━ it's so quiet here ━
'Hey, Tomas. Look, we have news about your sister. We believe we have found her.'
For a voice relaying such comforting news, there was a hint of sadness in the man's voice that made Tomas' heart sink. "That's━ That's great, Han. Where's she? I'll be there right away." He had just finished a long shift at work, and he was about to head to the Alvarez residence to stay with his boyfriend, who was keeping an eye on Ethan after he'd gotten injured during a call. He was aching to see his boyfriend again because he had missed him, but it seemed like the universe had other plans. "I need you to not freak out, okay? We don't have solid evidence that it's her, that's why we're asking you to come in and identify her."
Freak out? Identify? Tomas gulped past the lump in his throat as his lips parted to let out a shaky breath of air. "Where's she, Han?" Tomas repeated his question, but this time, his voice wasn't stable anymore. "Mystic Falls morgue." And that was enough to make tears form in Tomas' eyes, his hand gripping the phone so tightly to the point where his hand began to tremble. "I'll━ I'll be there in a min." Tomas ended the call after that, his head tipping back to release another shaky sigh as he closed his eyes tightly.
Tomas didn't give himself enough time to think and instead turned his car around to drive in the general direction of the morgue. Upon arrival, Tomas came to the conclusion that he can't go in. He can't seem to bring himself to do it. Tomas stood in front of the door, unable to step inside.
Tomas didn't want to see her. He didn't want to see her in case she was really Teodora. But he can't turn around, he needs to identify her or else he'll go back to square one and this time, he'll be searching in vain because the answer is right before his eyes, he's just refusing to see it.
Tomas took his phone out and dialed Diego's number. He stayed quiet for a bit, even after he was certain that Diego had picked up. "Um, hey, baby." Tomas was pretty sure his voice ratted him out in an instant. He sounded devastated and also sounded like he was desperately trying to seem okay, but his voice was proving otherwise. "I need, um, I need you. I think they f━found Teo." Tomas' voice didn't sound happy in the slightest, despite how wonderful the news sounded. "I'm━" Tomas' voice broke, so the silence soon came back. "I'm at the morgue. I can't go in on my own. Can you━ can you come with me?" Tomas' voice was pleading as he stared at the door that led him into the morgue, still standing rooted in his spot, refusing to budge as he waited for Diego's answer, his bottom lip caught between his teeth.

It had been a rough day and if Diego was honest he was looking forward to nothing more than being able to curl up and relax with Tommy. Ethan had ended up getting hurt after disobeying orders and going back into a burning building after the order was given to leave but Diego couldn’t blame him for it. He had saved a kid who was trapped in the fire but in doing so he had almost lost his own life. Diego knew how difficult it was for his brother to stand by and watch while Ethan went in there alone and he didn’t doubt that Toni had meant it when he’d said that he would have gone in after Ethan even if it had meant losing his job. They had both known that Ethan would make it out of the fire in one piece but if he had died in there then it would have meant that the whole family would have had to move away and start over somewhere unless they were able to make everyone believe that Ethan hadn’t died in there after all. He had already talked to Tommy and arranged for the two of them to spend the night at Diego’s home rather than his like they usually did. Diego had promised that he would stick around and look out for Ethan in case they needed him and he’d meant it but he had known that he wasn’t going to let that stop him from spending time with his boyfriend. That was something that he needed after the day they’d had and he felt a smile form on his face as he caught sight of the photo of Tommy lighting up his phone as the call came in. “Hey babe, are you on your way?” he asked, a look of confusion crossing his face as no answer came. “Babe, are you there?” he asked, worried for a moment that something might have happened. Needless to say relief flooded through him as Tommy’s voice finally came through the phone but there was something off about it. He didn’t sound like himself, he sounded like he was really upset but doing his best to hide it and that was enough to put Diego on edge straight away. “What is it baby, what’s wrong?” he asked. The moment Tommy said that they thought they’d found Teo, Diego’s heart sank. He knew just how long Tommy had been waiting for news like that but the way he was acting wasn’t ecstatic like it should be and that was enough to fill Diego with dread. The pleading note in Tommy’s voice as he asked him to go with him was enough to make Diego’s heart ache and he was already on the move before Tommy had even finished asking. “I’m on my way,” he said, grabbing his keys from the side before catching his brother’s confused look. “I’ll explain later, Tommy needs me,” he said, covering the microphone with his hand as he spoke before turning and heading in the direction of the door. “Stay on the line babe, I don’t want to leave you alone,” he said, climbing into the car and talking about anything and everything on the drive over to make sure that Tommy knew that he wasn’t on his own. Diego was tempted to put his foot down and speed across town or just transform and fly over but he knew that neither of those things would do any good so instead he had to be patient and settle for getting there as quickly as he could in the usual way. It was only when he pulled his car up at the side of the road that Diego finally ended the call and he was out of the car in an instant, pulling Tommy into his arms the moment he reached him. “I’m here baby,” he said, kissing the top of Tommy’s head gently. “How are you doing, are you okay?” he asked even though he was pretty sure he already knew the answer to that question. “Are you ready to do this?”TOMAS SILVA

━ it's so quiet here ━
Hey babe, are you on your way? Babe, are you there? What is it baby, what’s wrong?
