For the first time in a long time Diego was truly happy and that was all thanks to Tommy. The guy had been so patient with him and so kind, he had said that he would wait years for him to be ready for something more if that was what it took and Diego honestly believed that he had meant it but it hadn’t taken that long and for that Diego truly was grateful. He had seen what a truly incredible person Tommy was from that very first night together and he had been proving it over and over again ever since then. Diego had found himself falling for Tommy quickly and he didn’t regret it at all. Even before he had learned that Tommy was a kitsune he had wanted them to have a future together and learning that Tommy was supernatural as well had only made it better. Diego knew that he could be himself with Tommy and that was all he had ever wanted after what had happened with his ex. He hadn’t thought that he would ever find anyone that he could open up to but Tommy had taken it all in his stride and Diego knew that he would never be able to thank him enough for that. Right now the two of them were still house hunting for the perfect place for them to build a life together so more often than not Diego ended up spending the night at Tommy’s place. The apartment wasn’t very big but it gave them more privacy than Diego’s place did considering he was still living with his brother, Ethan and the kids so it made sense but the truth was that Diego couldn’t wait for them to get their own place. To begin with he had worried about letting Tommy get close to him but in the end he had realised that Tommy really was nothing like his ex, he was so good and his heart was so pure and there wasn’t a doubt in Diego’s mind that he loved Tommy or that Tommy loved him. That day Diego’s shift had finished earlier than Tommy’s had so he’d headed back to the apartment so that he could cook dinner for the two of them. He would be lying if he said that he wasn’t concerned when time went on and Tommy didn’t show but Diego knew that he had probably just ended up getting caught up at work the same way sometimes happened for both of them and as his phone rang and Tommy’s face showed on the screen, Diego felt a smile touch his lips. “Hey babe, are you on your way home?” he asked, not even thinking of it when there was a pause before the answer came but it wasn’t from the voice that Diego had been expecting at all. “Hey honey, did you miss me?” the voice asked and Diego’s blood ran cold as he recognised it as the voice of his ex. “You son of a bitch. Where’s Tommy? What have you done with him?” he demanded. “If you’ve hurt him I swear to God...” he breathed, unable to even finish voicing that thought before his ex interrupted. “Save the idle threats, we both know you won’t do anything,” he smirked and Diego’s free hand balled into a fist as he resisted the urge to throw the phone across the room. “Tell me where he is,” he said, doing his best to stop his voice from shaking. “I’ll text you the address. It’s time to finish what we started before you ran away.” With that the line went dead and Diego waited anxiously for the text to come through. As soon as it did he grabbed his car keys and headed out, not caring how fast he was going as he sped to the location he had been given. Once he was there he didn’t hesitate in breaking down the door and he started making his way through the building looking for Tommy, relief flooding through him as his gaze came to rest on him. Tommy was tied to a chair and he was bloody from where he had clearly been beaten but as Diego sank to his knees next to him with this heart in his throat, he let out a breath as he realised that Tommy’s chest was still rising and falling. “Hey baby, hey,” he breathed as he quickly started trying to untie the ropes, his fingers clumsy in his haste to get Tommy out of there. “I’m so sorry baby, I never wanted you to be dragged into this.”TOMAS SILVA

Tomas had been heading home from work, it was a long day filled with different types of issues but the second his uniform came off, he forgot all about it and seemed to focus solely on the fact that he was going to go home and see his boyfriend and that instantly made him feel better because he had missed Diego. A lot. Though on his way home, he began hearing this noise… Footsteps. They were following him wherever he went, even when he took the shortcut home, so instead of heading directly to his place, he tried to lose the person trailing after him. The last thing he needed was for this person to find out where he lived and possibly hurt Diego, too. Tomas entered an alleyway and when that figure entered after him, Tomas pinned him against the wall with his arm pressed against his throat. “Why the hell have you been following me?” Tomas demanded as he pressed harder against the man’s throat. The other didn’t answer him at first, only chuckled in a manner that immediately got under Tomas’ skin. “What the hell are you laughing about?” Tomas said with a frown tugging harder at his features. “Because now I have you exactly where I needed you.” Before he could process what those words meant, he felt a prick against his thigh which made him look down to find a needle injected into his thigh which made him tighten the hold he had on his attacker but then his fingers went lax and not long after, his knees gave out under him. “What the hell did you do?” Tomas questioned as the world around him started getting blurry until he fell down on the ground as the drug fully took effect.
When he woke up next, he was surrounded by darkness at first. It was hard to see past the darkness but there was definitely a noise. Again, it was the sound of approaching footsteps. Tomas frowned in confusion as he attempted to push past that daze and tried to move but found his movements completely restricted. “Where the hell am I?” Tomas questioned, his throat felt like it was made of sandpaper, his tongue dry like he’d just finished a marathon and hasn’t had a sip of water. “Don’t worry about that. Told you, you’re right where I need you to be.” That same annoying voice came through again which made his blood boil as Tomas lifted his head up to look at the owner of the voice but it was too dark to see anything. Just like how it had been in the alleyway.
The confusion surrounding the man’s identity didn’t last for long, though. It soon faded away entirely when the man brought up Diego’s name. Realization soon followed as he leaned back on his seat. “You’re his ex.” Tomas mumbled under his breath before he started tugging harder at his restraints, his fists clenching harder. As the other spoke, it became clear to Tomas what he was doing. He was trying to make him turn on Diego, he was trying to make him hate Diego but it didn’t work. Not in the slightest. “Don’t bring his name up. Don’t even think about him. You hurt him in the worst way possible and I will make you pay for it.” Tomas promised as he tugged harder on his restraints. “Is this why you have me in restraints, huh? Scared?” The first punch nearly knocked the air out of his lungs as his head harshly turned to the right, the taste of blood flooding his mouth almost instantly. Then more of his punches followed through until Tomas felt his consciousness beginning to slip. In that exact moment, Diego’s ex reached for his phone and called Diego, making sure that Tomas listened to them. “No… Don’t… Diego…” Tomas’ voice was too quiet, though, and before he knew it, the call had come to an end.
