It had been a few weeks since he and Tomas had met and Diego had enjoyed every minute of it. He still felt bad about not accepting Tomas' suggestion that they go out on an actual date, he had wanted to but after what had happened with his ex he just didn't feel ready to start something new. Diego had half expected Tomas to grow tired of their arrangement, they had hooked up and that had changed everything. Diego knew that he liked Tomas, there had been a connection between them right from the start and the physical side of things was great but they had started really getting to know each other as well. Diego had kept his word, he had been showing the photo of Tomas' sister around on every call in the hope that someone would recognise her and there had been a couple of people who thought they had seen her but so far nothing had come of it yet although Diego still hoped that would change soon. For now he was doing his best to keep Tomas' spirits up and that day was no different. They sometimes saw each other at work while Diego was out on a call that needed a police presence and they weren't afraid to talk to each other and even flirt shamelessly at times but tonight was different. He knew that Tomas was going to be finishing his shift soon and they had already agreed that they were going to hang out that evening but they hadn't agreed what they were going to do. Some nights they just ended up spending time at Tomas' and Diego knew that they would probably end up there later but first he had something else in mind. Diego hadn't spent time like this with a guy since his last relationship came to an end and he couldn't deny that it felt good. He hadn't forgotten what his ex had done and he was pretty sure that he never would but for the first time since then he was happy. Deep down he knew that he was being selfish by saying that he wanted to keep things casual but it was still the best he could do right now even if his feelings for Tomas were growing stronger with each passing day. Diego knew that Tomas wasn't anything like his ex, he was an incredible guy and Diego really hoped that soon he would feel ready to start something real with him. Pulling into the parking lot of the police station, Diego parked the car and got out, leaning against the car as he waited for Tomas to appear. Catching sight of him was enough to have a smile forming on his face. "Hey," he said as Tomas made his way over. "I hope you don't mind me picking you up from work but I thought we could do something a little different tonight," he said, feeling his heart start to race a little as Tomas reached him the same way it always did when he was near. "There's a new Italian restaurant that just opened up in town that I've been wanting to try so I made us a reservation if you're up for it," he said, studying Tomas carefully as he tried to gauge his reaction. "If not then that's okay, we can do something else," he added quickly. TOMAS SILVA

━ baby, when you are falling ━
Tomas couldn't help the excitement that he felt about today. He'd been seeing Diego a few weeks now, and they were literally the best couple of weeks for Tomas. He really enjoyed having Diego close by. He enjoyed his company, the sound of his voice, the warmth of his touch, and the feeling of his soft lips against his own. It was honestly perfect. Did it make him a bit sad that they weren't dating? Yes. Does that mean he's going to push for a label on their relationship? Absolutely not. He wanted Diego to have full control over their relationship. He wanted him to have the final say in what they are. It's up to him if he wanted to meet again or if he didn't. It's up to him if he wanted to return Tomas' feelings or keep it casual. He wasn't going to push and protest, that was just unlike Tomas. It was so clear to Tomas that Diego had been hurt horribly before, so it would be best to give him full reign instead and let the other take control without feeling restricted.
So he kept it open. No labels. No restrictions but honestly? Tomas couldn't see anyone else on the side. Diego consumed all of him. He ruined him for everyone else, honestly. He was all that he could think about. Daily. They saw each other often while out on calls, and they flirted shamelessly whenever they saw each other, which was pretty nice. He got teased for it back at the station, but hey, it was worth it. Today, they're supposed to meet up but so far, they both had no plans which felt nice, too.
