Living with Tommy was better than Diego had ever thought it would be. They still had yet to find a house they wanted to buy but at the moment that didn't really matter to either of them that much as long as they were together. Even before he moved in with Tommy they had taken to spending most nights together and even before they put a label on their relationship he had spent most nights at Tommy's place. This was the kind of relationship that Diego had always wanted but never thought that he was ever actually going to get, being with Tommy was as easy as breathing and that was something that he had never found with anyone else before. In the past he had always tried to make each of his relationships work but he had always known deep down that they weren't the one that he was meant to be with. He had already realised that he was gay before Tommy came into his life, or at least he had been pretty certain that he was anyway, but meeting Tommy had erased any doubts that he might have had. He finally felt like he had found the person he wanted to spend the rest of his life with and he had come so close to losing Tommy for good once so he knew that he wanted to make the most of whatever time they had together. He wasn't going to take anything for granted and right now they seemed to be going from strength to strength. Even Diego's dad was making an effort and the truth was that that really did mean the world to Diego. He knew that it had come as a shock to his dad when Toni had revealed that he was in love with a man and Diego knew that it wouldn't have been much better for his parents when he had come out as well but they were trying to change their views and Diego knew that he couldn't ask for anything more than that. That day was a rare one for Diego, he had the day off work and so did Tommy so they had been on a couple of different house viewings before heading home to have something to eat. Diego had never realised that the domestic life was something that he would ever want but the truth was that he really did love it. He had found his home with Tommy and as far as he was concerned Mystic Falls was the perfect place for them to build a life together. He hadn't said anything to Tommy but truth be told he had started looking for rings again although Diego knew better than to rush in that respect. They had certain things figured out about their future but one thing Tommy hadn't told him yet was whether he wanted to continue ageing or whether he wanted to stop. Diego hoped he knew what Tommy's answer would be considering that both he and Teo were immortal but he was doing his best not to bring it up because he knew that it had to be Tommy's decision and Diego didn't want to influence it. Instead he was trying to be on his best behaviour in that respect and taking it at Tommy's speed. Diego had headed into the kitchen when they got home and had taken charge of making them something to eat, he hadn't had to worry about that too much since moving to Mystic Falls since Toni had done most of the cooking before and Tommy had a habit of looking after him as well but Diego was trying to do his fair share and he hoped that it was working. Hearing footsteps approaching, Diego felt a smile touch his lips. "Hey babe, lunch is almost ready," he said, checking on it one more time before turning to look at Tommy. Wrapping his arms around his boyfriend, he pressed a kiss against Tommy's lips. "I hope you're hungry."TOMAS SILVA

– and the stars whispered ‘come home’ –
Living with Diego had been a bliss so far and Tomas really had no doubt that it will continue to be so. They didn't have a lot of luck with finding their new home just yet, but he knew that the process usually takes a long time unless you're exceptionally lucky and you manage to find the perfect home from the first or second try. Tomas definitely wanted them to find their perfect home but he also didn't want to rush things. So for now, they were just focusing on doing extensive research on each home to see if they fit their standards and what they were looking for.
Today was a rare day because both he and Diego had the day off, so today they went on a couple of viewings in different homes. So far, there was one home that had captured his attention. It was just a matter of giving the house some TLC to fit what they were looking for. But it wasn't a bad home at all. They both decided to head back to the apartment so that they could eat something since they had been viewing homes for such a long time now. He was going to offer making them something to eat but Diego went into the kitchen first and took the lead, so Tomas let him take charge of cooking while he took charge of setting the table for the two of them so that they could enjoy their meal together. He loved how domestic everything was with Diego. He really enjoyed being able to sit with him like this and not to mention waking up next to him every morning.
Tomas finished setting up the table and began making his way into the kitchen where Diego was. "Take your time, no rush." Tomas replied when Diego told him that lunch was almost ready. He honestly came into the kitchen because he missed the other, as corny as that may sound. It was the truth. When Diego turned to face him, Tomas' lips stretched into an immediate smile as his hands moved to rest on Diego's hips. He returned the kiss with three of his own, but they were quick pecks more than anything else. "Oh, I'm starving, babe. But more for you than the food." Tomas teased with a grin forming on his lips as he moved one hand to rest on the small of his boyfriend's back instead. "You look very cute when you cook, y'know that?" Tomas complimented as he leaned forward to press a quick kiss against the other's lips before drawing back.

