I know what it's like to think of yourself as a monster
MG felt a weak smile tug at the corner of his lips at Ethan's words before gently shaking his head to assure him that it was alright. Maybe they were just waiting for the perfect time and despite the fact that right now wasn't a good time, especially with the fact that he was dying, but it would have to do because just in case he doesn't make it, then he can go with the knowledge that he had chosen to be different this time around and not just bottle up his feelings and take them with him to the grave. "Gonna fight the all mighty death just to bring me back?" He asked with a hint of a grin tugging at the corner of his lips.
"If this is my end, then I've made my peace with it, E. I fought for everyone here, and for myself, too. I..." MG trailed off with a cough, his body starting to get unbearably warm, like he was sitting directly in front of an oven and just feeling the unforgiving heat surround him from every direction. "I thought at first that I was doomed. My parents, they wanted nothing to do with me. I thought I was going to have to make my peace with being unwanted but I couldn't have been more wrong. I've had a good run, E. I just wish that I had met you a lot sooner." MG's voice was quiet as he spoke, it had a croak to it, like it took him a lot of strength to even talk right now.
MG felt happy to hear Ethan say that. "The memories I have with you... They're the happiest ones I've had in the longest time." As much as he wants to have some hope that he will be saved just in time, he was starting to have his doubts but he knew that he'd never, ever blame them for getting to him late. Not with the chaos happening downstairs, not with them constantly running around to save everyone else who was hurt during the fight with the ruthless angel. Hearing Ethan say that was enough to make him take in a deep breath before letting out in a sigh of relief. He finally got to hear it and if this is his end, then he's so goddamn relieved that he had the chance to hear Ethan say that to him. I'll always love you, no matter what.
Hope paused at Josie's words, her eyes widening slightly. "Of course. Go. I've got it here. If you need anything, tell me." Hope said to her, offering her a gentle nod of her head and an even gentler smile, knowing that her girlfriend was more than capable of saving their close friend. MG's attention soon drifted over to the door when he saw it open. "Hey, super girl." MG croaked as he attempted to get up a little but try as he might, his body just felt too weak. Like it wasn't his body anymore. "S'okay, Jo can help too." MG assured Ethan when he saw the worried look on his face. When he heard her question, he lifted his shirt to reveal all the bites that he had on his body, all of them looked ugly and infected. MG leaned his head back, wincing in pain at the feeling of Josie siphoning the venom out of his body. "God." MG leaned his head back, biting down on his bottom lip to stop the pained noises from tumbling out of his lips but there was no stopping them once they started. He was barely hanging onto the remaining bit of his consciousness by the time that Josie was done. He weakly lifted his head to find that the bites were starting to heal. "Well, that sucked." MG commented after a few moments of silence, his words followed by a weak chuckle. "Thank you, Jo." He whispered, offering her a gentle smile as he felt his body slowly start getting its strength back and oh how much he'd missed that feeling. He turned his attention to Ethan not long after, offering him the same smile and a quick nod of his head. "M'okay." He assured him in a quiet voice, knowing that Ethan had been beyond worried about MG not making it out of this alive, so he wanted him to feel at ease that he wasn't going to go anywhere anytime soon. He was here to stay. Thanks to Josie's help. He gets to see another day.

