SAVANNAH SALINGER

Savannah, Evelyn's dear friend she met back in New York at college. Savannah was a witch that Evelyn met when she first moved to New York, Savannah actually seeking her out one day in a shop that was known to sell witchcraft materials. Savannah comes from a long line of witches, so she is well tuned in to her magical abilities. She has a very upfront personality, always telling people how it is no matter how horribly they may take it. People would describe Savannah as incredibly blunt, which Evelyn appreciated as she always told her how it was, never sugar coat anything. While she is blunt she is also arrogant, which is what seemingly led to her death at the hands of Evelyn's father, William. Here's an excerpt in Evelyn's history where she's mentioned:

"However, she wouldn’t get the chance as not even Evelyn could have predicted what would come next. After over years of nowhere to be seen, Evelyn’s father resurfaced… and darker than ever. An ignorant Evelyn had no idea of the darkness that surrounded her father’s heart, but that recognition of it would land right on her doorstep following William killing one of her closest friends, Savannah. A sadistic act, one she never knew her father was capable of. She couldn’t believe the spilling of the bloody truth of her father's actions. It was almost unbelievable. Her father…a killer? It simply could not be! Alas, it was and Evelyn was forced to recognize the cold hard truth. The man who wore her father's skin was not her father at all. No, he was a monster. The kind of monster who would kill his daughter’s closest friend in cold blood. All of that was a means to send a message – that she was to join him in his sinister crusade or else.

It was from then that Evelyn suddenly found herself at a painful, terrifying loss - her dear friend Savannah. She had to leave everything she held close and dear to her heart in New York in order to survive. Something inside of her father had snapped, he wanted her to turn dark just as he had, to use dark magic inclusively and Evelyn wanted absolutely nothing to do with it, and so she would have to go into hiding. Keep a low profile and remain hidden from him as even though she was a truly kind heart, the girl had always struggled with the darkness in her mind, as well in her soul. The call to dark magic had never been so alluring as it had in those dark, lonely days. Truth be told, if Savannah had not come into her life, Evelyn could have been an entirely different person. One much like her father had become."

So from that you can tell she died rather brutally. With Savannah's arrogance ultimately getting her killed. Due to how close Evelyn and Savannah became, Savannah became protective of the young witch, as such she knew what William did to his own daughter and wanting to stand up for her dear friend, she confronted William - which would prove to be the last thing she ever did.

Now dead, Savannah finds herself in ghost form, roaming the earth aimlessly as she tries to get a hold of anyone who could bring her back to life. Hearing the whispers from others, she learned that there was a possibility of being brought back to life. Learning of this, Savannah is hell bent on finding her friend, hoping that she could be brought back to life.