Diego would be the first to admit that he really hadn’t been looking for a relationship with Tommy came along, it was only meant to be a bit of fun but Diego had quickly realised that it was never going to be just that with Tommy. The guy had found a way of getting under his skin and Diego knew that that wasn’t a bad thing, Tommy had showed him that it was okay to open up his heart again after getting it broken by his ex and even though they had broken up once, they both knew what it was like to have to live without each other now and neither of them wanted to go through that again so if anything it had made them stronger than ever. They were living together now and they were still searching for a house that was perfect for them. There were a couple they had seen that Diego had liked but only one that he had seen him and Tommy really building a home for themselves in but it was a place that needed quite a lot of love to make it into what they wanted it to be so it was definitely something that they were going to have to think about. Now the house hunting part of their day was done, Diego wanted to make the most of the rest of their day off together and even though Tommy normally took charge of the cooking and was much better at it than Diego was, this time around Diego knew that he wanted to do something nice for his boyfriend so he decided to head into the kitchen before Tommy could instead. Diego would be the first to admit that he found it easier to rely on takeout but he had picked up a few things from his brother over the last few years so he was much better at cooking than he had been before he’d moved to Mystic Falls. “At least your stomach isn’t rumbling loudly this time,” Diego chuckled, remembering the last time that had happened all too well. It had a habit of giving Tommy away at times but the truth was that Diego didn’t mind one bit. Having Tommy close by always made Diego feel better though. He wasn’t sure whether it was something that their breakup had caused but even though they lived under the same roof he always felt more at ease when they were in the same room and he missed Tommy whenever they were apart even if they were only in different rooms. As it was a smile touched Diego’s face as Tommy’s hands found his waist and they kissed. “Why do you have to try and tempt me when I’m trying to be on my best behaviour?” Diego groaned playfully when Tommy said that he wanted him more than the food. Tommy had an effect on him that no one else ever had but Diego had been doing his best to keep those impulses under control this time around. “Is that so? Perhaps I should do it more often then,” he chuckled as he kissed Tommy back. “Personally I prefer the way you look when you cook, the concentration on your face is always so cute,” he added with a grin. “Any idea what we should do with the rest of our day?” he asked, not sure whether Tommy wanted to watch a movie or do something else. – and the stars whispered ‘come home’ –
"It only likes to rumble at inappropriate times." Tomas said with a half-smile already resting visibly on his lips. He was a little more focused on the chef making the food for them than the actual food and that was visible from the way he tracked Diego's movements with the same smile still visible on his lips. He was all too happy to indulge in the kiss and when they pulled back, he voiced his own hunger for his boyfriend more than the food. "Sorry, babe." Though from the way he was smiling, he was far from sorry as his own arms wrapped around Diego's middle, holding him close because he was feeling rather selfish and clingy tonight, so of course he wanted to keep his boyfriend close. He couldn't deny the fact that Diego looked incredibly cute while cooking for the two of them. It was a thoughtful thing to do and while Tomas enjoyed cooking, especially for Diego, he was all too happy to let Diego have the chance to do that instead for tonight. "Oh, I think you should. Just so that I could hold you like this more often and just distract you from finishing up." Tomas' lips stretched into a grin as he finished speaking.
The compliment that left Diego's lips next made him chuckle as he tilted his head slightly to the side. "In that case, I'll cook more for us. Feel free to send kisses to the chef whenever you'd like." He teased. He released a small hum at Diego's next question before his own shoulders lifted and dropped in a quick shrug. "I'm open to anything, really." Just as long as they were together, then he was happy. They could do the most boring activity together and he'd be at his happiest because having Diego close was all that really mattered to him. "Do you have anything you'd like to do?" Tomas asked in a rather curious manner, his arms still wrapped around his boyfriend, keeping him close.

“I’ve noticed,” Diego chuckled as Tommy said his stomach only liked to rumble at inappropriate times. “You’re lucky I find it cute,” he added with a grin. It was always amusing to Diego when that happened and so often he could see the guilty look on his boyfriend’s face. The truth was that Diego never minded but there were times when he still liked to tease Tommy about it anyway, it was just too difficult to resist. “No you’re not,” Diego said, pushing Tommy’s shoulder playfully as Tommy wrapped his arms around his middle. “You have no idea how much I want to say let’s forget about the food for now and really work up an appetite,” he added, wrapping his arms around Tommy’s neck before leaning forward and reconnecting their lips once more just because he could. For a while Diego had never thought that it would be like this between them again but he and Tommy were back together and they were stronger than ever so the truth was that he really was happy. “Maybe I will then although you are very distracting,” he chuckled. “Honestly though, between my brother’s cooking and yours I’ve been pretty spoilt for quite a while now. It’s about time I started giving something back,” he added, a smile touching his lips as his eyes met Tommy’s. Diego knew that he really was lucky and he knew that he didn’t want to take that for granted so it was only fair that he shared the load. “Just try and stop me,” Diego chuckled as Tommy told him to feel free to send kisses to the chef whenever he wanted to. Diego had a feeling he might just end up getting his on back on Tommy by distracting him like Tommy was distracting him now but he wasn’t so sure that that was a bad thing. Nodding as Tommy said that he was open to doing anything, Diego’s expression turned thoughtful for a moment. “I’m not going to lie, curling up with you on the sofa watching a movie sounds really tempting right now,” he admitted, inching closer to Tommy to close the distance between them even more before pressing his lips against his boyfriend’s. “To be honest I’ve be happy doing anything as long as it’s with you.”TOMAS SILVA

Tomas felt a soft smile tug at the corner of his lips at Diego's words before he pretended to think for a moment. "I'm pretty sure you find everything about me to be cute." Tomas teased with the same smile still resting on his lips. "Just like how I find everything about you to be cute, too." He leaned forward to press a quick kiss on the tip of his boyfriend's nose before drawing back, his smile still present on his lips. He shook his head almost instantly after Diego called him out on the fact that he wasn't sorry. "I'm really not." Tomas said almost instantly because he was most definitely not sorry. After all, how could anyone resist Diego, hm? He was a weak, weak man for his boyfriend. "As tempting as that sounds, babe, I promised your brother that I'd take good care of you. Can't have you skipping out on a meal now, can I?" Tomas leaned a little closer to his boyfriend, moving so he could place a kiss on his cheek. "But," he paused to plant another kiss higher up on his cheek. "After we eat can be a whole different story," When Diego leaned forward to press their lips together in yet another kiss, Tomas was more than happy to return it.
Tomas grinned at Diego's next words when he said that he was very distracting. "Oh, yeah? What about me is so distracting, hm?" He asked in a teasing manner with his head tilted slightly to the side, his eyes focused on his boyfriend. "Awww, babe, it's nothing really. If anything, you deserve to be spoiled." He said with a gentle smile resting on his lips. "But I appreciate you spoiling me, too."
Tomas chuckled at Diego's words when he told him to try and stop him. "I'd never dream of it." He said with a grin resting on his lips. He released a soft hum when Diego suggested curling up on the sofa and watching a movie together. "That actually sounds really nice." Tomas was quick to accept Diego's suggestion to lay down on the sofa together. "We can do that after we eat something, then."