It felt so surreal that this was even happening right now. Ethan had thought about telling MG how he felt so many times but the truth was that he had never thought that MG would ever feel the same. They had been close ever since the first day that MG walked into the store and even the distance he had put between them while everything was kicking off with Raziel hadn't changed that. Ethan hadn't known about the supernatural world before he had suddenly found himself thrown into it but he really didn't regret it one bit. Being a vampire wasn't easy and jt was a secret he was having to keep from his mom and sister since he just wasn't sure how they would take it but he had others in his life who knew the truth and he wouldn't change that for the world. He hadn't known that he was developing feelings for MG until it was too late and the last thing he had wanted was to make things awkward between them. That was what had held him back from saying anything but MG had found the courage to do just that and Ethan was so glad he had. As MG asked if he would fight Death to bring him back, Ethan nodded. "I'd fight anyone I had to if it meant bringing you back," he assured MG. Even now so long after losing his dad the pain was still there and Ethan knew that losing MG would hurt that much more so he couldn't stand to even think about something happening to him. "Please don't talk like that, MG. This isn't the end, it can't be," Ethan said, his voice breaking as he spoke. "We haven't had anywhere near enough time together." It was clear that MG was getting worse but there was still no sign of Hope and Ethan was terrified that she might not get there in time. Ethan knew he would fight to keep MG with him but seeing him like this was awful and Ethan had no idea how to help him. All he could do was rub MG's back as he coughed and even through MG's shirt he could feel that the guy was burning up. "You're wanted so much more than you could ever know, I'm sorry you were ever made to feel differently," Ethan said gently. "You mean so much to me, Stefan and everyone here." There were so many people who loved MG and he deserved it all. "MG, you're starting to burn up. Please will you let me go and find Hope?" he pleaded, knowing from looking at MG that there probably wasn't much time left before they were past the point of no return. As MG said the memories they had together were the happiest he'd had in the longest time, Ethan's expression softened. "Same here. I had no idea what to expect when I moved here but you made this place feel like home so quickly. You changed everything and I'll never forget it," he said, quickly blinking away the tears that had formed in his eyes. Ethan had never liked a guy before MG came along and it had taken Ethan a while to get his head around his feelings for him but the way MG's suggestion that they share a bed after Ethan completed the transition had made him feel had been enough to make him realise that there was something so much more there on his part at least. It seemed so unfair that their time together might be cut so short but Ethan knew all too well that life was unfair. MG wouldn't let him go and find Hope so Ethan felt so helpless right now but he knew he needed to honour MG's wishes and stay with him and the truth was he couldn't live with himself if something happened to MG while he was gone. He had never meant anything more than he had when he told MG that he would always love him no matter what, he just hoped they would get the chance to figure all this out together. "I will, thanks. I'll see you soon," Josie said, stealing a kiss before grabbing some blood bags and blurring in the direction of Ethan's room. So many people had been hurt during the fight but the squad members Josie had seen had been pretty lucky up all things considered. MG was the unlucky one it seemed but Josie was confident that she could help. Finally someone showed up but as happy as Ethan normally was to see Josie, this time he had really wanted to see Hope when the door opened. He could see the sad smile on her face as MG called her super girl and Ethan was about to say something when MG said that Josie could help too. "Really?" he asked, relief flooding through him as he gave MG's hand a gentle squeeze. "You're going to be okay, MG," Ethan said, really starting to believe that for the first time since finding out that MG had been bitten. Josie's face fell as MG lifted his shirt and revealed all of the bites that riddled his body. "Oh MG, I had no idea. That must have hurt," Josie said, unable to imagine going through something like that. It was so much worse than Josie had thought from the voicemail and she had a feeling from the way the colour seemed to drain from Ethan's face at the sight of them that it was worse than he had thought too. "This is going to hurt but I'll be as quick as I can," she promised. Letting her hands rest over one of the wounds, Josie could already feel the venom and she began siphoning the magic out of it. She had helped others like this before but hearing the pained sounds MG was making was worse than anything she had ever heard before and it was all she could do to block it out and focus on making sure she neutralised all the venom in her friend's body. "You can do this MG, just hang in there," Ethan said, keeping MG's hand in his the whole time. He knew that Josie was there but she was busy and Ethan knew that he didn't want MG to be alone. Finally it seemed to be over and Ethan watched as Josie helped MG's healing process along. The bites seemed to be disappearing and Ethan let out the breath he hadn't realised he was holding. "Yes, thank you," Ethan said sincerely as he looked over at Josie. "You don’t need to thank me, I'm just sorry you had to wait so long," Josie said gently. She hadn't heard her phone with all the commotion that was going on and it had almost been too late. As MG turned to him and said that he was okay, Ethan let out a shaky laugh. "You're okay," he repeated. Keeping MG's hand in his, Ethan let his free hand rest against MG's cheek and kissed him, not caring in the least that Josie was there with them. "I love you," he breathed, needing MG to hear those words again now that he was no longer dying. Ethan just hoped that MG wasn't having any second thoughts now. "Wait, does this mean what I think it means? Are the two of you together?" Josie asked, hoping that MG might have finally found his person at last. MILTON GREASLEY

I know what it's like to think of yourself as a monster
MG let out a weak chuckle at Ethan's words before nodding his head. "I'm honored." He replied, his eyes still on Ethan. "I'd do the same for you. In a heartbeat." MG added a moment later, wanting Ethan to know that he shared the same sentiment. The sound of Ethan's voice breaking was enough to make his own heart hurt. "Hey, it's going to be okay." He assured him but he knew that his voice wasn't that convincing, nor was the state that he was in, but he wanted to at least try to comfort Ethan while he could. His expression softened as he listened to Ethan, giving his hand a weak squeeze to let him know just how much he appreciated those words.
