“So would I, I’m looking forward to it,” Alec said, a smile touching his lips as he leaned forward and kissed Lucian to seal the deal. He couldn’t remember anything that had happened the night before but it really did look like they had thrown caution to the wind and had some fun and Alec wanted to do that again while he could actually remember. It was tempting to suggest that they should recreate some of that fun now but they had other things that they needed to do first and Alec knew that he couldn’t afford to get distracted by Lucian just yet. It still seemed surreal that this was actually happening but he wouldn’t have it any other way. It felt good knowing that Lucian was back in his life again, Alec had wanted that for such a long time and he had thought about trying to find someone who could help him track Lucian down but something had always held him back from doing that because he hadn’t known what he would have done if he’d found that Lucian had settled down with someone else. As it was he needn’t have worried about that after all and now they had the chance to build a life together so Alec knew that he wanted to make the most of it. “It is. I hope they’ll let us help them but it might take time to earn their trust.” They had been hurt before and Alec knew that he wouldn’t blame them for being wary but he and Lucian weren’t like the people they had come across before and he hoped that in time they would see that. “I hoped you’d say that,” Alec chuckled. He knew that he had a long way to go because Lucian had always been incredibly charming but he knew that he wanted to try. “That doesn’t surprise me. I heard rumours from other hunters and supernaturals during my travels but I never thought I’d end up here,” he admitted. He had always tried to resist but in the end the desire to find his father and help the kids had ended up being far too great. “Perfect,” he nodded as Lucian said that there was no time like the present. Heading to Lucian’s bedroom once he’d helped with the dishes, Alec pulled on his t shirt along with his shoes and was ready by the time Lucian had emerged from the shower and gotten dressed. Alec didn’t particularly like being stuck in yesterday’s clothes but he knew that he could have a shower and change into something clean when they got back to his place so he knew that he could put up with it for the time being. “I’m ready too,” he nodded before hesitating for a moment. “Would it be okay if I held your hand?” he asked, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. They had agreed to stay married but they were still figuring things out and he wasn’t sure what Lucian would be comfortable with and what he wouldn’t. “I left my car at the Grill so we should swing by there first and pick it up before we heard back to mine.”LUCIAN ACKERMAN

━ if you bled, I'll bleed the same. if you're scared, I'm on my way ━
Lucian returned the kiss with ease, leaning back with a small smile still visible on his lips. With everything that had taken place, it was still a lot to process. Especially the fact that they were married now. He had grown used to being on his own but now he had a husband and soon enough his big apartment will have another person living in it, too. It was a good type of progress, for sure. “All we have now is time.” They were both immortal creatures, after all. If the boys decide to take a while to trust them, they can easily wait for that long without worrying about aging and growing older. They could wait as long as the boys need them to. “Trust is one of the few things that can never be rushed.” Lucian added a moment later with a nod of his head following, knowing that all too well especially since he has dedicated the better part of his life to helping others and some were stubborn more than the others.
A chuckle fell from his lips at Alexander’s words when he said that he had hoped he’d say that. “I’m glad I did not disappoint then.” He said with a half-smile resting on his lips. He nodded his head slowly, unsure why the town seemed to be crawling with supernatural creatures. It was like the town was a magnet, drawing more and more supernatural beings in.
Once they were ready to leave, his attention drifted to Alexander when he asked whether it would be okay if he held his hand. A chuckle left Lucian’s lips, finding the question to be adorable, to say the least. “Sweetheart, you pretty much put a ring on me last night and you kissed me earlier, I’m pretty sure it’s more than okay to merely hold my hand.” Lucian teased with a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips as he held out his hand for Alexander to take. “Sure. My place is only a two-minute walk to the Grill.” Lucian grabbed his keys as he began making his way out of his apartment with Alexander, closing the door behind him as he made his way downstairs. He entered his shop not long after. It was pretty much a necessity if they wanted to get out.
“Ah, I’m pretty sure you don’t remember entering my shop yesterday, so, here it is.” Lucian gestured to the antique shop with a half-smile resting on his lips. It was spacious, filled with many, many antiques. “I spent years collecting these little antiques.” He added a moment later, looking a little proud as he looked around before he seemed to remember what they needed to do. “Alright, we’ll have time later for a proper tour. C’mon, sweetheart, let’s fetch your car.” Lucian jostled the keys he had in his grip as he made his way out of his shop, switching off the lights behind him as he locked the door behind. He made sure to switch the sign to closed before doing so. He began heading in the general direction of the Grill with Alexander.