“Maybe but that’s beside the point,” Diego chuckled as Tommy said that he was pretty sure Diego found everything about him cute. That wasn’t something that Diego was ashamed of, it was no secret at all that Tommy had stolen his heart and he wasn’t afraid to admit it. “I guess we’re both a little biased then,” he said, his smile turning to a grin as Tommy kissed the tip of his nose. Diego still didn’t know how he had ended up getting this lucky but he knew better than to take what they had for granted. “I knew it,” Diego teased as Tommy said that he really wasn’t sorry. It had been clear from the very start but it was still good to hear Tommy admit it anyway. Diego was about to protest when Tommy said they couldn’t have him skipping a meal and kissed his cheek but before he could say anything Tommy was talking again and Diego couldn’t help but laugh. “I’m sure my brother would understand but you’ve got a point there,” he chuckled. “In that case let’s hurry up and eat because I can’t wait for what we’ve got planned for after lunch,” he said, his hand resting against Tommy’s cheek as Diego kissed him passionately as a little preview. He knew that they were both as bad as each other but the truth was that he really didn’t care one bit. He was head over heels in love with Tommy and Diego knew that he wanted to enjoy every minute of their time together. As Tommy asked what about him was so distracting, Diego rolled his eyes playfully. “Only all of this,” he said, his hand starting by Tommy’s head before moving down to his middle and back up again to indicate all of him. “I really don’t get how you can be this perfect,” he added. He had known that Tommy was handsome from the moment he first laid eyes on him but he was such a sweet guy and his body was flawless. To start with it had been enough to make Diego feel a little self conscious but the damage his ex had done to his self esteem was slowly being eroded away by Tommy and he didn’t worry about that anymore. “I appreciate that more than you could ever know,” he admitted as Tommy said he deserved to be spoiled. Diego had never had anyone do that for him before and it made him love Tommy that much more. “You’d better get used to it because I plan on spoiling you more often,” he said, a smile touching his lips as he looked over at his boyfriend. “Good, you can get used to these then,” Diego said as he leaned forward and pressed another kiss to Tommy’s lips. As Tommy said that curling up on the sofa together and watching a movie sounded really nice, Diego nodded. “It does,” he agreed. He knew that it wasn’t particularly exciting but he really didn’t care about that. All Diego was interested in was spending time with Tommy and it seemed like a perfect way of doing that then. “Perfect,” he nodded as Tommy said they could do that after they had something to eat. “Looks like the food is about done, what would you like to drink?”TOMAS SILVA

— and the stars whispered ‘come home’ —
Tomas chuckled at Diego's words when the other didn't even try to hide it. "Oh, I think that's the whole point. Please, do continue." Tomas teased with a grin stretching his lips not long after, pretending as though he wasn't about to let the matter go easily but the grin that he had on his lips showed that he was only teasing Diego. "Only a little bit." He squeezed a small area between his index and thumb to show just how little it was. "He probably would, but still." Tomas shrugged his shoulders with the same half-smile still present on his lips. Before he can indulge in something more, he wanted to make sure that his boyfriend eats well because the urge to take care of his lover was always going to be there, burning under his skin, unable to fully put it out and to be honest, he never wants to put it out because taking care of Diego never felt like a task or something that he had to do. Taking care of his boyfriend was something that offered him inner peace. "I couldn't agree with you more, babe." When their lips met in a kiss, he was more than happy to get lost in it as his eyes fluttered shut slowly, his hand moving to rest on Diego's middle, bringing his boyfriend closer to himself.
Tomas chuckled at Diego's words when he gestured to all of him, from his head down to his middle then back up again. "Ah, if that's the case, then I can't do much to help. I just can't help it that I'm so good looking." Tomas said with a teasing tone, his eyes relaxing on his boyfriend once again before he momentarily turned his attention back to what he was doing. His eyes softened at Diego's next words before he shook his head gently, his hand reaching out to rest gently on the younger's cheek, letting his thumb trace over his cheek. "If anyone here is perfect, it's you, babe. I don't know how I got this lucky with you." Tomas said with sincerity hanging onto his words, his smile resting visibly on his lips as he looked at Diego. Tomas was aware that Diego doesn't really see himself the way that Tomas sees him, but Tomas was more than happy to spend the rest of his life proving Diego wrong — proving to him that he was someone worth loving and worth hanging onto and that his bad experiences with his ex don't shape who he is. "I'm just treating you like how you were supposed to be treated all along, babe." Tomas said with the same sincerity still visible in the tone of his voice as he looked at his boyfriend, watching him for a few moments before he tenderly rubbed his cheek again before drawing him closer to connect their lips in a tender kiss.
"You won't hear a single complain from me, babe." Tomas made a gesture of him zipping his lips shut before his grin returned to his lips. Tomas was aware that for most couples, they would choose to go out and do fun things together, but for Tomas who preferred quality time with his lover more than anything, didn't care if they went out or stayed at home as long as he was with Diego. Call him a hopeless romantic all you want, but he just couldn't deny that there was something so domestic about staying home with Diego and cuddling with him on the couch while they watched something together. Tomas was more than happy to return the kiss before he drew back and left a quick kiss on Diego's cheek to leave him to finishing up the food and once he revealed that the food was about done, he smiled and nodded his head. "Perfect. It smells really good." Tomas revealed with a hint of softness in his tone. "Oh, let's see." Tomas made his way to the fridge to see what they could drink while they ate. "How about beer?" He took out two cans of beer from the fridge. They felt cool under his fingers which would mix well with the food that they were going to eat. He helped Diego carry everything to the dining room where they could eat together and enjoy what Diego has cooked for them.
When Tomas took the first bite from the food, he released a small hum. "Damn, that's really good, babe. I don't know how you keep outdoing yourself." Tomas said after he was done chewing the food. He ate slowly, savoring each bite. "So, how's work? Any crazy incidents?"