Tomas changed out of his uniform and bid his colleagues farewell before he headed out of the station, his eyes relaxing instantly on none other than Diego as a smile instantly formed on his lips. He began making his way over to him, his smile still on his lips. "Hey you." Tomas stood in front of him, his eyes scanning over Diego's features. Ugh. Swoon. "Oh, trust me. I don't mind at all. If anything, I could definitely get used to seeing such a beautiful sight the second I leave work." Tomas said with a grin forming on his lips already. "Different how? I'm all ears." Tomas questioned with a curious look forming on his face already. "Oh, Italian? That's pretty fun, sure." Tomas said with a quick nod of his head following. "No, no, it's okay. I don't have anything planned. Let's go try that out. I'm pretty hungry myself after stereotypically consuming a few donuts and coffees on my shift. I thought that sorta thing existed only in shows but apparently not." Tomas shook his head with a half-smile forming on his lips. He was definitely hungry, and honestly? He didn't care where they went as long as he was with Diego.
Corny, right?

Diego really couldn't remember a time when he had felt this happy. Ever since learning about his brother's relationship with Ethan and seeing the two of them together Diego had wanted nothing more than to find that for himself. His last relationship had ended in disaster, his ex had turned out to be a hunter and had tried to kill him, and his relationships before that hadn't all ended well either. He had dated a lot while he was working things out and he had tried to make it work each time but he had realised that none of them were the one and he had known that it wouldn't be right to drag things out. There were a few along the way that he had thought were different but none of them had ever made him feel the way that Tomas did. One look from him was enough to make Diego's heart race. The guy was incredible, he was perfect in every way, and Diego wanted nothing more than to give Tomas what he wanted. He hadn't felt ready to agree to a date after what had happened with his ex but he knew that he didn't want to lose Tomas either. He was so confused about it all right now but Tomas had promised to wait until he was ready and Diego knew that he just had to hope that Tomas wasn't going to end up changing his mind. It had only been a few weeks since they had met but Tomas meant the world to him and Diego knew that wasn't going to change. There was something about Tomas, something that set him apart from everyone else, and Diego couldn't quite put his finger on what it was. He knew deep down that it didn't really matter though, they hadn't known each other for very long and yet Diego already couldn't imagine his life without the other guy in it, nor did he want to. He was pretty sure that was literally the definition of being in love but that scared Diego. Opening his heart meant opening himself up to getting hurt again and while he trusted Tomas not to do that he had been wrong before and it had almost cost him his life. He hadn't thought that he would feel safe enough with anyone to let them get to know him like Tomas had done for a long time but Tomas had managed to slip past his defences and now he had found his way into Diego's heart the dragon wasn't so sure that he wanted him to leave. Diego might not feel ready to put a label on this but he knew that he wanted to make the most of their time together, he just hoped that Tomas wouldn't mind that he had gone ahead and made a reservation for them. Picking Tomas up from work wasn't something that he had ever done before and he was a little worried that Tomas might think he had overstepped but the smile that crossed Tomas' face when their eyes met was enough to make Diego's heart flutter. "Hey babe," he said, the word leaving his lips without him even realising as his hand rested against Tomas' cheek and Diego drew him in for a quick kiss. He wasn't sure what Tomas had told his colleagues about him if anything but he couldn't resist. As Tomas spoke, Diego felt a smile form on his face. "In that case I'll definitely have to meet you here more often," he grinned. "You should stop by the firehouse sometime, my brother does a lot of the cooking and he's really good. Can't have you surviving on just coffee and donuts while you're on shift," he chuckled, knowing that he wouldn't pass up the chance to see Tomas away from a call during work hours if he could. "For now this will have to do though, I've heard the food is great," he said before opening the passenger side door for Tomas so he could climb inside. TOMAS SILVA

━ baby, when you are falling ━
Hey babe,
Oh. Tomas' heartbeat stuttered at the pet name. He didn't protest about it in the slightest because he loved it too much to do that, honestly. God, he could definitely get used to hearing Diego calling him that. Tomas looked love struck, to say the least. "Hey, sweetheart." Tomas liked that pet name a little too much, and it undoubtedly made him quite happy. He closed his eyes when Diego leaned in for a kiss, instantly returning the kiss as his own hands moved to rest on his waist, bringing the other close.
