering that for a moment. “You’re not like your biological father, at least.” When it came to Ric it was a different matter because they were alike in some respects but Ben knew that Jed was nothing like the man who had ordered him to kill his best friend and trigger his curse. One thing Ben knew was that he could always be honest with Jed and just saying those words out loud felt like a weight had been lifted. He had tried keeping things from Jed once and it hadn’t worked so Ben knew that he needed to be honest with his fiancé. Looking over at Jed as he spoke again, Ben’s expression softened as he said he was scared and Ben gave Jed’s hand a gentle squeeze. “I get it, I’m scared too,” he admitted. “The stakes are higher than anything we’ve faced before. This doesn’t just affect us, it affects the whole world but we’re not alone in this. We’ve got our friends and family around us and I know we can beat Raziel as long as we work together.” Ben refused to even think of the angel as his father any longer, they might share the same DNA but Raziel had never been interested in being a parent and the fact that he’d cursed Ben all those years ago just showed how detached he was and Ben knew that it was about time that he started treating the angel the same way. Jed definitely felt like he had changed a lot from how he was like when he was first turned into a hybrid. There were a lot of things that felt different after his change, but with time, it got easier and with practice, what he once deemed impossible to master became a lot easier. It was his determination to not mess this up that pushed him forward until he was certain that he had it under control.
"I'd be really upset if I wasn't. I broke a lot of furniture back home to get to this point." Jed joked with a half-smile tugging at the corner of his lips. Getting used to his heightened strength had been – tricky, but then again, Jed became a hybrid knowing all too well the challenges that he was going to face and he had absolutely zero regrets. "Thank you. I am, too." Jed's words were honest as he spoke, his smile visible on his lips still. "It's definitely a much healthier outlet than the one that Jed 1.0 had. It used to be punching kids, so." Jed breathed out a chuckle at that before he shook his head.
"I know." Jed replied, his voice soft as he spoke. They both had terrible biological parents, but they were nothing like them. They were kinder, and a lot more humane. They were survivors.
Jed squeezed Ben's hand too when he admitted that he was scared, too. They had a lot to lose in this fight. One wrong move and Raziel would win and they absolutely cannot let him win. "I really hope we win this, Ben." Jed spoke up, his eyes momentarily relaxing on his hand that was in Ben's. "And I hope that none of us get hurt because I absolutely can't live with the thought of losing anyone." Every single person who was involved in this meant so much to Jed that the thought of losing them made him feel sick to his stomach.

Becoming a hybrid had been Jed’s decision and it was one that Ben knew Jed hadn’t taken lightly but making the decision and then being faced with the reality of it afterwards were two very different things. Ben knew that it hadn’t been easy for Jed to get to grips with his new abilities but he had tried to be patient while he figured things out and in the end that had paid off. It didn’t matter to Ben that Jed had ended up wrecking the house a few times while he was getting used to it, those were only things and as far as Ben was concerned they really didn’t matter. What mattered to him was Jed and that was the way that it was always going to be. “You did but that doesn’t matter. You could have broken a lot more if you’d needed to,” Ben chuckled before his expression softened. “I’m so proud of you.” Jed had come so far in such a short space of time and now he seemed like he was taking everything in his stride once more. He was much more resilient now than he was and that gave Ben hope that things would be different the next time they faced his father. “I definitely prefer this outlet for you then,” he teased. “I’m pretty sure no one sees you as that guy now though. Jed 2.0 is here to stay and I kinda love him,” he chuckled as he leaned forward and pressed his lips against Jed’s. Ben was really glad that neither of them were like their biological fathers because he didn’t doubt that the world would be a very different place if they were. The way Jed squeezed his hand was reassuring and Ben offered Jed a gentle smile in return. “I do too,” he admitted, giving Jed’s hand a gentle squeeze this time. “We’ll do everything we can to keep everyone safe. He caught us off guard last time especially with the way he had his strength enhanced but now we know what we’re dealing with he won’t get the chance to do that this time. We’re much stronger now than we were before,” he said gently. “We’re going to beat him, we have to believe that,” he added. “Now, do you want to keep training or shall we get out of here?” he asked, knowing that he would be happy either way. If Jed wanted to keep training then Ben knew that he would quite happily step in as Jed’s sparring partner. JED SALTZMAN

