— and the stars whispered ‘come home’ —
The thing about the powers of a dragon and a phoenix combined together, they would have killed them all if they truly wanted to, but instead from what he could tell, they fought like humans and the injures that the perpetrators displayed were bloody, but they weren't severe either. So, they really must have held back all their strength and it was something that Tomas was beyond grateful for because just delivering the news to Diego that he had arrested Antonio and Ethan weren't going to be easy but if the charges had been more severe, it would have been impossible to break it to Diego in a way that wouldn't immediately fill his heart with so much concern for his brother and his brother's husband. Thankfully, he could tell that the charges against them were going to be light and they could be bailed out of jail, too. As for the other guys, it wasn't going to be as easy since they were in the possession of unauthorized firearms. He paused for a moment upon processing Antonio's words. He glanced over at his partner before he looked over at Antonio. Realistically speaking, he knew that Antonio would never hurt him, nor would his phone call pose a threat to anybody, even the perpetrators despite the fact that Tomas had a feeling that whatever they had done had to be severe enough to get Antonio and Ethan to this point. "Yeah. Yeah, alright. I'll give you my phone." Tomas said with a quick nod of his head following, figuring that it must be an urgent call. "Here, give me your hands. Both of you." Tomas pulled out the small key to the handcuffs that restrained Antonio's hands and unlocked them. He did the same to Ethan's cuffs. He'll have to put them back on before taking them into the station but that would have to wait. It was already difficult enough to arrest them. "Watch your head, alright?" He gently guided them into the car one after the other before he closed the door behind them. He shot a quick look over at his partner to let him know that he'll be leaving first with the two of them but he will be coming back. He got into the cruiser and when he did so, back-up arrived so Tomas felt like it was a good time for him to leave, knowing that his partner won't be alone with those gangsters.
Tomas kept the siren on as he drove them to the police station but on the way he pulled his phone out and handed it to Antonio. "Here." Tomas purposefully slowed down so that he would give Antonio time to finish up the call.

It hadn’t been easy to hold back during the fight, there was a part of Toni that had wanted to give into the grief and anger he felt at seeing Elias die and kill these men the same way he had the ones who had killed Ethan during the war but he knew that wouldn’t do any good. It had been different back then, at that time they had been fighting for their lives every day and night but now they were fighting to keep their children safe. Toni knew that he didn’t want Elias to get hurt again like he had done that day and even though getting rid of the men once and for all would keep him safe the truth was that he and Ethan weren’t killers. Diego had killed his ex because he wasn’t going to stop but the man was a hunter and he had been about to kill Diego, Tommy and Teo so the circumstances were different. These men were human and they had seen a glimpse of the supernatural world but didn’t seem to really understand what they were getting into. Paying them off should have worked but they’d had other ideas and now the police had arrived. Toni knew that there were sure to be uncomfortable conversations all around and he could already see that Tommy didn’t want to have to arrest them but he didn’t have a choice and Toni knew that he wasn’t going to hold it against him. He hadn’t wanted to leave the kids at home alone so now he really was glad that Diego had said he would go and wait with them. Toni knew that this was going to take some time to resolve so he didn’t like their chances of getting back home before Elias revived and he hated that they weren’t going to be able to be there for him but Toni knew that they had to sort this first. “Thank you,” Toni said sincerely as Tommy said that he would give them his phone. Moving so that Tommy could take off the handcuffs, Toni knew that it was only temporary but he was grateful nonetheless. “Will do,” he nodded as Tommy told them to watch their heads. This definitely wasn’t how he thought that their day would end up going and Toni quickly checked on Ethan once they were inside the car, unable to deny that he was worried about his husband. Without even thinking about it he reached for Ethan’s hand once their seatbelts were fastened and took Ethan’s hand in his. “Are you alright?” he asked, his eyes full of concern for his husband as