– I freed myself from words never said –
For someone who was used to the parties that sometimes happened at the school, he was stressing a lot for a party that he was throwing for his friends in his and Ben's new home. Maybe because he was the one throwing the party and not just being there to enjoy the good vibes and the free drinks. The house itself was clean without anything amiss, all the decorations they had put together to make the house feel more like a home made it feel a lot more lived-in.
There were fairy lights that he'd put up as decorations for the party and balloons here and there to put together the partying spirit. The best thing was that they could be as loud as they wanted without risking a complaint from the neighbors. Well, they could get one, but it's not like the neighbors live right next door where they could feel the thudding and the vibrations of the loud music. So, either way, it was a big win in Jed's opinion. Jed grabbed the cooler and carried it to the living room, not really minding how heavy it was. He filled it moments later with some beer so that they could enjoy it chilled. With a glance at the time, he realized that the squad were literally just minutes away from arriving. He wondered if they would all be together or if they will arrive one after the other.
Well, only one way to find out, right?
"Okay," Jed clapped his hands together, satisfied with everything at last. "They should be here any minute now." Jed revealed a moment later. "Do you think we've missed anything? We've got the food, the drinks, any games they might wanna play, and we've got movies and popcorn, just in case." Maybe he was over-prepared for a harmless party, but hey, better to be over-prepared than under-prepared, right?
And of course, he had the music, too. So they should be all good. "Who knew throwing parties was so stressful." Jed wiped imaginary sweat from his forehead as he propped his hand on his waist. "Or maybe it's more like I'm the one stressing over nothing... It looks good, right?"

Ben had never thought that this would end up being his life, finding someone he loved let alone moving in with them had always seemed like nothing but a fantasy to Ben but that was exactly what had happened. He and Jed had their own place now and Jed had suggested that they throw a party so their friends could see the house and celebrate with them. By now the unpacking was done and they had definitely put their own stamp on the place so he couldn’t wait to see what the others thought of it. It had taken them a while to get it decorated for the party but he’d pitched in as much as he could, doing everything that Jed had asked of him since the truth was that Ben didn’t really have that much experience of going to parties. He had never really thought about it too much and the closest he had ever really come had been going to bars or clubs so he was more than happy to follow Jed’s lead with the decorating. The house afforded them plenty of privacy as that was one of the things they had wanted when they had started looking for a place so he wasn’t really worried about the neighbours too much but he knew that their friends weren’t the kind to get too rowdy either so he knew that it would be just fine. As Jed grabbed the cooler and carried it through to the living room, Ben sorted out the music and he felt a smile touch his lips as Jed clapped his hands together and said that the others would be arriving any minute. “I don’t think we’ve forgotten anything and if we have I can just pop out and get it,” Ben assured him, making his way over to Jed and running his hands down his boyfriend’s neck and over his shoulders. “Just relax, it’s going to be fine. They’re our friends and they’re coming over to help us celebrate, I’m sure they’re not going to worry about anything else,” he added, hoping to ease Jed’s mind a little. “You’re definitely stressing over nothing. You’ve done a great job so don’t worry. It all looks perfect,” Ben promised before catching sight of the time and realising that Jed was right, they would be arriving any minute. “We’re going to be surrounded by people we care about so it’s going to be perfect. Don’t stress.”JED SALTZMAN

When Ben assured him that hey hadn't forgotten anything, he felt his shoulders sag in relief. "Yeah, you're right. You're right." Jed was definitely stressing over nothing, so at least it felt good to know that if they did wind up missing anything, they could easily fix that. Honestly, knowing their friends, they really wouldn't mind if they had missed anything. Chances of them requesting anything were also pretty slim. He felt a soft smile tug at the corners of his lips when he felt Ben's hands move from his neck down to his shoulders. It helped him relax even more. "You're absolutely right 'bout that. They wouldn't even say a thing. I don't know why I'm so stressed." Jed said with a chuckle falling from his lips not long after. It should go pretty well.
