| Storm didn't remember how long he was stuck in the office being treated. It was blurry as he looked around him. He knew he would have been dead if he didn't get help when he did. But he was still confused, wht was he spared when murdered a human he thought as he looked at his arms they were still thin as he haven't eaten a decent meal. His hunger wasn't there, even though when he was a fox he was trying his hardest to get food and that's how the snare had him. Storm remembered that and he was terrified, but the hunter saved his life. Shouldn't he have made sure he was dead?
He slowly sat up and grabbed some pants to cover himself from being totally nude. The last words from Chris did confuse him more than anything. His cousin Atlas was here? But he didn't know that was possible as he was in Lithuania, but Storm hadn't seen an atlas for years, he was a toddler when their parents fought. He didn't know this was true or that he was lying too again, as it was to stop him fighting the treatment.
Storm wouldn't forget the treatment or the manhandling from the adult, he was really terrified too. He looked at his arm as the bruising from the iv line was the remainder it was true and it was another memory of he had. He looked for the shirt which was important for him as it was his mother's and the only thing he had of her. But of course it wasn't here and he knew it was back in the woods where he was living as a fox. He was about to head off to get it, but the door was opening.
Storm quickly went back where he was and lied there acting like he was asleep and waited to see who it was coming and take it from there

The man had gone. Rhiannon had closed the door after him an hour ago. She sat behind the reception desk now, staring at it, like Chris would burst back through and tell her the entire thing had been some sort of nightmare. Letting out a huff of grim amusement, Rhiannon closed her eyes for a moment. She could hope couldn’t she?
After they’d gotten the IV into Storm she’d stepped out for a few minutes, leaving him with Chris watching over him. Emotions were running high in the treatment room outside, wide eyes fixing on her like something subtle had changed in the air between when she’d disappeared and when she’d reappeared again. People who had trusted her implicitly before now shimmered with doubt. It had been a bitter pill to swallow but she’d raised her hands in the air anyway, promising them all that they would be seen. Thank God for her employees, they’d made sure that had happened. Rhiannon knew she was going to have to owe Scott big time for it.
Now, even he had gone. The sign on the clinic door had been flipped when Scott had left a half hour before Chris. Peace had settled on the place, broken only by the small sounds of the animals who were staying with them in the back of the clinic and the quiet exhalations of Storm’s breathing as she and Chris had settled back in her office. They’d watched over him like that thin chest was going to step rising and falling at any moment. Maybe there was a chance it still would but at least it hadn’t been heaving with that same drowning sense of fear anymore. Rhiannon rubbed her hands over her upper arms now, feeling weariness settle in like a weight in her bones. Her skin was cool, bordering on cold, that same icy sensation balling up in the pit of her stomach. Whatever Storm had done to his father had been out of self-defence, Chris had assured her of that. When she’d seen Storm here that last time he’d been planning on escaping from his father, the man who’d been hurting him for years, not on killing him. The guilt had eaten Storm alive afterwards, it seemed, leaving him stuck in animal form out in those woods and desperate to end up with his mother once they’d brought him here and Chris had almost forced him to change back. The fact that it was for his own good didn’t settle any easier.
Hearing a rustle of movement behind her office door Rhiannon eased to her feet. The IV had been slipped out of Storm’s arm after Chris had left. There was a chance he would wake up disoriented and panicking again but she was sure she could handle that the same way she did any other frightened animal. An IV bag of saline had been run in to try and help with Storm’s dehydration. She’d even retrieved a small box of Animal Crackers from her personal stockpile in the bottom drawer of her desk.
Teeth clamped on her lower lip, Rhiannon opened the door to her office and peered in. Storm still seemed to be asleep on the table, the too tall form curled up on the metal that was covered with just a thin sheet but now his bare legs were covered with the scrub pants she’d left out for him. She stayed in the doorway, not wanting to encroach on his space. ”Storm? Are you awake?” He had to have been for a few minutes while she’d been outside at least. Her lips pressed together for a moment, her stomach twisting in empathy for the boy again. ”I’m sorry we had to do that. We … didn’t want you to hurt yourself. I … I left some clothes out for you. They’re just scrubs but they’d better than nothing hmm? There’s some food too.” Given how emaciated he was she doubted he’d eaten much while he was out there alone.

| Storm listens carefully to his sensitive hearing taking in everything. He didn't hate his boss for what happened, he was still traumatised by what he did. When he washed the blood from his own body, he didn't understand how he lost control that night. He never ever did that. But he was a killer now, why was he spared? Why did they save him? He was ready to accept his fate. Even when he saw Chris he didn't want to accept the request and shift back, but his body went against him and he shifted back. There were more questions to be answered right now. How was he going to survive on his own? Who's going to help him? He just didn't.