Tommy pulled the car away. The others were sure to follow them to the station so Toni knew they didn’t need to worry about that at least and as Tommy held his phone out, Toni took it from him gratefully. “Thanks Tommy. We’ll explain in a minute, I promise,” he assured the man before unlocking the phone and dialling Evangeline’s number. Thankfully she picked up on the second ring and Toni let out a breath he hadn’t realised he was holding. “Hey Evangeline, it’s Antonio. Ethan and I could really use your help, the men who hurt Elias are back and they found him again today. We need you to meet us at the station and compel them, it’s the only way to keep him safe,” he said quickly, feeling relief flood through him as she said she would meet them there. Evangeline already knew what had happened to Elias the day of the fire so he knew that he didn’t have to worry about explaining any further. “Thank you, we’ll see you soon,” Toni said, ending the call before holding the phone out to Tommy. “Here you go,” he said, his free hand still clutching Ethan’s. “I’m not sure how much Diego told you about Elias but his foster parents got in over their heads with some bad people. Elias ended up having to work for them to try and pay off their debt but his foster parents screwed up again and the men you found us with today killed Elias and his parents and set the apartment building they lived in on fire,” he explained, knowing that Tommy deserved the truth. “We found Elias while we were clearing the building and he burst into flames in front of us so that’s how we found out he was a phoenix. We took him in and thought that was the end of it but the guys are back and they ran into Elias again today. They know there is no way he could have survived so they beat him thinking that they could get him to agree to work for them again. He made it home but he died and we knew we had to stop him getting hurt again. We went there to pay off the debt his foster parents had racked up but they weren’t interested in that, Elias is much more valuable to them. I don’t know if you’ll be able to find enough evidence to charge them with the fire and the murders but either way we need Evangeline to either take their memories of Elias away or make them believe he really did die the day of the fire, we have to keep him safe,” he continued. “I’m just sorry we’re putting you in this position.”TOMAS SILVA

— which brings us back to the hero's shoulders —
Ethan rubbed his wrist after the handcuffs were released by none other than Tommy. He rubbed his other wrist as well before he lowered his head so that he could get into the cruiser with Antonio. This wasn't the end of the day that Ethan was expecting but he didn't carry any regrets, he just wished that he could've been there for Elias when he woke up. But he had to reassure himself that Elias wasn't there alone. He had Eli, Ela, and Diego there with him to take care of him once he resurrects. For now, he knew that he should focus on himself and their little situation as he settled in the backseat of the cruiser. Ethan stayed silent for the most part until Antonio took his hand in his own and asked if he was alright. Only then did his lips stretch into a small smile and he nodded his head a few times. "Yeah — Yeah, I'm okay." Ethan was rarely ever the type to stay silent for that long, so he understood where his husband's concern for him was coming from, but after the night they've both had, Ethan was feeling — overwhelmed in one hand and exhausted in the other. Especially since he can't really remember when was the last time he had allowed himself to get this angry. Probably not since the war and even then, his anger was directed more at his parents than his actual enemies because he just hated them for making him go to war, for putting him through the trauma of seeing his comrades fall. Ethan watched as Antonio made a phone call to Evangeline and that was when he realized how Antonio was going to solve the whole thing with those guys without having to get their hands dirty to ensure that they never get to Elias ever again.
He listened to the conversation and he didn't even have to think twice about what Evangeline's answer was going to be. He knew that she'd help right away, so that at least made him release a soft sigh of relief. His eyes moved between Antonio and Tomas as Antonio explained everything to the other to keep him in the loop of what had led to the fight and he could tell that Tomas was surprised to hear that anybody was capable of hurting a kid as innocent as Elias. He kept his hand in Antonio's, appreciating how grounding it felt to hold his hand like this. "If you want, we can explain everything to Diego." Ethan broke his silence once more, his eyes resting on Tomas' in the rearview mirror.