Alec knew that it would take time for everything that had happened to sink in but as Lucian kissed him back he couldn’t help but smile into the kiss. Lucian had been his best friend for as long as he could remember and even the time they had spent apart hadn’t changed that. Deep down Alec had always known that Lucian meant so much more to him than that but the timing had never seemed right for them until now. It was still surreal to think that Lucian was his husband but Alec already knew that he wouldn’t want it any other way. “You’re right about that,” he nodded as Lucian said that all they had now was time. “We have all the time in the world and I’m looking forward to spending that with you.” Lucian was the one person he had never been able to bring himself to get over and even though it had seemed like they were never going to end up together there was a part of him that had never given up hope. “That’s true. We won’t give up on them though, we’ll earn their trust.” He knew that the boys might not necessarily make it easy for them after everything that they had been through but Alec knew that they could both be patient and earn that trust. As Lucian said he was glad he didn’t disappoint, a gentle smile touched Alec’s lips. “I’m pretty sure you could never disappoint,” Alec assured him. They had known each other such a long time and Lucian hadn’t managed it yet so something told Alec that he wasn’t going to have to worry about that. He loved Lucian and he knew it would be fine anyway. As Lucian spoke again, Alec couldn’t help but laugh. “You’ve got a point there,” he chuckled. “Unfortunately I still don’t remember putting that ring on your finger but it does look like it belongs there,” he added with a grin, reaching for Lucian’s hand and lifting his husband’s hand to his lips so he could press a kiss to Lucian’s knuckle just above the ring to prove his point. “Those things were just for us, I wasn’t sure how you’d feel about doing anything in public,” he added gently. Holding Lucian’s hand was only a small thing but Alec knew that there were people who felt self conscious about even doing that in public and he hadn’t wanted to push Lucian into it if he wasn’t ready. “That’s perfect, a nice short commute to work,” he grinned as Lucian said the apartment was only two minutes away from the Grill. It was much closer than where Alec was living now. Heading downstairs with Lucian’s hand still in his, Alec found himself looking around them as they entered the shop. “This is incredible,” he admitted as his gaze swept over the items, unable to deny that he was impressed. “I’m looking forward to it,” he nodded as Lucian said there would be time for a proper tour later. As Lucian called him sweetheart, Alec’s expression softened. “I could get used to hearing you call me that,” he said gently before joining Lucian in heading outside. Lucian was right when he said that it would only take a couple of minutes to get to the Grill and Alec recognised where they were pretty much straight away. As they approached the parking lot of the Grill he caught Evangeline’s eye as she was heading in their direction and he saw her eyes widen in surprise at the sight of him holding hands with Lucian and he shot her a smile that said he would fill her in later. Reaching into his pocket with his free hand, Alec pulled out his car keys and unlocked the car. “This is mine,” he said as they reached it, opening Lucian’s door for him before climbing into the driver’s side. “You’re sure you don’t mind me moving in today?” he asked, hoping that the answer would be no but knowing that he had to give Lucian one last chance to change his mind in case he was having any doubts. ━ if you bled, I'll bleed the same. if you're scared, I'm on my way ━
Lucian's lips stretched into a smile as he nodded his head because he, too, was looking forward to spending it with Alexander. Alexander had a point when he said that they won't give up on the kids and will earn their trust. He had no doubt in his mind about that. They were immortal and had all the time in the world to work to earn their trust. That much he knew for certain. A gentle smile formed on his lips when Alexander told him that he could never disappoint. "Biased much, husband?" Lucian teased with a brief chuckle falling from his lips not long after.
Lucian glanced down at the ring on his finger. He had no recollection as to how it had ended up there, but it was still nice to look at. His smile stretched his lips when Alexander proved his point by pressing a kiss just above his ring. "Careful, you'll melt my heart if you keep doing that." Lucian said with a chuckle falling from his lips. "Worry not, public display of affection doesn't make me uncomfortable." Lucian assured him a moment later. "If anything, I find it quite sweet." The closeness of the shop to the Mystic Grill was one of the many reasons that helped him make up his mind about purchasing the shop. "Exactly."
"It is, indeed." Lucian said with a gentle smile resting on his lips as he looked around him. "My pride and joy." He released a content sigh before his attention drifted to Alexander not long after. "In this case, I'll keep you calling you that." Lucian said with a half-smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
Lucian made his way to Alexander's car and when they reached the vehicle, Alexander confirmed his suspicion about the car belonging to him, and soon, they were climbing inside of it. "Nice car." He said a moment later as he settled comfortably on his seat. "I'm sure, Alexander." Lucian added a moment later.