Suddenly he heard the voice of Rhiannon and he waited for it to be ok. He was only sore from the wire, as that was still slow in healing as he stopped it from his Shifter healing working faster. He heard her explanation of the worst experience in his life. He still remembers having his body held down and having something he was scared of being done on him. So he started to sir and pushed his body upright while every muscle in his body was aching. He pushed through it as he was still cold, since there was hardly muscle coverage to keep them warm. He took the scrubs she said about and started to put them, they were pretty big but he didn't care about that as he just wanted to have warmth and not be nude around his boss for starters
Holding me down tightly and pricking me with something I feared so much is helping me? I don't think that is quite right. You know I am scared of needles, I couldn't stay in the room when the animal was given vaccinations, it made me freak out and I had to be away from them he said to her though that wasn't mostly on his mind, he can recover from that it was the murder he did was eaten him. He can't get the thought of him being forgiven for killing a human out of his mind. Even though he was hungry he didn't want to eat anything, he just didn't have the desire to eat currently
I am killer, why are you helping me? I spilled human blood. How can you guys trust me after this? he was so broken. The event of what he did scared him to death. He doesn't want to cause him to do that I need to go back, I left something behind. It was very important to me his mother's jumper was back at his makeshift den, it was the only thing he had of his mother. The scent was still on there and it was the only thing he had to keep him focused and sleep at night. So can go and get it please he asked as he don't think he would or even if the shirt was brought to the clinic, he just wanted it back now so he can cuddle with it as it the only thing left of his mother he had

It was always a relief when an animal came around, it was a bigger one to see Storm stirring on the exam table he was still on. Rhiannon offered him a small smile, tears of relief burning at the back of her eyes. He’d been in such a state when Chris had brought him in, wanting to go. She wasn’t the crack pot sort who believed people could literally will themselves to die but she’d seen animals and humans pine their lives away before, withering in a way that was incredibly sad. It seemed that Storm had already been doing that out in the woods, trapped in this other form, slowly starving like somehow he believed he deserved it.
She didn’t flinch as she eased into the exam room. Rhiannon kept her distance, drawing a rolling stool up close to the door to sit down. Storm would still have his space then, enough room that maybe he wouldn’t feel like he had to bolt away from her. Chris had explained everything that had happened after Storm had been knocked out, promising her that he’d try and speak to the sheriff, getting Officer Richardson’s case written off as an accident. It was closer to self-defence but that would’ve required Storm to come in and give a statement and how the hell did you explain that you’d spent months out in the woods as a fox afterwards?
Her lips twitched up into a small smile as she gestured at the animal crackers she’d left on the table next to him. There was water too. Small things to get a stomach that probably hadn’t much in the way of real food in all that time. The smile disappeared almost instantly though, leaving a lump behind in Rhiannon’s throat. ”I’m sorry, Storm,” she said hoarsely. ”Neither one of us wanted to hurt you but we were more worried about you hurting yourself trying to walk out of here. We were trying to help.” She rubbed a hand over the crook of her own elbow, knowing the misery of injections. They’d given her a handful after those men had broken her arm, trying to ease a child’s pain without a clue of how she’d really ended up with it.
Rhiannon peeled her hand away, lifting both up to ward off the accusations from Storm. Her eyes were filled with apology, her skin pale with regret. ”I promise you, no more. You have food and water here now, you’re not so dehydrated anymore.” And he seemed a little less delusional, like he wasn’t in some nightmarish dream world that they couldn’t talk him out of. He was capable of a proper conversation, one with questions that hammered hard against her chest.
Her heart squeezed painfully in her chest as Storm called himself a killer. Rhiannon pressed her lips together, shaking her head as she wrung her hands together between her knees to stop herself from reaching for him. Not yet, he wasn’t ready for that. Like a wild animal Storm needed time to get used to humans again, to a touch that didn’t come with a beating. Her hands squeezed harder together at that. ”Because we both know it wasn’t murder, Storm. Mr. Argent told me what your dad was doing. You were just protecting yourself against that, nobody’s going to blame you for that.” It wasn’t going to stop her from trusting him either. She hopped up to her feet, holding her hands out in the air in front of him again to calm him down and stop hum rushing off of the bed again. ”Please, Storm, not yet. We can go, when you’re a little stronger, I promise. Can you drink and eat a little something first? Just to get your strength back?” He’d been so weak before, it was the only reason they’d managed to keep him here in the first place.