"It's okay. As pops used to say, everyone has their demons. These are mine and I've learned to live with them." MG assured him, his voice raspy as he spoke. "You mean so much to me too, E. So does everyone else." He couldn't believe his luck to have thrown him in the direction of these people. He couldn't be more grateful for having met them in the first place. "S'okay, she'll be here when she's got a moment. M'fine." MG assured him with a shake of his head.
"You're a lovable guy, E. S'hard not to love you." MG offered him with a gentle smile tugging at the corner of his lips. He could feel his lids growing heavier and it was getting harder and harder for him to not succumb to it but whenever his eyes nearly closed, he'd quickly open them again, fearing that he might not wake up if he were to fall asleep right now, despite how much his body was craving it. Meanwhile, Hope was downstairs helping with all the damage done and upon hearing that MG had gotten bitten, she knew that her girlfriend was more than qualified for the task of saving MG. She returned the kiss and nodded her head a few times. "I'll see you soon." She assured her with a small smile resting on her lips before she returned to what she was doing.
Meanwhile, MG's attention drifted to the door once it opened when Josie came to them. He quickly explained to Ethan that she can help when he saw that look on his face. "Told you. I have faith in my super girls." MG said with that same weak smile still resting on his lips as his body started feeling unbearably hot.
MG shook his head a little at Josie's words. "S'okay." He assured her, not wanting her to feel guilty when she had her own battles downstairs to worry about. He gave Ethan a weak squeeze when he saw his reaction, too. MG had tried to downplay his injuries for as long as possible, but he knew that this put on display just how much this had hurt. As much as it hurt, MG pushed through the pain, encouraged by Ethan's words, until it finally stopped and he relaxed on the bed, his head tipped back with a quiet sigh of relief falling from his lips because finally it was over. MG sat up a little more just so he could look at Ethan and Josie better.
"It's okay, super girl. I know it must be hectic down there." MG turned to look at Ethan not long after, his hand resting over Ethan's which was on his cheek. "I'm okay." He assured him with a small smile on his lips and when Ethan kissed him, he returned the kiss with more strength this time around. It wasn't just a slack kiss anymore, but one filled with emotions. "I love you, too." MG whispered against his lips before pulling back to look at Josie before he let out a brief chuckle. "Yeah... My Randy isn't so invisible anymore. Told you guys that he existed." MG joked light-heartedly. He wasn't comparing Ethan to gecko, of course not, it was just an old inside joke that he never thought would actually come true.