Tomas' heart ached at the way Diego seemed to sense so effortlessly that he wasn't doing so well. He'd been trying so hard to mask his pain and sound normal, so he wouldn't worry his boyfriend straight off the bat, but Diego had effortlessly sensed that he wasn't doing well. He eventually told Diego why he had called him so abruptly, and it seemed to take some weight off his shoulders and heart, but he still couldn't hide the fact that he was so scared to step in there because what if he removed the white sheet and saw his sister lying there? What would he tell her girlfriend? How would he even be able to go on without her...
I’m on my way, Stay on the line babe, I don’t want to leave you alone,
"Th━Thank you." Tomas breathed out, his voice breaking a little as he leaned against the wall for support, the ground feeling like it was shaking hard. "Okay, yeah, um, I'm right here." He was comforted by the fact that he could hear Diego's voice, he could hear what his boyfriend was doing, and it was the fact that he was heading over here that comforted him the most.
Tomas kept his cool for the most part, but his facade seemed to break when he saw the headlights of Diego's car and the second he was in Diego's embrace, he allowed a few tears to fall down his cheeks. He held onto his boyfriend tightly, his hands fisting into his shirt. "Thank you for being here, baby." Tomas' eyes closed for a moment as he allowed himself to breathe in Diego's familiar scent. "I'm━" Tomas was experiencing so many emotions, but fear was the most prominent one. "I'm okay." It was that default setting he had in his head to always pretend to be okay when, in actuality, he was far from it.
"I'm just..." Tomas knew that he couldn't lie or pretend with Diego. The younger knew him too well, and honestly? He didn't want to lie or pretend. It was about time he stopped pretending to be okay when he was far from it. "I'm scared." Tomas admitted as his tears became visible in his eyes again, but this time, he was refusing to blink or else the dam might break and never get rebuilt again. He was worried he wouldn't be able to stop. "I'm scared it's going to be h━her." Tomas had been looking for her for so long, and the thought that he might have been too late scared him to death.
Tomas eyed the entrance of the morgue before his attention moved back to Diego. "No..." He admitted with a shaky sigh falling from his lips not long after. "But I have to do this." Tomas gulped past the lump in his throat. "Let's... Let's do this." With Diego's hand in his own, he began approaching the entrance of the morgue before he stopped again. He gulped and tightened the hold that he had on Diego's hand before he finally opened the door, so he can step inside. He began walking down the hallway with Diego, and it wasn't long before he'd reached the room where his sister was kept. The door was open and on a table was a body covered with a white sheet. So perfectly still. Tomas held his breath, and he didn't even seem to realize it as he looked at that body from afar, too afraid to take a single step forward. Tomas clenched and unclenched his jaw as his eyes filled with unshed tears once again. "I can't..." Tomas finally breathed again when his lungs burned with the desire to take in a breath of air. "I can't do this..." It felt too real, and he was so scared that he'd see his sister's face when he removes the sheet. It would make the whole world collapse. "I can't..."

After the day they’d all had Diego had wanted nothing more than to relax and enjoy the evening with his boyfriend and follow through on his promise of making sure that Ethan was alright but the moment Tommy called, Diego knew that something was wrong. He knew that Tommy could have easily pocket dialled him by mistake or something but that wasn’t something that Tommy ever did and the fact that he didn’t answer straight away worried Diego. The moment Tommy’s voice came over the line it was clear to Diego that he wasn’t alright, he knew that Tommy was so used to trying to put on a front for everyone else to stop them worrying about him but Diego had told him so many times that he didn’t need to do that with him and he could tell that there was something badly wrong even though Tommy was doing his best to hide it. The moment Tommy said that he thought his sister had been found Diego was already on his feet slipping on his jacket and reaching for his keys before Tommy had even asked him to go with him. Tommy should have been happy that Teo had been found but his tone indicated that he was so far from what and that scared Diego. He hadn’t wanted to assume the worst about what had happened to Teo and the whole drive over he found himself praying, to whom he had no idea, that it was a mistake and that it wasn’t Tommy’s sister after all. The guy had been searching for his sister for such a long time and Diego hated to think that it might end like this. The whole drive over he talked to Tommy, making sure that the guy knew that he wasn’t alone and Diego lost count of the amount of times that he said that it might not be her. In a way he felt like a bit of a broken record and he knew that he might just be giving Tommy false hope but they didn’t have all the facts yet so for a little longer at least they could both hope that it wasn’t her. Pulling his car up outside the morgue, Diego didn’t hesitate in climbing out of the car and pulling Tommy into his arms. He could tell that Tommy was crying and Diego kissed the top of his head gently, holding Tommy to him tightly for a moment while Tommy let out what he had been holding back. “I promised I’d be here for you and I meant it,” Diego assured him. Tommy had been dealing