— and the stars whispered ‘come home’ —
Tomas could tell from their expressions alone that they have had quite the night and it was that realization that made his expression soften. He never thought the day would ever come where he'd have to arrest Diego's family, who were essentially his family too, but here he was and it weighed heavily on his heart. But at the same time, he was grateful that it had been him who arrested them because if it were any other cop, they wouldn't have let Antonio make that call until they got to the station. But, Tomas was willing to risk his job for them because he knew they could be trusted and he knew they'd never betray his trust. "Of course. Take your time." Tomas responded when Antonio promised to tell him everything in a minute. He kept his eyes on the road in the meantime, waiting for Antonio to finish the call and when he did so, Tomas took his phone from Antonio when he prompted him to take it back. "All clear?" He asked in a rather curious manner as he placed his phone back inside of his pocket, his eyes still focused on the road.
Tomas was quiet as Antonio began telling him more and more about Elias. He had heard a few things about the kid, but he never thought that his life had been so difficult. His brows quirked up in surprise before he released a shaky sigh as if he couldn't process what he was hearing and that was exactly what he was feeling in that current moment. He never thought that anybody could be so cruel but those thugs proved to be different, proved to be monsters. It left such a bitter taste on Tomas' tongue and he knew those thugs need to be punished in a way that would make them regret ever hurting that sweet boy. "My god..." Tomas whispered under his breath, his grip on the steering wheel tightening. "That's so messed up. How could they do that to a kid?" Tomas frowned slightly, his eyes focused on the road ahead but his eyes were angry. Now he understood why they had gotten involved in that fight. They had every right to.
"I will find evidence to charge them. They should never be allowed back on the streets." Tomas promised with a small frown tugging at his features before his eyes moved to the rearview mirror to look at Antonio when he apologized. "It's alright. You had no other choice. You just wanted to protect Elias. Both of you. I get it. I would have done the same thing." Tomas assured him with a quick shake of his head. His eyes shifted to Ethan when he heard his next words. "No, it's okay. I'll talk to him. I made him a promise to tell him everything." Tomas assured Ethan with a quick nod of his head following. "Is Diego staying with Elias?"

Toni’s wrists were sore from the cuffs Tommy had put him in but he knew that that would pass soon enough. Truth be told right now he was much more worried about Ethan and Elias and he knew that he needed to make sure that they were going to be alright. Toni had always been protective of the people he cared about but since becoming a father that protective instinct had gone into overdrive and it was the same now that Ethan was back in his life as well. Toni hadn’t known it at the time but he had learned what it was like to love someone and lose them a long time ago and it was something that he knew he never wanted to go through again. They had all been through so much but Toni knew that his family all deserved the chance to be happy and he was determined to make that happen for each and every one of them. He had already found his own happiness with Ethan and the kids and that was something that he had never thought that he would get the chance to find but he knew that he wanted to make sure that they didn’t end up having to go through what he had in order to find it. “It’s been a long day,” Toni said, running his thumb lightly over his husband’s knuckles. Ethan was never normally this quiet so Toni knew that the events of the day had to be taking a toll on him but he hoped that the finish line was in sight and that soon enough they would be back home with their kids. He hated the fact that they couldn’t be there for Elias when he woke up but at least Diego and the girls would be with him and that was something at least. Taking the phone from Tommy, Toni offered him a grateful smile when he told him to take his time. There was a part of him that wanted to call Diego and see how Elias and the girls were doing as well but Toni knew that he was probably already pushing his luck by asking to borrow Tommy’s phone to call Evangeline so he knew that he didn’t want to make things worse for Tommy by calling Diego as well. Ending the call once he had spoken to Evangeline, Toni nodded. “All good, we owe you one. Evangeline is going to meet us there,” he said to both Tommy and Ethan. It was a relief, that was for sure, but then again he hadn’t doubted what her answer would be. They worked so closely together between the adoption agency and the group home and the three of them always helped each other when they could so this time it was just a little more personal than the others. Lifting their joined hands, Toni pressed a light kiss to Ethan’s knuckles before letting his head rest against his husband’s