"I know you would, you already saved my life once," Ethan said, a smile forming on his face as he looked over at MG. The guy had given Ethan his blood even though his injuries were so severe the day they were attacked and in doing so be had given Ethan another chance at life. MG had already defied death for him once and Ethan knew that he would do the same for MG without giving it a second thought. The guy was his best friend but he was also so much more to him than that. He was the person who had made Ethan feel like he was finally alive again after losing his dad and Ethan knew that he wouldn't change having MG in his life for anything in the world. As MG said it was okay, Ethan shook his head. "In what universe is any of this okay? You're dying, MG. That's never going to be okay," Ethan said, not bothering to try and stop the tears from falling this time around. Ethan knew he should be trying to stay strong for MG right now but the truth was that watching another person he loved was breaking him and there wasn't anything he could do about it which made it that much worse. "That doesn't mean that you don't deserve so much better though," Ethan said gently. MG deserved better than the hand he had been dealt in life but it had made him stronger and Ethan knew he just had to hope that this would as well. "You belong here with us," Ethan assured him. MG's parents might not have wanted him in their lives any longer but Ethan did and he knew that the same was true of their friends as well. They might not love MG in the same way that he did but he still meant a lot to them and Ethan knew that they wouldn't want to lose him either. "That might be too late," Ethan breathed, hating that he was even having to say those words out loud right now. "It's taking too long." He knew MG was right and that Hope would be there as soon as she could but the wait was agonising and Ethan wanted nothing more than to go and find her and bring her to heal MG before the worst happened. "I could say the same for you," Ethan said, a small smile touching his lips as MG said be was a lovable guy and it was hard not to love him. MG definitely fell into that category as well, no one at the school seemed to have a bad word to say about MG but that definitely wasn't a surprise as far as Ethan was concerned. Seeing the way that MG seemed to be struggling to keep his eyes open right now was enough to make Ethan's heart sink. He knew that if MG gave in to sleep then chances were he wouldn't wake up again but MG still wouldn't let him go and get Hope so there wasn't much Ethan could do other than try and keep him talking. Thankfully the cavalry finally arrived and MG didn't seen worried at all when Josie arrived rather than Hope. MG had said that Hope's blood would heal him but it seemed Josie had another idea in mind and Ethan couldn't deny that he was concerned. He liked Josie but with MG's life on the line like it was right now he knew that he didn't want them to take any chances. "You do. I hope this works," Ethan nodded. He was still learning about vampires and the supernatural world as a whole so he wasn’t sure if what Josie was going to do would work since MG had said that Hope's blood was the cure but Josie seemed confident in what she was doing and so did MG so Ethan knew that he had to have faith in them both because the alternative was something he couldn't even stand to think about. It became clear just how much MG had been downplaying his injuries when he lifted his shirt to reveal the bite marks and it was enough to make Ethan feel sick but he knew that he needed to stay strong for MG. "You should have told me how bad it was," Ethan said as he lifted his gaze from the bite marks to meet MG's eyes. He knew that MG had probably been trying to protect him the same way he usually did but Ethan didn't like being lied to even if it was for a good reason. He kept talking to MG as Josie worked, giving him words of encouragement and squeezing his hand every so often. It was clear that MG was hurting and Ethan knew that he wanted nothing more than to take away MG's pain right now but he couldn't so all he could do was try and get him to hang in there. Finally it was over and Ethan's shoulders eventually began to relax. "We definitely have our hands full, a lot of people were hurt," Josie nodded and Ethan immediately began to feel bad that he'd wanted to drag Hope away from that. Ethan would be the first to admit that he had a one track mind when it came to the people he cared about sometimes and seeing MG like that had made him want nothing more than to do something to help him so much so that he hadn't thought about the consequences too much. That was something he knew he was going to have to work on but he was never not going to want to put MG first. There was a tender look on Josie's face as she watched the two of them but Ethan was too focused on MG to even notice. He and MG had kissed before but this time felt different and it was like MG was pouring everything he was feeling into the kiss which was enough to have Ethan doing the same in return. "No second thoughts?" he asked even as his heart raced from MG's whispered words moments before. Even though Ethan knew that MG wasn't the kind of person to confess his feelings because he was dying and want to immediately take them back now that was no longer the case, Ethan still needed to make sure. This was unchartered territory for him having feelings for a guy and he knew that it might be the same for MG so Ethan didn't want MG to feel like he was being pressured into anything. It wasn't long before Josie was asking if they were together, though, and Ethan felt a smile touch his lips at MG's confirmation. "I do and you're stuck with me," Ethan grinned as he gave MG's hand a gentle squeeze. "Congratulations, I'm so happy for you guys! It took you long enough," Josie grinned before holding one of the blood bags she had brought with her out to each of them. "Take these, you both need your strength," she added, knowing that it would help MG feel better and Ethan could probably use it too. "I'll keep this to myself, you guys can tell people when you're ready. I'd better go back down and help Hope, come join us when you can," she said before leaving the two of them to it. I know what it's like to think of yourself as a monster
MG felt his heart squeeze at Ethan's words. "M'not dying, okay? I'll be fine." MG assured him, although he could tell that his voice had gotten a lot weaker than it used to be, so he wasn't so sure that it would sound convincing to Ethan. Like, at all.