Ben's words were more than enough to ease all of his worries and so, he finally stopped stressing about everything and anything and just let the matter go. He did chuckle though when Ben told him that he was definitely stressing over nothing. "Okay, I'm no longer stressing. I'll trust that we've got everything and if we did end up missing anything, it'll be an easy fix. It's all good. It's probably because this is the first time I'm the one throwing the party." Jed said decidedly, his words followed by determined nod of his head. He was about to ask Ben if he wanted to have a beer while they waited but there was a knock on the door that interrupted him. "Oh, here they are." Jed said with a grin fixed on his lips.
"Coming!" Jed moved away from Ben after leaving a quick kiss on his boyfriend's cheek so that he could open the door for their guests. "Welcome! To our humble abode." Jed opened the door wider and stepped aside so they could enter.
"Wow." Hope voiced her amazement as she took a moment to take in everything before she turned her attention to Ben and Jed, holding out the gift she had gotten for them. "Congratulations on the move. I hope you guys have a wonderful time in your new home." Hope congratulated them with a gentle tone. Her gift was a bottle of expensive wine. A brand also known for its rich flavor. It would certainly leave a good impression. It was wrapped carefully in wrapping paper. The 'congratulations' only increased from there, as well as the gifts as Landon, MG, Gabriela all gave their gifts too, varying from throw blankets, to kitchen necessities, and a 'try 'em all set' which could easily fuel forty-five different meals. "Thank you guys, seriously. You didn't even need to bring anything."
He really didn't even need to stress all that much, huh? Ben was right. Everything was perfect.

“It’s strange being the one telling you not to stress, I could get used to this,” Ben admitted, a teasing smile forming on his face as he looked over at his boyfriend. Too many times Jed had ended up telling him not to worry about different things but this time it was Ben’s turn to do that for Jed and he hoped that it was working. It wasn’t like they were having a load of strangers over anyway, it was only going to be their friends and that was as it should be. They’d had the time to unpack and get the house the way they wanted it so now it was time to celebrate with some of the people who mattered most to them. None of their friends had said they thought it was too soon for them to be moving in together or anything like that, they had been completely supportive and that meant the world to Ben. “You’re right, they wouldn’t. They won’t judge us if we forgot anything so let’s have some fun.”As Jed said this was his first time being the one to throw the party, an understanding look crossed Ben’s face. “Now it makes sense why you’ve been worrying so much,” he nodded. “This might be the first time but it doesn’t have to be the last, we can have these any time you like,” he offered, knowing that it would be nice to have their friends over now that they actually had a place to call their own. It wasn’t long before there was a knock on the door and Ben couldn’t stop a smile from forming on his face as he realised how excited Jed now seemed to be. Jed left a quick kiss on his cheek but that wasn’t enough for Ben and he quickly caught his boyfriend’s hand before he turned away and pressed a gentle kiss to Jed’s lips before letting him move away to answer the door. Moments later their friends entered the house and Ben’s smile widened. “Hey guys, come on in,” he said, holding his hands out for their jackets so they could be more comfortable. Hope, Landon, MG and Gabriela were the first through the door but Josie, Raf and Adelina were there too and it wasn’t long before Josie was hugging first Jed and then Ben and Ben quickly returned the hug. “This place looks amazing, I’m so happy for you guys,” she beamed and that was enough to have Ben’s smile return. “Thanks Jo, we’re glad you can see it now we’ve finished unpacking.” It had been a bit of a mess before but it looked so much better now and he was glad that they all got to see it. Josie, Raf and Adelina had all brought gifts with them too and Ben’s expression was grateful as he took them all in. “Jed’s right, you really didn’t need to get us anything but we really do appreciate it. Thank you,” he said sincerely. Truth be told Ben wasn’t sure how the whole housewarming thing normally worked but so far it seemed to be going pretty well. “How about we give you a tour and then we can all grab a drink?” he suggested. – I freed myself from words never said –
Jed let out a chuckle at Ben's words before he fondly rolled his eyes. "Okay now, don't get used to it. I'm giving you the role back after tonight. It's too – stressful." There was a teasing smile locked on his lips as he spoke. Honestly, he was stressing over nothing and he knew that much, at least. It was just difficult to shut off that part of his brain that screamed a lot of 'what if's and just tossed unrealistic scenarios at him one after the other. But he finally managed to shut it off and focused on the fact that they were throwing a party and you really can't mix party and stress. It just doesn't go well together. So, he tossed aside his worries so that they could have some much-needed fun.