In that case I'll definitely have to meet you here more often,
"Please do." Tomas responded with a smile already forming on his lips. "It'll make me love work even more." He added a moment later as he leaned forward to press a quick kiss on Diego's lips, just because he could and also before that pesky voice in his head told him to not do it because what if you're crossing some sort of boundary? But right now, he didn't want to focus on what if's. He wanted to focus on Diego.
You should stop by the firehouse sometime, my brother does a lot of the cooking and he's really good. Can't have you surviving on just coffee and donuts while you're on shift,
"Oh wow, really? Consider me tempted." Tomas felt a little flutter of hope in his chest when it implied that Diego wanted him to meet his family. The thought made him anxious though because what if Diego's brother doesn't approve of him? Of their casual relationship? What if he sees right through Tomas that he actually likes his brother? Tomas blinked out of his thoughts before he could worry himself with something that hasn't even happened. "You being worried 'bout me is really sweet." Tomas added a moment later with a soft smile tugging on his lips already. "I'll stop by. Can't miss out on well-cooked food." Tomas promised with a nod of his head following.
For now this will have to do though, I've heard the food is great,
"Well then, in this case, I can't wait to try it." Tomas thanked Diego for his gentlemanly action of opening the door for him. How adorable. He got into the car and instinctively reached for the seatbelt to insert it into the buckle. He looked over when Diego got in the car as well. The urge to reach over and hold his hand was strong, but Tomas behaved for the rest of the ride, just occasionally stealing glances at Diego because the other was far too beautiful for Tomas not to look at him. Once they arrived, Tomas got out of the car and looked at the exterior of the restaurant, murmuring a soft 'wow' under his breath. He waited for Diego to join him before they headed to enter the establishment. He held the door open for Diego so he could enter before following after him as well, the door closing gently behind them. "Ugh, the smell of food. So good." Tomas whispered as his stomach nearly grumbled from hunger. "I can already tell that you picked really well, Diego." He praised a moment later as he pulled back the chair for Diego upon arriving at their reserved table before he sat down as well. "The problem is... I don't know what to order." Tomas admitted with a chuckle falling from his lips as he flipped through the menu with a thoughtful look on his face.
"I could do with some Pasta, actually. Ehm... The .. Spaghetti A-Alla Carbonara?" Tomas' eyes squinted as he moved his eyes over the name a few times to make sure he was spelling it right. "You?"

Diego knew that picking Tomas up from work without asking him first was perhaps a dangerous thing to do but the truth was that he was so eager to see the guy that he just couldn’t wait. He had been thinking about Tomas a lot ever since the two of them first met and Diego had tried to fight it at first but he knew now that it was useless. Tomas seemed to have found a way past his defences and it was like he had already found a way into Diego’s heart. Deep down he knew that was exactly what had happened, he was falling for the guy so hard and he wanted nothing more than to give in to that and start something official with Tomas but he still wasn’t sure that he was ready so right now casual was the best that he could do and he knew that he was lucky that Tomas seemed happy to go along with it for the time being anyway. The pet name had slipped out of Diego’s mouth before he had even realised it and for a moment he wondered if perhaps that was a step too far but the look that Tomas was giving him told him otherwise. Diego had been telling himself constantly not to get too attached to Tomas in case things went badly but he was pretty sure that he couldn’t stop that from happening even if he tried. Tomas seemed to return what he’d said with ease, though, and that was enough to draw a smile to Diego’s face as he moved closer to Tomas when the guy’s hands found his waist. “You don’t mind me calling you that?” he asked as his lips brushed against Tomas’. He knew that it was probably a little strange considering he still wasn’t sure that he was ready to make this official but the name had slipped out and the truth was that it had felt right. As Tomas spoke again, Diego couldn’t help but laugh. “In that case I’ll definitely do this more