Diego rolled his eyes playfully at his boyfriend’s words. “You’re so annoying, you know that?” he teased, no malice in his words whatsoever. He really did find everything about Tommy cute especially after they had been apart for so long when they broke up but he knew that he wasn’t going to let Tommy know that. “Mhmm, if you say so,” Diego chuckled, not convinced at all when Tommy said that they were only a little biased. It had taken him a long time to feel like he was ready to start something up with someone after his ex but Tommy had been a perfect gentleman and Diego had known that there wasn’t anyone out there who would help him move on from Tommy after they broke up. Tommy was it for him so Diego knew that he was biased but the truth was that he really didn’t care. “Best behaviour for now it is then,” Diego said, knowing that now he had something to look forward to at least. “You’re such a control freak,” he added with a grin, his tone light and teasing as he spoke. Truth be told he loved the way that Tommy always seemed to want to take care of him, he knew that Tommy didn’t do it because he had to since Diego was more than capable of looking after himself, it seemed like something that he wanted to do and Diego knew that he was never going to argue with that. A smile touched Diego’s lips as Tommy agreed with him and Diego couldn’t resist leaning forward and kissing his boyfriend, losing himself in the kiss as Tommy drew him closer. It really was difficult not to give in to what he wanted right now but he knew he had to respect Tommy’s desire to eat first.
“Joke all you like but you really are that good looking,” Diego grinned. “You’re flawless, babe.” The first time they met he had thought that Tommy was so far out of his league but he had wanted to go along for the ride anyway even if it did end up being just once. He had no idea how he had ended up being lucky enough to have Tommy want to be with him but he knew better than to take it for granted. Diego leaned into Tommy’s hand as it came to rest against his cheek. “I’m a work in progress,” Diego shrugged although his heart fluttered in his chest when Tommy called him perfect nonetheless. “I guess we both got really lucky.” He didn’t see himself the way that Tommy did but he trusted Tommy completely and it was clear that he’d meant it so that really did mean the world to Diego. As Tommy spoke again, Diego brought his hand up and let it rest lightly against Tommy’s cheek. “You really know how to make a guy feel special, you know that?” he asked gently before kissing Tommy back. His previous relationships hadn’t been anything like this, each of his exes had been awful in their own way but with Tommy he really had managed to get it right this time and Diego knew that he wanted it to stay that way.
“I thought you might say that,” Diego chuckled. He knew that he didn’t tend to spoil Tommy as much as Tommy spoiled him but that was going to change. He wanted to make sure that Tommy knew exactly how much he meant to him. It was normally fun when they went out and had a few drinks or went to a club but truth be told Diego preferred curling up at home with Tommy these days. He had been in relationships before where he and the person he was seeing had ended up going out all the time and they hadn’t really spent that much time alone together. This time was different though, he couldn’t get enough of spending time with Tommy and he knew that after everything that had happened he never would. Diego couldn’t help but smile as Tommy kissed his cheek before leaving him to it and it wasn’t long before everything was done. “Hopefully it tastes just as good,” he nodded. Diego knew that he had never been very good at cooking in the past but he had been trying to get better at it and he hoped that it was working. “Beer sounds perfect,” he agreed, dishing up the food before joining Tommy in carrying everything through to the dining room.
Sitting down, Diego took a sip of his beer as Tommy tried the first bite of their meal. “I’m glad you like it. Looks like all those lessons are paying off,” he grinned, setting the can down before taking a bite of his meal. It really did taste nice so he knew that he was going to have to thank Toni for the tips he had given him. “Work has been alright, we had a call few days ago to a road traffic accident and one of the drivers was in pretty bad shape but the other must have fled because there was no sign of them when we got there. I’m surprised they were able to walk away given how bad it was though,” he shrugged. “We also had a fire at an apartment block, the owner had left the stove on and completely disappeared.” There were times when Tommy ended up responding to the same calls that he did but those two had been different. “How about you, anything interesting going on?”

— and the stars whispered ‘come home’ —
Tomas' lips stretched into an immediate grin when Diego called him annoying before he feigned innocence and pointed at himself, even going as far as looking around him like he just couldn't believe that his boyfriend would ever called him annoying. Him? Oh, please, he was an innocent guy! Though the teasing glint in his eyes showcased that he was anything but innocent. “I don't know what you're talking about. Annoying? Me? That's totally not true.” But the grin on his lips definitely contradicted his words as he spoke. Okay, so yeah, maybe Tomas is a little bit of a control freak, so what? Everyone has their little flaw, right? “Some might say that's one of my best qualities.” Tomas teased in a light-hearted manner.
His expression softened when Diego told him that he really was good-looking then followed that compliment with an even bigger compliment, calling him flawless. “Thank you, babe.” Tomas replied in a soft voice. “I know if I say that I'm not, you won't let me hear the end of it, so I will accept the compliment.” Tomas said with a chuckle falling from his lips not long after. He tilted his head slightly to the side when Diego called himself a work in progress. He pursed his lips for a moment before his lips stretched into a gentle smile. “You're my work in progress, though.” Tomas replied in a soft voice, his eyes still fixed on his boyfriend as he spoke. “I'm kidding, I really don't see you as a work in progress. I see you as this really, really thoughtful guy with a heart of gold who cares so deeply about his friends and loved ones. Someone who won't hesitate before putting others before himself. Someone who is just so lovable that it would be a crime not to love him and good thing I'm a cop because I'd arrest whoever wouldn't love you.” Tomas' voice was soft as he spoke, his hand moving to cup Diego's cheek, their eyes still focused on one another's. “I love you.” Tomas added a moment later because he really did want Diego to know just how much he loved him and how much he meant to him.
“Yeah, yeah, I guess we did.” Tomas said with a soft smile tugging at the corner of his lips. When Diego mentioned that he really knows how to make a guy feel special, he dipped his head down with a chuckle falling from his lips not long after. “Not just any guy. Only you. I'm willing to spend the rest of my life making you feel special because it's what you deserve.” Tomas said after kissing Diego, his eyes still fixed on his boyfriend, watching him with the same tender look still on his face.