"Oh, hell yeah. I'd be down for that." Jed would be more than happy to throw a party every now and then, just gathering their friends and loved ones to have a night to destress and have fun.
It didn't take long at all for their friends to arrive and the knock on the door was enough to spring him to action as he leaned in for a quick kiss on his boyfriend's cheek just because he felt like it and moved in the direction of the door only for Ben to bring him back and kiss him. "Oh," Jed managed to voice his surprise before their lips met, effectively shutting him up. Now Jed almost forgot all about answering the door and happily returned the kiss instead, taking a moment to realize why they had stopped kissing. Their friends.
There was a smile tugging at the corners of his lips as he finally began heading toward the door, clearing his throat before opening it, greeting his friends with a bright grin. If you ask Jed, he really had no idea how housewarming parties went, but he was pretty surprised to see that they had brought gifts with them. So far, none of his friends had moved into a house or apartment of their own. They were the first ones to do it. So Jed was making a mental note of everything to return the favor once his friends move into their own apartments or homes in the future. If they chose to, that is.
Jed was all too happy to return Jo's hug, his arms wrapping around his sister. "Thank you, Jo. Really." Jed replied softly before pulling away from the hug. "Oh, god, yeah. Ben had so much stuff that we almost tip-toed around the bedroom for a while." Jed teased, pretending as though he wasn't the one with the most stuff between the two of them.
"Oh, dude, no way that's true. I've been to your room before. You even had all those twilight posters in there before you took 'em down. I wonder why." MG was all too happy to expose Jed's dirty laundry all with that big teasing grin of his. Karma was lively today, wasn't she? He barely had the time to bask in the glory of teasing Ben a little bit.
All teasing aside, he really was grateful for his friends. He hadn't expected them to come bearing gifts. "Thank you, guys." Jed said once again, his smile still evident on his lips.
"Sounds like a plan to me." Hope agreed easily with Ben's offer to show them around first before grabbing drinks. Gabriela, MG, and Landon all began to nod soon after. "Okay, let's start then." Jed gave Ben the opening to take initiative of the tour, ready to help out if Ben needed him to.

“Oh no, I’m definitely going to get used to it. You can keep that role,” Ben teased, an amused look on his face as he looked over at Jed. He knew that he was normally the one who worried about things too much but this time it was Jed’s turn and Ben was more than happy to try and reassure him. It was cute how nervous he was really, Jed wanted the night to be a special one and Ben knew that it was going to be. They were going to be celebrating with their friends and that was as it should be. They were the first ones to move in together but he knew that he wouldn’t be surprised if it was only a matter of time before the others all started to follow suit. They were in college now so they weren’t kids anymore but there always seemed to be so much going on so there was a part of him that hoped that they wouldn’t all try and find the perfect time to start the next chapter of their lives. One thing Ben had figured out the hard way was that there was no such thing as the perfect moment, things were always going to happen that they couldn’t predict and there wasn’t any reason why that should stop them from living their lives. “I thought you might be,” Ben grinned as Jed said that he would be down for throwing parties more often. With everything that was going on it would be worth it to give everyone the chance to unwind for a while and their place would give them the perfect place to do that. One thing Ben knew that he would never be able to settle for was a kiss on the cheek. It was easy for him to draw Jed in for a proper kiss even though their friends were waiting at the door and for a moment he lost himself in the kiss but he soon needed to pull back. “We can do more of that later,” he said, a smile touching his lips as Jed went to go and answer the door. It was nice not having to worry about being interrupted now that they were in their own home, at the school they’d had the dorm room but that had been it and when they were at Jed’s parents’ place they’d tried to be on their best behaviour when Jed’s family were around. Now they didn’t have to worry about that and it was refreshing to say the least. He hadn’t expected any of their friends to show up with gifts but Ben knew that he and Jed would have to return the favour when it was their turn to start moving into their own places. Josie, Hope, Adelina and Gabriela all still lived with their parents while MG lived