Diego was coming for him.
“Don’t you dare hurt him…” Tomas threatened but he only got a mocking laugh in return. “You and your boyfriend really know how to make threats, huh? Oh, I’m very scared. Please, you’re still weak from the drug I used and not to mention, the beating I just gave you. You look pathetic.” The man mocked as his laugh echoed in the empty room before he turned and walked out, the door closing behind him with a loud thud. The silence seemed to last for eternity as Tomas constantly tried to work on getting himself out of his restraints but it barely made a difference.
Tomas frowned in confusion when he heard a familiar voice. That voice… He knew it all too well.
Tomas’ eyes slowly opened as he attempted to blink past the blur in front of his eyes and soon enough, his eyes were relaxing on Diego. “Mmm— Diego?” Tomas whispered. “No, no, you can’t be here.” As soon as his hands were free, they moved to grasp Diego’s. “Your ex, he’s still here— You can’t be here.” Tomas shook his head, the drug still making him feel weak. But with his Kitsune gene, he knew that he was already beginning to heal from the beating that he received when Diego’s ex failed to make Tomas turn on him. “Please, baby, go.” His hands released Diego's to cup his cheeks instead.

For a long time Diego had felt like the way his life had turned out since he’d arrived in Mystic Falls was too good to be true and there were times when he still felt that way now. Moving in with his brother, Ethan and the kids was only meant to be a temporary arrangement but they had made it clear that he could stay with them for as long as he wanted and the truth was that he hadn’t felt comfortable living on his own after what happened with his ex. There was strength in numbers and even though he felt guilty every day about putting them in danger just by being there he knew that they liked having him around and he liked being there so it had worked out well for all of them. Ever since he and Tommy got together Diego had ended up spending a lot of nights at his boyfriend’s place anyway and Diego loved it. Tommy had helped him see that he deserved to be happy, he had helped him open his heart again and Diego knew that he was never going to be able to thank Tommy enough for that. For the first time things seemed to be going well for him and now Diego was looking forward to the future and what it was going to hold for them. They were going to find a nice house to live in, they were going to adopt a dog and start a family just like they had talked about and Diego couldn’t wait. The moment the call came in and it wasn’t Tommy’s voice that he heard on the other end of the line straight away he knew that something was wrong. Normally Tommy was home by now even when he was walking like he had decided to do so today but something felt different and the moment the voice came over the phone Diego knew what had happened. Ever since he’d arrived in Mystic Falls he had worried about his ex showing up in town and now it looked like he had but not only that, the guy had clearly been watching for a while since he knew that he and Tommy were together and he knew to use Tommy against him. Diego dreaded to think about what his ex was doing to Tommy right now and as he bolted out of the door he knew that he could only hope that he would get there in time. He wasn’t sure if his ex knew that Tommy was a kitsune but either way it didn’t matter because his ex would hurt Tommy or worse to get to him anyway and that was something that Diego couldn’t let happen, he refused to lose Tommy at the hands of the guy who had almost killed him and had chased him and his parents out of the town they’d called home. The drive across town felt like the longest of Diego’s life and he jumped out of the car almost before it had even come to a stop. He didn’t care about his own safety as he darted inside, he only cared about finding Tommy and getting him out of there. Diego’s eyes still swept around him as he moved through the building, knowing that if his ex caught up with him before he found Tommy then he might not be able to get Tommy out of there, but thankfully his ex was nowhere in sight as he reached Tommy and started frantically trying to undo the restraints. “Of course I have to be here, I’m not going to lose you,” Diego said as he continued working on the restraints, feeling the weight on his chest starting to lift as he freed first one of Tommy’s hands followed by the second. As Tommy’s hands cupped his cheeks and Tommy told him to go, Diego shook his head. “I’m not leaving you, do you understand me?” he said fiercely, pausing for a moment as he leaned forward and pressed a kiss to Tommy’s lips before moving and starting on the restraints that bound his ankles. “Can you walk?” he asked, only straightening up once Tommy’s legs were free as well. It was then that a noise began nearby and Diego soon realised that someone was clapping. “Well, well, well. Isn’t this touching?” a voice mocked and Diego recognised it straight away. “Did you really think it was going to be that easy?” The voice was mocking him now and Diego felt anger beginning to burn within him once more. “Show yourself you bastard,” he said, that anger shining through in his voice. Unfortunately that only seemed to amuse his ex even more as he started laughing before stepping out of the shadows so that Diego could see him. “It’s time to have some fun. How about I kill your little boy toy over there and make you watch, then I’ll kill you and my other guest as well.” The mention of another guest had Diego looking around them, his eyes searching the darkness as dread filled him at the thought of his ex having captured Toni, Ethan or one of the kids as well but he couldn’t see anyone. “Look, you can do whatever you like to me. You can kill me if that's what you want just let Tommy and whoever else you have go,” he said, hoping that his ex would take him up on that. Diego wanted the future that he and Tommy had talked about but the truth was that right now he would settle for just making sure that Tommy got out of there alive. “This is between you and me, they have nothing to do with it.”TOMAS SILVA

“Baby, no…” Tomas shook his head a few times. “If you’re here, then he’s got you exactly where he needs you, you need to go—” But he knew that Diego wouldn’t leave him here. He knew his boyfriend all too well. He just hated the fact that he was used to get Diego exactly where his ex needs him. When Diego told him exactly what he was thinking, he nodded his head a few times. “I understand,” Tomas answered before he pressed his lips against Diego’s, returning the kiss. “I can try.” His whole body was still fighting off the effect of the drug, his limbs feeling tingly and numb in a way that made him feel sick to his stomach but he still tried to stand, only for him to stop when he heard the sound of clapping.