MG shook his head with a gentle smile resting on his lips. "My life is already much better for having you in it, E." MG assured him, wincing slightly as he grabbed his side when the pain suddenly flared up. "There's nowhere else I'd rather be." MG answered once his coughs had subsided. "Y'know how to flatter a guy." MG attempted to joke but he coughed again, clutching his side a little harder at the pain but he still refused to let it show just how much pain he was in because Ethan had cried enough times already and he really didn't want to see it happen again. "All I've got is time, E." MG said with a reassuring smile. Immortality was a blessing in most cases, but even immortality wasn't guaranteed if you aren't careful enough. But, by getting bitten, he kept the wolves' attention away from the others and on him, giving them a chance to get the upper hand in a fight that was brutal and bloody.
"Have some faith, E." MG assured him in a gentle voice when he hoped that it'd work. "I didn't want you to worry." MG whispered, his eyes still on Ethan. "Or cry." He added before he turned his attention to Josie, giving her a nod of his head to tell her that he was ready for her to start and boy did it hurt.
But once the pain subsided, he focused back on the fact that he was alive and alright. "No second thoughts." He assured him in a soft voice. He turned his attention to Josie, chuckling at her reaction. "Thank you, Jo. Are you okay? All things considered..." MG thanked her for both her encouragement and the bloodbag. He reached to take the offered blood bag before he looked back at Josie. "Got it, thank you, Jo. Take care out there. We'll join you in a bit." MG said with a nod of his head following, watching her as she walked away. Though he couldn't shake off the thought that he could smell blood lingering around Josie. He chalked it to the fact that she must be dealing with a lot of injured people down there. He turned to look at Ethan not long after, reaching for his hand. "Hey, are you okay? Today was... a lot. How do you feel?" Honestly, MG was trying his damn hardest not to think about it too hard because he knew if he did, he might end up breaking down.