with the Salvatores and Raf and Landon still called the school their home. They were all spread out across the town but they were always there for each other at a moment’s notice and he knew that they always would be. As Jed said that they’d had to tiptoe around the bedroom for a while because of all his stuff, Ben couldn’t help but laugh. “Guilty as charged,” he joked, knowing that actually the majority of the stuff they’d had when they’d moved in had belonged to Jed. As MG called Jed out on what he’d said, Ben couldn’t help but laugh. “Is that so?” he asked, an eyebrow raised as he looked over at his boyfriend. “Those posters were all gone the first time I saw your room,” he teased, unable to resist. “Great,” Ben nodded, a smile touching his lips as Hope said the tour sounded like a plan and Jed said they should get started. Normally Ben was happy to take a backseat and let Jed do more of the talking when they were around their friends but he was trying to come out of his shell more so he led the way with Jed’s hand clasped in his. Showing the others around the house, when they were done they ended up in the living room where everything was waiting for them. “And that’s the ground tour, what do you guys think?”JED SALTZMAN

Jed let out a gasp, feigning surprise when Ben told him that he was going to get used to it. "Can't believe you." He shook his head, feigning disappointment at the fact that Ben was going to let him keep the role of the stressed-out boyfriend. All things considered, now he knew that there was no reason for him to get so stressed out because the party was exclusively for their friends and if there was one thing that he knew (and loved) about their friends, it was that they weren't the type to judge. Jed took one more look around him to make sure that the decorations were holding their places and turned his attention back to Ben, his lips stretching into a gentle smile. The whole concept of gathering their friends and just celebrating and enjoying each other's company was something that made him feel really happy. So, of course, he'd immediately find the idea of throwing more parties in the future to be a great one. Hopefully next time, he'd be sensitized to the whole 'throwing a party' thing and won't stress about it as much.
Jed, for a moment, considered letting their friends linger outside for a moment so he could sink more into the feeling of kissing Ben but he realized where his train of thought was going and reluctantly pulled away. Jed's lips stretched into a soft smile as he nodded his head a few moments after. Ben was throwing a lot of great ideas today. First the parties and then continuing where they left off later on. Great ideas.
Jed's lips stretched into a grin when Ben played along even though they both knew it was far from the truth. Though karma soon turned to him and made him pay for teasing Ben a bit. Ben joined the teasing not long after which made Jed's cheeks flush a bit. "It was, uh, just a phase, really. I grew out of it." Jed sent a heatless glare in MG's direction who absorbed it with that cheeky grin of his, looking completely undeterred.
Jed was more than happy to let Ben take over the tour, wanting nothing more than to encourage Ben to come out of his shell a bit more and so far, he was doing really great. There was a proud smile on his lips as he listened to Ben explain what each room was and so on. In Jed's opinion, he was a wonderful tour guide.
"I think it's a really beautiful home," Landon spoke up. He was one of the shy ones in the squad, but Jed hoped that with time, he'll also come out of his shell some more. "Agreed!" Gabriela excitedly agreed, her grin visible on her lips. Both MG and Hope agreed, too. "Ten outta ten for sure." MG added along with his agreement.
"I'm glad you guys think so. You're more than welcome to come over often. Except for you, MG. You can visit us annually. Which means you're set for this year, bud. So enjoy it while you can." Jed said with a pleased smile resting on his lips, enjoying the offended gasp that followed from MG. Heh. Payback.
"Alright, time to enjoy some drinks." Ben's hand was still in his own but he can manage with one hand, that's completely fine. Jed moved with Ben toward the cooler to open it. "If you ever need something from somewhere, feel free to grab it. Mi casa s–" Jed's brows furrowed for a moment. "Mi casa stu–" What was it again?
"Es su casa?" Hope finished for him as the sound of her heels clicking told Jed that she was getting closer to the cooler to take a drink of her choosing and to grab one for Josie, too. "Oui! Oui, that's it." Jed snapped his fingers as the full sentence finally clicked in his head. "Oui is French. Mi casa es su casa is literally Spanish, dude." MG spoke up again which led Jed to look at the door, wondering how many friendship points he'd lose if he kicked MG out right then and there.