often,” he chuckled, returning the kiss gently as Tomas instigated one this time. “Definitely. We get some down time between calls so it would be good to spend some of that with you,” Diego admitted. He knew that it would mean introducing Tomas to his brother and Ethan but the truth was that he was fine with that. A part of him knew that this wasn’t really fair on Tomas, he was expecting the guy to wait until he was ready to start something official because right now he wasn’t sure that he was after everything that had happened in the past but that didn’t stop his feelings towards Tomas from growing stronger with each passing day and if Tomas was feeling half of that himself then Diego knew that it couldn’t be easy. Snapping out of those thoughts as Tomas spoke again, Diego felt a smile cross his face once more. “I can’t help it,” he said gently. He really did care about Tomas and he knew that he wanted to make sure that the guy was taking care of himself. As he promised that he would stop by, Diego nodded. “I can’t wait.”Even though Diego had turned Tomas down when he had asked if they could start dating the truth was that this felt somewhat like a date anyway. He hadn’t realised it at the time, it had just seemed like something fun they could do together but Diego suddenly found himself hoping that it would go well. Climbing into the driver’s side once he’d closed the passenger’s door behind Tomas, Diego started the car and pulled out of the parking lot. Ever since meeting Tomas he’d felt at ease but now that they were actually heading to a restaurant he couldn’t help but feel a little nervous. He hadn’t done this since he’d arrived in town and he wasn’t sure how it was going to go but he knew that there was only one way to find out. The drive was a pleasant one and more than a few times Diego found himself sneaking glances at Tomas when he was sure that the guy wasn’t looking and occasionally he thought that he’d felt Tomas’ eyes on him as well but he wasn’t sure. Pulling up outside the restaurant, Diego climbed out of the car and thanked Tomas as he held the door open for him. “It is. It smells amazing,” he agreed, giving his name to the member of staff in the hallway before following them to their table. “I think so too. I’m glad we’re doing this,” he admitted before feeling a blush creep across his face as Tomas pulled his chair back for him. “Everything sounds so good,” he nodded as he glanced over the menu, his expression turning thoughtful for a moment as he did. “I like the sound of that, I might have the same,” he said before flipping to the drinks menu. “What would you like to drink?”TOMAS SILVA

━ baby, when you are falling ━
You don’t mind me calling you that? In that case I’ll definitely do this more often, Definitely. We get some down time between calls so it would be good to spend some of that with you,
Tomas shook his head at Diego's question with a soft smile forming on his lips already. "Of course not. It's cute, actually." He assured him with a quick nod of his head following. He didn't mind it in the slightest, honestly. If anything, it made his heartbeat flutter in the best way possible. "Good." Tomas said with a beaming grin on his lips when Diego told him that he'll absolutely do this more often. "I'll look forward to it." He added a moment later in a soft voice, and Tomas undoubtedly meant it. It made him a bit anxious, the thought of meeting Diego's family because he wanted them to see him as a good fit for Diego. He wanted to be perceived well by them, but he was also worried that he might say the wrong thing and screw it up. He was going to try his hardest to make the first impression a pretty good one. Not only that, but he was going to try everything he can to make them see that he wasn't going to hurt Diego. But right now, he didn't want to focus on that growing anxious feeling in his heart and instead wanted to focus on the current moment and on Diego. The man who consumed every last bit of his heart. "It would be good to spend some of it with you, too." He didn't want to sound too excited because he was worried it'd push him away, so he controlled his voice and kept his expression the same with the presence of a sincere smile on his lips. "We'll do that, then." He added a moment later with a promise lacing his voice. "I'll stop by whenever I have free time to do so." He promised once more, his smile still visible on his lips.
It is. It smells amazing, I think so too. I’m glad we’re doing this, Everything sounds so good, I like the sound of that, I might have the same, What would you like to drink?