Jed felt a smile form on his lips when Ben told him that he was proud of him. He definitely knew what to say to get Jed feeling all sorts of things, huh? His next words were enough to pull a chuckle from his lips before he nodded his head in agreement. It was definitely a much healthier outlet and it saved the new kids from having to heal from a bruised cheek or a split lip, so that was also a good thing. "Yeah. I'm definitely glad about that." It seemed like Jed 1.0 was buried and long gone, so that was a good thing. It meant that his attempt at changing had been successful. He was glad to have shed the skin that his father forced upon him to be just like him when the man himself had never been a good father. He just wanted a killer - like him. "He kinda loves you, too, by the way." Jed added with a small smirk tugging at the corner of his lips, pretending as though he wasn't talking about himself.
Jed nodded his head, knowing that it was importantly to believe that they were going to win because it was that belief that was going to give them the push they all need in order to put an end to the homicidal angel before he could do any more harm. "God, I hope you're right." Jed breathed when Ben told him that they are going to beat him. He didn't even want to think about what might happen if they don't win and so, he discarded the thought to the side before it could fester and drive him mad right then and there.
Jed considered it for a moment and judging by the tension he still felt collected in his shoulders, he knew that he needed a little more before he could call this session a success. "Spar with me." Jed said with a quick nod of his head. "It might just be what I need." Jed added a moment later as he stepped back onto the sparring mat, waiting for Ben to join him.

Ben hadn’t known the old version of Jed but he had heard a lot about him and he knew that Jed was much happier with this new version of himself. Ben knew that he would have fallen for Jed regardless, there had been a connection between them right from the start and he knew that Jed had felt it too. He hadn’t thought that he would end up with anyone again after Ashur died and he hadn’t wanted to be with anyone for more than a one night stand before Jed came along. They were meant to be together and Ben knew that meant through the good and the bad but there was a part of him that knew that the old Jed might not have necessarily been ready for any of this, not the way the new Jed was. “I think everyone else is too, I’ve seen the way they look up to you,” Ben said, a smile touching his lips as he looked over at Jed. As Jed spoke again, Ben couldn’t help but laugh. “That’s good because he’s going to be stuck with me even more when we get married,” he chuckled. Jed had already become a hybrid so they could be together but getting married would make it official and Ben couldn’t wait. Unfortunately they still had the threat of his father hanging over their heads and Ben hated that. He knew that it was going to come to a head sooner or later but when that time came they would face it together. It wasn’t going to be easy but Ben was certain that they would find a way to win because the alternative was something that he couldn’t even bring himself to think about. Hope and Josie had both died at his father’s hands already and Ben knew that they couldn’t let that happen to anyone else. “I am, we have to believe it,” he said gently. They couldn’t afford to lose, not with the whole supernatural world at stake. It had been clear that Jed had needed to let off some steam when Ben had arrived and he couldn’t blame his fiancé for that. He hadn’t known whether Jed was done or whether he still had more that he wanted to do so it was an easy enough question to ask and Ben nodded as Jed said that the two of them sparring together might just be what he needed. “In that case, let’s do this,” he nodded, slipping his jacket off and tossing it to the side before joining Jed on the sparring mat. "To be honest with you, I still have no idea how I managed to lead a pack. I don't know what I'm doing half of the time." Jed breathed out a chuckle after that, shaking his head briefly. "I look up to them, too. Every single one. I've learned a lot from everyone and I wouldn't be the person that I am today without them. Without you." Jed changed for the better thanks to them and he absolutely can't imagine doing any of this without their help. "Oh, man, you're right." Jed pretends to have forgotten before his lips stretched into a grin not long after which showcased that he was just playing.
Jed nodded his head in agreement with Ben. He will just have to force himself into believing that they are going to win because if he stops even for a moment, those thoughts are going to win and they will inevitably drive him insane. "You're right." Jed agreed with Ben. "I'll believe it." Jed added with a promise in the tone of his voice. From there, it was time for them to spar. "Alright. Don't you dare go easy on me." Jed rolled his shoulders back, working on loosening the muscles there to lessen the chances of him pulling a muscle or anything like that. Not long after, Jed started his sparring session with Ben. It wasn't as animalistic as it used to be with some of the wolves that he used to spar with, but that was only so that the wolves could get all that tension and anger out of their system. Whatever was left was worked out through actually working out. It worked most of the time. Most being the keyword there. Jed worked on attempting to tackle Ben down onto the sparring mat, wanting to get the upperhand.