| Hurting others was something the storm didn't want to do. It wasn't in his nature. He was still so confused about that night. He never lost control or felt that much rage before even with his father beating him senseless. It was out of character for him. He didn't trust himself around people anymore. He was terrified of hurting someone else. He watched his boss more. How could the hunter know it was an accident? Storm remembered the metallic taste in his mouth, from the attack. I remember that night. The darkness was lightened up by the moon. I knew what was coming. Then everything went blank. The blood was everywhere. I didn't know what happened so I ran. I ran as far away as I could. I waited by the bank for my mum, hoping she would come. Hoping he was lying. But she never did, so disappeared hoping to fade away too storm didn't have a plan he just needed to get clean from the blood, do he went to the nearest water source he could find
I thought my father was lying about my mum. But I met death and he told me the truth about her fate. I am all alone. What is going to happen to me now? I just want my mum he was crying as he was scared. He might be legally allowed to be on his own, but storm wasn't ready to be on his own, he needed a stable living arrangement. Especially now that he can't control his other side anymore, he was worried that he would hurt more people, even a child. What if I hurt another person? How do you know that I didn't do it deliberately? I spilled human blood, I can't be trusted. I know this works he kept his head down showing he was still very much scared, but he saw her shadow and wanted to hug him. Storm missed the connection, so he got down and went towards her and hugged her tightly. Storm wished he could turn the clocks back, so he could have told her everything that happened to him before the tragedy could have even happened. But he didn't have that ability, not ever
I am not hungry or thirsty he looked down as he didn't want to hurt her, but he told the truth. He just wanted to stay here in the hug as it was the best thing he could think of right now. He needed comfort. His body was still shivering as he wasn't used to the new temperature again as he was used to the fox body temperature all of this time. Do you hate me for leaving out of the blue and not telling you? Can you forgive me? he asked as he looked into her eyes as he was genuine and watched her closely as wanted to know. Please, the shirt is the only thing I have left of my mother's, it still has her scent on it. I don't want too loose it it's the only thing that gives me comfort I can't relax without it please he pleaded and hope she would let him get it I promise I do whatever you want after I get it, please storm waited and hoped that pleads worked and he can get his mother's shirt back sooner than later

She was used to blood, to the feel of it warm on her hands – with or without the gloves that usually shielded them - and the smell of it that she’d try to scrub from them for hours afterwards. Rhiannon had seen it shed in war, those wounds carved in hatred or desperation, and had seen them inflicted just as badly by people who had no reason to. In war it felt like there was some reason at least but there was never a good one for harming children, especially your own. She’d seen with her own eyes the marks a life of abuse had put on Storm’s body and each one had broken her heart. Nothing more could cut scars into him now, although sheer will power could take Storm back to that withering state again.
Trying to reassure him, Rhiannon had brought up what had happened to have Storm living out in the woods in the first place. Her throat ached at the thought, her hands clamped tight enough to hurt. ”If you can’t remember then maybe you weren’t even the one who hurt him, Storm.” Shaking her head lightly, Rhiannon felt the tears build at the back of her eyes. No matter what he had done he was still a child desperately hoping to receive love from a parent. But blood had already been spilled and Storm’s mother wasn’t coming back.
Rhiannon felt her stomach twist at the thought, the sensation only growing more painful as he said he’d met death. With her dad leaving the way he had done and that heart wrenching thought that maybe he’d died somewhere out there and they hadn’t known, she’d understood what Storm was going through but she couldn’t fathom Death as a leaving, breathing – OK, maybe Death wasn’t doing either of those things – entity. The thought sent a shudder down her spine as Storm started to cry. ”You’re not alone, Storm. Between me and Mr. Argent we’ll sort something out to make sure you’re safe.” Chris had said he would talk to the Sheriff, which left her and Storm alone for the moment.
Fear was obviously clawing at him hard. His head was down, he was speaking quietly but all those questions that smacked of a scared child came tumbling out. Rhiannon pushed to her feet as he approached, catching him in a hug. God, he was so frail. She was sure she could’ve counted each of his ribs without looking. It had the tears burning brighter in her eyes. ”I know because I know you,” she promised him softly. ”You’ve always been a good kid and I don’t think you have it you to knowingly hurt somebody. Mr. Argent said you couldn’t even bring yourself to hurt him, it was all just attempts to scare him away.” Storm had been in animal form then but there had been enough of who he was still present that he couldn’t hurt the person he thought was coming for him.
The white jacket she wore over her scrub top was thin but Rhiannon wrapped it around Storm, trying to keep that thin frame warm as she held him – she’d do it for as long as he needed to, acting as the mom he didn’t have anymore, the parent he deserved. ”You need to eat sometime, get some of your strength back. You scared me when Chris brought you in.” Storm was still just a shadow of himself but she thought perhaps he was just a little stronger than he had been, even if it had taken the IV to get him there. Drawing back slightly, Rhiannon frowned at him. In an instant she was shaking her head, brushing her hand over Storm’s upper arm gently. ”There’s nothing to forgive, and I couldn’t hate you for trying to protect yourself from your dad. I promise, Storm, there’s always a place for you here.” She hadn’t intended to let him out into the woods again, not until he was steadier but the plea in Storm’s voice had her determination crumbling. ”How about we make a deal? We get some burgers and shakes from the Diner on the way out there. Not taking care of yourself isn’t going to help. We get the food, you eat a little on the way out there and we get your mom’s shirt back.” Maybe Storm would try and run again but he’d promised and no matter what had happened … she still trusted him.

