Meet José and Maria Alvarez, they are the parents of ANTONIO ALVAREZ and DIEGO ALVAREZ, soon to be in-laws of ETHAN ALVAREZ, grandparents of ADELINA ALVAREZ and GABRIELA ALVAREZ and the adoptive grandparents of ELIAS ALVAREZ (Elias is Ethan’s biological son but no one knows that yet).

José and Maria were both born in Spain over a thousand years ago. They were best friends and it is there that they fell in love but they were young and reckless and they caught the attention of hunters who ended up wiping out their whole families leaving them with just each other. They fled after that and what happened to them is open as is their exact ages, how they met, etc. All I would ask is that the things that have been developed for them already are kept the same, namely that they had several children before Antonio was born and all of them died at the hands of hunters because they were reckless and didn’t hide what they were. By the time Antonio came along they had all but given hope of having a child survive and they struggled to bond with him at first but as he started getting older they realised that he was different to their other children and they started getting closer to him.

They were always quite strict when he was younger and but he still did his best to make them proud. More detail can be found in my apps for Antonio and Diego but Diego kept the fact that he’s gay from them for a long time because he wasn’t ready to admit it to himself or have them start looking at him differently and Antonio kept his history with Ethan to himself as well because it was too painful for him to talk about. They struggled to come to terms with Antonio and Ethan being together when Antonio introduced them but they learned to accept it because he was happy and so were the girls. Antonio and Ethan adopted Elias together but when they announced that they were engaged it hit José and Maria quite hard. They were born a long time ago and are incredibly old fashioned so learning that their son was marrying another man wasn’t something that they were able to come to terms with straight away. Diego heard them arguing and talking about not going to the wedding and it was then that he came out to them and told them that if they didn’t change their way of thinking and support Antonio and Ethan then they would lose their whole family in one go.

The only other thing to point out is that Adelina and Gabriela were aged up by the spell after Antonio moved them to Mystic Falls but the girls don’t know that and neither does the rest of the family. We’re not intending on them finding out at all.

I would love for José and Maria to show up now in Mystic Falls and make things right with their family. They’ll have thought a lot about it and realised that as long as their boys are happy then it doesn’t matter who they love.

As always I’m open to plotting out other things for them too and there is a lot that could have happened with the boys. Faces can also be changed but either way I’d love for them to be picked up