“You love it,” Ben teased, a chuckle leaving his lips as Jed pretended to be disappointed that he’d said he was going to get used to it. Ben was only joking of course, out of the two of them he was the one more likely to stress about things than Jed was but Ben knew that that was because their lives had been so different. He had known about the supernatural and been alive for much longer than Jed had but for such a long time he hadn’t had friends or someone in his life that he loved so he often worried that he was going to do or say the wrong thing. Thankfully Jed was understanding of that, though, and Ben really did love him for it. In all honesty it was actually quite cute that Jed was so worried about throwing a party for their friends because it just showed how much he cared. This was the first time that their friends would have seen their house and Ben really hoped that they liked it. They hadn’t been living there very long but they were working on making the house their home and Ben knew that they were both happy there so naturally they wanted to share it with some of the people who mattered most to them and Ben was sure that it wouldn’t be the last time they had them all over either. It would have been so easy for Ben to lose himself in the kiss and forget that their friends were even on the other side of the door. The temptation was definitely there but Ben knew that it really wouldn’t make a good impression so he reluctantly pulled back at the same time that Jed did, albeit with the assurance that there would be more of that later. When they were alone they would be free to do whatever they wanted to and Ben was looking forward to it. Playing along with Jed when he said that most of what they’d had to unpack was his was easy enough for Ben to do. It was far from the truth but he was more than happy to go along with it. MG was soon to turn the tables, though, and his expression softened at the way Jed’s cheeks flushed a little. “It’s okay, there are much worse phases to go through,” Ben assured him. “Besides, I’m glad I don’t have to compete with them,” he added, hoping to make Jed feel a little better. He had been happy to tease Jed a little since they always did that to each other but he didn’t want him getting embarrassed. The tour didn’t take too long but it was enough for Ben. He really was working on coming out of his shell a bit more but he knew that it was going to take time. He had gone from not having anyone in his life to having more people than he’d ever had before and that was something that took a little getting used to. He liked to think that he was getting there, though, and he didn’t hear any complaints from their friends which really did mean a lot to him. “Thanks guys,” he grinned as their friends all agreed. He could see that Josie, Raf and Adelina all agreed with them as well and he couldn’t deny that he was glad that they liked the place. “Jed’s right, you’re all welcome at any time including you MG,” Ben corrected, shaking his head in amusement at the exchange between the two of them. Jed and MG always seemed to love winding each other up and that was something that Ben was pretty sure was never going to change. Jed’s hand was still in Ben’s as they made their way into the living room and over to the cooler but Ben knew better than to offer to let go. Jed had made it clear on more than a few occasions that he would rather do things one handed than let go of his hand and the truth was that it was the same for Ben. Letting each of their friends step forward to take the drinks that they wanted, Ben reached into the cooler and pulled out a beer for Jed and one for himself, lifting his gaze to look at Jed just as MG spoke up. “Careful or I think Jed might just end up retracting that invitation MG,” Ben warned playfully, knowing that look in his boyfriend’s eyes all too well. “Cut him some slack MG, he’s trying,” Josie said, an amused smile touching her lips as she opened the drink Hope had picked out for her and took a sip. – I freed myself from words never said –
Jed rolled his eyes with a fond smile soon following. "You're lucky you're cute." Jed said with a chuckle falling from his lips not long after. Honestly, as much as he wanted to lose himself in Ben's kiss and just allow himself to enjoy Ben's presence in general, he knew that their friends were on the other side of the door and they could hear what was happening on the other side, so it was safer for him to open the door and let himself get lost in the reassurance that they will carry on from where they have left off once they're alone. That was more than enough for him to get to the door and answer it so they could let their friends in. Soon enough, they all began pouring into the house one after the other and just like that, their house was busy.
Jed laughed at Ben's words before he nudged him away with his elbow. "If the choice stands between you or them, we both know which one I'm gonna choose." His admittance harbored many 'aww's from the audience he'd nearly forgotten about. "Okay, okay, cut it off." Jed said with a grin resting on his lips as the tour started shortly after.
All jokes aside, MG was definitely included in the picture and definitely included in the invitation too and he knew that MG was aware that he was just joking around if his feigned reaction was anything to go by. Jed thanked Ben for the drink. "Thank you, Ben. Such a good friend." MG said with a grin resting on his lips, looking all too happy to be included in the picture after Jed had just excluded him from it.
"Okay, okay. Just so y'all know, he gave me such a hard time with his 'burn' jokes. He traumatized me for so long. I just thought it was time for a lil payback." MG took a sip from his drink, enjoying the taste of it as he bobbed his head along with the faint music playing in the background. Jed feigned an innocent expression as he pointed at himself as if asking MG if he was talking to him.
