Ric knew that it was a lot to ask Jenna to be ok with the fact that he had two children he hadn’t known anything about a year ago but she had been a huge support to him and he knew that he was never going to be able to thank her enough for that. How the kids were going to react when they met her he wasn’t sure but he knew that he wanted them to meet the woman he loved so he knew that it would happen sooner or later. Right now the last thing he wanted was to push Jenna or the kids into something that they weren’t ready for so he was more than happy to wait until she was ready. He hoped that the kids would be fine with it, after all he and Jenna had gotten together before he’d even found out about them and what he’d had with Helen had come to an end the day that she’d returned home so it was natural for him to have moved on and he had done a long time ago. As Jenna said that what mattered was what happened now with the kids, Ric felt a smile work its way across his face. “Exactly,” he agreed. He knew that he was never going to be able to get those lost years back but he could at least be there for everything that happened in their lives from now on. It was taking time for them to let him in but they were all working on it and he knew that he really couldn’t ask for anymore than that. “I hope they’ll all get along,” he admitted, unable to deny that he was a little worried about that. It was so important to him that they all liked each other because as far as he was concerned they were already all family even if the kids hadn’t met Jenna, Elena and Jeremy yet so he knew that he just had to believe that it would all work out in the end. “I know you, you wouldn’t be worried like this if it was,” he said gently, lifting her chin and stealing a kiss before pulling the lasagne out of the oven. “I’m glad you approve,” he chuckled as he lifted his own fork and took a bite. Jenna found herself nodding because she also hoped for the same thing. "I hope so too. I feel like we're worrying about it too much but I do know that they're good kids and they'll get along just fine and if they don't, then we'll be there to help. There's no reason to stress out... I think." Jenna wanted to look at the bright side. She wanted to look at the half full part of the glass and not the empty one. She wanted a touch of her being optimistic about it all because she knew that she deserved that at least. She also knew that stressing too much about something that hadn't even happened yet was silly. "Let's worry about that bridge when we get to it." Jenna said with a small nod of her head, choosing to drop the matter for now.
Jenna wasn't even sure what to think. The possibility of being pregnant hadn't crossed her mind but later when they do head out to the hospital, it will all make sense to her. Her sickness, her appetite that was shifting like the tides. It'll all make perfect sense. But right now, her confusion was ever-present, not leaving the woman as she seemed to think it all over, going over what she'd eaten the night before, but she was one hundred percent the food hadn't gone bad, so it can't be that. Jenna blinked out of her thoughts when Ric pressed his lips against hers in a kiss she returned almost right away and when he parted, there was a smile present on her lips. "Alaric Gordon Ramsey." Jenna teased with a grin resting on her lips shortly after. "You're spoiling me at this point." Jenna could feel her stomach letting out noises at the sight of the food alone and she was definitely hungry right now, aching for a bite but she knew that she had to wait, so she leaned back a little and waited patiently for the lasagna to finish.

“There is no reason to stress out. They’ll work it out and so will we,” Ric assured her. Just how they were going to do that he wasn’t entirely sure but he knew that he had to believe that they would figure it out. They had already learned how to navigate the supernatural world together and Jenna had accepted the fact that not only had he known about the supernatural world for a lot longer than he had but also that his ex-wife was Elena’s biological mother and if there was one thing he knew then it was that they could handle just about anything as long as they were together. He was still getting to know Kyle and Abby but he liked to think that he had made a lot of headway with them since he had found out about them and he knew that the two of them as well as Elena and Jeremy would figure things out in their own time. They had all been through a lot but they had come out of it the other side and after all that figuring out a new family dynamic should be easy in comparison. “Deal,” Ric nodded as Jenna said that they should cross that bridge when they came to it rather than worrying about it now. It was something they knew that they would have to face sooner or later but right now he was more focused on spending some time alone with his girlfriend. Ric wasn’t sure what was going on with Jenna at the moment but he knew that he was going to stand by her no matter what. He knew that she wasn’t the kind of person who worried over nothing so if something was bothering her then he was certain that there really was something going on and the sooner they got to the bottom of it, the better. “You got that right. James is just the middle name I tell people my parents gave me, the truth is they were obsessed,” he teased right back. When it was just him living on his own he hadn’t really had much of a reason to cook too much but when he was with Isobel he had always done so and he had started doing so again more often for Jenna and Abby now as well. He was still finding his feet with it all but there were certain dishes he liked to think that he was pretty good at making and thankfully this was one of them. “Just imagine what it will be like if we finally get a place together,” he chuckled. He would be lying if he said that it wasn’t something that he had thought about, he loved Jenna but they both had kids to look out for and he knew that it would be so much better if they were all under the same roof but it wasn’t something that would happen overnight if it was even something that Jenna wanted so he knew that he had to be patient.