Tomas nodded his head in his agreement when Diego noted that the restaurant smelled amazing. It really did. "Me too, sweetheart." Tomas said in a soft voice, unable to shake off how it really felt like a date. God. It was really messing up his head, wasn't it? It couldn't be a date because Diego wasn't ready yet, but how else would you call this? A friendly hangout? He really had no label for it, so he left it without one and focused on Diego instead. "Uhhh." Tomas thought about it for a moment before he shrugged his shoulders. "Screw it, I'll have red wine. You?" Tomas decided, after glancing at the menu one last time before making his mind up. "We're in a really nice restaurant, why not go all the way out, right?"

“So is you calling me sweetheart,” Diego said, a wide smile forming on his face as he looked over at Tomas. No one had ever called him that before, in fact no one had ever called him any pet name before, and he wasn’t used to using one for anyone either but it had slipped out of his mouth before he had realised and the truth was that he didn’t regret it one bit. Diego still felt guilty about the fact that he’d said that he wasn’t ready to date, here he was about to ask Tomas out on what was pretty much a date in all but name and yet he still wasn’t ready to make this official. He knew that it was crazy because the truth was that he really did like Tomas, he was pretty sure that he was falling for him in fact, but his ex had really done a number on him and he couldn’t bring himself to take that plunge just yet even with someone as perfect as Tomas. Diego knew that it wasn’t fair on the other guy at all but Tomas seemed content to let him have the time he needed and Diego really was grateful to him for that. “Same here although I’m not sure what your colleagues will make of it,” he admitted, waving to a couple of them who were looking over in their direction with expressions he couldn’t quite read. Diego wasn’t sure what Tomas had told them about him if anything at all but he had a feeling that there might be a few questions asked tomorrow. In all fairness he’d had some questions to answer himself after the first night he’d stayed over at Tomas’ place and Diego knew that his family was eager to meet the guy that he had been spending so much time with. That and the fact that he wanted to see Diego more was why he had invited the guy over to the firehouse and his smile widened as Tomas said that it would be good to spend some time with him as well. “Looks like that’s sorted then, I’m looking forward to it,” he said sincerely. He could never seem to get enough of spending time with Tomas and seeing him in the middle of a shift was sure to make even his worst day better. Hearing Tomas call him sweetheart again was enough to make Diego’s heart skip a beat and those feelings of guilt decided to choose that moment to rear their ugly head again. He knew that he needed to get over his fear and do right by Tomas and he wanted to more than anything, the problem was that was much easier said than done. Needless to say focusing on the menu was a welcome distraction for a moment and Diego’s expression turned thoughtful for a moment as Tomas said that he would have red wine. “I think I’ll have the same, shall we go for a bottle?” he asked, waiting for Tomas’ response before flagging down a waiter and placing their order. Once that was done he turned his attention back to Tomas. “So how was work? Any more leads on Teodora?” he asked, not sure whether Tomas had had anything more since they’d last seen each other. Diego was still making sure to show her photo on every call he went on and the others he worked with were doing the same. They’d unearthed a few leads so far but nothing solid and he wanted Tomas to finally be able to find his sister more than anything. TOMAS SILVA

So is you calling me sweetheart, Same here although I’m not sure what your colleagues will make of it, Looks like that’s sorted then, I’m looking forward to it,
Tomas felt a soft smile form on his lips at Diego's words. "Well then, it seems like I'll have no choice but to call you that again." He added a moment later, pretending that he really had no choice in the matter, but honestly, the pet name slipped from his lips with so much ease, and he felt no regret for it. A part of him wanted to hear Diego call him that again and again. It was definitely the start of a new obsession of his. Tomas quirked an eyebrow at Diego's words before he looked over his shoulder to see what Diego was referring to before he whispered a soft 'oh' when he saw a few of his colleagues looking their way, murmuring something to each other that Tomas couldn't make out. He'd been acting weird ever since he met Diego, and no one noticed it more than his colleagues. Especially his partner, Nate. Tomas worried that they'd rat him out and tell Diego just how whipped he was already. "Oh, c'mon. They'll love you." Tomas said as his eyes relaxed on Diego, lips stretching to form a smile. Like I'm starting to fall for you. "It's pretty hard not to." Tomas added a moment later, wanting to keep the mood as light as possible. "Plus, they just love gossip. That's why they're looking. It's nothin' to worry about." Tomas added a moment later with a quick nod of his head following. "Okay, perfect. I'm looking forward to it, too."
