So here I am introducing Evelyn's oh-so lovely parents, starting with Mommy dearest. To begin, Genevieve "Genni" has one other child from her first marriage, although she or her husband never found out about him. She kept him hidden from her new rich life, he lives with his father who had full custody of him. Once Evelyn's Mother met William, at this time brother here was 10 years old, she decided to up and leave, wanting to get away from the 'normal' and 'poor' lifestyle she was living with her first husband. Jumping at the first chance at wealth, she signed divorce papers and custody papers all in the same day and left. Yes, she is incredibly shallow and a terrible person.
To make matters worse, Genni's infidelity is what tuly caused Evelyn's father to snap completely, going further into the darkness. This affair broke up the once nice and welcoming home that Evelyn's knew and loved once and for all.

"The first tragedy would come early, when the truth of her mother’s infidelity made its way to her own father, William, splitting the house in two. Evelyn was none the wiser. But a girl she was too wrapped up in the importance of etiquette classes, being taught the manners that made a ‘girl’ a ‘lady’. Much like any of the girls in her social status. Spending much of her time in school she failed to notice the shift between her parents until it was too late. Truth be told, even if she hadn’t been so busy with schooling Evelyn would probably have always been ignorant of the truth. Her mother was not a woman an overly affectionate woman when it came to her child. Genevieve had always been too wrapped up in her own wanton desires. It was left to the discretion of Evelyn nanny to impart most womanly wisdoms. While Genevieve certainly loved her only daughter, she was far more concerned with her own selfish needs than her daughter. This would make certain that when Genevieve ran off with another man Evelyn would stay on with her father – clearly showcasing how much of a daddy’s girl she truly was.
Suddenly bereft of her own mother's guidance, Evelyn wondered where life would take them from there. She looked into her father's eyes, and worried that all he would see is the reflection of his wife’s betrayal. She did have her mother's eyes, after all. And he did, distancing himself from his daughter and suddenly the little girl who had had the world at her fingertips didn’t even have a family. Not only that, they were somewhat distanced from their beloved coven and Evelyn was suddenly treated differently in town. Divorce was almost unheard of in her small town, a dirty secret that few took part in, so when her father defied this forbidden act the town Evelyn had grown up in was not as kindly.
All the while William acted as if Genevieve had never existed. Her betrayal had cast a special kind of shame on the Martineau family and so Evelyn could only watch as her father buried her mother's memory in darkness. It was as if nothing had ever happened. Genevieve was the ‘she-who-musn’t-be-named’. A subject only ever broached by Evelyn herself, only to have immediately shut down. She had always been a curious, stubborn girl, but the fierce hurt and shame in her father's eyes at the mention of her mother's name was enough to make her forget about the subject."
So yes; Mommy dearest is a self-absorbed person for sure, but despite this she does love her daughter. After she left when the divorce was final, it was assumed she ran off with another man, but unknowingly to Evelyn, the truth was much more sinister, with William killing his ex-wife out of rage and betrayal. I am leaving her species open for you to choose and how she is alive after being 'killed' by William.
I am also leaving her personality and history open as well, although her personality should be along the lines of shallow, self-absorbed, selfish, etc. With her history, I would like it to remain pretty closely to what I wrote in Evelyn's history and with her first family although anything prior to her first marriage and during it as well as after she 'left' the Martineau family is also up to you! Oh and one other thing: she hates William for what he did to her.