| Storm felt the hug and it made him feel so safe and secure. It was the same as his own mother would do. Storm rested his head against her chest as he listened to her voice. He wasn't alone, he had someone else to look after him. That was a nice feeling and he waited for her to stop. What will he do if it happens again. What if the night wasn't a one off. I am really scared I do it again, I don't want to hurt or taste that metallic liquid again he didn't move from the spot as he was enjoying the hug and closeness
He slowly got up and looked her in the eye as she said about him being unable to hurt anyone. I wasn't able to hurt another animal. I knew I had to eat, so I went to the town in the dark and I was raiding the bins. But it was too close to people so I stopped going there. Then food was hard to find, I was relying on bait that hunters left. I was so careful until I was caught in that trap. I thought that was it. I believed I wasn't getting from this, but Chris cut me free. I still briefly remember him carrying me and bringing me here Storm knew he wasn't able to live in the wilderness, he didn't want to come here, but he knew the hunter was right. He was safe. I could never hurt Chris. He never given me any reason too, I thought be tougher he would have left, but I am glad in a way he didn't as I wouldn't be here talking to you now he had to tell the hunter this himself when he sees him again, he wanted to apologise for not listening as well, he didn't like doing that but he wanted to protect him from himself as he didn't trust himself
He felt the extra clothing around his fragile frame. It might not seem much but he was happy to have the extra warmth I am sorry for worrying you. I didn't mean to do that he held against her more, showing her that was really sorry and wanted to make her feel much better. it is not going to happen again I promise. I am not going to go back there. I don't want to worry you again he said to her and looked up meaning it. I haven't eaten for so long I don't have the urge for food anymore. Also I don't have any money to buy something to eat he wasn't being difficult. With no job for while he didn't have any money to buy anything to eat as well
Really I can stay here with you? I don't have to be locked away anymore? he asked and was really shocked. Living in fear from his father for so long, he wasn't used to the kind words. He didn't want to let her go. That would be nice but I don't have any money. So I don't know how we can do that he said. He let her go finally and looked into her eyes, as he wanted her to know he wasn't going to run away and leave her again
Can you ask Chris if he can get the shirt for me? Would this make you feel better that I wouldn't run away? he asked her as he tilted his head a little to the left Is it true that Atlas is here? he asked as he wasn't sure he dreamt it or it was really spoken to him. Storm hoped it was true as he missed his cousin and he like to catch up with him again

It would’ve been easy to tell Storm not to worry. She knew he wasn’t a murderer at heart, but knowing something in your gut and being able to prove it without a doubt were two very different things. Storm could hear it a thousand times, would, maybe only trusting it in the end when enough time had passed and he hadn’t hurt anybody again. Rhiannon ran her hand up and down Storm’s back, the same way her mom would to her after her dad had disappeared. A mother soothing a child, keeping them safe. Unfortunately, Storm’s father hadn’t tried to do the same. ”You won’t,” she promised quietly. ”You’re going to have me and Mr. Argent watching out for you this time.” She frowned at the mention of metallic liquid, there were plenty of things that could taste that way but she hadn’t give anything by mouth to Storm.
Her heart had already broken when she’d seen the state Storm had been in when Chris brought him in but now it broke again. She blinked, tears breaking over her lashes as Storm lifted his head and looked at her. ”You don’t have to do any of that anymore,” she promised. ”Chris told me you ended up in a trap after he found you. He cut you free and wanted to get you help.” Her smile slanted him, her hands squeezing Storm’s shoulders. ”I’m glad he didn’t give in either and I’m glad you’re back. I missed having you around, the dogs definitely missed you too.” Animals could pine just as hard as humans did, especially when their person was suddenly gone.
A shower seemed just as necessary as food, but it didn’t stop Rhiannon from running a hand over Storm’s hair as she wrapped her jacket around him. They’d deal with those needs one by one, slowly getting Storm back to the health that his father had tried to ring out of him. ”You don’t have to apologise, I’m just really happy you’re safe now.” Something that had been twitchy in the pit of her stomach relaxed a little at Storm’s promise. Rhi made a small sound as Storm brought up money. She drew back, her hand on his cheek to make sure he didn’t look away from her. ”You have months’ worth of pay packets waiting for you, but, honestly, you don’t have to pay for anything, Storm. We’ll start out small, make sure your stomach can handle it, but it’s all my treat, OK?” Those fears, she knew, were going to take time to ease.
Here. Her home. Both were going to be there for Storm. She was sure that the sheriff would probably have something to say about that, but Chris had promised he would take care of that while she looked after Storm. Her eyes were still gleaming with tears when she smiled at him and nodded towards the treatment table. ”Nobody’s going to ever lock you away again. You’ve got a job here and you’ve got a home too, for as long as you need it.” She wasn’t take money from Storm for that either. As he mentioned the shirt, Rhiannon nodded. That would definitely make her feel better. The woods were hard enough to track people through when they were human sized and clumsy enough to leave a trail, animals were tougher, especially when they had a human mind somewhere inside of them. ”I’ll send him a message when we get out to the car. I’m sure he’ll be able to get it and bring it over later.” Chris had told her a little about Storm’s cousin when Storm had been unconscious. She nodded, pulling her jacket a little tighter around him. ”He is. Apparently, he’s a student at Whitmore and from the sounds of things he’s been looking for you too. Do you want to take a trip out there in a couple of days …when you’re feeling better… and see if we can find him?” Preparing for the trip out to the car, Rhiannon pulled the jacket tighter around Storm. They’d need to get him new clothes too, another item on the list of things to do.