This might not be the way that Alec had ever thought that his life would end up but the truth was that he really didn’t mind. He hoped that his memories of the night before would come back to him sooner or later but even if they didn’t Lucian was still his husband and he was certain that they would be able to make plenty of memories together. They had a lot to figure out but they had plenty of time in which to do it considering that they were both immortal so he knew that he wouldn’t want it any other way. They had the kids to help as well but they weren’t going to give up on them, that much was for sure. As Lucian asked if he was biased, Alec couldn’t help but laugh. “I think I’m allowed to be, don’t you?” he grinned. “I love hearing that word from you, by the way,” he added. He might not be able to remember marrying Lucian just yet but he did love hearing Lucian call him his husband. “Then maybe I should keep doing it,” Alec teased as Lucian said that he would melt his heart if he kept doing that, pressing another kiss to his husband’s finger to prove his point. As Lucian said that he found public displays of affection sweet, Alec felt a smile touch his lips. “That’s good because I’ve wanted to be with you for a long time and now that we finally are together I want the whole world to know,” he grinned. He would shout it from the rooftops if he could but he had a feeling that wouldn’t go down too well. Instead he knew that he would settle for the smaller things like being able to hold Lucian’s hand. The fact that Lucian lived so close to the Grill really was a bonus as far as Alec was concerned since it meant that it would only take him a few minutes to walk to work. More than anything, though, Alec was proud of him for finally doing what he wanted to do. “I can tell, this place is perfect for you,” he admitted as he looked around the shop. “You’ve got quite a collection here, I’m impressed and I’m so proud of you,” he added, his expression turning gentle as he looked over at Lucian. “I can’t wait,” Alec grinned as Lucian said that he would keep calling him sweetheart. It didn’t take them long to reach the Grill and Alec quickly unlocked his car. “Thanks, cars have always been one of my guilty pleasures,” he admitted as he climbed into the driver’s side. As Lucian said he was sure it was okay for him to move in today, Alec nodded. “Alright then, let’s do this,” he nodded, starting the car and pulling it out of the parking lot before heading in the direction of his house. Once they were there he pulled his car up to the kerb and turned off the engine. “This is me,” he said, climbing out and waiting for Lucian to do the same before leading the way up the front path. “It really shouldn’t take too long, I haven’t done a lot of unpacking so most of it is still in boxes,” he explained as he unlocked the door and stood aside so Lucian could enter first. ━ if you bled, I'll bleed the same. if you're scared, I'm on my way ━
Lucian’s lips stretched into a grin that matched Alexander’s. “I think you are.” He added a moment later with a soft chuckle falling from his lips not long after. “Husband? I quite like the ring of it, too.” It wasn’t something he’d expected to call Alexander. It was quite the development. When Alexander pressed yet another kiss to his finger, he felt his expression soften some more, unable to deny the way it made his heart stutter in the nicest way possible. He moved his hand to cup Alexander’s cheek, gently rubbing the skin with the pad of his thumb, his expression soft before he moved his hand away as he processed Alexander’s words. “I feel the exact same way.” Lucian admitted, his voice still soft as he spoke. “I’d shout it from the rooftops if I could.”
Lucian felt a gentle smile tug at the corner of his lips when Alexander told him that the place was perfect for him. He glanced around him, quite proud of his collection and the way he had remodeled the store, bring it back to life. He just coulddn’t stand the dull colors from before. “Thank you, dear husband. I appreciate you saying that.” Lucian said with the usual gentleness still in the tone of his voice. “You’ve already approved of two nicknames so far, that’s quite adorable.” Lucian said with a chuckle falling from his lips not long after. He liked sweetheart and husband. He’ll keep calling him both of those names since he liked them.
“I can tell.” Lucian added with a quick nod of his head following as he settled comfortably until it was time for him to get out of the car. He closed the door behind him and adjusted his shirt to make sure it wasn’t wrinkled. He glanced up at Alexander’s house. “Alright, let’s do this, then.” Lucian said with a nod of his head following as he began making his way to the door, murmuring a soft ‘thank you’ when Alexander held the door open for him. He stepped inside and looked around him, taking in the inside of the house before he located the first box. He made his way over to pick it up, picking two more boxes to place on top of the first box, his supernatural strength made it possible for him to balance them perfectly without being deterred by their weight. He made his way out of the house and to Alexander’s car to start putting the boxes there before he made his way back inside to continue helping Alexander with packing up.

“That’s good because I’ve never been able to be impartial when it comes to you,” Alec chuckled. He knew that it was true, even when they were younger he’d always had a soft spot for Lucian and that had shifted into something else as they’d gotten older. The guy had always been his best friend but somewhere along the way he had turned into something so much more than that and it felt good to be able to admit that now. “I still can’t believe I get to call you my husband,” he admitted, not caring how cheesy it might sound. “I never really thought about getting married that much but whenever I did it was always you I thought of,” he added gently. Even before he had said those words out loud to Lucian there was a part of him that had known how he felt for a long time. “As fun as that would be to watch, I don’t think it would make a very good impression on our new neighbours,” he grinned. They were both pretty new to town and they were still finding their feet so he didn’t want to go ruffling