━ she has the moon in her mind ; that’s why stars spill off her lips. ━ Gabriela grabbed one of the pumpkins and placed it on the table carefully. Halloween was approaching them fast and she definitely needed to enjoy it in a special way with her family and what a better way to do that than to carve pumpkins, right? She grabbed everything they needed and placed it neatly on the table just because she didn't like seeing something that wasn't in its rightful place and then sat down. "C'mon, guys! Everything's ready!" Ela called out as she settled comfortable on her seat, waiting, albeit impatiently, for her dad and twin sister to join her so they could get started.
Gabriela had also gone out and bought a couple of things that fit the Halloween theme so they could decorate the outside of their house. She definitely wanted everyone else to enjoy this. Gabriela reached for one of the sweets that were left in a bowl on the table and unwrapped it so she could take a beat, enjoying the sweetness of it as she chewed on it while waiting. She didn't really think of a costume yet, honestly. But she could probably put something together quickly once the inspiration hits her. Sure, she was old now and can't exactly go trick or treating with the other kids but she definitely had a good run of it when she was younger. She could remember how much she enjoyed it with her sister. It was a memory that placed a soft smile on her lips. Good days. But it's not like she's living in bad times now. Oh, not at all. She was still just as happy, honestly. She doubted that was ever going to change soon because she was never gonna allow it to change.

━ save your advice, 'cause i won't hear it ━ ADELINA wasn't one for activities. She didn't like the whole participating thing, or crafting something that didn't have her painting in her room with music from the early 2000s blasting through the speaker on her nightstand. Halloween was specifically a time where she liked to be more out of the house than in it, with friends or on her own, doing the usual. Toilet papering a house, freaking strangers out with fake blood in broad daylight, and eating way too much candy while laying on a park bench. This Halloween time was different, because Gabriela had asked it to be, and most of the time, she caved to her sister's requests. They were going to carve pumpkins, spend some time together as a family. It didn't sound too bad, not as annoying as it was when she had to help decorate the Christmas tree. At least for this, she'd be able to use something sharp, and probably try her hand at making the best pumpkin screaming sound.
'C'mon, guys! Everything's ready!'
At the sound of her sister's voice, she rolled off the couch, calling back a, "I'm comin', I'm comin'!" She fixed her orange v-neck t-shirt, that she had been pulling out of her closet for two years now, that said 'COSTUME' in black letters over the chest. That was as close as she had gotten to dressing up since her trick or treating days, and frankly, in her often overly confident mind, thought she looked pretty damn adorable. And with a lollipop in hand, she wandered into the kitchen, plopping down into the chair beside Gabriela, eyeing the whole setup carefully. Gabriela had always been the neat twin, the one who could put family time together like this without a problem at all. Deep down, Adelina was sure she was jealous of that. That ability to stay focused and get things done. She couldn't remember the last time she actually finished something, or been this darn neat. And just to be a pain, she reached over, pushing the handle of a smaller carver slightly to the side so it was just not completely lying straight against the table like the rest of the tools.
"Gabs," she started, as they waited on their father to join them, glancing over at her sister, "give me an idea of what to carve into this bad boy." Adelina motioned to the pumpkin in front of her, knowing full well that she would do either what Gabriela suggested, or end up carving a pumpkin into a pumpkin.

Halloween was coming up and that year they had all agreed that they were going to carve some pumpkins and use them to decorate the house. Antonio wasn’t entirely sure that Eli was too keen on the idea but she often did whatever would make Ela happy and underneath it all he knew that she liked spending time with the two of them so she had agreed to it as well. Ever since they were young Antonio had always made sure that the spent at least some time doing things as a family and that was something that Ela had started running with as well. The girls were growing up far too fast for his liking and Antonio was all too aware of the fact that they didn’t need him as much as they once had. They were both independent and he was so proud of the young women that they had become but if he was honest he dreaded the day when they wouldn’t need him any longer so he wanted to make the most of the moments like these while they lasted. His own relationship with his parents hadn’t been that great for a long time and he hardly ever spoke to them now so he knew that he didn’t want things to end up like that between him and the girls. They’d only had each other for a long time and they had Ethan in their lives now as well but it was still important to Antonio that they kept that bond intact. “I’ll be there in a minute,” Antonio called back as Ela’s voice sounded telling them that everything was ready. He’d had a few things to sort out that day but now he was looking forward to being able to spend some time with the girls so he didn’t hesitate in tidying away what he was doing and heading downstairs. Both of the girls were already there waiting and Antonio couldn’t help but chuckle as he caught sight of Eli’s t-shirt. “Cute,” he grinned as he grabbed a couple of sweets from the bowl and unwrapped one before popping it into his mouth. “Have you both decided what you’re going to carve?” he asked, hoping that they had some ideas at least considering he wasn’t too sure what to do with his own just yet.