shoulder for a moment. They hadn’t talked about how best to deal with the guys now that paying them off hadn’t worked but Toni wasn’t sure that there was another way that didn’t involve killing them and Toni knew that if they did that then they wouldn’t be any better than the guys who had hurt Elias in the first place. Lifting his head from Ethan’s shoulder, Toni kept his husband’s hand in his as he began to explain everything to Tommy. It was clear that Tommy was shocked and Toni really couldn’t blame him. It was hard to believe that one kid could go through so much but Elias had survived it and Toni knew that it was their job to make sure that he never found himself in that position again. “I have no idea. We’ve both seen a lot of awful things but the way they hurt him the first time was like nothing I’ve ever seen before. It was like they took pleasure from hurting him and it was the same when he made it home today.” Just the thought was enough to make Toni feel sick to his stomach. “Given the way they were taunting us before the fight started I think they get off on causing others pain.” There were awful people out there, that was for sure, but those guys were a different kind of evil altogether. “You’re right, they shouldn’t,” he nodded as Tommy said that the guys should never be allowed back on the streets. “I hope you find enough that they lock them up and throw away the key. If there’s anything we can do to help let us know,” he offered, knowing that they wouldn’t hesitate in doing everything they could to make sure that the guys who hurt Elias were never able to do that to anyone else again. Meeting Tommy’s gaze in the mirror, Toni nodded. “It’s what we do for the people we love,” he said as a smile touched his lips. Tommy had done something similar for Diego when he’d found the people who had hurt him so Toni was glad that he understood. “Are you sure?” he asked as Tommy said that he would tell Diego. He was glad that Tommy was keeping his promise to Diego but the last thing Toni wanted was for him and Ethan to make things awkward between the two of them. “Yeah he is, he’s looking after him and the girls,” he nodded. “Would you mind letting him know that we’re okay and we’ll be home as soon as we can?”TOMAS SILVA

— which brings us back to the hero's shoulders —
Ethan breathed out a soft "yeah." in agreement with Antonio when he mentioned that it has been a long day. It certainly has been and at the moment he felt exhausted but with the way that their night was heading, he knew that chances of them going home right away were very, very slim, if not completely none existent. So, he knew that their night was just about to stretch for a little while longer and it made him realize that he might end up missing being there for Elias once he revives, but he knew that now was not the time for regrets and not to mention he had known that he could end up getting into trouble when he got involved in that fight but he still chose to fight back, so he might as well accept the consequences of his own actions, especially since a part of him did want to hurt those guys, that part had been there ever since he left the house which was surprising, probably, since Ethan was rarely ever the violent type, that was more like his father's thing and he had made a vow to never be like his father (and mother) because they were not good examples but he knew that his violent acts had stemmed from a part that cared very deeply.
Just the thought of them being out there, ready to attack Elias the next time they see him — it didn't sit well with him, it was never going to sit well with him, so he knew that he had to do something about those guys. It didn't matter much to him what they'd do, though. Either way, he was determined to find a way to deal with those guys before the end of the night.
Ethan was relieved to hear that Evangeline was going to meet them at the station because he knew that with her abilities, she should be able to compel those guys to stay the hell away from Elias for good. Ethan released a soft relieved sigh and nodded his head before his expression softened when Antonio pressed a kiss to his knuckles before he let his head rest on his shoulder. Ethan let his head rest against Antonio's, his eyes fluttering shut for a moment because just for a moment, everything felt okay again. But then he opened his eyes and he was reminded why they were in the cruiser, why they were in the cruiser, why they had to get involved in that fight in the first place and was reminded that his boy was currently dead back at home and it made him feel like his heart was lodged in his throat.
He was quiet for the most part as he listened to the conversation between Antonio and Tomas, shaking his head slightly as he released a sigh, the edge of his lips dropping down into a frown. "They're greedy psychopaths who care about nothing other than what they want, doesn't matter who they hurt in the process. They're just —" Ethan trailed off with a frown tugging at the corner of his lips, his eyes speaking in thousands of emotions, ones that he couldn't display through the tone of his voice or even his expression. "Monsters."