“You sick asshole,” Tomas said with a frown tugging at his features as he looked around him for any sight of that sadistic bastard who seemed determined to turn Diego’s life into a living hell. His eyes widened when Diego’s ex made his plans clear and it immediately had Tomas looking over his shoulders in the dark to see if he could spot who else was in the room with them, but it was too dark for him to see anything. It made his heart drop to think that Diego’s ex had managed to get his hand on any member of Diego’s family.
His attention moved to Diego when he willingly put himself on the line. “Diego, don’t you dare. I’m not leaving you.” Tomas shook his head. “If you put your hand on him or whoever else you have in here, I’ll make you regret it, you sick bastard.” Tomas gritted through his teeth as he pushed himself up from the chair that he had been tied to not too long ago. “If you think I’m afraid of you, then you’re wrong. I deal with people like you at work and you know what happens to them, they always end up where they belong.” Tomas could hear the sound of laughter and he just knew it was coming from that sick bastard who seemed unfazed by Tomas’ promising voice.
“Oh, he’s adorable, isn’t he? I’m going to have so much fun making you bleed out just so I don’t hear that annoying voice of yours anymore.” The other said with a chuckle following as he took a step forward. “You see, Diego, I’ve thought about it. Thought about killing you and not them, but…” The man’s shoulders lifted and dropped in a quick shrug. “Where’s the fun in that? You, this freak next to you, and the chick I have in there, you’re all abominations. You shouldn’t be alive.” Tomas could hear the hatred that the man carried in the tone of his voice. He could hear how much he despised supernatural creatures. “So, that’s exactly what I’m going to do. I’m going to make sure that none of you abominations make it out of here alive.”

“I don’t care what he does to me, I just need to make sure that you’re safe,” Diego assured Tommy gently. He knew that he had been the one to bring this upon them, it was Diego’s ex who was doing all of this and he knew that he would understand if Tommy blamed him for it. This was exactly why Diego had been reluctant to let anyone else get close to him in case something like this happened but he didn’t regret a moment of the time that he had spent with Tommy. Diego loved him, of that he was certain, and he wanted to have the future they had talked about so badly but right now he knew that he just needed to make sure that Tommy got out of there safely. In spite of everything that was going on right now Diego felt a smile tug at the corners of his mouth as Tommy returned the kiss and he nodded as Tommy said that he would try and stand. “I know you can do this,” he said as he started helping Tommy to his feet. Diego had no idea what his ex had done to Tommy, it was clear that the guy had beaten him and it looked like he might have been drugged as well but Diego could only hope that whatever had been given to Tommy was starting to wear off. Before he could get Tommy out of there his ex decided to make his presence known and just hearing his voice was enough to make Diego feel sick to his stomach. He had feared this day for so long and now it was here. Diego had known that he was putting his family at risk every day by being around them, he was putting Tommy at risk, but he had been selfish and now it was too late to take any of it back. As Tommy told him not to dare, Diego shook his head. “What happens to me doesn’t matter. As long as you live and get to have the future we talked about that’s all I care about. I need you to survive this and I need you to get whoever else he has out of here with you,” he said, his voice low enough so that only Tommy would be able to hear him. That really was all that Diego cared about, he just had to make sure that Tommy was alright. Before Diego knew it Tommy was threatening his ex and Diego felt dread flow through him. He knew that his ex wasn’t going to like that but it was already too late and all he could do right now was focus on the fact that he needed to get Tommy out of there. “Don’t you dare even think about it. You’re not laying a hand on him,” Diego spat, moving so that he was standing between Tommy and his ex and shielding Tommy as much as he could even as his ex took a step forward. As his ex continued, Diego felt his heart sink. “No,” he breathed, his mind automatically jumping to the conclusion that his ex had Eli or Ela held hostage. “How could you?” he said, anger rising within him as he looked over at his ex. “Where is she?” he demanded, looking around them frantically as he tried to pinpoint a figure in the darkness but he couldn’t see anyone even with his heightened senses. “You never used to be like this, you never thought this way about me when we were together. Back then you had no problem sharing your bed with me, what happened to you?” he asked, his eyes searching his ex’s as he spoke and for a moment he saw something, a chink in the armour his ex seemed determined to wear. “How did you become this person? Now you’re blinded by hatred for anyone who isn’t human and doesn’t fit your warped view of who is good and who is evil but the truth is we’re more human than you’ll ever be,” he added angrily. He knew that reasoning with his ex wouldn’t do any good but he had to try although he couldn’t seem to keep the attempt up for too long. “We’re not the abominations here, you are,” he said, his heart racing as the façade quickly shifted and Diego found himself with a gun pointed in his direction. His ex moved so quickly and he didn’t even hesitate before squeezing the trigger and the bullet hit Diego’s shoulder which caused him to cry out in pain, the only saving grace being that it hit him rather than Tommy. “We both know it will take more than that to kill me. You don’t need them, let them go and I’ll do whatever you want. If you want me to fight to make this more difficult for you then I’ll do it. If you want me to just stand there I will. Just let them go,” he pleaded, knowing that at this point he would do anything to keep Tommy and the other hostage safe. “Oh Diego, you always were nice to look at but you don’t have much up top. I don’t need anything from you but I’m going to enjoy making you suffer before I kill you. It’ll be just like old times although this time you won’t escape me.” Diego could hear the hatred in his ex’s voice and it was enough to make his blood run cold although Diego’s expression turned to one of confusion as his ex turned to address someone else, someone he couldn’t see. “Why don’t you show them who you are, sweetheart? Then the games can really begin.”TOMAS SILVA

Tomas frowned at Diego's words when he said that he didn't care about what his ex-boyfriend did to him. "I do, Diego. I care about what happens to you." Tomas said almost immediately. "I'm not just gonna get out of here and leave you behind. Over my dead body." Tomas promised with a shake of his head. There was nothing that could ever separate Tomas from Diego, not even a psychotic ex-boyfriend with an evil vendetta against Diego who could barely even hurt a fly. That guy tried his hardest to turn Tomas against Diego, he tried to make him see that Diego was a monster, someone incapable of being loved but Tomas knew Diego. He knew how kind and gentle he was. He knew that he had a big heart that could forgive people, no matter what. He saved people on a daily basis and he always loved so unconditionally, so of course, Tomas remained immune to the evil words whispered in his ears and told his captor to go to hell which angered the man a lot, but most of the wounds inflicted upon him were already beginning to heal, so Tomas wasn't in a great deal of pain. He just felt woozy from the drug but even that was starting to wear off.