“You can’t guarantee that. You said it yourself before, werewolf bites are fatal for vampires.” Ethan didn’t even want to think about losing MG right now but it was all that kept running through his mind. Aside from his family, MG was the one constant he’d had in his life since arriving in Mystic Falls and he’d come to mean so much to Ethan that just the thought of losing him terrified him but he knew that it was a very real possibility. “You need to save your strength,” he added, not wanting MG to push himself too much. “You’ve made my life better too,” Ethan said gently. As MG grabbed his side and started coughing, Ethan’s eyes widened in alarm. “I’ll do anything to keep you here with us,” Ethan assured him. Every fibre of his being was saying that he should ignore MG’s wishes and go find Hope right now before it was too late but Ethan couldn’t bring himself to go against MG’s wishes, not now. He knew that he would never forgive himself if he left only to find that MG was gone when he got back, no one deserved to die alone and Ethan knew that he couldn’t abandon MG now. “Please MG, take it easy,” Ethan said, placing his hand on MG’s back and rubbing his back gently as he coughed again. It was clear that he was getting worse and Ethan hated to see him like this. MG was always so strong and confident but now he was like a shell of his former self and Ethan couldn’t deny that he was worried. “You know that’s not true, not right now,” he protested as MG said that all he had with time. Ethan couldn’t shake the feeling that that time was rapidly being cut short but there wasn’t anything he could do about it. Nodding as MG told him to have some faith, Ethan knew that he was right. He needed to believe that this was going to work because the alternative didn’t even bear thinking about. “Please promise me you’ll tell me the truth in the future. No matter what, I can take it,” he said, knowing that regardless of what happened or how much it might hurt he needed MG to be honest with him from now on. He might not have given MG reason to believe that earlier but Ethan knew it was his fear of losing MG that had affected him so much and he knew he would do better in the future, he had to. It felt like a lifetime passed as Josie worked on siphoning the magic from the venom but finally MG was beginning to heal and Ethan felt a smile touch his lips as MG said he wasn’t having any second thoughts. “Good because I’m not having any either,” he assured him gently. “I want this.” It had taken him a long time to get his head around the fact that he had feelings for MG but now he had he knew that he didn’t want to go back to having to bury them. As MG asked Josie if she was okay, she let out a shaky breath. “Ask me again when this is all over. Jed is heartbroken right now waiting for Ben to resurrect and we’ve lost others too. It’s going to be a long day,” she explained. Right now she, Hope and the others were working on healing those who were injured but once they’d done that she knew that they were going to have to bring back those they’d lost. There had been casualties like they’d all known there could be but among them were some very dear friends and Josie was doing her best to hold herself together until she’d done everything that she needed to. “I will, you too when you get there,” she nodded, giving them both a small smile before heading back out to help once more. That left Ethan and MG alone once more and Ethan drank deeply from the bloodbag Josie had given him before taking MG’s outstretched hand in Ethan’s free one as the guy reached for his hand. As MG asked how he was feeling, Ethan shook his head. “I should be the one asking you that question,” he protested. “How are you doing?” he asked, hoping that MG would tell him the truth this time. I know what it's like to think of yourself as a monster
MG, as much as he wanted to lie and pretend that he was fine, it seemed like Ethan already knew the harsh reality — he was anything but fine. He was doing his best trying to hang on to his life because he finally had something worth fighting for in his life. Ethan, his family and friends. He had fears that he’d end up all alone after he was abandoned by his parents but he couldn’t have been more wrong and he didn’t want to leave them and go. He didn’t want to lose everyone because life was finally worth living. But, it seemed like no matter how hard he tried, his body was going to continue getting worse and worse. It was the harsh truth that he knew he had to come to terms with. “Don’t worry. It’s just a cough.” MG told him weakly, offering him a small smile. “It’s okay, E. If anything happens, I’m leaving you in good hands here. They’ll take care of you. This is where you belong.” MG whispered, his smile still on his lips despite how weak he was.
“I promise.” He whispered, nodding his head a few times. He didn’t want to put Ethan under more emotional stress, but being open and honest was a good stepping stone for them to establish in their relationship and friendship from so early on. Thankfully, luck decided to stick by his side by not letting him die before Josie could fully siphon the venom out. It was a painful process, but once it was done, his body was already starting to feel a bit better and he knew with the help of blood, he’d be able to continue improving.
“Good. You’re stuck with me, then.” MG said with a gentle smile resting on his lips. It seemed fitting for him to come out to Josie first of all people and her reaction and support was enough to pull a smile on his lips. But, he knew that things were grim out there, so many lives were lost. “Shit.” He breathed out with a small frown tugging at his features. He nodded his head a few times at Josie’s words before he looked over at Ethan once they were alone, asking him if he was okay. “I’ll be okay.” MG assured him, lifting the blood bag. “Once I have some of this.” And with that, MG gulped down some of the blood, letting it work its magic as it helped his body heal. “Thing is, I really thought we’d win without any casualties. But, we lost so many people today and it’s...” MG trailed off with a shake of his head. “Like Jo said, it’s going to be a long day.” MG took another sip from the blood. “Now can I ask you how you’re feeling?”