Ethan stayed quiet once more, seeming like he was lost in his thoughts but from the frown on his features, he wasn't thinking about anything pleasant. If anything, it was all too clear he was thinking about those criminals. His lips parted to say something but he stopped himself, wondering if he should say something like that out loud but then just the thought of them being able to walk out again and possibly find a new victim immediately made him talk, his voice was rather quiet. "What if we just compel them to never leave jail? It's not like anyone's going to miss them. Hell, the world would be a better place without them in it."
Ethan hoped that the younger wouldn't end up getting into trouble because of them but if he did, then he'd be happy to talk to Diego to explain everything to him. It was a sticky situation, that was for sure. But he hoped that the two would be able to talk it out without things getting even messier between the two of them.

Tomas nodded his head a few times, feeling at least relieved that their friend will be coming to deal with the other guys to make sure that they never hurt anyone again, especially Elias. A kid who seemed so innocent and so undeserving of every terrible thing that has ever happened to him.
He was quick to voice his own thoughts by saying that he just didn't understand how anybody could hurt someone as innocent as Elias. He could tell that the kid's life was difficult and it made his heart ache for him. His eyes lifted to settle on the rearview mirror so he could look at Antonio as he spoke. "Hopefully your friend will make sure they never find him or hurt him again." Tomas couldn't help but feel bad for the young boy because he didn't deserve any of the hard ships that life seemed to throw his way but he had been so brave so far, and not to mention strong too for being able to push through it all and survive. Ethan's next words were enough to make him press his lips together. He understood that it wasn't easy at all for Ethan to go through something like that because the kid was their son, after all, so Tomas wasn't going to hold his words against him because he knows better than anyone just how much the Alvarez family care for each other.
"Because it's not the right thing to do, despite everything they've done. I think you know that deep down, it won't make you sleep any better." Tomas' voice was soft as he spoke, offering Ethan a gentle smile. His heart really did go out for them for the terrible night they've had so far and he felt terrible because he knew that he was going to make it even worse for them.
"Don't worry, I won't stop until I put them behind bars for everything they've done." Tomas promised with a quick nod of his head following. He nodded his head in agreement with Antonio with a small smile resting on his lips. "You're absolutely right." There wasn't anything in the world that he wouldn't do for Diego. "I'm sure." He knew that delivering the news wasn't going to be easy, but it had to be done. He'd made a promise to not keep anything from his boyfriend and he wasn't going to break it. Not now, or ever.
Tomas nodded his head with a small smile on his lips when Antonio revealed that Diego was at home looking after the kids. Then Antonio's next words came through and he nodded again. "Yeah, of course. I'll be sure to tell him as soon as possible." Tomas promised with a quick nod of his head following, his eyes relaxing on the road once more. "Alright, we should be arriving soon." Tomas revealed as he paid attention to the road, driving them closer and closer to the police station.