any feathers just yet. “It’s true. From what my friend has told me about Mystic Falls, it sounds like your store is the perfect fit for it,” he said, a smile touching his lips as he looked over at Lucian. The town was a beacon for the supernatural so there were always going to be those who wanted what Lucian had to sell and Alec could see how happy the shop made him so Alec in turn was happy for him. “Other than Alec I don’t normally like nicknames but it’s different now.” Just hearing Lucian call him those names was enough to make his heart leap and that was something that Alec had never thought that he would end up finding. He’d been in relationships before but this already felt different and he felt like he’d found where he was meant to be so he knew he wanted to hold on to it. Unable to stop his smile from widening as Lucian said he could tell that cars were one of his guilty pleasures, Alec soon turned his attention to the road and drove them to the house he had been living in. He hadn’t been in town for very long and he had hardly even started unpacking so he wasn’t attached to the house in the way that Lucian was. Alec knew that he would probably end up holding onto it for a while just in case they did decide to start a family while they were in town and needed a bigger place but he knew that they had plenty of time to figure that out. Climbing out of the car, he nodded as Lucian said that they should do this before opening the door to the house for him. As he piled a couple of boxes on top of each other, Alec couldn’t help but laugh. “Don’t forget to act human, those boxes are meant to be heavy,” he chuckled as he picked up the next few boxes and carried them out to the car. It wasn’t long before all of the boxes were in the car and Alec locked the door to the house before climbing into the car. “Given our track record with alcohol we probably shouldn’t get any champagne to celebrate, should we?” he grinned, not sure whether Lucian would want to or not. ━ if you bled, I'll bleed the same. if you're scared, I'm on my way ━
Lucian felt a small smile tug at the corner of his lips. He could tell that Alec was speaking nothing but the truth when he said that. Lucian felt the exact same way, too. Try as he might to move on from the younger, he always held a special place in Lucian’s heart and no matter how hard he tried to stop thinking about him, the younger had settled quite comfortably in his heart and mind, refusing to budge, so he knew that moving on from him was of no use. “It’s quite the change. We skipped quite a few stages, as well. If I had any family left, they would surely never let me hear the end of this. It’s quite a… non-traditional way to get married.” Lucian knew his parents and family had always wanted him to do things the traditional way. They wanted him to follow in their footsteps but look at him now. He went out yesterday single and woke up the next day married. “Actually, I may not have any family left, but I do have a few friends here in town. It’s only a matter of time before they see this lovely little ring on my finger.” Lucian said with a chuckle falling from his lips not long after. He knew that his friends won’t let him hear the end of it. They’ll tease him mercilessly while also complaining that they had missed such an important event. “I’m quite glad to hear that, my dear husband. I’m honored you always thought of me.” Lucian said with a soft smile tugging at his lips.
“Ah, you know, I’d typically share the same fear as you, but I’m the only one living here. I don’t have any neighbors, so technically I can do as I please, but I’ll save us from the embarrassment.” Lucian pointed out with a chuckle falling from his lips not long after. It was one of the many things that made him quickly purchase the shop and the apartment above. The other shops didn’t have the same apartment attached to the store. They were simple stores so he was quite glad to have this chance to be a little — extra.
“I have yet to receive any customers but that’s mainly because I haven’t done any advertisement yet. Let’s hope they’ll start flocking in when word gets out. It’d be sad to see all these pretty antiques age on the shelves.” Lucian’s eyes soon scanned his surroundings, a pleased little smile hanging onto his lips before his attention drifted back to Alec. “In that case, I’ll keep the nicknames comin’, dear.” Lucian said with the same smile still on his lips.
He continued to help Alec move out of the house before he paused and turned to look at him. “Worry not, I’ll pretend I pulled my back after putting the boxes down.” Lucian said with a chuckle falling from his lips. If anyone dared to say anything, he’d charm his way out of it. Plus, he had seen plenty of strong humans before, so he knew that what he was doing wasn’t exactly out of the ordinary. His eyes seemed to sparkle at the idea of drinking champagne. “I’ll gladly enjoy some champagne.” Lucian wasn’t one to turn down some alcohol. Lucian settled comfortably in the car, quite content now that they were done moving boxes around.

Alec really had tried to move on with his life after he and Lucian had gone their separate ways. He had been in relationships after that and there were a couple that he had thought had a chance of working out but the truth was that he had never felt about them even a fraction of the way he felt about Lucian. He had fallen for the guy back when they were kids before Alec had even realised that he liked guys. So many times he had thought about saying something but by the time he had figured it out the timing had never seemed right for them. They had gone to different colleges and then Alec had left after his parents had died. Even when they reunited in the war it wasn’t the right time as Lucian had just lost someone he loved so the truth was that Alec had thought that perhaps he was destined to love the one person he could never be with but now things had finally gone their way and he couldn’t be happier about that. “I think it’s safe to say that’s an understatement,” Alec grinned as Lucian said that theirs was a non-traditional way of getting married. “It wasn’t what either of us had in mind but I’m glad it happened. It gave us the kick we needed to finally talk about what we wanted,” he continued. Something had always