Tomas stared at his boyfriend before he shook his head. "The future we talked about together has you in it, Diego. I didn't plan one without you and I'm not going to." Tomas refused to make a move to get out of there and stood his ground as best as he could with wobbly legs. When Diego came to a stand in front of him, blocking him from his ex-boyfriend's view, Tomas' eyes softened at how far Diego was willing to go just to make sure that he doesn't wind up getting hurt. Tomas' eyes widened when he started fearing the worst. Could it be that this asshole was talking about Eli and Ela? Tomas looked around him again to see if he could spot anything of theirs that would give away that it was them, but he could barely see a thing. The room was too dark and he knew that it was picked for that purpose, to keep them feeling afraid.
Tomas' eyes moved back to Diego's ex-boyfriend as he listened to the way Diego was talking to him. He could see a crack in that façade that was crafted so carefully and it made him think that maybe they would be able to get out of here unscathed but he was wrong because that look changed entirely when Diego called him an abomination. Tomas barely had to prepare himself for the loud sound of a gun firing which immediately made Tomas' heart drop to the pit of his stomach. "No!" He rushed forward when Diego cried out in pain. He placed his hand on Diego's shoulder and when he pulled away, he only saw red. Tomas could feel an exit wound so at least the bullet went clean through but it still didn't fix the fact that Diego had been shot. He kept his hand pressed against Diego's wound in hopes of slowing down the bleeding just until his body started healing.
Tomas listened as Diego offered himself to his ex once again and even though he wanted to be angry at his boyfriend for doing that, he knew why he was doing it, so he couldn't be angry at him. He was being selfless and it showed just how much he cared, too. Tomas' eyes moved to fix themselves on Diego's ex, his words making his heart squeeze.
Tomas' brows furrowed in confusion when he realized that Diego's ex was talking to someone else and for a moment he worried that he was talking to an accomplice but the way he phrased it made it seem like whoever he was talking to, was going to be the other captor. Tomas held his breath as he held the loud noise of chains dragging against the floor, worried that he'd see a member of Diego's family.
But he was wrong.
It wasn't a member of Diego's family.
It was a member of his family.
The one person he came to Mystic Falls to find. "Teo...?" Tomas couldn't believe his eyes at first but as Teo lifted her head and her hair fell away from her face, the strands of hair no longer obscuring her vision, he quickly recognized her. She looked like she had been through hell and back and the sight of her immediately made Tomas step forward but Diego's ex fired a warning shot. "Ah, ah. Stay back."
But Tomas refused to listen which led to Diego's ex firing another shot but this time it was at Teo which made her yell in pain as she fell down to the ground, bleeding heavily from the gaping wound in her leg. "I told you to stay the hell back. Can't have you messing up my fun now, can I?"
"You know, I didn't even know that you knew her, but this makes this so much more fun." Diego's ex said with a chuckle falling from his lips as he bent down to grab her hair in a fistful, yanking her head back until her glaring eyes were on him. "Ah, she's your sister, isn't she? She kinda looks like you. Thinks she's terrifying but she's actually the weakest bitch in the room." The man released her hair with the same mocking grin on his lips. He kept on talking and mocking them which left an opening for Teo to move closer to his leg and then before he could say another word, Teo was biting onto his leg hard which made him yell out in pain. "Screw you and your villain monologue, you chatty bastard."