with all of this on his own for such a long time but the moment Diego had learned about what had happened to his sister he had made a promise to himself that he wasn’t going to let Tommy face all of this on his own any longer and it was a promise that he was determined to keep. Diego had never met Teo but it was clear to him just how much Tommy loved her and Diego knew that he would do anything he could in order to help his boyfriend find her. As Tommy said that he was okay, Diego didn’t even have to challenge him on that to get him to tell him how he was really feeling and he nodded as Tommy said he was scared. “I can understand that but it might not be, we don’t know yet,” he said gently. There was only one way to find out for sure and he wasn’t at all surprised when Tommy said that he wasn’t ready to go in but that he had to do it and Diego linked their fingers together and gave his boyfriend’s hand a gentle squeeze. Diego was silent as they headed inside and it was only when they reached the room and Tommy froze that Diego spoke again. “Breathe baby, breathe,” he said, stepping in front of Tommy and placing a hand on each of his shoulders. As Tommy said he couldn’t do it, Diego pulled him into his arms once more and held him tightly for a moment before letting him go. “I know this isn’t easy baby but you’ve been searching for Teo for so long and this is the only way to know for sure if it’s her,” he said, his hands resting against Tommy’s neck as their eyes met. “You’ve got this, do you hear me?” he asked, his eyes locked on his boyfriend’s as he spoke. “You need to know if it’s her and if it isn’t then they need keep looking for the girl’s family,” he said, leaning forward and pressing his lips lightly to his boyfriend’s forehead. “I’m not going anywhere, I’m going to be right here with you. Are you ready?”TOMAS SILVA

━ it's so quiet here ━
I promised I’d be here for you and I meant it, I can understand that but it might not be, we don’t know yet,
Tomas felt a soft smile touch his lips at Diego's words, finding his words incredibly comforting. He really did appreciate having Diego with him. He was that rational voice that he desperately needed to listen to, so he wouldn't freak out and lose his cool. Diego was right, it might not end up being Teo and that realization made some tension in his shoulders ease away. God, he really hoped so. He didn't want to lose her, she meant a lot to him. She wasn't just his sister, but also his best friend, so of course he didn't want anything bad to happen to her. He had been looking for her ever since he arrived in town, and the thought that he might have been a little too late was scaring the hell out of him. He should have looked deeper, he should have checked every nook and cranny of this town. He should have done so many things...
Breathe baby, breathe, I know this isn’t easy baby but you’ve been searching for Teo for so long and this is the only way to know for sure if it’s her,
Tomas breathed out shakily, his tearful eyes settling on Diego once again as he moved to stand in front of him. Tomas didn't wrap his arms around Diego immediately as he quietly cried for a few moments before his arms wrapped around his boyfriend, his eyes clenched shut. When the hug broke, he leaned back to look at his boyfriend, his words making him nod his head slowly in agreement with his boyfriend. It was the only way to know for sure. "I know..." Tomas wiped his cheeks with the back of his hand, refusing to let that fear swallow him whole.
You’ve got this, do you hear me? You need to know if it’s her and if it isn’t then they need keep looking for the girl’s family, I’m not going anywhere, I’m going to be right here with you. Are you ready?
Tomas' hands moved to rest on top of Diego's as he nodded his head a few times. "I've got this." He repeated and again, knowing that at one point, he'll start to believe it, and it was exactly what he required. "Okay." Tomas sniffed once. "Thank you." Tomas whispered because Diego really was that rational voice he needed to listen to so he wouldn't panic. He was everything he needed and more in that exact moment. "Yeah." Tomas wiped his cheeks again to pull himself together. "I'm ready."
Tomas gulped past the lump in his throat and grasped Diego's hand in his own as he finally crossed that invisible barrier isolating him from that room and slowly began approaching the body on the table. Tomas lifted his free hand and moved it closer to the white sheets, hovering over it for a moment before he eventually grasped it between his fingers. Tomas didn't move for a moment or so, just mustering the courage to do it and see for himself whether it was Teodora or not.
Tomas was comforted by the fact that Diego was right there with him. It gave him the courage needed to finally move the white sheet down, and it slowly but surely revealed the face of a woman. The first thing he noticed was the bite mark on her neck, then he took her in. With his job, Tomas had seen enough dead bodies to last him a lifetime, but still, looking at that woman made him feel sick to his stomach. Tomas noticed the many similarities she had with Teodora, but...
It wasn't her.
Tomas knew his sister all too well, knew her features better than anyone, and that woman didn't look like his sister. Her nose shape was different, her cheekbones were a lot more defined. Tomas released a shaky sigh of relief as his eyes moved to settle on Diego. He gave him a gentle shake of his head before his eyes found the coroner. "It's not her." Tomas revealed, his voice still shaking a little. Tomas stepped away from the table and looked away from the woman to settle his eyes on Diego. "It's not her."