Oh, speaking of the faint music.
Jed reached for the stereo remote to turn up the music which definitely amped up the mood and definitely made it feel like a party. "Now we're talking." Jed took a sip from his drink, bobbing his head along with the music. It wasn't too loud to the point where it'd be deafening so they could talk and hear each other without having to shout over the music or lean closer to one another. He could see that some of his friends were already mingling with one another. "Give me a sec?" Jed asked Ben, turning his attention to him with a gentle smile as he carefully let go of Ben's hand (regretfully) and slowly began making his way over to Rafael. "I hope I'm not souring the mood or anything, but how are you doing, Raf?" Jed's attention drifted over to his friend.

“I knew that was the only reason you’re with me,” Ben teased, not meaning a word of it. He knew that there were a lot of reasons why Jed was with him and he wouldn’t want it any other way. They had been through so much together in such a short space of time and Ben knew that there was going to be much more to come but one thing he knew for sure was that no matter what happened they would face it together. Ben had learned to enjoy the simple moments and ones like these where he was kissing Jed definitely fell into that category. It would have been so easy to just forget that their friends were waiting at the door but they both knew they couldn’t do that to them so he let Jed move to the door to open it and soon enough their house was full of people and Ben couldn’t deny that it was a nice feeling. As Jed said they both knew who he was going to choose if it was between him and the cast of Twilight, Ben felt a teasing smile form on his face especially when their friends reacted the way they did. “I know, you’d choose Taylor Lautner every time,” he said, a mock sigh leaving his lips before he nudged Jed back playfully. “Seriously though, you know I’d choose you every time as well,” he grinned, not caring that they were in front of their friends as he gave Jed’s hand a gentle squeeze and pressed a kiss to his lips. It was good to have them all at the house and Ben knew that Jed was only joking when he said that MG wasn’t welcome. The two of them always seemed to wind each other up and that was something that he always found quite amusing but he knew that he wanted to make sure that MG knew that he was welcome as well and he found himself smiling at the guy as he said that he was a good friend. As MG said that Jed had traumatised him with the burn jokes, Ben shook his head in amusement. “You two are such idiots,” Josie laughed before turning to look at Ben. “I have to love Jed because he’s my brother but you do realise now you’re living together you’re stuck with him, right?” she teased. “I do and I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Ben assured her, knowing that there wasn’t anywhere else that he would rather be. Taking a sip of his drink, Ben felt a smile touch his lips as Jed turned up the music. He could see that their friends were enjoying it and it wasn’t loud enough that they had to shout to be heard which was definitely a good thing. As Jed asked him to give him a sec, Ben lifted their joined hands and pressed a kiss against Jed’s knuckles. “Of course,” he nodded, offering him a smile before watching him head over in Raf’s direction and Raf looked up from where he’d been talking to Josie before she moved away to talk to some of their other friends and give the two of them some space. “You’re not, don’t worry,” Raf assured him. “I’m doing better, it has been tough going but I finally feel like I’m getting somewhere thanks to all of you,” he admitted. “How are you doing? Congrats on the new place, by the way.” That left Ben on his own as well and he headed over to Gabriela and Adelina. Their other friends were mingling but the truth was that he hadn’t had the chance to talk to the two of them properly since they’d revealed to them all about their curse. “Hey. How are you both doing?” he asked gently, hoping that they knew they could be honest with him considering they were in a similar position. If there was anyone who knew what it was like to live a cursed life, it was him. JED SALTZMAN

– I freed myself from words never said –
Jed laughed at Ben's words when he joked that he'd known that was the only reason he was with Ben. He shook his head with the same fondness still visible on his expression. From there, it was one distraction after the other as he nearly lost himself in the sensation of Ben's lips against his own but soon enough, he was pulling away and not long after, their home was filled with people they loved. Jed gasped at Ben's words, feigning offense as he placed his hand on his heart. 'What do you take me for?" Jed continued the act. "I'll switch between him and Edward, of course." Jed concluded the act with a teasing grin forming on his lips not long after. Soon enough, the assurance came that they'd pick each other every time and it was enough to make Jed's heart flutter. But he had a feeling if they continued to act all lovey-dovey they'll wind up tearing countless 'aww's from their friends until their throats were raw, so he chose to lay off on that for the time being, at least.