As Tommy said that he cared about what happened to him, Diego’s expression softened. “Baby, I love you but I’m not going to be the reason you die here,” he said gently. Diego knew that his ex was out for blood but as far as he was concerned this had started with him and his ex and it needed to stay that way, he didn’t want anyone else to get hurt because of him. His ex had already beaten Tommy but Diego knew that his boyfriend’s wounds would heal. None of them were that serious so he knew that Tommy would be fine and that was a comfort at least. “There’s nothing I can say that is going to make you change your mind, is there?” Diego asked, already able to see the answer in Tommy’s eyes. Tommy loved Diego just as much as Diego loved him and if the roles were reversed then he knew that there wasn’t anything that Tommy could say that would make him leave. Diego already felt bad that Tommy had been dragged into this but he knew that if anything else happened to Tommy then he wouldn’t be able to forgive himself. Diego had never wanted to be the person that his ex now seemed to think that he was, he didn’t want to be a monster and he had found his own way to make a mark on the world and help those around him. “I want that future with you so badly but I’m not sure we’re both going to make it out of here,” Diego admitted. If only one of them did make it out then he was determined to make sure that it was Tommy. Tommy had his whole life ahead of him, he had a sister to find and parents he loved and Diego refused to let any of them lose him. Diego knew that he had people who loved him as well, he had his own family and he had Tommy to think about but if saving Tommy meant giving up his own life then Diego knew that he would do it. Tommy had done so much for him and Diego knew that he wasn’t going to let his ex snuff out the light that Tommy had brought into the world. It was easy for Diego to put himself between Tommy and his ex, back when he and his ex got together he honestly had thought that the guy was capable of changing for him but now he knew that he couldn’t have been more wrong about that. He had opened up to his ex about what he was because he had wanted the guy to know every part of him but it turned out that had been a huge mistake and Diego knew that he wasn’t going to let anyone else pay the price for his mistake. For a moment Diego thought he saw the mask his ex was wearing starting to slip but no sooner had he seen it than his ex’s face hardened once more and Diego knew that trying to talk him around wasn’t going to do any good. There was a time when they had been close and Diego still remembered all of the nights they had spent together but he could see now that the person his ex used to be was gone forever and the guy proved that the moment he pulled the trigger. Biting back another cry as Tommy’s hand moved to his shoulder, Diego did his best to stand firm. “I’ll be okay,” he assured Tommy even though it sure as hell didn’t feel like it right now. He was in pain but at least Tommy was alright and that was all that Diego could focus on right now. Diego wasn’t sure who the other person his ex had taken hostage was but the guy had gone after Tommy because of their connection so he could only assume that his ex had followed that same pattern with the second person and his heart sank at the thought of it being one of the girls. Diego knew how hard his brother and Ethan had been trying to find a way to break their curse so they wouldn’t lose them and the thought that they might end up losing one or both of them because of him was enough to break Diego’s heart. He knew that he would do whatever it took in order to make sure that didn’t happen so he tried offering himself up again but his ex seemed to have a different idea and Diego’s eyes widened in alarm as the sound of chains dragging across the floor filled the room. When the woman emerged Diego could see straight away that it wasn’t a member of his family that his ex had taken, though, and for a moment selfish relief flooded through him but then Tommy said a name and Diego’s face went as white as a sheet. “How?” he breathed. How had his ex found the one person that Tommy had been searching for all this time? Naturally Tommy started moving in the direction of his sister but Diego’s ex fired a warning shot first before aiming the second at Teo. This time Diego reached for Tommy to hold him back, knowing that he couldn’t have the next shot hit Tommy. Diego felt sick to his stomach as he watched his ex taunting Tommy and Teo but the moment Teo bit his ex’s leg, Diego used that moment of confusion to cross the room. His ex was a good hunter and he recovered quickly, firing off too shots at Diego as he approached with the first hitting his leg while the second hit him in the abdomen but even though he cried out in pain he didn’t let that stop him. Diego knew that he wasn’t a fighter, he hated it but the truth was that he did know how to fight and despite the agony that he was feeling with each movement the adrenaline was that much stronger and he found himself wrestling with his ex, trying to force the gun out of his hand and getting blows in wherever he could although his ex did the same and seemed to enjoy hitting him in the same places the bullets had hit which made the pain that much more intense. Eventually he managed to head butt the guy and as his ex staggered back Diego managed to grab the gun and toss it across the room far out of his ex’s reach. Now that his ex was unarmed and starting to feel weaker from the blood loss caused by the wound to his leg Diego closed the distance between them once more, both his hands coming to rest against the sides of his ex’s head. “I’m sorry but you leave me with no choice. You won’t stop coming after me or the people I love so this ends now,” he said, doing his best to keep his voice steady as his hands began to heat up. Within moments they were hotter than a human could stand and Diego turned his head away and felt a couple of tears roll down his face as his ex let out a scream and his body burst into flames, leaving only a pile of ashes on the floor. He hadn’t wanted to become a killer but he knew that it was the only way to stop his ex once and for all, Diego only hoped that he hadn’t ended up losing Tommy in the process. Taking a deep breath to steady himself, he looked from Tommy to Teo and back again as he applied pressure to the wound in his abdomen, knowing that had taken the majority of the beating from his ex. “Are the two of you okay?”TOMAS SILVA

Tomas shook his head, the same stubborn look still on his face. "Yeah, well, I'm not going to be the reason you die here tonight, either. I'm not walking out of here without you." Tomas promised him, knowing that there was no way he was ever going to let Diego's ex have him. There was just no way. "Yeah, pretty much." Tomas offered back with a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. Tomas loved Diego and there was no way he was going to leave him behind.
Tomas' heart clenched at Diego's words because it was really starting to look that way, too. "We will." He told him with certainty that made him question everything. He had no way of knowing that for certain, but he refused to let that pessimism consume him whole. Tomas was going to try his damn hardest to make sure they get out of here along with whoever else Diego's ex has in here.
Actually...
Tomas didn't do much and that was the part that weighed him down heavily. Everything happened too fast for his drugged-up mind to process. One moment Diego was next to him, and the other he was taking the opportunity to take down their captor. Tomas tried to move forward but that same dizziness nearly made him fall down to the ground. Or actually, he nearly did fall down to the ground but then he felt hands on his chest, holding him upright so he wouldn't fall down on the ground.