Feeling the touch from his boss was something he never had. The only thing he had was pain. The touch was sudden and his muscles were reacting to it in a flinching movement as it was too shocked it wasn't getting beaten. Being a fox so long he was having trouble regulating his own body temperature and he was shivering like he was cold. He listened to her words though. He wasn't alone through this, so he looked at her how? How can you make sure I won't do it again? Your aren't the same as me. I might hurt you both too being young in his mind he didn't understand or know that the full moon changes things for him. I don't want to hurt you both. I am not sure I can control myself. Think being alone during these times is the best. Chris is good, but I can't risk it. I just can't the tears fell down his cheek. He cares about them and didn't want them hurt ever
I need to apologise to him too. I could have helped him stay in the woods. But I refused to. I just didn't want to be brought back here. I wanted to remain dead, I thought that was the best he kept down. Storm didn't know he would ever be able to help the hunter at the time. He was in fox form for so long he totally forgot how too. Yeah he didn't give up, he followed me back to the den I made up which wasn't ideal, but I was dry which was what I wanted. He tried to get me out with some food, but I was too stubborn to take it from him knowing he was going to take me back but that didn't matter as he was here anyway so it was a battle he was fighting to lose. He wasn't going to tell her that he wanted to stay in that paradise in his mind, he just didn't want to upset her more than necessarily
The new touches were still new to him and he needed to get used to them. He felt the jacket going on his body and he was still pretty much shivering and he was exhausted still. He didn't have much energy to do most things. It will take him time to get back to completely healthy again I can't accept those payments Rhiannon. I haven't worked for it. It just doesn't seem right when he heard that the dogs missed him, it tore him in two. He always had a great relationship with the canine and he always loved to talk to them . Maybe I will go and see them later he suggested and was happy to have his job. He wouldn't let her down, he was the best worker he can be.
Really no more lock room which is pitch black in darkness? No more fear? No more being yelled at because your dumb? Storm struggled with school and was in trouble with the principal for a while as he played pranks and was late with his homework and stuff. He was happy again as his boss was making his life much better I am truly grateful. I promise to not let you down, you wouldn't be disappointed. I promise he smiled as watched her. Storm wanted to make her proud of him, but he wasn't sure the high school was right for him biw, since he wasn't a normal kid anymore do I still have to go to school? in his opinion he rather just work full time as being around animals was much better than boring school any day of the week. But he will go if she tells him too.
Would he be able to get it though? I mean he is a big man and my den was really small. I know he is a good tracker and hunter, I mean he found me when he wasn't looking for me he looked at her as he trusted them both. Chris always helped him even when he ran away the first time, deep away he loved as if they were his family. The jacket was big on him but he didn't mind at all. ok, can you tell him sorry he asked again as he was ready to go with her, even though he was still tired
Really? Atlas is really here. He was looking for me? he was so excited as he hadn't seen his cousin for so long. Since their parents fell out. He was too young to understand that. I would love that very much. But what if he doesn't accept me now? I mean my father didn't know about my condition. I am scared I will get rejected. Only you and Chris know about the real me of course he had no idea his cousin was too part of the supernatural group as well. How long was he attending the college he asked as he was fully ready to go out I am ready he smiled for the first time in months as he was finally happy again

Feeling the flinch and shiver run through Storm as he hugged her, Rhiannon tugged the lab coat she’d draped around him closer. She knew what it was like to feel as though you were only just coming back into your own skin. War had a tendency to numb you – your brain doing what it could to protect your body from realising what harm was coming to it – and when the fight was over, those shields eventually fell. Bit by bit you came back to yourself and until you were settled again everything felt strange. ”No,” Rhiannon said lightly, drawing back enough to brush Storm’s tears away from his cheeks. ”We’re not the same as you, but it doesn’t mean we’re entirely different either. Chris has dealt with lots of people like you, he can tell which people are good, which aren’t. He’s sure about you Storm. I’m … I’m different in my own way and I’m just as sure.” She hadn’t needed to read Storm’s mind for that, she could see it all with her own eyes. Storm might be scared for now, but he would learn to trust himself eventually.
He already wanted to make amends to Chris and that should’ve been proof to anybody else. Evil people didn’t see any need to apologise, they believed that everything they were doing was right, lawful even. Rhiannon felt her heart breaking in her chest at Storm’s words. They were the words of a scared boy who was doing everything in his limited power not to hurt people. ”It wasn’t for the best,” she said lightly. ”Chris, Mr Argent, he just wanted to bring you to somewhere you would be safe. I hope you know that’s with me.” Storm had fought him every step of the way, even here. It seemed as though that fight had gone out of Storm at least for now. God she hoped it meant they weren’t going to lose him now.
She could see that thin streak of pride working through Storm as he immediately tried to turn down what she’d offered him. Her brows furrowed for a moment, then she grinned at him, trying to ease his worries. ”Hey, who said I wasn’t going to make you work for it now?” she kidded. The job was still there for him of course, it had been since the day he’d disappeared on her. ”We both can, as soon as you’re feeling a little stronger.” The food would help with that, so would sleeping in a real bed. Each detail of what he’d had before tore at Rhiannon’s gut just a little more. The only person who should’ve suffered through what Storm had was his father. She’d never been a blood thirsty woman but Rhiannon wished she could’ve punched his teeth down his throat for this. ”No,” she said instantly, her voice raw. ”It’s never going to be like it was with your dad again. Nobody’s going to yell at you. You’re going to have your own room, it’s going to be warm and safe.” While Storm settled into his new life, his dad would be roasting in hell.