Diego would be the first to admit that he was out of his comfort zone right now but he was determined to be there for Tommy. He had seen a lot of deaths over the years since he had started working as a fire fighter but identifying a body was something completely different and he desperately wanted it to be someone else, no matter how awful that sounded. Diego knew that Tommy needed him to be strong right now and he was doing his best to reassure his boyfriend but a part of him was worried that he might end up saying the wrong thing or might end up giving Tommy false hope which would only make it worse if it did turn out to be Teo. The truth was, though, that at the moment they had no idea if it was her or not and he needed Tommy to know that. Diego knew how much Teo meant to Tommy, that had been clear from the way he had talked about her the night they met and half the town had been looking for her ever since then it seemed so he knew that it would be so incredibly cruel if this was how Tommy ended up seeing her again. He really couldn’t blame Tommy for freezing as he reached the door. Diego knew that this had to be so difficult for him because the truth was that if it was Toni in there waiting to be identified then Diego wasn’t sure that he would have even managed to make it in through the door. How Tommy had managed to make it this far Diego really wasn’t sure but he was almost there and Diego knew that he needed to find a way to get him the rest of the way. His heart really did go out to Tommy, though, and even the fact that Tommy didn’t wrap his arms around him straight away didn’t stop Diego from holding him as he cried. He was so used to Tommy being the strong one, he had never seen him broken like this before and it was enough to make Diego’s heart break for him. “You can do this,” he breathed, reaching up and wiping Tommy’s tears away gently. “I know you can.”Hearing Tommy repeat those words almost like a mantra was enough to make a half smile touch Diego’s lips and he nodded in encouragement. “You’ve got this,” he repeated, knowing that he would keep saying it as many times as it took for Tommy to start believing it. Right now they had no idea whether the girl in there was Teo or not but there was only one way to find out and Diego shook his head as Tommy thanked him. “You have nothing to thank me for,” Diego assured him, just glad that Tommy had let him be there for him rather than trying to handle it on his own the way he tried to handle most things. They were a couple, they were meant to be there for each other and Diego knew that went both ways. Nodding as Tommy said he was ready, Diego ran his hand lightly down his boyfriend’s arm before Tommy took his hand and they headed into the room together. Diego stayed a little way back to give Tommy some room as he reached forward with his free hand and hesitated before finally pulling the sheet away and Diego’s eyes came to rest on the young woman’s face. It didn’t look like the girl from the photo Tommy had sent him but he knew that it could just be his eyes playing tricks on him because he was hoping so much that it wouldn’t be Teo. Hearing the sign that Tommy let out, though, Diego lifted his eyes to meet his boyfriend’s and his eyes widened as Tommy shook his head before turning to the coroner and saying that it wasn’t her. Diego was stunned for a moment but soon enough Tommy was turning back to him and repeating those words and that was enough to snap Diego out of it. “What happened to that poor girl is awful but I’m so glad it isn’t Teo,” he breathed before placing a hand on each of Tommy’s cheeks and kissing him gently. “You did so well baby, I’m so proud of you,” he said gently, knowing that it really couldn’t have been easy for him. “Come on, let’s get you out of here,” he added, knowing that Tommy probably wouldn’t want to have to spend any more time there than he had to now that he knew it wasn’t his sister. ━ it's so quiet here ━
Tomas had never felt so relieved before by the sight of a dead body. It looked like his sister, but there were a few things amiss. Those things stood out like a sore thumb. It filled his heart with so much relief, and it really felt like the weight of the world had been lifted from his already weakened shoulders. Tomas closed his eyes when Diego kissed him, his lips moving against his boyfriend's, returning the kiss. He placed his hands on Diego's waist, keeping his boyfriend close and when the kiss ended, he gave himself a moment to just rest his forehead against Diego's before he finally leaned back. "I wouldn't have been able to do it if it weren't for you." Tomas admitted, his voice soft. He glanced over at the deceased girl, hoping that they would be able to find her family, so they could say their last goodbyes to her.
"Please." Tomas' feet couldn't carry him out of there fast enough. He felt like he could finally breathe once he was outside the morgue. Tomas took a moment to gather himself and for once, his eyes didn't carry a hundred unshed tears in them. He looked relieved, now. Although, he still felt bad for that girl. She looked young.
"Let's go home." Tomas whispered, his hand still holding onto Diego's. "We're still heading over to your brother's, right?" At that moment, the urge to ask Diego to move in with him nearly consumed him whole. He wanted the younger to come and live with him. Or maybe they could find a new apartment together since Tomas' probably won't be big enough for two of them. "M'sorry for the dramatic turn of the night. You have enough on your plate already with Ethan and everything else... I just... couldn't do it without you." Tomas apologized, his voice was sincere. "All I could think about was you and how badly I wanted you here with me. I'm sorry you had to see me like that. I'm usually, uh... In control of my emotions, but I couldn't pretend, not with you. Not when it comes to Teo. I just couldn't."