Tomas' eyes widened when he heard the sound of gunshots again, the sound absolutely haunting. No, no, no. He can't be dead. He can't be dead. "Diego!" Tomas tried to move forward but the same hands on his chest were holding him back. "Tomas, you can barely stand up straight. He'll kill you." Tomas shook his head as he placed his hands on top of Teo's. "I need to get to him. I can't leave him, Teo. I can't." Slowly, Teo removed her hands and Tomas made his way to Diego, using the wall to support himself and by the time he reached his boyfriend, it was too late.
For the ex, at least.
But Tomas didn't seem to give a shit about him.
Tomas' eyes were focused on his boyfriend and only him as he made his way forward. "Are you seriously asking us that with all these bullet holes in you?" Tomas asked with tears filling his eyes. If it weren't for Diego's supernatural status, he'd be... dead by now. Tomas approached his boyfriend before he quickly wrapped his arms around him. "Don't you dare scare me like that again, do you hear me? I thought I lost you." Tomas whispered, his voice shaking a little as he held onto his boyfriend tighter before he seemed to quickly remember that Diego was wounded. "Oh god, oh no, is there anything I can do to help you heal faster? Maybe I can stitch you up?" Tomas didn't even know where to put his hands. Diego was shot that many times. He did press his hands against the wound in his abdomen which seemed to pour the most blood, the feeling of blood against his hands made him feel sick because it was Diego's blood. "Please don't die on me." Tomas pleaded, his voice trembling. "This goddamn asshole, I wish I had the power to bring him back so I can kill him again for hurting you like this."

Diego really didn’t know what to say when Tommy said that he wasn’t walking out of there without him, it was both the sweetest thing he had ever heard and the most infuriating. Diego knew that he needed to get Tommy out of there but his ex was no doubt still lurking somewhere so it was unlikely that they were both going to make it out of there. If Diego could create a distraction long enough to give Tommy enough time to escape then he knew that he would do it without question but Tommy wouldn’t take it, that much was clear. “You’re crazy, you know that?” he asked as he looked over at Tomas. He understood why Tommy was refusing to leave him behind and the truth was that Diego would do the same if the roles were reversed but that didn’t mean that he didn’t still wish that for once Tommy would put himself first. Tommy’s voice was filled with so much certainty when he said that they were both going to make it out of there and Diego knew that he wanted him to be right so badly but he just didn’t see how it was going to work right now. His ex was holding all of the cards, it looked like he had drugged Tommy and he had someone else that he was holding hostage and to top it all off he was the only one who was armed. Diego knew that he had to act quickly otherwise none of them were going to make it out of there alive and he refused to let that happen. If he didn’t make it out then he knew that he could make his peace with that as long as Tommy and Teo got out of there but it was clear that his ex was intent on killing them and Diego knew that he needed to find a way to stop that from happening. The distraction that Teo caused seemed as good a chance as any and Diego didn’t hesitate in closing the distance between himself and his ex. The shots rang out loudly in the room and the force of the impact of each one together with the pain that came would have been enough to make Diego fall to his knees but he was moving on pure adrenaline and he managed to reach his ex. He knew that it was dangerous, one bullet in the right spot could end his life permanently and he didn’t doubt that his ex would have done his homework after Diego had told him what he was but he knew that he couldn’t worry about that right now, all he could think about was stopping his ex and making sure that Tommy and Teo got out of there safely. He could hear Tommy calling out to him and telling Teo he couldn’t leave him but in the midst of the struggle his voice sounded so far away and Diego knew that he couldn’t afford to let himself get distracted and let his ex get the upper hand. Thankfully it was Diego who managed to get the upper hand and by the end of it his ex was nothing more than a pile of ash on the floor that would soon disperse. Wiping away the couple of tears that had fallen, Diego really wasn’t sure whether they were tears over the loss of the person his ex used to be or tears over the fact that by stopping his ex he had become the monster that his ex had branded him as but either way it didn’t matter, all he could think of right now was Tommy and Teo. “Yeah, I guess I am,” Diego chuckled humourlessly, ignoring the fact that the pain that shot through his body as he moved had him wincing as he brought his hand up and wiped Tommy’s tears away. Moments later Tommy’s arms were wrapped around him and Diego hugged him back as he let out a shaky breath. “I thought I’d lost you,” he breathed. “You really still want to be with me after all of this?” he asked, needing to hear those words from Tommy. “My ex kidnapped you and shot your sister and I killed him. You’re a cop, you can’t just look the other way.” He knew deep down that if he hadn’t killed his ex then this would have never stopped but he had put Tommy in an awful position and Diego had no idea what to do. As Tommy asked if there was anything he could do to help him heal faster like stitch him up, Diego shook his head. “You’re struggling to stand right now, I can’t ask you to do that,” he said, shaking his head as he reached down and grabbed hold of the chains that were binding Teo, using the last of his strength to break them as Tommy’s hands pressed against the wound in his abdomen. With both of them free, Diego’s back hit the wall and he was glad of the support. “You can’t get rid of me that easily,” Diego said as he brought his hands up to cover Tommy’s. As Tommy spoke again, Diego shook his head. “Don’t, he doesn’t deserve it,” he assured him. “My car is downstairs and there’s a first aid kit in there. My shoulder and leg are through and through but there’s no exit wound for the third bullet. I need to remove it and close the wounds so my body can heal. Are you able to get it for me?” he asked even though he knew that even that might be a bit too much for Tommy at the moment. TOMAS SILVA

Tomas felt a small smile tug at the corner of his lips when Diego called him crazy. There was no denying that he was crazy right now, but he can't imagine him making any other decision. How could he not stay by Diego's side? When the fight started, Tomas should have done anything to prevent Diego from getting hurt, but he was still affected by the drug that Diego's ex had pumped through his veins to make him lose his consciousness. If he hadn't been, he would have helped Diego. He would have done something instead of being so goddamn useless. He was only able to reach Diego once the damage was already done which made him feel worse.