Rhiannon knew that Storm would do everything in his power to keep his promises to her. Under everything that had happened, he’d always been a good kid, one that animals instinctively trusted, and that didn’t happen every day. Her smile slanted back at Storm, her eyes narrowing just faintly – teasing rather than actually ticked off at the question. ”Yeah, you still have to go to school, but that’s something we can discuss later.” Given the recovery time he needed that wouldn’t be happening right away. The only place they were going for now, was home, with that brief stop for food on the way, so that Storm didn’t carry on starving when her refrigerator turned out to be empty.
Drawing herself together, Rhiannon began to button her coat up around Storm, preparing them to head out. She reached under her desk and grabbed her bag, easing it over her shoulder. She didn’t have shoes for Storm, but she could pull her truck right up to the front door for him to hop into. ”I know he’ll find a way to get it for you,” she promised, reaching out to squeeze Storm’s hand. Opening up her office door for him to slip through, Rhiannon nodded at Storm. ”Really. He seemed very concerned for you. I’m sure it’ll be a big relief for him to know that you’re safe too. I can’t speak for your cousin, but given how much he wanted to find you, I don’t think he’ll turn you away because of what happened to you.” Red brows drew together for a moment and Rhi shook her head a second time. ”I’m sorry, Storm, I don’t know.” They could find that out though. Slipping out the door, she hopped into her truck and started it up, bringing it around until the passenger side was right there at the curb for Storm to climb into.

Hurting others was something the storm didn't want to do. Even though his father hurt him, he never wanted to hurt like that. Storm remembered some things about that night, it was returning to him in bits and pieces. There was something he never forgot was the metallic taste from his mouth, no matter how much he used something to get rid of that taste. He should have hidden better. He doesn't trust himself and he was so fearful that it would happen again. Storm trusts two people in this town and that is his boss and the hunter. He knew they would help gain back in control so he wouldn't hurt anyone again what are you? I know you're not like Chris, the scent is different. It's like your magical being, are you a witch? he asked, he doubts it as they can't exist too right?
From the moment I work here I trust you. I feel safe with you. I wanted to tell you about my condition for so long, but I wasn't sure how and not to sound like a freak He also didn't want to lose his job, the only place where it was safe to avoid his father and the punishments as he was struggling with school. Storm really didn't want to go back to school, he never learnt anything much. He was more busy doing pranks to keep himself busy after everything was going on. When the headmaster called his father he was in deep trouble for it. It was one of the worst beatings he received it's just that I am not safe to be around here with others. I am very dangerous, as I can't control it anymore he spoke to her and signed, giving his reasons for not coming back to town and the hesitation of it
I still have a job here? You still want to keep me on? Even after I disappeared on you? he asked as he was surprised about that. Storm was very prideful as he didn't want to take something he never earned. He was always the same, when his mum used to give him pocket money he always made sure he earned it by doing his chores first. I would work hard like I always did before storm did wondered if the hunter was going to teach him not to lose control like he did already, he looked into his boss eyes and asked her the question am I going to be trained by Chris? I mean so I wouldn't hurt anyone else again? he was still scared and you can tell in his voice and tone, but he was trying to be brave, just for her
Storm was a little disappointed that she told him he had to go school. He knew this wasn't going to end well. Of course storm didn't know there was another school in the town, which was run by his old teacher. The only teacher who understood him and even tried to help. Storm wanted to tell someone but he was too terrified at the time I need to mention this, I don't do well in school. I can't concentrate there. I am always in trouble, I can promise you there be phone calls from the principal for it too he warned her as it was the truth
Yeah Chris is a very clever man he smiled for the first time since he returned back to the town. He was slowly getting the trust again, and knowing what he did wasn't his fault. Hearing about his cousin was something to brighten up his day as well. it would be nice to see him again. I have family again he was getting happier, as he was able to he got in the car placing his seat belt on as he looked at the window for moment
I didn't want to wake up, you know. I heard Chris' voice but I ironged him. But I heard your voice, it pulled me out of my own safe place I created. I don't remember what happened after that he didn't fully remember Chris holding him down and having the needle in his arm (which was a good thing) as he kept looking at the window. Do you know that when I die I end up in purgatory? Like I never see my mum again? he asked her. Even though he spoken to death when he had his near death experience, he didn't fully believe or trust him

Outing herself as a psychic had never been easy for Rhiannon. Just speaking the word aloud had a crack resounding through her memory, the sick pain of her broken arm rolling through her for a moment. People were terrified of what they weren’t familiar with, what they’d seen splashed all over the big screen as ‘monstrous’. From the distance of three decades she could see that the men who had come for her father had acted out of fear, it didn’t change things, nothing ever would, but it left her with that understanding and a bone deep caution. She had admitted it aloud to Chris, as the two of them had shared the seemingly bizarre details of what had happened to Storm after he had first run from his father. She had been the one to bring it up to Storm now as she’d wiped his tears away. ”I’m not a witch,” she assured him, smoothing his hair back. ”I’m not like Chris either. I’m a psychic and that comes with a whole list of … abilities … that we won’t go through now, OK?” Later there would be a conversation as they both started to work through what they were with each other, but for now it seemed like a lot of weight to put on Storm’s shoulders.