Diego had never been in a relationship like this before, one where they each supported each other unconditionally, and there was a time when that might have scared him but the truth was that those days were long gone all thanks to Tommy. Now the only thing Diego was scared of was doing something to screw this up but he knew deep down that if they could get through this they could get through anything. The moment Tommy realised it wasn't Teo lying there the relief was evident on his face and while Diego's heart went out to the girl and her family he couldn't deny that he was so glad it wasn't Tommy's sister. Tommy had always seemed so strong and unbreakable but that day Diego had seen a different side of him. He knew that it would never change the way he looked at Tommy but if her was honest it was good to know that side of him existed and Diego was beyond glad that Tommy had known he could be vulnerable around him without having to worry about being judged for it. Kissing Tommy in a morgue wasn't something that Diego had ever thought he would do but in that moment he was pretty sure that Tommy needed it and the truth was that Diego needed it as well. He didn't protest as Tommy's hands found his waist, in fact he stepped a little closer as Tommy's lips moved against his in return and a half smile touched his lips as Tommy rested his forehead against his. "You would have because you're one of the strongest people I've ever met but thank you for trusting me with this and letting me be here for you," he said gently. Diego knew that it so easily could have gone the other way and turned out to be Teo lying there and the thought of Tommy finding that out alone was something that he didn't even want to think about. They were stronger together and Diego was glad that Tommy had let him be there for him whichever way it might have gone. If it had been Teo then Diego knew that it would have broken Tommy so he was so glad that it wasn't. Nodding as Tommy agreed to getting out of there, Diego kept Tommy's hand in his as they headed outside and any tension that might have remained washed away pretty much instantly the moment they were outside. As Tommy said they should go home, Diego lifted their joined hands and pressed a light kiss to his boyfriend's knuckles. "Only if you're up for it, we can go back to your place if you'd prefer," Diego said gently, certain that his brother and Ethan would understand. He had told them that he would stay and keep an eye on Ethan but after everything that had happened Tommy needed him too and Diego knew he wouldn't blame Tommy if he would rather sleep in his own bed that night. As Tommy started apologising, Diego's expression softened. "You have nothing to apologise for," he said, his tone laced with certainty as he spoke. "I told you the night we met that I wanted to help you find your sister and I meant it, I'm just glad you didn't try and face that on your own," Diego admitted, his eyes locked on Tommy's as he spoke and he brought his free hand up to let it rest against his boyfriend's cheek. "You never have to pretend with me, I hope you know that. It's okay to feel whatever you're feeling and you don't have to worry about showing it. You can be vulnerable with me as much as you need, you know I'll never judge you for it." Tommy had been there for him through everything and he knew about some of the things Diego had been through but it never made Tommy look at him any differently and Diego knew that there wasn't anything that would ever make him look at Tommy that way either. You would have because you're one of the strongest people I've ever met but thank you for trusting me with this and letting me be here for you,
Tomas's lips stretched to form a soft smile at Diego's words, feeling grateful for the fact that the younger seemed to believe in him. He probably believed in him more than Tomas did in himself. He gave Diego's hand a gentle squeeze as a silent 'thank you' for his words because they were everything he needed to hear. It was so new to him, feeling like someone knew him so well and believed in him when he was at his lowest point yet. "Of course. There's no one else I'd rather have with me at this moment other than you, Diego." Tomas admitted in a soft voice as he lifted Diego's hand to his lips, pressing soft kisses on his knuckles.
Only if you're up for it, we can go back to your place if you'd prefer, You have nothing to apologise for, I told you the night we met that I wanted to help you find your sister and I meant it, I'm just glad you didn't try and face that on your own,
"No, it's okay. I know that you want to keep an eye on Ethan. I wanna help with that, too." Tomas said with a quick nod of his head following. "I probably wouldn't have been able to go in there without you." Tomas admitted with a soft sigh falling from his lips, his eyes settling on Diego once again. "I love you. I love you so much, Diego." He really didn't think it would be possible for him to fall in love with Diego even more, up until this moment. God, he loved him so much.
You never have to pretend with me, I hope you know that. It's okay to feel whatever you're feeling and you don't have to worry about showing it. You can be vulnerable with me as much as you need, you know I'll never judge you for it.
"I know, baby. You don't have to pretend with me either, I hope you know that." Tomas pressed another gentle kiss to Diego's knuckles. "I'm so lucky I met you. You mean the world to me." He pressed another kiss to his knuckles. "I love you." Tomas repeated, his voice still soft. "Is it okay if I sit with you in your car? My friend from work will pick my car up for me, it won't be a problem. I just want to stay with you."