been stopping both of them before but now they didn’t have to worry about that and he really was glad. “We might have done things the wrong way round but we can do this our way from now on,” he added with a grin. They had always done things their own way and he was pretty sure that wasn’t going to change. “I’m not sure how I’m going to tell my dad or Evangeline that we’re suddenly married but hopefully they and your friends will be happy with us. Do you think they’ll approve?” he asked his fingers tracing the wedding band that was resting on Lucian’s finger. He hadn’t met Lucian’s friends but he wanted them to like him. “I did, it has always been you,” Alec admitted, knowing that his words were completely true. As Lucian said that he was the only one living here and he didn’t have any neighbours, Alec couldn’t stop a smile from touching his lips. “That’s very good to know,” he said, his smile turning playful as he leaned forward and pressed a kiss to his husband’s lips. Alec had always been a private person so if he was honest he was glad that they weren’t going to have to worry about being around others too much. The shop really was amazing as well and he couldn’t deny that he was so proud of Lucian for putting it all together. “I’m sure they will. People normally can’t get enough of things like these in places like this,” he admitted. He’d travelled a lot since he and Lucian had parted ways and he’d ended up in shops like Lucian’s when he’d needed certain items as well and they had always been busy. “Besides, I know you’ll turn on the charm the way you always do and they’ll be powerless to resist,” he added, a smile touching his lips as he looked over at his husband. “They’ll be eating out of the palm of your hand before you know it.” There really wasn’t a doubt in his mind about that, Lucian had always had a way with people that Alec had always admired and he knew that hadn’t changed. “I hope you do,” he said as he gave Lucian’s hand a gentle squeeze when he said he would keep the nicknames coming. Alec really hadn’t unpacked too much yet, most of his time had been spent sorting out appliances and decorating while he was at the house but he had also been getting to know his surroundings better. It was strange to be packing everything up again so quickly but this time it was for a very good reason and Alec couldn’t deny that it felt right. “That’s probably a good idea,” he grinned as Lucian said he would pretend he’d pulled his back. Loading everything into the car, there were a few things left but Alec knew that he could come back and get them whenever he was ready so he really wasn’t too worried. “I thought you might say that,” he chuckled as he climbed into the car once they had loaded everything in. “Shall we stop by the Grill and pick one up on the way?” he asked, glancing over at Lucian before starting the engine. “I should warn you Evangeline is working today so we might get asked a lot of questions if she sees us.”LUCIAN ACKERMAN

━ if you bled, I'll bleed the same. if you're scared, I'm on my way ━
“Mmm.” Lucian hummed in agreement when the younger said that it was safe to say that it was an understatement. He agreed with Alexander’s words. He didn’t get married in the way he had expected to, but he wouldn’t do anything to change that. They were definitely also going to have complete control over things from here on out. “I mean, there’s only one way to figure that out, sweetheart. We’ll just have to tell them. Though, worry not about my friends. They won’t mind. If anything, they’d be happy to know that I’m married and just tad bit disappointed that they had missed out on the occasion. They’re quite lovely people, I’ll make sure to introduce you to them.” Lucian assured him, his voice was soft as he spoke. Lucian’s expression softened at Alexander’s words, finding them to be adorable and quite romantic, too. Lucian was more than happy to return the kiss, his hand resting momentarily on Alexander’s cheek, letting his thumb trace over his cheek gently before he withdrew his hand. He glanced around him with a hint of a smile on his lips. “That’s very good to know, then.” Lucian just hoped that he’d wind up meeting someone with an eye for expensive antiques. He’d be happy to know that he was sending his antiques off somewhere safe. Lucian chuckled at Alexander’s words when he said that he’ll turn on his charm and the others will be powerless to resist. “Aren’t you a charming man, husband.” He said after his laughter had subsided, a hint of tenderness still visible in his expression. He’ll be more than happy to keep Alexander’s nicknames coming.
Not long after, they were heading off to help Alexander move his belongings, and soon enough, they were both done with their task. It surely felt good to be done with that task. Though it wasn’t daunting on his body in the slightest. When Alexander offered to get a drink, Lucian’s eyes sparkled with interest as he turned his attention to his husband. He was quick to accept the offer and when he heard Alexander’s words, his lips stretched into a smile before he waved his hand off. “I’m never one to turn down drinks.” Lucian said with a chuckle falling from his lips. “Oh, she can fire them all away. I’ll answer as much as I can.” Although he couldn’t exactly remember what had happened that night, he’ll be happy to do whatever he could to make sure that Alexander’s friend liked him.
He was very happy to know that Alexander had someone in his life who cared about his happiness and safety. He was going to try his best to leave a good impression so she’d know for sure that he was in good hands with Lucian. Once the car came to a stop, Lucian made his way out of the car, glancing over at Alexander to wait for him and once his husband was by his side, he began making his way to the Grill with him. He held the door open for the other before he followed him not long after. “I’m suddenly hit by a sense of deja vu.” Lucian commented with a chuckle because only a day ago, he was here in the Grill. That was when he met Alexander for the first time in a long time. “What should we drink?” Lucian questioned. “I fear what we might do if we were to get drunk again today.” Lucian joked with a chuckle falling from his lips. They’d already gotten married, so what else could they do?