“I don’t know about that, you made it look effortless a lot of the time,” Ben assured him. From what he had seen, Jed had a real way with people. He knew that it wasn’t always like that as Jed had already told him that he was a different person in the past but the Jed that Ben knew was someone that the pack had looked up to and truth be told he wouldn’t be surprised if they still did even though Jed had decided to hand his Alpha status over to Hope and become a hybrid. “I can’t take any of the credit, you were already an amazing person by the time I got here but the real credit goes to you. You had an awful start to life but you turned it all around,” he said, a smile forming on his face as he looked over at Jed. He really was incredible and Ben knew that his opinion of Jed was never going to change. “I’m glad you found people like that though, you deserve it.” There really wasn’t a doubt in Ben’s mind about that. As Jed spoke again, Ben couldn’t help but laugh. “His chances to back out are getting slimmer by the day,” Ben teased, unable to resist closing the distance between them and pressing his lips against Jed’s. It was good to be able to joke talk to Jed like this but eventually it always came back to the threat that his father posed and Ben knew that he just had to believe that that would all be over soon. They were all working hard to make sure that they put a stop to the angel’s plan to eradicate everyone who was supernatural and they were all training to become stronger. They couldn’t be caught off guard like they were the first time around and they couldn’t afford to take any more casualties. They were fortunate that Hope and Josie had both come back but Ben knew that he didn’t want anyone else to get hurt. “That’s good. We’re going to do everything we can to stop him,” he nodded. That meant taking the threat seriously and Ben knew that they were definitely all doing that. As Jed told him not to go easy on him, Ben couldn’t help but laugh. “I wouldn’t dream of it, I know you’d kill me if I did,” he chuckled. Stretching out his muscles so he wouldn’t end up pulling anything, Ben soon joined Jed on the mat and he countered Jed’s moves, doing his best to stand his ground and stay on his feet until he saw an opening. As soon as he did he moved forward, trying to catch Jed off guard and tackle him onto the mat. JED SALTZMAN

I've become a bit of a mythology buff. Since I'm into a mythological guy that's, you know, buff.

– I freed myself from words never said –
Jed let out a brief chuckle at Ben's words. "I'm really good at looking like I have it all under control." It had always been his biggest fear to turn out to be like his biological father and for a while, he did turn out to be like him. Mean, cruel, unforgiving, and a bully. But then, he started to realize that he was just living as the version that his biological father wanted him to be. That was not who he actually was and he started realizing that with the help of everyone around him and he was definitely starting to like this version of him a lot more than the one before that. "Look at you trying to butter me up. There's a ring already on my finger, you don't have to be so smooth." Jed teased light-heartedly, his grin resting on his lips. "But thanks, though. I am glad to have everyone in my life." Jed really counted himself as one of the lucky ones to have this kind of support all around him. Adjusting to being a hybrid wasn't an easy feat, but he had managed thanks to everyone for always being there for him. "I dunno, he seems like he wants to stay, so, I'm not gonna try and change his mind." Jed teased with a half-smile resting on his lips.
Jed nodded his head slowly at Ben's words. "Yeah, I know we will." It was the journey that leads up to that point that scares Jed the most. So much can happen before they get to stop Raziel and it terrifies him. But, he will just have to think positively for now. He has to. Or else he'll lock all of his loved ones in a room and never let them out of his sight.
Jed grinned at Ben's words before he watched as Ben flexed his muscles which kind of distracted Jed at first before he brought his attention back to the current sparring session that was about to start. It was a dance from there with Jed narrowly avoiding Ben's tackles and him trying to do the same thing to Ben and by the end of it, he was sweaty and panting heavily. In the end, he was the one to call quits when his body was finally satiated and all his pent-up energy was expelled in a way that was a lot healthier than his previous methods. Jed laid there on the mat, one hand on his stomach while the other was by his head as he caught his breath. "Damn." Jed breathed out with a lazy grin resting on his lips. "That was–" Jed paused to catch his breath. "Dope." Jed concluded moments later, his grin still present on his lips. "But now I kind of don't wanna move. Ever again." Jed added a little too dramatically as he fought to catch his breath.