Tommy might not think that way now but Diego was certain that his boyfriend would have done the right thing and gone in there on his own if he'd had to but Diego was glad that it hadn't come to that. After seeing how upset Tommy was at just the idea of his sister being in there Diego didn't doubt that Tommy would have fallen apart if it had ended up being her and that was why he had known that he had needed to get over there as fast as he could. Tommy had done so much for him and he had been there for him through everything so Diego had known that he would never forgive himself for not doing the same for Tommy when he needed him the most. "That's good because even though I know you could have done this on your own I never want you to find yourself feeling like you have to. You're my partner and I'm here for you." Diego knew that Tommy had Nate as his partner while he was working but this was something completely different and as Tommy pressed kisses to his knuckles, Diego felt his heart leap. He really had never felt like this about anyone else before and he knew that he wanted to make sure that Tommy knew that he was all in. "You really are incredible, you know that?" Diego asked, a loving smile forming on his face as he looked over at Tommy. He couldn't believe that after everything that Tommy had just been through he still wanted to help keep an eye on Ethan, it just made him fall that much deeper for the man before him if that was even possible. Tommy was determined to still put others before himself it seemed but Diego knew that during the times he wasn't checking on Ethan that evening he was going to be putting Tommy first. Giving Tommy's hand a gentle squeeze as he said again that he wouldn't have been able to go in there without him, Diego drew Tommy in for a kiss as Tommy told him he loved him. "I love you too. So much," he said, his lips brushing against Tommy's as he spoke. He had never known what real love could feel like before but now he had found it he knew that he never wanted to let it go. "I do. Aside from my family you're the one person I can truly be myself with," he nodded. There were still things that they hadn't told each other about their pasts but they had all the time in the world for that right now. Tommy knew who he was now and Diego knew that he never had to try and hide anything from him so he was glad that Tommy knew it went both ways. "You mean the world to me too. I've never felt this way before and I don't think I would ever feel this way again. You're it for me," he said, leaning forward and stealing another kiss as Tommy repeated that he loved him. Tommy's next words were enough to have Diego's expression softening and he nodded. "Of course you can babe, let's get out of here," he said, opening the passenger's side door of his car so Tommy could climb in before climbing into the driver's side. Even as he drove them back to his place he kept Tommy's hand in his as much as he could and he brought the car to a stop on the drive. "You're sure you're okay with staying here tonight?" he asked, needing to give Tommy the chance to say if he'd changed his mind before they headed inside. TOMAS SILVA

━ it's so quiet here ━
That's good because even though I know you could have done this on your own I never want you to find yourself feeling like you have to. You're my partner and I'm here for you.
Tomas felt a soft smile form on his lips at Diego's words. "I really appreciate that. I have been dealing with this on my own for the longest time and it feels... amazing knowing that I can lean on you with this." Tomas revealed, his voice remaining soft as he spoke. "You really showed me what it's like to lean on someone and allow myself to let someone in." Tomas gave Diego's hand a gentle squeeze, thankful for the younger's existence in his life. "I'll always be here for you too, Diego. Always."
You really are incredible, you know that? I love you too. So much,
"I'm trying to take after you." Tomas said with a gentle smile on his lips, his eyes relaxing on his boyfriend, watching him quietly for a few moments. When Diego returned the confession, Tomas' heart positively skipped a beat. "I don't think I'll ever get used to hearing you say that. It makes me really happy." Tomas admitted with a soft chuckle falling from his lips.
I do. Aside from my family you're the one person I can truly be myself with, You mean the world to me too. I've never felt this way before and I don't think I would ever feel this way again. You're it for me, Of course you can babe, let's get out of here, You're sure you're okay with staying here tonight?
Tomas listened to the younger, happy to hear that he was on the list of people that Diego could really be himself with. "I'm happy to hear that, baby." He really was happy. The younger meant a lot to him, and he was really glad that Diego trusted him as much as he did. "I don't think I would ever feel this way for anyone else, either. You're it for me, baby." He had no doubt in his mind about that.
Tomas thanked his boyfriend for opening the door for him, and he was soon sitting inside. He pulled his phone out of his pocket to inform Han of the news and to also ask him if he could pick up his car for him. He placed his phone between his legs and looked over at Diego, his lips stretching to form a gentle smile. "I'm positive, baby." That was Tomas' answer when the younger asked him if he was sure that he was okay with staying with them at the Alvarez residence. "I'm happy as long as I'm with you, it doesn't matter where we are." He assured the younger not long after, his lips stretching to form a gentle smile. "So don't worry about it, okay?"