Alec knew that he and Lucian hadn’t ended up getting married in the way that anyone would have expected them to but the truth was that he didn’t regret it one bit. He still hoped that in time their memories would return to them so they would at least remember the night but they had their whole lives ahead of them now and he knew that they could renew their vows or get married again as many times as they wanted to. If he was honest Alec was glad that things had happened the way they had done because they’d both gained the courage to do something about the way they felt for each other and that was something that he was never going to regret. “I know we will. I can’t wait to meet them,” Alec admitted. “It’s the same for my friends, they’re going to be disappointed they missed it but they’ll be happy for us and I know they’re going to love you,” he added with a grin. “They already know who you are anyway, I might have mentioned you a couple of times,” he added. Truth be told he had talked about Lucian quite a lot but he wasn’t ready to admit that quite yet. To Alec he had always been the one who got away and he was so glad that had finally changed. Leaning into Lucian’s touch, Alec’s expression softened as Lucian spoke again. “The shop will be a hit, just you wait and see,” he said, his voice sincere as he spoke. As Lucian said that he was charming, Alec couldn’t help but laugh. “I have to be to keep up with you,” he grinned. Lucian had always been charming at least to Alec and Alec knew that he didn’t want to end up disappointing his husband now. It felt strange to know that that morning he’d woken up with no recollection of the night before only to find out that he and Lucian had ended up getting married and now they were moving in together. It was all happening so fast in some respects but, then again, they had known each other for pretty much their whole lives so it wasn’t really that fast at all. Neither of them had admitted how they had felt about the other until today but now things finally felt right between them and Alec truly was glad about that. Even on his worst days he had always found himself thinking about Lucian despite the distance that had been between them but now they were together he knew that they weren’t going to have to worry about that again. “I had a feeling you might say that,” Alec chuckled. “Sounds like we’ll have to pick up a bottle or two on our way home then.” He still couldn’t believe that all of this was happening but he knew that he wanted to cherish every moment. “I imagine she will so I’ll apologise in advance,” he grinned. Alec knew what Evangeline was like, they had been friends for a long time and he wouldn’t be surprised if she had put the pieces together and realised that it was Lucian that he loved so he knew that there were sure to be questions fired their way. Bringing the car to a stop in the parking lot of the Grill, Alec climbed out of the car and made his way to Lucian’s side, taking his hand before they headed into the Grill together. Thanking Lucian for holding the door open for him, Alec couldn’t help but laugh at his husband’s words. “You and me both. I never thought that this would be where I would run into you again,” he admitted. Alec had been surprised when he’d looked across the bar and seen Lucian standing there but it had sparked a chain of events that he wouldn’t take back for anything in the world so Alec was so glad that it had happened. As Lucian asked what they should drink, Alec’s expression turned thoughtful for a moment. “I know there’s a bottle back at home but how about we get some fresh champagne and perhaps some beers as well?” he suggested, knowing that they might as well considering that they were celebrating. As Lucian spoke again, Alec couldn’t help but laugh. “Yesterday we got married so who knows, perhaps if we get drunk today we might wake up tomorrow to find that we adopted a kid,” he chuckled. They had already had the discussion about kids and Alec couldn’t wait to start that chapter of their life together but he knew that they should probably try and take it one step at a time. ━ if you bled, I'll bleed the same. if you're scared, I'm on my way ━
Lucian had a small smile on his lips as he listened to Alexander. He nodded his head slowly in an understanding manner. His friends will definitely feel the same way. There will be a hint of disappointment in their eyes and tone, but he knew that in the end, they will be happy for them. He had no doubt that Alexander was going to get along well with his friends, too. His expression softened when he came to the realization that Alexander had brought him up a couple of times. That alone was enough to place a smile on his lips. Seems like an introduction won’t be needed, after all. He had brought Alexander up before while talking to his friends but there was always a hint of sadness on his face whenever he talked about him so his friends never pressured him into disclosing more information about Alexander. “That’s very sweet of you, Alexander.” Lucian spoke up with a hint of softness in his voice, his eyes moving to relax on Alexander once again. When Alexander assured him that the shop was going to be a hit, he didn’t doubt his words. Instead, his smile only seemed to carry more warmth, relieved to hear the younger say that. A chuckle fell from his lips when Alexander continued to sweet-talk him. “At this point, you will surpass me.” Lucian warned with a hint of a teasing in the tone of his voice.
“Oh, my dear Alexander, if I didn’t know any better, I would’ve thought you were trying to charm me into putting a ring on you, but I’ve already done that the night before.” That was his response when the younger mentioned picking up a bottle or two on their way home. “Oh, dear, no need to apologize. I’m quite prepared.” Lucian said with a chuckle falling from his lips not long after. He didn’t carry any deep, dark secrets, and he was definitely more than happy to answer the questions that Evangeline may have. He knew that, in the end, all of it came from a good place, so of course he wanted to be cooperative.
“You and me both.” Lucian had no idea he’d wind up bumping into Alexander here. It was definitely a huge surprise. But it was also a good kind of surprise. He was just happy to have finally met Alexander again. “Ah, I see we’re still in a celebrative mood. Very well then, I’m happy with that.” Lucian said with a quick nod of his head following, his eyes relaxing on Alexander once again when his next words followed which made him laugh. “I wouldn’t put that past us.” Lucian said, laughing once again. It would certainly be a unique way to adopt a kid.