Ethan could see that MG was lying to him right now and he hated it, MG kept saying he was fine but it was clear to Ethan that he was anything but. Ethan had been learning as much about the supernatural world ever since he was thrown into it the day he became a vampire but he knew that he still had so much to learn. He had missed the warning signs that MG had been bitten more than once and if he had known that then chances were that he would have gone and found Hope himself. Right now all he could focus on was trying to make sure that MG survived this, Ethan felt so helpless and he had never liked feeling that way but he was doing his best to be there for MG. If something did happen then Ethan knew that he didn't want MG to be alone but sitting there and watching someone else he loved as they were dying was enough to break something in Ethan. He had already been through that with his dad and now MG was going through something similar. Ethan knew that he couldn't lose MG, the guy had been through so much and he deserved to have the chance to live his life surrounded by people who loved him. It had taken Ethan a long time to say those words to MG but he'd meant them and he knew that he would do anything to keep MG with him where he belonged. As MG said it was just a cough, Ethan shook his head and pressed a hand to MG's forehead. "It's not just a cough, you're getting worse," he said gently. As MG said that everyone at the school would look after him, Ethan's expression softened. "I'm not worried about that, I can look after myself," Ethan assured him. He knew that he might not necessarily have shown that ever since finding out that MG was sick but he wasn't worried about himself, he was worried about MG. "I belong with you and you belong with me. I truly believe that," he said, letting his hand rest against MG's cheek as he spoke. "It's you I'm worried about, please don't go." The world was a much better place with MG in it and Ethan knew that he wanted it to stay that way. "I'll hold you to that," Ethan assured him. He knew that MG had been doing it to protect him but he really didn't want there to be any lies between them. MG was his best friend but he was also so much more than that and Ethan hoped they would get the chance to explore that but it all hinged on MG making it through this. Thankfully Josie soon arrived and she was able to save MG. All Ethan could do was watch as she worked and hold MG's hand. He longed to be able to take away MG's pain like a werewolf could but that wasn't one of his powers so all he could do was try and soothe MG as best he could. MG already looked so much better by the time Josie was done and Ethan was both surprised and proud when MG let her know that they were together. Ethan hadn't been able to stop himself from kissing MG once he knew he was fine or from telling him that he loved him so MG wouldn't think Ethan had only said those words because he was dying but there was something so freeing about hearing MG tell Josie and it was enough to bring a smile to Ethan's lips. "I'm going to hold you to that," he assured him as MG said he was stuck with him. Ethan wasn't sure whether telling the others would be quite so easy but MG had known them longer so Ethan was more than happy to follow his lead with that. Ethan knew that he was going to have to come out to his family but they already loved MG so he knew deep down that it would all be fine with them and hopefully it would be with MG's family as well. As MG said he would be okay once he’d had some blood, Ethan nodded. "Blood heals all, right?" he said, a smile touching his lips as he opened he own blood bag and began to drink from it. He hadn't realised just how much he'd needed it until he tasted the blood and then he drank deeply, already feeling his strength returning to him. He hated that they had lost people and he wasn't sure whether the true extent of the casualties was even known right now but it would be soon enough. "I know, I thought we would too," Ethan admitted. It had been false hope apparently and he wasn't looking forward to seeing the extent of the damage caused. "It is but we'll face it together," Ethan said as he squeezed MG's shoulder gently. As MG turned the question back around onto him, Ethan thought for a moment before answering. "I'm okay now," he said honestly as his eyes met MG's. "I'm sorry I was a mess before, you needed me to be strong for you and I failed," he sighed. "Seeing you like that reminded me so much of the day my dad died. I sat with him and held his hand while he passed away and it felt like history was repeating itself," he explained. He hadn't told MG that part of the story before but he hoped it put it all into context. "I hated seeing someone else I love like that, I'm so glad you're okay." MILTON GREASLEY