Toni really did feel tired right now but he knew that it would still be a while before they would be able to relax and go to bed. He hadn't for one moment thought that any of this would end up happening but he didn't regret the steps that they had taken to protect Elias. He was their son and he had already been through so much so Toni knew that they both wanted to make sure that he didn't end up getting hurt again. It had been clear that Elias hadn't wanted them to get involved but it was the only way to keep him safe and Elias wasn't used to having people who would fight for him. He had grown up in foster care and it was clear how used to being alone the boy was but he didn't have to deal with everything on his own any longer and Toni knew that this was a way of making sure that he didn't try and do that again this time. Letting his head rest against his husband's shoulder, Toni felt a smile touch his lips as Ethan's head soon rested against his. If he closed his eyes it would be so easy to forget everything that had happened that day and forget that they were in the back of a police car but that wasn't reality and Toni knew that they couldn't escape what was happening no matter how nice it might be to do so. It was a relief to know that Evangeline would be meeting them there, she could at least compel the men into leaving Elias alone and he had been tempted to ask if she could compel them to turn themselves in for everything that they had done but he knew deep down that that would be asking for too much. Right now as long as Elias was safe then that was what Toni was most concerned about, the rest of it they would figure out later. "She will," Toni nodded as Tommy said that hopefully their friend would make sure that the guys never find or hurt Elias again. "You might know her actually, she owns the Grill," he added. Toni knew that Evangeline liked to keep what she was to herself for the most part but Tommy could be trusted and he would figure it out the moment he saw her anyway so Toni knew that there wasn't any point in keeping the truth from him. "You're right, they are monsters," Toni agreed. "They would have to be to hurt Elias." Their son wouldn't hurt anyone but the men seemed to take pleasure from hurting him and that alone made them monsters in Toni's eyes. As Ethan asked about compelling them to never leave jail, Toni's expression softened. "I had a similar thought, I thought about asking Evangeline to compel them into confessing to what they've done," he admitted. "I want them behind bars for the rest of their lives as much as you do but if we take matters into our own hands like that we wouldn't be any better than them, it's the same as if we had killed them," he said gently, hoping that Ethan would understand. "I know it sucks but as long as Elias is safe I think we just have to trust Tommy and the others to bring them to justice the right way." It would be too easy for them to lose themselves in bring the men to justice themselves if they did that and that was something that Toni knew that they couldn't afford to do, especially not now when they had so much to lose. "Thank you," Toni said sincerely as Tommy said he wouldn't stop until he had put the guys behind bars for everything that they had done. Toni really did trust Tommy to keep his word so he knew that they were just going to have to be patient. Nodding as Tommy agreed with him, Toni's expression softened as Tommy said he was sure about telling Diego. "Alright, just let us know if we need to have a word with him," he offered, knowing that he really didn't want to make things awkward for Tommy and Diego. "Thanks, I hope they're all alright," he admitted. He hated not being able to check in on them but he knew that he just had to believe that they would be alright as long as they had each other. Nodding as Tommy said they should be arriving soon, Toni gave his husband's hand a gentle squeeze. "I know this might be a big ask but is there any chance we'll be able to stay together when we get there?" he asked, not too sure how it all worked since he had never been in this position before. — which brings us back to the hero's shoulders —
Ethan had no idea that Evangeline would be able to take care of things pretty well on her own and if there was anyone that they counted on to do this perfectly, it would be her. He watched Tomas to see if he would be able to recognize Evangeline and the look of recognition that crossed his features told Ethan that he had, indeed, recognized who Toni was talking about and it made a small smile tug at the corner of his lips. Though the smile did vanish when they talked about those criminals and instead, that smile was switched into a frown as he shook his head. "It just doesn't make any sense to me — how anyone could be that awful." It made him angry just thinking about them hurting Elias and thinking that they were going to get away with it because they thought they were invincible and too powerful. It made his fist clench and burn with the urge to punch them, to hurt them just like how they had hurt Elias. If he had been given more time, he would have taken out all of his anger on those bastards and even then, it wouldn't have felt enough.
Ethan let out a quiet sigh as he listened to Tomas. His words made sense and it did work in stifling his anger just a little bit. "I know." Ethan breathed out, the same frown still tugging at the corner of his lips. He was quiet as he listened to Toni before he nodded his head slowly. "It's just —" Ethan trailed off with a sigh falling from his lips. "I want them to pay for what they have done." Ethan added with a small frown tugging down at the edge of his lips. "But you're right. Doing this the right way will be much better." He relented and nodded his head. As much as he wanted to punish those guys with his own hands, he knew that bringing them to justice and having them punished by the law would be better. "Exactly. I know that you are feeling upset and hurt right now, but it won't make you feel any better if you take matters into your own hands. Believe that I won't let them leave prison." Tomas spoke in a soft voice, his eyes leaving the road momentarily so that he could look at Ethan through the rearview mirror. Ethan nodded his head slowly. "I believe you and I trust you." Ethan promised with a quick nod of his head following. "I guess I just let my anger get in the way. Thank you, for making me think clearly." He thanked both Toni and Tomas with a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "It just been... a long day." That was honestly the biggest understatement of the year, huh?