“I’m not surprised. You always try and take care of everyone else, it’s time you had someone take care of you for a change,” Diego said gently. He wasn’t sure that he was really the best person for that job since he’d made so many mistakes in his own life so far but he knew that he would try his best because he really did want it to feel like they were equal partners. Tommy had done so much for him during the time they had known each other and Diego knew that even if he could only give half of that back to Tommy then he would be doing pretty well. “You can lean on me about this and anything else, I’m not going anywhere,” Diego assured him. He had already made a promise to Tommy that he wasn’t going anywhere without him and he meant it. Being in a relationship like this really was a first for Diego, he was so used to being with the wrong people and trying to force himself to make it work that he hadn’t even realised that it could be like this. Being with Tommy was as easy as breathing. “I know you will be and I’m so glad about that,” he admitted gently. He had never had anyone like Tommy in his life before and he knew that he wasn’t going to take it for granted. He never liked feeling like a burden on anyone but Tommy had made it clear that he would be there for him and Diego knew that whenever he needed him then there was no way he was going to push him away. “Oh no, you’re much better than I am,” Diego chuckled although his words were completely serious. There were times when he had felt like Tommy was far too good for him but they loved each other and that meant the world to him. “Well you’re going to be hearing it a lot because I’m never going to get tired of saying it,” he grinned as he leaned forward and pressed a gentle kiss to his boyfriend’s lips. “It’s true. I dreaded telling anyone who I really am after what happened with my ex but you’ve accepted everything and you’re supernatural too which makes it that much better,” he admitted. Diego knew that there was a chance that Tommy might still choose to live a mortal lifetime and if he did then Diego knew that he would still stick by him no matter what. The thought of losing Tommy one day terrified him but the truth was that the thought of not being with him at all scared him that much more. Tommy’s next words were enough to have Diego’s expression softening and he let his hand rest lightly against his boyfriend’s cheek as their eyes met. “I’ll never know how I got this lucky but I can’t imagine being without you,” he said gently. He knew that it was true, he had been in some awful relationships in the past and they had caused him to shut himself off from everyone in the romantic sense. For a long time he hadn’t felt like he’d deserved to find happiness like his brother had but Tommy had showed him that he was wrong about that and he truly was grateful to him for that. Pulling the car onto the drive as they reached his brother’s home, Diego felt a smile form on his face as Tommy said that he was happy as long as he was with him. “I don’t think you could have given a better answer,” he grinned as he gave Tommy’s hand a gentle squeeze. “Alright, I won’t,” he added as Tommy told him not to worry about it. Climbing out of the car, he waited for Tommy to join him before taking his boyfriend’s hand in his once more and leading the way into the house. “Toni was ordering pizzas when I left, they’ll probably be here soon,” he said as they headed into the kitchen. “What would you like to drink?”TOMAS SILVA

Tomas's lips stretched to form a brief smile at Diego's words, finding them incredibly touching. The younger knew exactly what to say to make him feel so touched. Tomas had never given himself the chance to just feel things and to let someone in, so they could see him at his worst and not just his best. He thought he would be judged for it, or that they wouldn't think he was tough enough. But thankfully, he didn't have to worry about that with Diego. He knew that the younger would never judge him, just like how he was certain Diego knew he'd never judge him either, no matter what. "I will." Tomas assured the younger when he told him that he can lean on him about everything. "Oh, please. That's just not true. You are so, so much better than I am." Tomas insisted with a gentle smile on his lips. "You just don't see yourself the way that I see you." Tomas gave his boyfriend's hand a gentle kiss, right on the middle knuckle. "I can wax poetry about you all day long. About how wonderful you are and how lovable you are. You are also really, really adorable." Tomas said with a soft smile tugging on his lips as his eyes relaxed on his boyfriend as he said that, hoping that Diego could sense his sincerity. "And trust me, I will never, ever get tired of hearing you say it."
Tomas listened to the younger, his expression turning into a sympathetic one as he gave Diego's hand a gentle squeeze. "I'm really glad I'm supernatural, too. Plus, I can be immortal just like you, so we can spend a lifetime after the other next to each other." Would he ever get bored? Absolutely not. He'd never, ever get tired of spending time with Diego. "Hey, that's supposed to be my line." Tomas said with a smile forming on his lips, looking fifty shades of whipped for the younger. "I can't imagine being without you, either. I'm pretty sure I'll never, ever get used to living my life without you in it."
Tomas' lips stretched into a smile at Diego's words. "Well then, I'm glad I impressed you." He said with a brief chuckle falling from his lips, and it was probably the first time he's laughed tonight, and he wasn't surprised when it was because of Diego. Tomas leaned back on his seat and watched as Diego drove them to the Alvarez residence and once the car was parked, Tomas headed out and joined Diego. It really didn't take long for Diego's hand to be in Tomas' and he immediately gave it a gentle squeeze. "Oh. That sounds delicious."
"Uh, a beer would be good. Thanks." Tomas said with a quick nod of his head following as they entered the kitchen. "Do you, maybe, wanna cuddle for a bit while we wait for the pizza?"