Just like that, the act of him being offended came right back as he processed Josie's words. 'Heeey, what's that supposed to mean?" Jed asked after letting out a dramatic gasp. Honestly, where was his Oscar already? He was so good at acting. Jed's next words were enough to turn his dramatic expression into something tender. "See? I'm practically a joy to live with." Jed said a moment later, his teasing tone coming back.
Jed smiled softly at the kiss left behind on his knuckles. It was enough to make his heart flutter once again. The same smile remained on his lips for a bit as he began making his way over to Rafael and Josie. "Can I borrow him for a moment?" Jed asked and with Josie practically giving him her blessing to talk to Rafael, he turned his attention to the other once more. "That's really good to hear, man. If you ever need anything, I'm here, okay?" Jed was really happy to hear that Rafael was getting there. When the question turned back to him followed by a compliment, his smile made itself known once again. "Thank you. I'm doing good, happy to finally not have to worry about unboxing stuff or putting furniture together, if I'm being honest." Jed said with a chuckle falling from his lips not long after.
On the other hand, Gabriela was with her twin, enjoying the music and the mingling that was going on. It felt nice, being surrounded by friends like this. They weren't just friends to Gabriela either. They were like family, too. A family that had been looking for an answer to their curse along with Ben's with such diligence. She couldn't thank them enough. Gabriela's attention drifted to Ben when he came to them, her smile immediately appearing on her lips. His question made Gabriela pause for a moment, her smile was still visible on her lips though. "Oh, uh, I'm doing okay. All things considered. I can't deny that I'm a little scared, but... I just mostly hate how worried my dads are." Gabriela answered for herself, her attention turning to Adelina a moment later to see what she had to say.

It was easy to joke around with Jed, there was often so much going on in their lives that was serious and it was good to be able to relax and have some fun for a change. That was what the night was all about, they had invited their friends over so they could spend some time together and celebrate for once. The last time they’d tried Ben’s father had ended up attacking them but this time was going to be different, he was certain about that. This time they were all together and even though there were still things going on this was one night where they could try and put that aside. Jed’s words were enough to have Ben laughing. “Of course, I should have known,” he chuckled. “I can’t say I blame you,” he added with a grin, knowing that Jed was just messing around. Ben knew that they would pick each other anytime, there wasn’t a doubt in his mind about that and he had a feeling that their friends knew it as well. He and Jed were so in love and that was something that Ben had never expected but he knew that he wouldn’t have it any other way. As Jed asked what her comment was supposed to mean, Josie couldn’t help but laugh. “You know exactly what I mean,” she teased. Ben couldn’t help but watch the exchange between the two of them in amusement and he was quick to answer honestly. “You are for me but it’s different for us,” he grinned. It was just the two of them living at their place so they had plenty of room whereas there had been a few of them living at the Saltzman house so Ben knew that it must have been easy for them to feel like they were living on top of each other a bit at times. They’d managed to put their own stamp on the house already and Ben couldn’t deny that it felt like home so he knew that that was as it should be. Ben knew that they needed to be on their best behaviour in front of their friends but he couldn’t resist pressing a kiss to Jed’s knuckles before he headed off to speak to Raf. Ben knew that Jed had been worried about him so now was the perfect chance to check in. “I appreciate that, thanks,” Raf nodded as Jed said he was there if he needed anything. “I’ll be alright, control it getting easier and the other students aren’t looking at me like I’m about to lose it any minute these days so I’d say that’s a win,” he added. There were still a few comments here and there about how he was a danger to them but Raf had taken what his friends had said on board that day and he didn’t let it bother him anymore. They had made it clear that they didn’t want him to go and that he was still one of them and he knew better than to throw that back in their faces. “I bet, that must have been a nightmare,” he chuckled. “You really did have a lot of stuff, huh?” he added with a grin, remembering the exchange between Jed and MG earlier. “Seriously though, I’m happy for both of you. You know you and Ben and Hope and Josie are giving the rest of us relationship goals, right?” he asked as he nudged Jed’s arm playfully with his own. With Jed talking to Raf it left Ben free to check on the girls and Ben nodded as Gabriela said that she was doing okay but she was a little scared. “It’s okay to be scared. I know our curses aren’t the same but if either of you ever need someone to talk to, I’m here for you,” he said gently, wanting to know that they could reach out to him at any time. It was one thing to see these curses from the outside but it was a completely different thing to have to live with them and he wanted to make sure they knew that they weren’t alone. “They’re only worried because they love you but believe me when I say that this is the best group of people to break a curse that you could ever hope for. They’re the best I’ve come across,” he added with a smile. They had done more for him than anyone else he’d ever reached out to for help and he was certain that they would be able to help the girls as well. “Thanks Ben,” Adelina said sincerely as he reassured them. “I’m scared too, I just hope we’re able to find a way to break this curse. There’s so much we both want to do and I don’t even want to think about what it would do to our family if anything happened to us,” she admitted. It was horrible feeling like there was a clock counting down the moment until they triggered their curses but she knew she had to hope that they would find a way to break them before that. – I freed myself from words never said –
Jed's lips stretched into a grin at Ben's words before a chuckle soon followed. All jokes aside, they really had nothing in comparison with his boyfriend. Oh, man, there shouldn't even be a comparison, that's how far ahead Ben was. But, he felt like if he had admitted that out loud, their friends would collectively turn around and leave, having had enough of the sweetness and love in the air.
