Alec's life as a phoenix started before he was even old enough to understand what was going on around him. He was just a baby when he was reborn from the ashes of the fire that killed his mother and his grandfather gave him away to another family to raise. A few years later the three of them moved to America for a fresh start and it was there that Alec really started to thrive. He made it through school and college before deciding to go travelling after his parents died. He fought in a few different wars and it was during the American Civil War that he learned that he was a phoenix. Alec knows he wants to make something of his life so he has trained to become a hunter with the goal of protecting both humans and supernaturals and he works at the Grill to make money. Alec learned that he was adopted after his parents died and ever since then he figured out he is a phoenix he has been trying to track down his biological father, certain that the man has to be a phoenix like him. Alec has just moved to Mystic Falls for a fresh start to help two kids who need someone to lean on and also to follow a lead he hopes might help him find the man whose blood he shares.

Friends;; When he was younger he was always a friendly person but after his parents died Alec started to find it more difficult to connect with people. When he does befriend someone he is loyal to a fault and will be there for them no matter what they need. Alec has been alive for over two hundred and fifty years so he could have some old friends come back into his life and he could make some new ones now he has decided to build a life for himself in Mystic Falls as well.

Enemies;; Alec has always been protective of those close to him and that now extends to strangers as well. Anyone who willingly hurts others will fall into the enemy category and since Alec has fought in wars and is also a hunter then this category could potentially be quite large.

Lovers;; It took Alec a while to come to terms with the fact that he is bisexual considering that he grew up in a very different time but he has had centuries in which to process that and now he is completely comfortable in his own skin. Alec has indulged in relationships with both men and women and he doesn't tend to prefer one over the other, to him it is the person who counts. He could have some exes come back into his life and he wouldn't say no to a fling or two either.