"And you called me crazy earlier." Tomas said with a shake of his head following. He wrapped his arms tightly around Diego, holding him close to assure himself that Diego was alive. Tomas made a confused sound when Diego told him that he thought he had lost him. "What?" Tomas voiced his confusion out loud. Tomas leaned back slowly from the hug to meet Diego's eyes before he frowned slightly. "Don't forget that he shot you, too. This is self-defense, Diego. Am I happy that you killed him? No, I'm not. But, not because of any reason you might think of. Only because I don't want you to know what it feels like to have that kind of blood on your hands." Tomas' voice was soft as he spoke. "But by doing this, you didn't lose me."
"No, it's fine. I want to help." It was the least that he could do, really. His attention moved to Teo who sat down on the ground not long after, looking tired beyond comprehension. "Thank you." She said as she looked down at her hands, finally free for the first time in a long time.
"Yeah, of course." Tomas nodded his head a few times. "I'll get it." He moved his hands away from Diego's abdomen. "Can you keep an eye on him, please?" Tomas' attention drifted to Teo who nodded her head a few times, lips stretching to form a slight smile. "I got it." Tomas whispered a quick 'thank you' before he leaned to leave a kiss on Teo's forehead before he left, using the wall for support whenever he'd feel dizzy.
A few minutes later, he came back to Diego, the first aid kit in his shaking hands. "Diego?" Tomas made his way back to his boyfriend to find Teo still with his boyfriend, keeping an eye on him as promised. He made his way to him, the medkit still in his grasp. "Here, I can help you. There's a good chance the blood loss is getting to you. I can help you get the bullet out."

Diego wanted nothing more than for both of them to get out of there and live the life they had talked about but he knew that if only one of them managed it then he was going to make certain that it was Tommy. This was exactly why he had been wary about opening his heart to someone again, it hadn't seemed fair when the threat of his ex doing something like this was still looming over his head, but the truth was that he would never regret a moment of the time he had spent with Tommy. The guy had showed him how to truly open his heart to someone and Tommy had taught him what it was like to love someone with every fibre of his being and have that person love him just as much in return. It really was incredible and Diego knew that no matter what happened next he would always hold onto that. Tommy was crazy for standing his ground and refusing to leave him behind but Diego couldn't really blame him because the truth was that he would never leave Tommy like this either. "You are crazy," Diego teased, needing to try and lighten the mood a little. "I told you I wasn't worried about myself, I only wanted to make sure you were okay," he said gently. That really was all he cared about so he was so glad that Tommy hadn't been hurt by his ex any more than he had been when Diego had arrived. Diego's body screamed out in protest as he hugged Tommy back but he didn't care, all that mattered was that he was in Tommy's arms and Tommy was safe. Having Tommy's arms around him never failed to make him feel better and now he was able to take more comfort from that than ever even if he knew that it might only be temporary. He really was worried that by killing his ex he might have just lost Tommy but as Tommy said that his ex shot him too and that it was self defence, Diego couldn't deny that he was relieved. "You have no idea how glad I am to hear you say that," he said gently. "I don't know what I would do if I ever lost you, I love you," he said, leaning forward and kissing Tommy, knowing that he needed to stop underestimating him. If Tommy could put what had happened behind him then Diego knew that he could too. "He really would have killed all of us if I hadn't killed him first so I can live with having his blood on my hands." He felt guilty, that much was true, but he knew that it was much better than the alternative. "Alright, thank you baby," Diego said, grateful that Tommy was willing to help him regardless of how much he was struggling with the drug his ex had forced into his system. As Teo thanked him for breaking the chains, Diego offered her a smile. "You're welcome," he said gently. "Other than the obvious did he hurt you?" he asked, his eyes quickly scanning for any other obvious wounds. Diego was grateful when Tommy said he would go and get the first aid kit, he could already feel his strength leaving him so he knew he was going to end up relying on Tommy more than he should and once it was just him and Teo, Diego's back slid down the wall until he was sitting down, knowing that he needed to conserve whatever strength he had left. As Tommy returned a few minutes later, Diego felt a half smile touch his lips as Tommy called his name. "We're over here," he called back, relief flooding through him as Tommy came into view. "It's definitely getting to me," he nodded, unable to deny that not only was he feeling weak now but that he was also feeling a little light headed. "Thank you, you seem to have a habit of patching me up," he teased, remembering the way Tommy had done the same thing when he'd found him after he'd been attacked outside the Grill. "Here, this should help," he said, letting out a hiss of pain as he shifted position and pulled his phone out of his pocket, turning on the torch and shining it on the wound as he moved the hand he had been using to apply pressure out of the way so that Tommy could see better. Tomas couldn’t help the chuckle that fell from his lips when his boyfriend called him crazy. “A little bit.” He said with a small grin locked on his lips. “Baby, there’s no way in hell I’m going to walk out on you because of this. This asshole deserved it.” It seemed like a painful way to go but the asshole definitely deserved it and Tomas felt no remorse at all. Not after everything the man had done today. “You won’t have to know what that feels like, baby. I’m not going anywhere.” He promised him in a gentle tone of his voice. “I love you too.” There was no denying just how much Tomas loved Diego. “I know, baby. There was no other way to stop this asshole.” Tomas whispered as he gently rubbed Diego’s back before he leaned back when he quickly remembered that Diego was injured.