Ethan watched the two of them talk, his lips stretching into a small smile. "Yeah, of course. I'm sure I can work that out for you guys. I think that after the night you've both had, you shouldn't be separated." Tomas said with a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. "Thank you, Tommy. Really." Ethan added in a soft voice. "Please, don't thank me. It's the least that I can do.' Tomas assured him in a soft voice, his eyes checking the rearview but for a different reason, he wanted to check if his partner was following him to the station or if he was a bit far behind. The car slowly came to a stop and that was when he realized that they had arrived at the station already. "Okay, are you ready for this? It's going to be a bit crowded in there and probably intimidating. Actually, it is intimidating, but... I won't let anything bad happen to either one of you. I promise. We'll go in when you're ready."

Toni had grown so used to having to fly under the radar and not let anyone know what he was that to be honest it was a relief to be able to do things differently this time around. He and Ethan had friends in town who were human but they also had others who were supernatural or at least knew about that world. It meant that they had people like Tommy and Evangeline that they could count on and Toni knew that he wouldn’t have it any other way. He knew that they could trust Evangeline to compel the guys into forgetting all about Elias and that would ensure that their son would stay safe which was all that he and Ethan wanted. They had spent such a long time trying to find a way to break the girls’ curse but this time it was Elias that needed their help and Toni knew that they were going to make sure that he didn’t have to go through anything like this again. Toni could see the recognition on Tommy’s face when he said that their friend owned the Grill and Toni felt a smile touch his lips although that quickly faded at Ethan’s words. “I know what you mean. Elias is such a sweet kid, he wouldn’t hurt anyone,” Toni nodded. “We’ll keep him safe, don’t worry,” he added as he gave Ethan’s hand a gentle squeeze. They weren’t going to fail Elias, they would make sure of it. Hearing the way Tommy talked Ethan down was enough to bring a small smile to Toni’s lips. He seemed to know just the right thing to say and Ethan seemed happy to listen to him so Toni really was grateful. He knew that Ethan’s heart was in the right place, he wanted to stop the men from hurting Elias again and that was something that Toni wanted too but they needed to go about this the right way and he honestly believed that they were. “They will pay for it, one way or another,” Toni assured him gently. Hurting people wasn’t in either of their natures, it was down to them to protect people and Toni knew that they couldn’t let who they were change but the truth was that when it came to their kids he knew that they would both do anything to keep them safe. Thankfully now the guys were going to be behind bars it made it easy for Evangeline to get to them and that was what Toni was counting on right now. “We know you won’t,” Toni said gently as Tommy said that they needed to believe that he wouldn’t let the guys leave prison. Tommy was family and Toni knew that they could trust him. As Ethan spoke again, Toni felt a smile touch his lips. “You would have got there on your own sooner or later, we just helped you along a little,” he said, leaning over and kissing Ethan’s cheek gently when he said it had been a long day. Toni knew that asking not to be separated from Ethan was a lot but the truth was that he didn’t like the idea of being away from his husband right now. So much had happened over the last few hours but Ethan always kept him grounded and Toni loved him for that. “Thank you, that really means a lot,” Toni said gently. He had no idea what was going to happen when they got there or who else was going to be there. If anything happened then he knew that they would both be fine since they were supernatural but with any luck by sticking together they wouldn’t have to worry about anyone else. It didn’t take long after that for them to reach the station and a sigh escaped Toni’s lips as he looked up at the building. “Thanks Tommy, we owe you,” Toni said as Tommy said that it was intimidating but he wouldn’t let anything happen to either of them. “Are you ready for this?” he asked as he turned in his seat and his eyes met Ethan’s. “I guess you’re going to have to put the cuffs back on, huh?” he added as he glanced back in Tommy’s direction.