They were so painfully thin. All the time he’d spent out in the woods, hiding from the people he thought would kill him for what he’d done to his father, caught up in the desperate hope of being reunited with his mom. Rhiannon swallowed hard, feeling the pain in her chest as she hugged Storm harder for a moment. ”You are safe here and I hope that you know now that you can tell me anything … and I won’t think you’re a freak.” God she hated the word, could still hear it in the voices of the men who’d called her father just that. Frowning faintly for him, Rhiannon shook her head. ”You’re not dangerous. You were scared. You’re controlling it now Storm, and you can control it around Scott and the others. You know them, you can trust them just as you do me and Chris.” She’d spent enough time with her employees now to be able to trust each of them implicitly, no matter what they were.
Still smiling for Storm, Rhiannon nodded. She patted his arm, hoping he still remembered what she’d said when she’d found him here before he’d run. ”I told you before that there was always going to be a job here for you, no matter what happens.” She just hadn’t known he’d be gone for so long, or what would drive him away. ”Good, I missed having you around and the animals did too. They’ll appreciate that hard work.” Chris would too. Rhiannon paused for a moment, knowing she couldn’t speak for the other man. ”We can ask. I’m sure if he can help he’ll want to.” She wasn’t going to get Storm’s hopes up, not until she’d had a chance to speak to Chris again. The man was a hunter, obviously one with the sort of morals most didn’t had, she just didn’t know how far that stretched.
School was certainly one of her own limits. It might not’ve been something Storm was good at or enjoyed but it kept the authorities happy and when it came to adulthood, it was going to give him a solid foundation to start from. The laugh that rolled out of Rhiannon was low, and filly with understanding. ”I wasn’t exactly an angel in school either. I got through it and I’m sure we can get you through it too, even if I end up on a first name basis with the principal.” There would be ways of handling whatever came up, ways to keep Storm happy and safe. For now Chris seemed to be at the centre of that, talking about the man and Atlas bringing a smile to Storm’s face at least. ”I’m sure he would say the same too.” Family meant everything, especially when you didn’t have a lot of it.
That same sentiment had obviously tied itself up in what Storm had left of his mom, and how he’d managed to bring himself out of his fox form in the end. In the truck, Rhiannon started towards the square. Maybe she could call ahead, get Clea or one of the other members of staff to bring the burgers and milkshakes out to the car. ”I’m glad you did hear us. We were scared for you.” Seeing the fight going out of him had torn at her. Now Storm was safe in her truck at least. Rhiannon frowned faintly at what Storm was saying about purgatory. ”I’ve heard a lot of different things about what happens after death,” she said softly. ”I don’t know what to believe but I like the idea of the other side. That there are others like us there, people aren’t alone.” Without knowing if Storm’s mom had been something like him she couldn’t guarantee that she would be there, but it was more comforting than the thought of somewhere like ‘purgatory’.

The thought of never seeing his mum again scared him. He didn't ask to be like this. Why was targeted that night? No one would believe him so he decided to keep it secret from everyone, including Chris. There were so many things he kept secret. He kept his condition when he was bitten by his father, he never told him the truth. He just wished he hid out in the woods better when he ran away. So many things he went through were kept secret and Storm will never tell anyone about it. He thought his age would make it impossible to return to school, but it seems that was wrong as well. Was his favourite teacher still there he wondered. Mr. Saltzman was great,he was very supportive and storm enjoyed his classes very much
with this school thing, you do know I am too old for high school now right? You can't expect him to go back there. I will get teased like crazy he hated high school. He used most of his time to prank the teachers and was always in the principal office for it. Storm tried to get them not to phone his father, showing real fear but it was no good the phone call was made. That was the last time he went to school, as Storm purposely avoided it and went to the woods to play and when it was school out, he made his way to work. He did this regularly and it really did work.
Storm kept looking out the window as he was really miserable, he really did miss his mother and was worried about the future. Trust, can he really trust his work colleagues. What would they think of him now? An out of control kid that killed someone. He deeply didn't know he could trust them. I don't know I can he tone was more hopeless yes I am dangerous, with every full moon. I turn into a monster. I am not safe. It was harder to control it around that time. The clinic isn't going to hold me during that time, no one will be safe that was scaring him so much as he leaned his head against the window. What have those weird people done to him?
The reason I asked about the purgatory thing. I heard that's where the supernatural creatures go. They left to wander an island filled with other monsters running for your life for entirely of course storm asked death this but the guy just didn't give him a straight answer, he almost took his hand too. He did want to go, but was stopped by the passers by and was brought back to life. Death told me to go with my reaper, but I am scared of where I will end up. Death never scared me, but knowing there possibility that I be trap in tormented, is really scary Storm had lot of anxiety and was worrying lot about things
Can you talk to dead people? he asked her. He remembered the warlock and he wasn't able to help him. He wondered if she could, and gave him some hope that he would be able to speak and possibly see his mum again. So he waited to see she was able to brighten him up bit and give him some hope at least

If she’d wanted to put a bigger target on her back Rhiannon might’ve considered trying to skip a grade as a teenager. It would have gotten her out of the hell of high school faster, but the Army never would’ve taken her on if she was under 18. The plan all hinged around her being the right age and getting into the right programmes. It had worked in the end, but it meant that she’d have to learn to tolerate the looks she got around school, to find ways to ignore the stray thoughts and emotions that bled into her mind from the hundreds of hormonal students around her. By the end it was a relief to go driving out of town every morning, on her way to the start of her training. She could feel the weight lift off of her shoulders with each mile she put between herself and the people who had driven her father out of town.