Jed jokingly narrowed his eyes at his sister. "I do not." He feigned innocence before his attention drifted back to Ben. "I mean, you have a point there, but, are you perhaps suggesting that I wasn't a joy to live with? I'll have you now, I was definitely a joy to be around and live with under the same roof." Jed paused, his expression changing into one that showcased he was thinking his own sentence through. "Sometimes." Jed added a moment later with a clear of his throat. "But that's beside the point." He waved his hand off, his innocent act coming right back up again.
It was difficult to stay on his best behavior for the sake of their friends because all he wanted was to repay Ben with a kiss of his own. But he had to remind himself of the fact that he had a tendency to get carried away sometimes. So, he moved away and instead sent Ben a gentle smile before he headed over to where Rafael was. They made a quick conversation from there with Jed feeling curious as to how Rafael was doing. "You're welcome, man." Jed replied with a gentle smile resting on his lips when Rafael thanked him for the offer. "Oh, that's a pretty big win if I say so myself." Jed said with a nod, feeling glad to hear that things were getting easier for Rafael.
"Okay, I definitely have to come clean to someone 'bout this and I trust you, man. I had a lot of stuff, Raf. The boxes we had to tiptoe around? They were all mine." Jed admitted in a hushed voice. "Keep that between us, though." He added a moment later with a grin soon forming on his lips.
"Thank you, Raf. Really." Jed let out a soft chuckle when Rafael told him that they were giving the rest of them relationship goals alongside Josie and Hope. "Hey, if there's one thing I learned about relationships, it's that they take time and in my experience, the longer you wait, the greater the outcome will be. So, if it takes time, just be patient and things will play out in your favor. Promise." Ah, look at him, giving relationship advice. Wow.
Gabriela didn't want to turn the mood sour, but she also knew that she could talk to Ben about the whole curse thing because she knew he'd understand them better than anyone else. Gabriela nodded when Ben told her that it was okay to be scared. Honestly, they had every right to feel that way. "Same with you, Ben. You can always talk to us about anything. We'll listen." Gabriela's voice was soft as she spoke, her eyes focused on Ben.
Gabriela nodded with a soft smile resting on her lips. "I know. I'm truly grateful for everything that they're doing for our sakes." Gabriela wondered if this was the first time they've taken a break since they had learned of the twins' curse, too. Gabriela was quiet as she listened to her sister, her expression turning sympathetic when she heard that Adelina was scared, too. "Oh, God.." Gabriela trailed off with a shake of her head, just imagining the looks on her family's faces... It made her feel sick to her stomach. "Yeah... I don't want them to ever experience what losing us feels like." Gabriela gulped past the lump in her throat. She wanted the curse gone more than anything in the world. Happiness was supposed to be a good emotion, something that she should look forward to feeling, but ever since she'd learned of the curse, she'd felt terrified of feeling happy. It was nearly driving her insane. "But, it's important in times like these to have a positive outlook in life or else we'll just get lost in all the negatives. We've got our best team working on this. We'll be okay. All three of us."