“He did, but I healed.” Teodora offered with a quick nod of her head following, still keeping an eye on Diego. “He’s been starving me for some long, I—” Teo frowned as she looked down at her hands, dirty and covered with dust. “I don’t even know what day it is.” Teo mumbled mostly to herself as she lifted her eyes to look at Diego again. “I never thought I’d see Tommy this in love with someone before.” Teo pointed out, her lips stretching to form a slight smile. Her attention drifted back to Tomas when he came back, noticing the way he was starting to do things a lot more hurriedly now.
“Shit. Okay, baby. Hang in there, okay? Don’t fall asleep on me.” Tomas opened the med kit with hurried hands. “Yeah, I do, huh? Well, how about you offer my poor little heart a break and stop getting hurt, please. I can’t afford having grey hair this early in my life, please.” Tomas said with a teasing smile forming on his lips. “Thanks, baby.” Tomas wasn’t new to patching up wounds, especially with the kind of job that he had. He didn’t do the whole patching up thing professionally like first responders, but he was decent at it. With the help of Diego’s torch, Tomas worked on extracting the bullet from Diego’s wound, apologizing for the pain that he was inevitably causing Diego. “I’m almost done, baby. I promise.” Tomas held onto his own hand to minimize the trembling as his body quickly came crashing down from the drug that Diego’s ex injected him with. Once he extracted the bullet, he quickly pulled out a thread and needle, he didn’t want to wait until Diego’s wound closed on its own, he was already losing too much blood. “Fuck…” Tomas mumbled under his breath when he couldn’t push the thread into the needle head. He looked up when Teo placed her hand on his and took the needle and thread from him and with precise hands, she managed to do it almost effortlessly before she handed it back to Tomas. “Thank you.” Tomas whispered in a soft voice, sending her a quick smile before he returned to what he was doing. “Okay, this part is going to suck. Squeeze me if you need to, baby.” Tomas’ voice was soft as he spoke to Diego, knowing it was definitely going to hurt him. He started stitching Diego’s wound to speed up the process of his body closing the wound altogether, once he was done, he looked up at Diego. “Baby? Are you still with me?”

“I think it’s more than a little bit,” Diego grinned as Tommy said that he was only a little crazy. He really had wanted Tommy to take the chance to get out of there while he could but he hadn’t done it and the truth was that Diego could understand why because he wouldn’t have left Tommy behind either if the roles were reversed. He hadn’t wanted anything to happen to Tommy and thankfully in the end he had managed to get his wish so he truly was grateful for that. As Tommy said there was no way he was going to walk out on him because of this, Diego’s expression softened. “You’re incredible, you know that?” he asked as he brought his hand up and let it rest against his boyfriend’s cheek, ignoring the pain in his shoulder as he did so. Diego had never wanted to put Tommy in that position but he believed him so he knew that Tommy would keep his word. As he said he wasn’t going anywhere, Diego’s smile returned. “I’m going to hold you to that,” he assured him. He really did love Tommy so Diego knew that he never wanted to lose him. Nodding as Tommy agreed with him, Diego wrapped his arms around Tommy as he returned the hug before letting Tommy pull back. Once he and Teo were left alone, Diego turned his attention to her. “I’m glad,” he said sincerely as she said that his ex had hurt her but that she had healed. As she said his ex had starved her for a long time, his expression softened. “When we get out of here I’ll give my brother a call, he has a friend who is a vampire – she’ll be able to get you all the blood you need,” he offered, knowing that it was the least he could do. As she said she didn’t even know what day it was, he offered her a gentle smile. “It’s Thursday,” he said softly. “Do you know roughly how long ago he took you?” It had to have been a while if his ex had been starving her but he didn’t know anything about what Teo had been through so he wasn’t sure. As she spoke again, his expression softened. “I’m in love with him too. Your brother means the world to me,” he said sincerely. Tommy had done more for him than he would ever know and Diego knew that he was always going to be grateful to him for that. It wasn’t long before Tommy returned and Diego nodded as he told him not to fall asleep. “I’ll try not to,” he said, letting out a shaky breath. As Tommy asked him to stop getting hurt because he couldn’t afford to have grey hair this early, Diego couldn’t help but laugh although he immediately winced as pain shot through him. “I can’t make any promises, trouble has a habit of finding me.” It had been that way with the guys that had attacked him outside of the Grill and the same thing seemed to have happened again now, not to mention his job meant that he often found himself in dangerous situations. The pain he felt as Tommy tried to find the bullet really was intense and it was all Diego could do to stop himself from crying out but he knew that he didn’t want to make Tommy feel bad so he tried his best. “Alright,” he nodded as Tommy said he was nearly done, ignoring the couple of tears that rolled down his cheeks. Diego wanted to help as Tommy struggled with the needle and thread but he knew that he wouldn’t be much better so he was grateful to Teo when she stepped in. “Thank you,” he said, offering her a gentle smile. Nodding as Tommy said the next part was going to suck, Diego wanted to take Tommy up on his offer but he knew that he couldn’t afford to distract him so instead his hands clenched into fists and he bit his lip to keep himself from crying out as Tommy stitched up the wound. By the time he had finished Diego was feeling weaker than ever but he could already feel his body starting to heal. “Yeah, I’m still here,” he nodded although he couldn’t deny that he felt incredibly tired. “I don’t think I can drive us back, can either of you?” he asked, knowing that if not then they were probably going to have to call on his brother and Ethan to pick them up.