When it was time for them to eat together, he chuckled at Diego's words. “I'm sure it tastes great, have faith in your cooking just like I do, babe.” Tomas said with a smile still present on his lips. He grabbed two bottles of beer for them to enjoy while eating or after. When he tasted his boyfriend's cooking, he was quick to tell Diego just how much he enjoyed his cooking. “Oh, it's more than payin' off. This is really good.” Tomas was quick to praise once again, meaning every word.
After taking another bite from the food, he asked Diego just how his work had been. He listened to his boyfriend as he talked, multitasking between chewing and listening. He nodded his head along to Diego, his expression shifting into one of brief concern when Diego mentioned that one of the drivers was in a pretty bad shape after the accident. He continued listening before he whispered a soft 'wow' under his breath when Diego mentioned that the owner had completely disappeared after leaving the stove on. “That's alarming.” He mentioned a moment later and when Diego asked if there was anything interesting going on at work, he took a moment to think to himself. “Well, nothing too crazy, that's for sure. We had a few burglary calls, some people have been hitting up stores. We managed to catch the perpetrators but it definitely gave the locals a scare.” Tomas said with a quick nod of his head following as he reached for his drink, opening it and then taking a quick sip which was enough to make him release a pleased hum.
“Then we had a call about some kids who have been playing baseball close to their neighbor's house, they hit the window and the neighbor kinda lost it. The dad and the neighbor got into a pretty heated argument, they didn't calm down for a while but in the end they managed to settle things peacefully.” Tomas placed his drink back down on the table. “The worst one was probably the call we got to a house near the outskirts of Mystic Falls. It was... Let's just say it wasn't pretty in there. It felt like a crime of passion, it felt personal and get this, the DNA at the crime scene matched that of his deceased wife. She'd been dead for hours but somehow her DNA is all over the scene. We found some shackles in the guy's basement, so there's definitely something sketchy going on with this guy and his family. I wanted to look into it some more because there's just something not right but... I don't have the type of authority to take over the case. I'm just a patrol officer.” Tomas wanted to crack the case, to look more into it, but the FBI were supposed to handle that, not him. He was just a patrol officer.
“And that's it.” Tomas said with a quick nod of his head following. “Sorry, I probably shouldn't have brought any of these up at the dinner table, huh?” Tomas let out a sheepish chuckle before he took another bite from his food.

Diego rolled his eyes playfully as Tommy acted like he had no idea who he was talking about. “Don’t act all innocent, you know exactly what I’m talking about,” Diego said, nudging Tommy’s arm playfully with his own. Tommy was right, Diego did find everything about him cute but that didn’t mean that he necessarily wanted to admit that completely. “Sure it isn’t,” he teased as Tommy said that it wasn’t true. It was good being able to tease each other like this again, Diego had missed being around Tommy more than he had ever thought that he would during the time that they were broken up so now he knew to enjoy every moment. “If you say so,” he chuckled. “Luckily I love you for it.” He had known what he was letting himself in for with Tommy before they got together and now nothing was going to change that. Even now Diego still didn’t understand just how he had ended up getting this lucky, he knew that Tommy was a far better guy than he deserved but Diego knew that he wouldn’t want to be without him now. He had finally found a decent guy who loved him and didn’t want to run a mile after learning about his past or what he was. Diego still had his doubts about who he was and what he deserved but Tommy was slowly starting to melt those all away. “Good, you’re learning,” Diego chuckled as Tommy said that he wouldn’t let him hear the end of it if he argued. As Tommy said that he was his work in progress, a smile touched Diego’s lips. “You’re right about that, you’re stuck with me.” Tommy had taken a chance on him when they got together and he had done the same thing again after they broke up. There wasn’t a doubt in Diego’s mind that he had found his soulmate and he was so glad about that. Tommy’s next words were enough to have Diego’s expression softening and his heart skipped a beat. “I know you don’t,” he nodded as Tommy said he didn’t see him as a work in progress. “I love the way you see me,” he said gently. No one else had ever seen him the way that Tommy did and Diego knew that he had found something truly special with Tommy. “You might want to rethink that because you’d end up having to arrest all of my exes if you did that,” he added with a grin. Not one of them had loved him and each one had caused their own amount of damage to him. Diego was starting to become whole again now that he had Tommy in his life but it had taken him such a long time to get there. Leaning into Tommy’s touch, Diego leaned forward and kissed Tommy as he said he loved him. “I love you too, so much.”Diego knew that he had ended up getting lucky with Tommy but it really did warm his heart to know that Tommy felt the same. As Tommy said that he only knew how to make Diego feel special, Diego felt a smile touch his lips. “You do that every day without even trying, babe,” Diego assured him gently, his expression softening as he let his hand rest against Tommy’s cheek and kissed him gently. He didn’t know whether they would only get a mortal lifetime together or whether Tommy would decide to stop himself ageing but that decision had to be Tommy’s alone and Diego knew that he had to let him make it. “I know. I’m trying,” he grinned as Tommy told him to have faith in his cooking like he did. Diego was doing his best to get better at it and he knew that he really couldn’t do anything more than that. “I’m glad you think so. A part of me has always wanted to learn but I never saw the point if it was just me,” he added with a shrug. It had been much easier to rely on takeout or quick meals when it was just him but now he had someone he wanted to take care of so it made it worth it as far as he was concerned. Taking another bite of his meal, Diego explained about his day and he could see that Tommy was listening to every word the same way he always did. Most guys just pretended to listen but Tommy actually did and Diego was grateful to him for that. “You’re telling me. I know there are always reports of people disappearing around Mystic Falls but not like this, it was like these two just vanished and no one seemed to even know who was renting the apartment.” As Tommy started explaining about his day, Diego listened intently. He was always interested to hear what Tommy had ended up getting involved with each shift and he knew that it was the same for Tommy with him. “I can imagine, I’m glad you caught them,” he admitted as he took another bite of his meal. The next call Tommy mentioned was one that Diego had seen a lot in his line of work as well, it was so easy for tempers to start flying over the smallest thing but the third call Tommy went on was one that surprised Diego. “That’s insane, some people are just awful,” he admitted. It always amazed him just how far people would go to hurt others. “You’re not just a patrol officer baby, you know that,” Diego said gently. “You’re amazing at your job and you always go the extra mile. They’re lucky to have you.” There really wasn’t a doubt in Diego’s mind about that, Tommy always did so much for those around him and it was the same while he was working as well. As Tommy apologised, Diego shook his head. “You have nothing to apologise for, you know I always want to hear about your day.”TOMAS SILVA

— and the stars whispered ‘come home’ —
Tomas chuckled at Diego's words before he nodded his head as he finally dropped the innocent act. "Yeah, I know exactly what you're talking about." Tomas said with a chuckle falling from his lips not long after. His lips stretched into a grin as they carried on teasing each other. It was a nice light-hearted mood that he allowed himself to indulge in. "Oh, I'm beyond lucky, in fact." Tomas replied in the same teasing voice as he leaned forward to leave a quick kiss on Diego's lips, just because he could, and also because he wanted to.