Diego finally felt like he had found what his brother and Ethan had and he couldn’t deny that he was so happy about that. He had tried so many different relationships while he was trying to come to terms with who he was and he had felt sure that he would remain on his own. Tommy had helped him realise that it was okay to open his heart up again, though, and the guy had also showed him that not everyone was like his exes. Tommy was so much better than anyone that he had ever been with before and he would be lying if he said that the thought of Tommy eventually realising that he deserved better didn’t scare him but he knew that he just had to trust that Tommy wouldn’t do that to him and he did. He trusted Tommy more than he had ever trusted anyone outside of his family, he trusted him with his heart and that was something that he had never thought that he would ever be able to say. “Definitely not. You’re the most amazing guy I’ve ever met, you’re perfect and I know I’m lucky to have you,” Diego admitted. How he had ended up getting that lucky he would never know but he knew better than to take it for granted and he also knew that he didn’t want to do anything to screw it up. “I’d just embarrass myself if I tried it so you have me there but you’re pretty adorable yourself,” he chuckled. “Your eyes just wreck people.” Every time he found himself looking into his boyfriend’s eyes he found himself getting lost in them and he wouldn’t be surprised if it was the same for other people. “You’d better not,” he grinned as Tommy said that he would never get tired of hearing him say how much he loved him. Diego had never been able to say those words to anyone he was seeing before but he felt right to say them to Tommy and he knew that he would never get tired of it. “I love the sound of that so much,” Diego admitted as he gave Tommy’s hand a squeeze in return. “If that’s what you decide we can spend our eternity together but if not then I’ll stay with you anyway. I’m not going anywhere so there’s no pressure,” Diego assured him. He knew that it had to be Tommy’s choice either way and when he’d brought it up before Tommy had made it clear that he’d wanted to talk to Teo first. That was something that Diego could definitely understand and he knew that he would support Tommy’s decision regardless of which way it went. “Too late, I beat you to it,” he chuckled as Tommy said that was meant to be his line. “You won’t have to get used to it, you’re stuck with me,” Diego promised, knowing that he’d meant it when he’d said that he wasn’t going anywhere without Tommy. He had found his guy and he knew that he would hold onto him for as long as he could. Right now it sucked that they were living in different places but they spent as many nights together as they could anyway so they were making it work. “Of course you did, you always do,” he grinned as Tommy said that he was glad he’d impressed him. Tommy didn’t even need to try to impress him, he always managed it anyway and Diego was pretty sure that wasn’t going to change. Soon enough they were at home and Diego reached for Tomas’ as soon as they were out of the car. It was only a small point of connection but it was something that he liked to have as much as possible and he knew that it was the same for Tommy. “I asked Toni to order your favourite so I hope you’re hungry,” he said as they headed into the house. Normally they ended up spending the night at Tommy’s place so Diego wanted to make Tommy feel as at home as he could. “Coming right up,” he nodded as he pulled two beers out of the fridge, opened one and held it out to Tommy before opening the second and taking a sip of it himself. “Try and stop me, come on,” he said, taking Tommy’s free hand in his own and leading them through to the living room. The room was deserted so he didn’t hesitate in setting his beer down on the table before sitting down and pulling Tommy against him. “Are you doing okay babe?” he asked as he kissed Tommy’s head gently, hoping that the events of the day hadn’t taken too much of a toll on him. ━ it's so quiet here ━
Tomas' brows quirked up at Diego's words before he let out a soft chuckle. "Most amazing and perfect?" He repeated, unable to hide the fact that his cheeks were actually heating up a bit, having not expected such sincere comments from the younger. "Wow." Tomas breathed out with a soft chuckle falling from his lips. "I'm actually blushing." He lifted his hand up to his cheek, sensing just how warm it was under his hand. "You're making me fall harder for you, baby, and at this point, I really don't think it's possible to fall in love with you even more than I already do." Tomas admitted, his cheeks still feeling very warm. He didn't hate the feeling at all. "I'm really lucky to have you too, baby." Tomas laughed when Diego said his eyes wrecks people. "People? Or just you?" Tomas questioned with a grin resting on his lips.
"I don't know yet how to... not age anymore, but honestly, when I find Teo, I will discuss it with her and if she's an immortal herself, then it's pretty much decided for me already." Tomas had unknowingly stopped aging already but he had no way of knowing that yet. "But, no matter what my decision will be in the end, I'm pretty sure that I won't leave your side." Tomas assured the younger with a gentle smile resting on his lips.
"That's just unfair." He pointed his index finger at Diego when the younger told him that he had beaten him to it. "Wouldn't have it any other way." Tomas said with a grin forming on his lips already, feeling like a whole weight had lifted off his shoulders.
"Always?" Tomas repeated with a grin on his lips. "I didn't know I had so much power over you." He teased in a light-hearted voice. "Now I'm even more excited about that pizza. I appreciate it, baby." Was it a surprise that they knew each other's favorite orders already? Nope. "I definitely brought my appetite with me. Things have been hectic today at work, so I haven't had the chance to eat yet." He was hopeful that by the time the food arrives, his appetite will be back. "Thanks." Tomas thanked the younger when he handed him his drink, he lifted it to his lips to have a quick sip before he followed Diego into the living room, their hands clasped together.
Tomas sat down with Diego, leaning against him with a soft sigh falling from his lips as he allowed himself to sink into Diego's embrace, his eyes falling shut for a moment before they opened when he heard the younger's question. He released a soft hum in lieu of an answer at first before his lips parted, so he could speak. "I am now." Tomas admitted with a quick nod of his head following. "It still sucks what happened to that girl, but I'm... relieved she's not Teo." Tomas revealed in a soft voice, his hand resting on Diego's arm, his thumb tracing shapeless patterns against the flesh. "It means I haven't failed her yet." It means he can keep searching for her. "My, uh, dramas aside, how are you doing, baby? How was your day before all of this?"