Alec knew that his friends would be shocked to learn that he had ended up getting married but he honestly believed that they would be happy for him. He had tried his best to hide how he felt about Lucian from those around him because he simply hadn’t thought that admitting it would do him any good. He hadn’t even known if he would ever get to see Lucian again but he had always hoped that he would. Alec wasn’t sure what the future was going to hold for the two of them but they were moving in together and they both wanted kids so the truth was that for the first time in as long as he could remember Alec felt excited about the future. In the past it felt like he was just drifting through life but now he had something to look forward to and he hadn’t realised just how much he had missed that. “I couldn’t help it,” Alec chuckled, his cheeks flushing red slightly. He’d meant it when he’d told Lucian that whenever he pictured his future it was Lucian that he saw there with him, Alec had wanted to be with him for as long as he could remember and his friends meant a lot to him so he hadn’t been able to stop himself from telling them about Lucian. As Lucian spoke again, Alec couldn’t help but laugh. “In that case I’ll have to keep trying. You’ve been charming me since we were kids, I’ve got a long way to go if I want to do that,” he chuckled. “I must admit I thought it was going to be much more difficult to get you to do that,” Alec grinned. Until last night neither of them had told the other how they felt but now things had changed between them completely and Alec couldn’t deny that he was glad about that. “If I’d known all it would take was a few too many drinks then I would have tried that years ago,” he added, his grin turning to an amused smile as he looked over at his husband. His memories of the night before were still fuzzy but the truth was that he was happy and he wasn’t going to let anything change that. “Alright, you can’t say I didn’t warn you,” Alec teased. Truth be told he knew that it wouldn’t be too bad but he knew that they were sure to have questions coming their way and he wanted to make sure that Lucian was ready for that. It seemed surreal now that less than twenty four hours ago he and Lucian had bumped into each other again for the first time in years but Alec knew now that he wouldn’t have it any other way. He was glad that their paths had crossed again even if it had come as a huge surprise and he knew that Lucian was as well. As Lucian said about him still being in a celebratory mood, Alec couldn’t stop a smile from forming on his face. “Can you blame me? It’s not every day you wake up to find you’ve married the love of your life or end up moving in together. I’d say that’s as good a reason to celebrate as any.” Alec knew that he could have done this before and perhaps in time he would have found a way to be happy with someone else but his heart wouldn’t have really been in it, not like it was now. Lucian had held his heart for almost Alec’s whole life and he knew that he wanted to make the most of this now that they finally had the chance to be together. “Neither would I,” Alec chuckled. “We should probably be on our best behaviour and at least live together for a while first though,” he added with a grin, giving Lucian’s hand a gentle squeeze as he led the way in the direction of the bar. “Hey Matt, is Evangeline around?” he asked a his gaze came to rest on the young man before nodding as Matt said she was in the office but would be back in a minute. They hadn’t even reached the bar when she emerged and her eyes immediately dropped to their joined hands as a smile formed on her face. “I knew my eyes weren’t playing tricks on me earlier! You kept this quiet,” she beamed as she reached them. “Hi, I’m Evangeline,” she said as she offered Lucian a smile. “It all happened quite quickly. This is Lucian,” Alec said, not at all surprised when Evangeline’s eyes widened in surprise. “The Lucian?” she asked, surprise written all over her face. “Sorry, Alec has told me a lot about you. It’s so nice to finally meet you,” she added as she quickly hugged Lucian before taking a half step back not having seen the rings quite yet. “I’m so happy you found each other again.”LUCIAN ACKERMAN

━ if you bled, I'll bleed the same. if you're scared, I'm on my way ━
Lucian’s lips stretched into a soft smile as he listened to Alexander. He couldn’t help but find the redness of Alexander’s cheeks incredibly endearing, his features softening as he watched the younger with visible tenderness in his gaze, too. Lucian let out a chuckle when Alexander told him that he had been charming him ever since they were kids. “Very well then, you won’t hear any complaints from me. Please, charm away.” Lucian said with a smile resting on his lips once his laughter had subsided.
“Oh, really? Honestly, you could have asked to marry me with paper rings and I would have said yes, darling.” Lucian admitted with a soft chuckle falling from his lips not long after. “You were my first love, after all. They do say that your first love is the hardest to forget and I must say, they were one hundred percent correct.” Lucian had fallen rapidly for Alexander but back then, things were rocky. Now, though, it was a completely different story and Lucian was happy to finally have Alexander in his life like this. A chuckle fell from his lips as he imagined Alexander putting a ring on his finger while he was behind bars. It definitely would have been a lot more difficult to explain back then. “Oh, boy.” Lucian teasingly said with a fond roll of his eyes following.
It was long before they were inside the Mystic Grill. He could definitely tell that they were still in a celebratory mood and he didn’t mind it in the slightest. His attention drifted to Alexander, his heart skipping a beat at his words. Oh, Alexander could definitely be quite charming when he wanted to. “You know what, you’re right. It’s not everyday that I get married to the love of my life, so I will definitely enjoy that champagne quite a lot.” Lucian said with a soft smile tugging at the corner of his lips. When Alexander mentioned living together for a while first before adopting any kids. “You make a very good point. Alright then, we will be on our best behavior for a while before adopting any younglings.” Lucian said with a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. His eyes drifted down to their hands, his smile only growing fonder at the way Alexander squeezed his hand. He offered Matt a smile as a greeting, nodding his head at his direction. When Matt revealed that she was in the office, Lucian nodded his head slightly and turned his attention to Alexander, watching him for a moment before they began heading to the bar, though they had barely even reached the bar when a woman emerged. Lucian watched the interaction with a hint of curiosity in his gaze before it clicked that she was Evangeline. She confirmed his suspicion not long after, his smile stretching his lips. “Pleasure to finally meet you, Evangeline. Alexander mentioned that you two are very close but he failed to mention that you are quite beautiful, too.” Lucian said with a gentle smile on his lips.