Maybe Storm would feel the same relief heading away from Mystic Falls, but the last thing Rhiannon wanted him to do was run. There were people here who were on his side, people who would look past what had happened with his father and would try and help him. Her laughter trailed off to a smile, one filled with sympathy. ”Age doesn’t matter as much as what classes you can complete. I’m sure you won’t be the first senior who’s more than eighteen years old.” Before she might have seen college in Storm’s future, but without the boost of a high school diploma, Storm wouldn’t get there. ”There won’t be any teasing, I would make sure of that.” Unlike her dad - and she knew he hadn’t been able to do that for her rather than hadn’t wanted to - she would stand up for Storm. He needed somebody to.
Most of her focus remained on the road, but Rhiannon kept glancing aside to Storm. He was still subdued, not the bright, happy boy she had known before she’d found out his world was falling apart, before he’d disappeared. She wanted to reach out to him, but she knew now wasn’t the time, Storm wasn’t ready for that. ”I know you can,” she echoed. ”There are ways to keep a part of yourself when you turn, Chris promised me that.” Some tiny part of her inside tightened up. Maybe the clinic wouldn’t hold her, but Chris would know places, ways. Between them they would make sure that Storm and the people in this town were safe.
There was so much of the supernatural world that she didn’t know about. Rhiannon had realised that as a teenager, when her powers had started to manifest and she had no clue what was going on, other than that her dad hadn’t been schizophrenic after all. The rest of the world … that was slowly revealing itself now and it left her nervous. There were so many questions stacking up here that she was sure Chris would eventually have to answer. ”That doesn’t sound like a pleasant afterlife to me,” she said softly, her hands moving restlessly on the wheel. ”Supernatural or not, I think it’s your actions and your intentions that guide things afterwards.” Heaven or hell, the good or the bad and Storm was definitely on the good side. ”I’m glad you wouldn’t go.” Just the thought was enough to make her throat go tight.
Rhiannon had to swallow as Storm continued to wade through his questions. She stopped at a set of lights, picking up her phone to tap a text message through to Clea. The quick beep of a reply that she’d grab them an order and come out to the car had her sighing with relief. She looked aside at Storm as she set her phone down again and shook his head. ”I’m sorry, I can’t. I can read minds, feel people’s feelings and … sometimes I can move stuff just by thinking about it, but I’ve never spoken to a spirit.” Undoubtedly he was thinking about his mom, but she was just relieved. There were enough nightmares in this town without that.

Storm listened to her closely. But he didn't get the answer that he wanted. It broke him so much, as he wanted to talk to his mum. With everything that was going on he wouldn't get the chance ever again. He heard there was no heaven for him since he was part of the supernatural clan. He was scared of complete loneliness with dangerous monsters running after him and hunting him. It was the punishment which he was going to receive after what he did. I am never going to be able to speak to her he signed as he was trying to hold back the tears I am never going to be able to talk to her. Everyone I met with magic has said the same thing. I tried witch, warlock and what you said. It's like no one wants to help me his tone was sad and broken, as he was beginning to give up hope.
School isn't good for someone like me. It's better for me to just work full time. Please, school is too stressful for me he always struggled with the workload. He loved history as his teacher helped him out. Even when he got detention, Storm was able to talk to him. He was never late with his homework and finding history on the town fascinated him, as every book he found always insisted there was the supernatural here. Storm would study for hours, and it kept him from getting a beaten from his father
The full moon shifting was scary as he turned into something he couldn't control. He didn't know if Chris had the answers on this. Chris knows how to contain me during my shifts? He wouldn't risk himself though right? I don't want to hurt him. I don't want anymore blood shred Storm doesn't remember what happens as he blackouts from those shifts, it is not like his normal ones. He was nervous with the next full moon coming into effect. did he say anything on how he was to help me with the next shift? He is not going to shoot me right? Storm didn't like guns, even though he saw hunters having them. They scare him. He knew guns were bad for a supernatural and should be avoided as much as possible
Storm leaned against the window as he was still tired. He is not sleeping well and he still gets some flashbacks. There were many things that scared him but death wasn't one of them. After meeting death himself he wasn't as scary as others said about him. He remembered how close he wanted to take his hand, but he was saved just in time. It was just the location that could end up scared him. Still looking at the window he muttered out which wasn't auditable. it's not possible for me to go to heaven. I already know this. Monsters like me don't enter heaven. I am not a good person. Good people don't kill he sniffed as a single lonely tear fell down his cheek which is the reason I want to talk to my mum, it will be my last and only chance as I never see her again. I am sure I am up there with her in her memories though he said as kept leaning against the window looking at the clouds