"Took me long enough." Tomas said with a chuckle falling from his lips not long after. They both didn't accept it when the other talked bad about themselves, they just didn't want the other person to see themselves in a bad light. It was nice, actually, because Tomas was more than willing to spend the rest of his life stopping Diego from talking bad about himself because he loved his boyfriend more than words could ever begin to describe and he wanted his boyfriend to see that he was someone worthy of love. "Ah, whatever will I do?" Tomas dramatically sighed when Diego mentioned that he was stuck with him. His lips stretched into an immediate grin before he shook his head with the same fond smile resting on his lips.
"Good, that's good, because I love the way you see me, too." Tomas said with a soft smile tugging at the corner of his lips as he looked at his boyfriend, watching him with the same fondness still visible on his face. When Diego told him that he might want to rethink that or else he'd end up having to arrest all of his exes, Tomas let out a chuckle. "Oh, I was going to arrest them regardless." Tomas teased with the same smile still locked on his lips. Tomas released a soft hum when Diego kissed him and told him that he loved him too. It made his heartbeat stutter in the nicest way possible. It was actually quite nice.
Tomas' lips stretched into a soft smile at Diego's words before he turned his head only slightly so that he could press a gentle kiss on the palm of Diego's hand. "That's all I've ever wanted." Tomas said with the same tender voice, his eyes still fixed on his boyfriend as he spoke.
"Well, you know, in the future when we've got kids of our own, I'm sure they're gonna appreciate you takin' all of these lessons to make sure they're eating good." Tomas said with a soft smile resting on his lips as his eyes relaxed on Diego once more as he spoke. Tomas listened as Diego shared the strange call that he had at work and Tomas was definitely intrigued by it because it was unlike anything he'd ever heard before. He had heard about people disappearing, but not like this. "What? They didn't know?" Tomas' brows furrowed at Diego's words. "Okay, yeah, that's definitely sketchy. Usually when something like this happens, people know the resident." Tomas wanted to learn more about that. "I will ask around at the station, see if someone came forward about those incidents, any relatives." Tomas said with a quick nod of his head following.
Tomas released a soft hum at Diego's words before he nodded his head. "Yeah, they really are. I still have no idea how the dead wife somehow still walked and killed her husband kids when it's clear that she's actually been dead for longer than the husband has been. They're thinking it's a murder-suicide, but there's just something more, I can feel it. Something, y'know, supernatural." Tomas reached for his drink to take another sip before slowly lowering it as he listened to his boyfriend, his lips stretching into an immediate smile at his words. "Thank you, babe." Tomas replied in a soft voice. "I really appreciate that." He added a moment later. It really was nice to have someone who believed in him like Diego does.
"Thank you, babe. I hope you know that I always want to hear about your day too, and if you wanna look into those disappearances together, I would be up for that. It just screams foul play, but not exactly the human type because nothing human could ever explain how that's even possible." Tomas picked up his fork once again to continue eating, enjoying the food slowly so that he could savor all of the flavors.