“You’re right about that. You always seem to know what people need,” Ben said, a smile forming on his face as he looked over at Jed. He had a way of connecting with people that Ben hadn’t seen for a long time and he genuinely cared about those around him. Jed hadn’t had the best start to life but he was definitely making up for it now, that was for sure. Ben hadn’t known the person that Jed was before but as far as he was concerned, this Jed was incredible. There had been a connection between them from that very first day and it just seemed to be getting stronger the more time they spent together. “We haven’t made it down the aisle yet so I’ve still got some work to do,” Ben teased right back, unable to resist. “Besides, I have to keep up with you,” he added with a grin. Jed always seemed to know the right thing to say so Ben knew that he had to try and do the same, not to mention what he’d said was the truth. “You’re welcome,” Ben said, a smile touching his lips as he looked over at Jed. He really had done all the hard work himself and Ben wanted him to be proud of that. “That’s good because I’d just have to drag him back kicking and screaming if he did try to leave,” he chuckled. He knew Jed meant it, they had been through so much together and Ben wasn’t worried at all about Jed leaving. They were made for each other, he was certain of that. “He doesn’t get to win and we’ll make sure he doesn’t hurt anyone else.” Raziel had already cursed him for thousands of years and he had killed Hope and Josie, Ben knew that they weren’t going to let him get to anyone else. His father had to be stopped and he was certain that they were going to do that, they had to. It wasn’t just their lives on the line this time around it was the lives of every supernatural around the world and Ben knew that they weren’t going to give up. Seeing the way Jed got distracted while he stretched his muscles was enough to bring a smile to Ben’s lips. “Like what you see?” he teased before taking his spot on the mat ready for their sparring session. It wasn’t easy at all, Jed had a lot of practice with this but Ben had been around for a long time so he knew how to hold his own. By the time they had finished sparring he needed to get his breath back and he found himself lying on the mat next to Jed, his hand seeking out Jed’s hand the way it always did when they were together so they could have that small point of contact. “It was. I can’t remember the last time I had a workout like that,” Ben admitted as he turned and looked at Jed. “I don’t know about ever again but I could definitely stay here for the rest of the day,” he chuckled. “We really shouldn’t though. Am I gonna have to carry you home?” he teased. JED SALTZMAN

– I freed myself from words never said –
Jed's lips stretched into a small smile at Ben's words. "I sure hope so." Jed added a moment later in a soft voice. He let out a chuckle at Ben's words when he said that he still has some work to do. "In that case..." Jed trailed off with a small hum. "You can keep buttering me up." Jed concluded a moment later. "Just 'til we put a stop to your dad, then we can revisit the whole walkin' down the isle thing." It would certainly be a good way to celebrate stopping Ben's dad. But for now, he knew it was a top priority of theirs to stop Ben's dad before he actually goes through with his plan of wiping away all supernatural creatures from existing. He was a damn psychopath who was capable of going through with that plan of his. "Oh, I dunno 'bout reaching my level, but you can keep trying, yeah. I'll give you pointers." Jed teased, pretending as though he was some kind of master when it came to flirting and being smooth when he just blurted things out most of the time. He was definitely not that smooth. "And they say romance is dead." Jed joked when Ben mentioned dragging him back.
Jed nodded his head slowly at Ben's next words. "Now that I'm a hybrid, do you think that I can punch him again without shattering my wrist this time around? I really wanna punch him." The last time Jed punched him, it felt like he was hitting pure steel. It didn't even hurt the angel as much as it had hurt Jed. He doubted that it would be any different hitting him as a hybrid, though. So he will just have to settle with stopping the angel through other means.
"Huh?" Jed finally blinked out of his daze at Ben's question. "Oh." Jed cleared his throat and closed his mouth, wondering if he was drooling. "God, yeah. A little too much, I think." Jed answered a moment later, finally regaining his focus as he soon resumed stretching so he wouldn't pull a muscle.
"God, yeah, same here." Jed breathed out a chuckle, his eyes fixed on the ceiling. "I missed this feeling." Jed felt like he had no more tension concentrated at his shoulders. It felt... great, to put it simply. "Why not?' Jed almost whined when Ben mentioned that they shouldn't stay here for the rest of the day. "Maybe." Jed said with a grin tugging at the corner of his lips. He pretended to open his arms as if inviting Ben to carry him all while keeping his hand in Ben's, still. "No, I'm kidding. I'm a big guy, I can get up on my own. Watch." Jed said and pretty much remained like that without actually moving. "I'm building up to it, don't worry." Jed said after a few moments have passed without him actually moving.
Finally, finally he got up from where he was laying down with a loud groan falling from his lips. "Missing the floor already, not gonna lie." Jed breathed out. "C'mon, up you go." With his hand still in Ben's, he helped the other up, too. "Wanna hit up the showers before we head home? I feel unpleasantly sticky."
