In the aftermath With Joe Green Meredith wasn't even phased by the idea of blackmailing him. It seemed like a simple enough solution. "Trust me, you're getting off easy," she told him firmly. She was still in business mode, trying her best to negotiate with someone who needed help. Someone who needed it but didn't want it. Those were the hardest to get to listen. She had experience but her success rate was mixed. She could only hope that she could pull this one off. She could leave here not feeling like she had let herself down. She would still leave here worrying about him but that was her cross to bear. "Why do I want to go to your house? Trust me, it's not for tea. You're exhausted. You are in no condition to drive. This is the easy alternative. I have no motive here but to ensure that you get home in one piece. If that is suspicious to you I think it speaks to your level of tiredness, Joe. You know me --- we might not be besties but you know my reputation here. I don't do this for everyone but please let me do it for you."
He was such a stubborn ass. She almost wanted to call him that but it went against her attempts to better her bedside manner. She had, on occasion, cut a little deep when she told it like it was. She was trying to better herself. Or at least not outright insult anyone anymore. "You need proper sleep. In a bed. Not jammed in a car with your limps cramped against the sides. It will do you no good. Of course I am sure you will try to tell me otherwise because you think you know best. Need I remind you one of us is a certified doctor. You've got a good head on your shoulders when it comes to the people you bring in here but when it comes to yourself, you need to learn to listen to others."

Joe didn't know what else to do to stall her and prevent her knowing the truth about his issue and problems that he had nowhere to live. Joe has been lying because he was sleeping in a house that he rented. He did no such thing. He was used to sleeping in the car, he couldn't keep sleeping on his friend's sofa anymore. His sleepwalking was getting too dangerous and he didn't want to hurt them
Fine, you want to know the truth? I don't have anywhere to go. You're happy now. I have been sleeping in my car for months and I have been coping very well. I shouldn't have passed out in front of you he was getting a bit angry due to lack of sleep and nothing else I can't be any good if I keep on losing them. Or rephrase that you're the one letting them die he didn't mean this he was just unleashing his anger all on her, as he was very tired
So what are you going to suggest now? I am not going back in that hospital and your not making me either it was a true threat, but Joe was very irritable due to being tired and he needed to rest to get rid of his cranky side

In the aftermath With Joe Green Finally, the truth came tumbling out and it was not something that he had expected. She stood there, looking a bit dumbfounded at his admission. She had not expected him to say anything like that. She knew that he was struggling but she thought it was all related to whatever was going on with his sleep patterns. Instead his admission that he no longer had a true roof over his head made her frown.
"Why didn't you say anything, Joe?" she asked, her voice demanding yet still cut with the kindness that she knew he would need in that moment. Lecturing him would not help the situation. "You know how we are here at the hospital. We protect our own. We do what we can to ensure that everyone is healthy and happy. If I had known..." She probably would have barreled in with her usual grace and he would have ran the other way. That was definitely not what she wanted to happen. She wanted him know he was not alone. "Let me help you." She knew he would want her pity and that his pride was going to be tough to get around but she was willing to try. "You don't have to keep living like this. If anything if you worry about your sleepwalking, sleeping in a car is not going to help. You could accidentally sleep drive and then..." He could fill in the rest.
She took a deep breath, her annoyance more at bay now that she knew the truth. It still tickled at her of course. How could it not when he was so damn determined to try to do all of this on his own. "I am not going to make you go back to the hospital. In case you have noticed, you are too damn stubborn anyway. What I would like to do is find you somewhere more substantial to lay your head for the night."

In the city of fools, I was careful and cool but they tore me apart like a hurricane.
Joe didn't know how Meredith would take the news. It was all strange admitting when the whole world was against you and you had nothing left. He didn't know or wanted any help. It made him feel so weak and it is not normal for a guy to receive help from another woman. Because I am a man, I am supposed to be big and protective. I am not as I am weak, this a big example of this being true he looked her even though he was so sleep devied he wasn't able to concentrate much
I didn't want anyone to know. Someone I met said they were going to help me, but they disappeared. I didn't want to cause another one to go missing. Believe me it's for the best that you didn't know, I shouldn't have slipped up he signed as he thought of that person, she kept his nightmares at bay and he was able to sleep in peace. But something was happening in the town, the other side of him was awaken again I wasn't always sleeping in the car you know, I only been sleeping in here three weeks ago as my neighbour reported me to the landlord, coming home in early hours completely nude and covered in dirt Joe didn't give the driving the car a worry as he just focus on walking into the woods, nothing more than that
I am not stubborn Meredith. I am trying to protect you and everyone in the building. I don't know what I am like when I go into this state he looked at her again I don't know even strapping me down will stop me Joe was yawning as he losing this body nowhere is safe Meredith. I just need to be away from people. Maybe that would be better for me. I am scared that I will come around and find a dead person next too. I just want one night of peace, isn't that hard to ask? Joe didn't care right now, he can feel himself falling and he was just going to crash wherever he was as he couldn't fight it much longer
