When it comes to his personal life, however, he often cuts himself off from others and given everything that he has been through, it tends to take him a while to trust people. He doesn't let people get close to him very often but when he does he is a loyal friend who will stick with them until the end. Enemies;; As a vampire hunter and through his activities with the rest of the group Alaric managed to make quite a few enemies, most of which would probably be quite happy to kill him if given the chance. Lovers;; Alaric has been in a relationship a couple of times over the years. First was Isobel who he spent years trying to avenge only to find that instead of being killed by a vampire, she had made the choice to leave him and had become one instead. Then there is Jenna. Things are complicated between the two of them, Ric feels guilty that he has to hide the truth about the supernatural from her whenever they are together and he wants nothing more than to come clean to her so that she can look out for herself but he respects Elena's wishes about wanting to keep her aunt in the dark. He isn't sure what will happen between them but he knows he is developing feelings for her and that scares him a little after what happened with Isobel but he knows that he wants to be open to it whatever is coming his way. I'm gonna throw Michael at Ric friend wise too. He never intended to settle in Mystic Falls but it seems like he's going to be around a while to investigate what happened to his wife and daughter, and to hide out from his ex-employer, who by now will be on the warpath looking for his missing thief. Michael's going to learn a little about wolves from Chris, in exchange for some info on vampires. I imagine he could pick Alaric's brain on some of that too, and maybe bond with him over bad things happening to the women they love and an interest in history. Michael's probably going to spend a fair amount of time at the Grill, drowning his sorrows and kinda avoiding the tension in his motel room. Perhaps the two of them could cross paths there.

Ric and Josh Michael should definitely become friends! It sounds like they have a lot in common and neither of them planned on sticking around in Mystic Falls for too long but Ric has found a reason to stay and it sounds like Michael has too. Ric doesn't know that werewolves exist yet so I don't think he'll be much help there but I am sure he will find out sooner or later and try to help him. I think a meeting could go one of two ways, either they could meet at the Grill and have a drink then find out the truth about the other later or we could have them be thrown into a situation where what they are becomes clear pretty quickly and they have a drink after. Which would you prefer? I'm happy either way.

At least Michael isn't dealing with Ric dating his sister. Michael definitely has a reason for the moment, although if the investigation leads anywhere he may jet for the short term to try and deal with his big bad. I'd say the truth followed by a drink would probably be my preference. Maybe something goes down while Michael's breaking into somewhere to try and get more information, Ric does his hunting thing, Michael wolfs out a little bit and ragged nerves then need to be soothed by some alcohol?

Michael definitely isn't the attacking or hurting sort and actively avoids that when it's a full moon. He was a pacifist until Orlov hired him. Now he's more likely to try and pull the 'CIA agent' ruse to try and get out of trouble. Sure, I can get this started.

I think it would definitely be fun to have these two run into each other. Ric is really good at what he does so I think there are perhaps two ways it could go, either he could see her feeding on someone and if she was about to kill then he wouldn't hold back in attacking her or if they got talking somewhere he could realise what she was and perhaps try and warn her off sticking around Mystic Falls or killing while she was there given what the town is like. What do you think?