The Lucian, huh? There was a particular fondness in the way Evangeline addressed him. Alexander must have talked about him a lot. It was that very same realization that placed a smile on his lips almost right away. His eyes widened slightly in surprise when she hugged him but he quickly returned the hug, gently placing his hands on her back. He leaned back from the hug not long after, his surprise no longer visible on his expression, instead there was just softness in his gaze. “Likewise, Evangeline. Alexander has told me quite a lot about you, as well. I was very eager to meet you just from how he talked about you, if I’m being honest.” Lucian admitted with a hint of softness in the tone of his voice. “I really am, too. We’re quite lucky.” Lucian said with a soft smile tugging at the corner of his lips.

For such a long time Alec had felt sure that he would never get the chance to say any of these things to Lucian. The timing had always seemed so wrong for them in the past and it had been such a long time since they had last seen each other that he really hadn’t known if their paths would cross again one day but he had always hoped that they would. Alec had done his best to move on from Lucian, he had tried to tell himself that nothing had actually happened between the two of them and Lucian just didn’t feel the same way about him, but it had never worked. No matter what his thoughts always turned to Lucian whenever he thought about the kind of future that he wanted to have and Alec knew now that wasn’t going to change. “I thought you might say that,” Alec grinned before leaning forward and kissing his husband gently. He knew that he really did have a long way to go if he was going to catch up with Lucian on the charm front but he was more than happy to give it a try. “If I’d known that I would have asked you a long time ago,” Alec admitted. “Money isn’t a problem but I never realised you felt the same way about me,” he added. There was a part of him that had always hoped that it wasn’t a one sided thing but he had never really let himself believe it because he had known that it would only end up breaking his heart if he found out that Lucian didn’t feel the same. “You were mine as well,” he nodded as Lucian said that he was his first love. “They are definitely right about that, I haven’t been able to get you out of my head since we were kids.” It wasn’t for lack of trying, he had done his best to forget about Lucian but he just hadn’t been able to do it so needless to say it felt right to be with him like this now. It might not be what either of them had planned or what they had expected but they were together now and that was all that mattered. As Lucian spoke again, Alec felt a smile touch his lips. “What is it?”Alec was definitely still in the mood to celebrate and he could see that Lucian was as well so the decision to get some more champagne that they could share was an easy one to make. The words that Lucian was the love of his life had slipped out of Alec’s mouth with such ease but he couldn’t ignore the way that his breath caught in his throat when Lucian returned those words. “I can’t believe we waited so long to tell each other and now neither of us remembers what happened last night,” he admitted. His memories were still hazy and Lucian hadn’t said that he remembered what had happened the night before so Alec wouldn’t be surprised if his memories hadn’t come back just yet either. “Knowing us it probably won’t last too long but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it,” he chuckled when Lucian said that they would be on their best behaviour for a while before adopting. Alec could see the surprise in Matt’s eyes when he saw their joined hands but there was no judgement in his gaze and that was enough to make Alec relax a little. It had been a long time since he had last been in a relationship so he wasn’t used to public displays of affection but he knew that he would get used to it. Alec couldn’t stop his smile from returning when Evangeline joined them and he gave Lucian’s hand a gentle squeeze as he spoke to her. “I could say the same for you, Alec’s description didn’t do you justice,” Evangeline said, a smile forming on her lips as she looked over at the two of them. “The two of you make a really handsome couple.”The moment Evangeline called him the Lucian, Alec felt his cheeks flush red. He hadn’t realised just how much he had talked about Lucian but now that he thought about it he realised that he probably had mentioned him quite a bit. Evangeline had known for a while that he was still hung up on him and that alone was enough to make Alec feel somewhat embarrassed now. He wasn’t surprised when Evangeline hugged Lucian and Alec felt a smile touch his lips as he let go of Lucian’s hand so he could hug her back. “Well, you really are as charming as Alec said. It’s no wonder you swept him off his feet,” she said, nothing but approval in her expression as she looked over at the two of them. As Lucian spoke again, Evangeline felt a smile touch her lips to match the one on Alec’s face. “You both are, I hope you cherish your time together,” she said, knowing how awful it could be to be immortal and be without the person you loved. “We will, don’t worry,” Alec nodded. “Now as much as I want to get to know you, my dear, I imagine you didn’t come here on your first day together to see me. What can I get you?” she asked and Alec wasn’t surprised at all that she’d seen through their appearance. “We were after a bottle of champagne, we’re still celebrating,” he said and that alone was enough to have Evangeline nodding. “That I can definitely do,” she nodded, moving behind the counter to grab a bottle before returning to them and holding it out to them. It was as Alec offered his thanks and reached for the bottle that Evangeline’s eyes widened as she caught sight of the ring on his finger and she quickly looked at Lucian’s hand for confirmation, her free hand moving to her mouth as she spotted the matching ring. “Did the two of you get married?” she asked, her voice incredulous as she spoke although she didn’t wait for an answer before moving back behind the bar again. “This bottle simply won’t do, this calls for the special stuff,” she said, swapping the bottle over and returning with one that was much more expensive. “I was saving this for a special occasion and I can’t think of anything more special. Before you say anything, it’s on the house,” she said, knowing that Alec would protest if given half a chance. LUCIAN ACKERMAN