“I knew it,” Diego chuckled as Tommy said he knew exactly what he was talking about. “You’re such a bad liar,” he teased. There was only one time that Tommy had managed to lie to him and made him believe it but if he was honest he was glad that he didn’t have to worry about Tommy lying to him about anything. Diego had been in far too many relationships like that in the past and the reason why he had felt so safe with Tommy right from the start was because he wasn’t anything like Diego’s exes. Tommy was a good guy, far better than Diego deserved, but the more Tommy told him he did deserve a love like this, the more Diego was starting to believe it. “You got that right, I’m a catch,” he joked as he kissed Tommy back happily. Truth be told Diego knew that he was the lucky one but he loved that Tommy felt that way too. “You got that right,” Diego grinned as Tommy said it took him long enough to learn not to argue. “We both had some pretty bad habits to break though.” He knew that his bad habits were probably much worse than Tommy’s but they were both getting there and he was glad about that. Diego had had a lot of doubts about himself when he’d arrived in Mystic Falls but being with Tommy was making him start to realise that those doubts had been put in his head by awful people who just wanted to make themselves feel better. Now he had someone who genuinely loved him and his outlook on everything was definitely changing. “It’s too late to do anything about it now. Whether we have a mortal lifetime together or an immortal one, I’m not going anywhere.” It would all come down to what Tommy decided he wanted his life to be like but either way Diego knew that he wasn’t going to leave his side. “It’s never going to change,” Diego assured him as Tommy said he loved the way Diego saw him too. Even after they broke up it had never stopped Diego loving him, he had worried that if Tommy could change his mind about the two of them being together then he could also change his mind about keeping the fact that he’d killed his ex a secret but now he knew that neither of those things was true and Diego was certain that his faith in Tommy was never going to waiver again. As Tommy said he was going to arrest his exes regardless, Diego couldn’t help but laugh. “Good luck with that, it would definitely keep you busy for a while,” he chuckled. He had been honest with Tommy about his past so Tommy knew that he had quite a few exes that he’d left in his rearview mirror and so many had left their own scars on his heart but Tommy was starting to help those heal with each passing day. Things were different for Tommy, he had dated a girl before they got together but otherwise Diego was the only person he had been with and Diego would be lying if he said that he didn’t love that. “You’re succeeding, I promise,” Diego assured him, his heart fluttering in his chest as Tommy kissed his palm. Tommy really did always make him feel special and Diego was always so grateful to him for it. As Tommy said their kids would appreciate the cooking lessons in the future, Diego felt a smile touch his lips. “I hope so. You’re already going to have the cool cop dad thing going for you so I needed something as well,” he grinned. He knew that learning to cook might not necessarily be the most exciting thing in the world but it was something at least. He had never bothered learning when it was just him to think about but now he had Tommy he knew that he wanted to start pulling his own weight more, especially since for the time being they were still living in Tommy’s place. “Exactly. That’s why it seems so weird, even the super didn’t seem to know who was renting the apartment,” Diego nodded. It didn’t make any sense at all and he would be lying if he said that it didn’t trouble him. “Thanks babe, I’d appreciate that,” he said gently as Tommy said that he would ask around at the station. “I think you’re right,” Diego admitted as Tommy explained more about the call he’d had. “There are a few things that could have caused that. We can look into it if you like,” he offered, knowing that it would probably keep on bugging Tommy until he learned the truth just like it would with Diego. “There’s definitely something odd going on there. I hate that the kids got caught in the middle of it,” he added. Kids were his soft spot, Diego wasn’t afraid to admit that, and he always found it much more difficult when they were involved. “You don’t need to thank me baby, it’s the truth,” Diego assured him, his expression softening as he looked over at Tommy. “They will be lucky to have you if you ever decide to go for detective though.” As Tommy spoke again, Diego felt a smile touch his lips. “I know you do,” Diego assured him as Tommy said that he always wanted to hear about his day too. “That would be good actually, I know it will keep on eating away at me until we figure it out,” he admitted as he took another bite of his meal. — and the stars whispered ‘come home’ —
Tomas chuckled when Diego called him a bad liar. "I just can't lie to that adorable face of yours. Gets me every time." Tomas said with a shake of his head, pretending as though he was bothered by the fact that it seemed like he just couldn't keep a lie up for long when it came to Diego. "Oh, you definitely are. I thought I was a pretty unlucky guy up until I met you and now I think I'm the luckiest man alive." Tomas said with a grin resting on his lips as he let his hand rest gently on Diego's cheek, his thumb gently caressing the skin of his cheek with the same smile still visible on his lips.
"Yeah, you're right, babe. But look at us now. We've gotten so much better." Tomas leaned forward to press a gentle kiss against Diego's cheek before drawing back. His eyes softened at Diego's words. "You'd better not." Tomas did want to trigger his immortality so that he could stay by Diego's side, but he was still struggling a little bit to know how to do so, but once he knew of the know-hows, he would instantly make the choice. "Because nothing in this world is ever going to take me away from being by your side, Diego Alvarez." Tomas softly said, his eyes still focused on his boyfriend, meaning ever word that escaped his lips as he looked at him.
Tomas knew that Diego was speaking the truth and it made his heart beat stuttered in the fondest way possible. He knew he could trust Diego to never say something that he didn't mean, just like how his view of Diego was never going to change either. There was simply nothing that Diego could do that would make Tomas love him any less or see him in a different light. "Oh, that's fine, I'm a patient guy." Tomas said with a grin resting on his lips as he looked at Diego. "It'll be worth it." He added a moment later as he leaned forward to press yet another kiss on Diego's cheek before he drew back. His eyes softened at his boyfriend's next words before his lips stretched into a soft smile. "Good. Good." Tomas said softly, his eyes still fixed on his boyfriend.
Tomas chuckled at Diego's next words before he puffed his chest. "I am pretty cool, aren't I?" Tomas teased in a light-hearted voice. "But honestly, you don't even have to do anything to be cool. You are already." Tomas said with a fond smile resting on his lips. Tomas' expression shifted into one of confusion as he listened to Diego. "That's super weird." You'd expect them to at least know who was renting the apartment but it was as if that person hadn't even existed, to begin with. "Of course, babe." Tomas said with a soft smile resting on his lips. "In the meantime, be safe, okay? Just 'til we figure out what's happening here." Tomas added a moment later with a quick nod of his head following.
"Yeah, I'd appreciate that, babe. I feel like it's going to eat at me if I don't know just what happened in that house." Tomas said with a nod of his head following. He was both curious and weary. Just what was going on in this town? "Yeah, same here. They were just kids. It was definitely a crime of passion. It felt personal. That's why we're looking into the victims' connections, to see if we can figure out just what had happened that night." Tomas wasn't sure it would bear the results that he was looking for, though. But nonetheless, he was going to keep looking, just like how he was going to start looking into those eerie disappearances.
"I really appreciate it." If there was someone that believed in Tomas more than his superiors at work, it would be Diego. He was someone who believed in him so unconditionally and wanted nothing but the best for him. Tomas really had no idea just how he'd become so lucky. "I'll — I'll think about taking the exam." And for a moment, it was clear that there was something else that Tomas wanted to say. Something that was weighing down on his mind. His lips parted not long after and those concerns soon began leaving his lips and hopefully his mind now that they were out in the open.
