There, in a house located in Mystic Falls, Virginia, a beautiful baby girl was brought to the world while the flowers were in full bloom almost in a way to greet the birth of Jenna Sommers. She wasn't alone in the world, she had an older sister named Miranda who would often read her bedtime stories and keep her company and on other instances, she would invite Kelly Donovan over to babysit Jenna. Life was quiet for the young girl and when she entered Mystic Falls High School, her life truly began.
In high school, even Jenna was not safe from the "wrong clique" who seemed to consume any innocent soul and turn them into the partying kind. She had the time of her life in high school, like everyone else. She was young and she definitely made a lot of bad choices, such as sneaking alcohol and drinking it under the bleachers like she had done with Mason Lockwood. She'd definitely made some BAD decisions but once again, she was young and full of life and life was just open for her. It honestly wouldn't be high school without falling in love with someone and boy did she fall hard for a particular Logan Fell, a fellow student.
But honestly? Jenna never had any good luck with men and it showed in her sexual relationship with John Gilbert, the younger brother of Grayson Gilbert, her older sister's husband, but sadly, their relationship ended badly and she definitely ended up hating him with all her might. Then, she entered a relationship with none other than Logan Fell, but even that relationship wasn't safe. It also ended in flames when she found out that he was cheating on her with a girl named Monica and that was more than enough to get Jenna packing and running for the hill, tired of the endless bad relationships she seemed to be buried in.
Then she came back when she visited her older sister and her husband on that fateful night. While prepping the dinner table, they receive a call from none other than Elena asking for someone to come and get her. Jenna handed over the phone to Miranda that night and when they both left, it was the last time she'd see them because not long after, they were found in the river, drowned after driving off the Wickery Bridge. It wasn't long before Jenna got a phone call from a lawyer letting her know that she's expected to become the legal guardian of her sister's children.
It felt like a huge whiplash to Jenna who was far from used to that kind of life. It needed a lot of adapting and during the time she was trying to adapt, she was described as clumsy and it was honestly all just a huge mess but she was trying no matter how troublesome it was, getting used to it all and that's what mattered the most. Being an authority figure was so not her thing, but she was all the family her niece and nephew have, so bailing was way out of the picture. She also started realizing the shift in Jeremy's behavior and the fact that he's changing and having trouble, so she tried to change her parenting tactics after meeting with his teacher and revealed to him she used to do the same thing but told him that she had responsibilities and needed to change her way of living.
When the Founder's Ball rolled around and she met Logan Fell, her ex-boyfriend, she didn't pay much attention to him due to how much she despised him. But it wasn't long before she gave in under Elena's persistence to go out on a date with him, but it soon became apparent to her that he had not changed a single bit and without a second thought, she kicked him out, not wanting to be even close to him anymore. Though life started looking up for Jenna when she met Alaric Saltzman for the first time and the second her eyes laid upon the handsome man, she took an instant liking to him and found herself wanting to see him more. Though it wasn't long before Logan tried to compel his way back into her life. Literally. He had tried to use compulsion on Jenna now that he was a vampire but it didn't work as Jenna had consumed Vervain before that and once more, he was kicked out of her life.
Jenna meet Alaric once again in the 50's dance where they danced together and had a good time before it was time to go home and on the walk back home, Alaric opened his heart to Jenna and told her the name of his deceased wife. Isobel. The same name of Elena's birth mother. It wasn't long before Alaric asked her on a date and it was something she simply couldn't refuse. Not with how much she liked him already. Though her happiness did not last long because not long after, Elena confronted her about not telling her she was adopted but was it really her place to reveal such a thing?
It wasn't long before Jenna and Alaric started dating and shared their first kiss. Jenna felt like her spell with bad love had finally been lifted off of her because she truly felt that Alaric was a good person and hoped that it would last because she truly liked him. She started helping Elena on the side, offering information to her whenever she needs them. Life decided to throw in another rock when John Gilbert came back to Mystic Falls and it became apparent just how much Jenna did not like his presence. At the Founder's Day Gala, she danced with Alaric and seemed to be having a good time until her eyes laid upon Elena with Damon Salvatore rather than Stefan. Though it wasn't long before she spots them kissing, though she didn't stick for long and excused herself, letting Elena know that she was going to the Fire Dept.
Although it wasn't long before everything turned upside down for Jenna when she was taken by the Dread Doctors and was experimented on with full intentions of turning her into a witch but they failed in doing so when it became apparent that she became a siphoner instead. Though nonetheless, she could still use magic. Her life's now upside down and everything that she once believed in didn't seem to hold any value anymore. She didn't really feel any change until her hand started glowing whenever she would touch a table or anything she could siphon magic out of. Scared to her very core, she found herself running to Alaric for help. To understand anything she could about her life and the new changes that had just happened to her. Who knows what the future holds for Jenna after that.
