 31. Werewolf . Rookie firefighter til now. Growing up a Lockwood in a town where the Founding Families were venerated was a nightmare. The fact that his older brother, Richard, was the family's golden boy only made it worse. As the family's black sheep Mason saw no shame in befriending a girl from the wrong side of the tracks. Until he lit out of town at 18, determined to be anywhere but Mystic Falls, Maya was Mason's safe harbour in the town. After college, going to one where his parents couldn't call all the shots, Mason ended up in Miami. He spent days on the beach, nights in bars, completely unaware of what lurked in the Lockwood family closet until his new girlfriend 'Kathy' compelled his best friend into coming at him in a fight. Unable to stop Jimmy, Mason pushed him back and killed him as his friend smacked his head on the ground. The Lockwood curse was triggered and the next full moon Mason turned for the first time. Katherine soon explained her agenda - she was on the run from the Original family and by turning him she had the perfect victim for Klaus' ritual. The problem was when the time came Mason refused to go back to Mystic Falls. When Klaus performed his ritual someone else died in his place. Months later, when it became clear Tyler was struggling with the death of his father, Mason was called home. He'd avoided Richard's funeral but he couldn't leave his nephew and his cousin's daughter on their own. Mason moved into an apartment with Jeze, becoming her guardian, and tried to track Tyler down to get through to him. In more than a year of failing he started to pick up a stable life in the town - training to become a fire fighter, reconnecting with Maya, he's trying to be the best example he can to stop the next general of Lockwoods from ending up where he had.
friends. Away from Mystic Falls Mason grew close enough to some to call them friends, although in doing this he opened himself up to losing one of them in Katherine's scheme to trigger the curse he'd been born with. These days Mason doesn't want to risk many people in growing close to them. Undoubtedly there are enough who remember him in Mystic Falls to attempt some sort of reunion but he'll be wary to start with.
enemies. Up until he was suckered in by Katherine Mason would've said that his brother was the closest thing he had to an enemy. That's no longer the truth. What he is now is likely to turn people against him and with Niklaus' Mikaelson now a hybrid, Mason knows that there's likely to be more trouble ahead.
family. Family has rapidly shrunk for Mason. He was already somewhat estranged from his brother when Richard was killed. Since he's returned to town Mason has become guardian to his cousin's daughter - Jeze - and has done his best to try and build bridges with both his sister-in-law, Carol, and his nephew Tyler.
lovers. The last lover Mason had arranged for him to kill a friend in order to become a werewolf. Needless to say he's not rushing out to find another one just yet.

I'm trying to hit up some plotters that haven't been posted in at all yet or haven't been posted in lately and I stumbled across your one for Mason. I don't think these two actually met in the show but perhaps we could change that now? They are similar in age and both know what is really going on in Mystic Falls so Ric could always use another drinking buddy if you are up for it. He also knows what it is like to want to kill Damon so they have that in common too

I'm also going to throw Claire at you. Mason didn't really take too kindly to vampires in the show but I figured perhaps Claire could change his mind about that? Maybe she could get him out of some trouble either now or she could have already done so in the past and then they could go from there?

Mason could certainly do with some more friends, especially ones he thinks might help when it comes to keeping Katherine and Niklaus off of his back. Since Mason didn't slink into town until after the ritual he hasn't really run into Damon yet but yeah, things would probably be antagonistic. The two of them could meet over a drink at the Grill, although Mason might've already nosed around a bit about Alaric already. MASON LOCKWOOD & CLAIRE DEVEREUX
Oh, I like this idea. Mason's been trying to keep his nose clean since he got back into town, so he could be a good influence on Tyler. He could always have a little slip though and mess up either wolf wise or in just a plain old black sheep screwing up in town kinda way.

Absolutely! Mason could do with a few friends right now. He could always turn up at the Gilbert house looking to talk to Elena about Tyler, since he's still worried about Klaus and Katherine getting him to trigger his curse. He's a little tense at the moment so he could probably do with blowing off steam with an old friend and if Jenna now knows about the supernatural we could always have them drunk enough to get to the point of that awkward conversation.

Mason needs threads, here I am xP So I looked at their ages and with the age gap (8 years) my first thought was maybe they knew each other when they were younger? Both grew up in the town if I'm correct, maybe Casey was like 13 and had a crush on Mason at the time xD He could've known, because a 13 year old having crushes on older people generally aren't the best at hiding it xP They could have come to know each other because their dads were acquaintances? With Casey's dad having been a hunter and the Lockwoods being part of the Founder's Council, Mason's dad could've turned to Casey's dad when there was a supernatural problem? That would've lead to Casey being over at the Lockwood house a from time to time and that's how she and Mason met? For a thread we can have them randomly run into each other again now that she's all grown up. Let me know if you like this idea, if not we can work on something else  |

That totally works for me! You know I love your Casey. I can imagine Mason was the type to try and let her down real easy, he was a decent guy for the most part. Maybe at some point Mason was tasked with watching out for Casey while the parents were up to the super secret supernatural stuff. He wouldn't have really appreciated the babysitting part but he'd have been too respectful of his dad to say no and maybe Casey grew on him. A random run in sounds absolutely fine to me.

Casey would now be totally embarrassed of the little crush she had on him back then, especially if he brought it back up to poke fun at her xP When she was that age she was probably already hunting with her dad, but I could see him leaving her outta the supernatural "business talk" and Mason having to watch her a little bit then Do you wanna start this to set up how I will have Casey see Mason and approach him? Ooor if you wanted we could spice it up a bit instead of a random run in? It could be a full moon and so Mason goes down to the ruins of the old Lockwood estate (where Tyler had his first transformation) to lock himself up? Casey could be out on a hunt and hearing someone groaning and stuff in pain, she finds the entrance, goes down and sees him? Obviously he'll shout at her to go away, which she can do realising what's going on, and we can skip forward a bit in the thread time wise and have her re-enter as day break comes? If you wanna just do the random, non supernatural run in that works for me too |

Oh, I like.  Mason was pretty private about changing on the show so having someone he knew before seeing him like that isn't going to be easy. He'll be terrified that somehow he'd hurt her and then be incredibly embarrassed about the whole thing later. So yus! I'm definitely good with the embarrassing, spicy way!