"It's just that when I first became a patrol officer, it was purely for the selfish desire of having the means to look for my sister, y'know? I guess — I guess I was upset that the officers didn't take it seriously and I remember thinking that if they aren't going to take matters into their own hands, then I will. I also to try and make sure that nobody ever felt the same pain that I did when Teo went missing. The helplessness of it all. But this job, it became more than that to me the longer I worked. Now it feels like I'm really helping people, like I'm making a difference, so I guess I'm worried that by becoming a detective, I won't be of much help because I won't be in the middle of the action." Tomas admitted in a soft voice, his eyes relaxing on his boyfriend. When Diego took him up on the offer of looking into the disappearances together and mentioned it eating away at him until they had the answers, he couldn't help the chuckle that left his lips.
"Are you sure you're not in the wrong profession? 'Cause you sounded like you're part of the Law Enforcement just now." Tomas teased with a grin resting on his lips. "But we will look into it together. I'll let you know what I find back at the station. Somebody's gotta know something, right?" Little did he know that nobody would actually know anything at all. Those residents were simply ghosts. Like they never even existed in the first place. Tomas finished his food not long after and then chased it down with the remnants of his drink. "You can leave the dishes to me, I've got 'em. The food was great by the way, babe." Tomas praised with a small smile resting on his lips.

“If you’re trying to butter me up here, it’s working,” Diego grinned. There was only one lie Tommy had ever told him that Diego had believed and that was when Tommy had said that he couldn’t be with him anymore. Diego hadn’t wanted to believe it but he had always thought that Tommy was far too good for him and it had felt like all of his fears were coming true at once. Now he knew that Tommy hadn’t meant a word of it and Tommy had vowed not to lie to him again so Diego knew that he didn’t have to worry about that now. “I was joking but I still love that you feel that way,” he admitted, his smile turning gentle as he leaned into Tommy’s touch. Tommy saw him the way no one else ever had and it was addictive to say the least. Tommy had never seen him as someone who was broken or damaged goods, he had only ever been patient and understanding and Diego was grateful to him for that. “You’re right, we have. We’ve done it together,” he nodded. He knew that they had both worked hard to get to where they were now and he knew that things were only going to keep on getting better from here. As Tommy said that he had better not go anywhere, it was Diego’s turn to let a hand rest against Tommy’s cheek as their eyes met. “I’m not, baby. I saw what it was like to live without you once, I don’t want to do that again.” It had been hard enough trying to pick up the pieces after Tommy broke up with him so Diego knew that he wasn’t going to put himself in that position again. As Tommy said that nothing in the world was ever going to take him away from his side, Diego’s eyes widened. “Does that mean....?” he began, his voice trailing off as he stopped himself, not wanting to jinx it in case Tommy hadn’t made up his mind about whether or not to become immortal just yet. “You’re patient when it comes to some things,” Diego corrected. “Or have you forgotten the fifteen minutes after we met?” he asked, an amused smile forming on his face as he looked over at Tommy. Sure, it had been Diego’s suggestion that they grab a bottle and head back to Tommy’s place but that was after Tommy suggested they do body shots in the middle of the Grill. Tommy had been incredibly patient with Diego after learning what he had been through though so Diego couldn’t fault him for that, he just couldn’t resist teasing him now. “I’m sure it will be,” he grinned, his cheek tingling in the most pleasant way possible when Tommy kissed it. As Tommy said that he was pretty cool, Diego rolled his eyes playfully. “I really shouldn’t have said that, should I?” he teased, shaking his head in amusement before looking back at Tommy once more. “Thank you babe, I appreciate that,” he added gently. He knew that Tommy meant it and that alone meant the world to Diego. He didn’t doubt that their kids would see Tommy as the cool one but the truth was that Diego really didn’t mind as long as they were happy. As Tommy agreed that what was going on was weird, Diego nodded. “You’re telling me. It just doesn’t make any sense at all.” He didn’t understand what had happened but he knew that he wanted to figure it out. “I will, I promise,” he nodded as Tommy told him to be safe. “The same goes for you,” he added, knowing that the last thing he wanted was for Tommy to end up getting hurt. As Tommy said that it was going to eat away at him if he didn’t know what happened in the house, Diego nodded. “I understand, don’t worry,” he assured him. “I know you’ll figure it out baby, you always do,” he added gently. He had complete faith in Tommy’s abilities and he knew that Tommy would figure out what had happened. It really did sound strange but then again so many things in Mystic Falls were it seemed. Tommy knew about the supernatural now though so he was able to think outside the box and Diego hoped that was going to help. “I know what you’re capable of, you can do anything you set your mind to but don’t let me or anyone else talk you into doing it. If you do it then it has to be because you want to,” Diego said gently. He knew that Tommy was more than capable of passing the exam to become a detective but it would come down to whether or not that was what Tommy wanted. “Either way I’ll support you one hundred percent,” he added, wanting to make sure that Tommy knew there really wasn’t any pressure. It was clear that there was something weighing on his mind and Diego was about to ask what it was but soon enough Tommy was opening up and Diego’s expression softened. “I understand completely. What you do is important and there’s nothing to say you have to make the change. If staying a patrol officer is what you want to do then that’s what you should do. There’s no pressure,” Diego assured him. If Tommy did stop himself ageing then he could do different variations of the same career if he wanted to so this wouldn’t be his only chance to become a detective. As Tommy asked if he was sure he wasn’t in the wrong profession, Diego couldn’t help but laugh. “I’m sure. I’ve found my calling but who knows, perhaps I will give being a cop a try at some point,” he chuckled. The possibilities were endless so he knew that he definitely wasn’t going to rule it out. “Exactly. Someone will be able to tell us something no matter how small and we’ll find it out sooner or later,” he nodded. It was far too strange and Diego knew that they wouldn’t give up. Finishing his meal, Diego sipped his drink before feeling a smile touch his lips as Tommy said he could leave the dishes to him and that the food was great. “Thank babe, I’m glad you liked it,” he admitted before standing up and holding his hands out to Tommy. “Before you tackle the dishes, I believe we made a deal earlier,” he said, his smile turning playful as he waited for his boyfriend to catch on.