I think I’ll have the same, shall we go for a bottle? So how was work? Any more leads on Teodora?
Tomas nodded his head almost instantly at Diego's question. "Sure, yeah. Bottle sounds great." He offered a verbal answer as well, his voice remaining soft. His brows lifted slightly when Diego asked about his sister and whether he had any more leads on her. Tomas pressed his lips together before he offered a head shake in lieu of a verbal answer at first before his lips parted to speak up. "No, not yet. I'm starting to get a few calls about people who think they've seen someone with her features in town, thanks to you." Tomas really appreciated Diego's help with the matter, knowing that Diego was taking every opportunity to show the picture of his sister. It helped spread awareness to the townspeople. "The Latest lead was them seeing her enter a navy van not too far from the Vet Clinic." Tomas revealed with a quick nod of his head following, his leg bouncing slightly under the table. "I checked the cameras at the Clinic, and it did show the van and a figure entering it, but it was too dark to pick out who, so I'm looking into this van to see if I can find it anywhere else. It's not a big lead, but it's something." It was better than nothing at all. At least that gave him the hope that she was alive. "Enough about that, though." He didn't want to ruin the mood with all the serious talks and everything else. "How are things on your end? Everything going okay?" He wanted to ask about Diego's ex, but he knew that the question might come out as insensitive, so he held back from doing so.

“I think you should,” Diego said, a smile crossing his face as his eyes met Tomas’. It was crazy just how much he had come to care about the guy in such a short space of time and if he was honest it was actually a little scary. The last time he had let himself get involved with someone it had ended so badly but he kept reminding himself that Tomas was nothing like his ex. He was kind and gentle in ways that the other guy never had been and he made Diego feel safe. He’d always had a habit of going for the bad boys in the past and his taste in women had never been that much better while he was figuring out who he was but this time he felt like he’d finally managed to find a decent guy for the first time in his life and he knew that he didn’t want to do anything to end up ruining what they had. A part of him had worried that Tomas might not have wanted his colleagues to see the two of them together like this but he didn’t seem to mind one bit and Diego couldn’t deny that he was glad about that. “Is that so?” he asked as Tomas said that the people he worked with would love him because it was hard not to, his smile turning to a grin as he looked over at Tomas in amusement. “As long as you’re sure,” Diego said, knowing that the last thing he wanted was to make things awkward for Tomas although that worry soon faded as Tomas spoke again and Diego’s smile returned. Diego knew that he needed to keep up appearances and pretend that he was human which meant that he wouldn’t be able to drink too much and still be able to drive otherwise they would have to walk and he’d have to pick up his car in the morning but either way he had a feeling that it would be fine. Nodding as Tomas agreed to a bottle, Diego placed their orders before turning his attention back to his companion. Diego’s heart had gone out to him the moment he’d mentioned that his sister was missing and he’d been keeping his word and showing her photo around to as many people as he could while he was out on calls. Antonio and some of the others from the firehouse had been doing the same and he’d hoped that something had come of it but it didn’t sound like too much had happened yet and Diego couldn’t help but feel bad about that. “I haven’t been doing much, I wish I could do more,” he admitted. Tomas was so worried about his sister and Diego hated seeing him like that so he knew that he would do whatever he had to in order to help him. As Tomas explained about the van, Diego’s expression turned thoughtful for a moment. “Do you have a licence plate number or make and model? I can keep an eye out for it while I’m around town,” he offered, knowing that it might not be much help but it had to be better than nothing. As Tomas asked if everything was okay on his end, Diego nodded. “So far so good I think although I have to admit I’m enjoying spending nights at your place,” he admitted. He wasn’t there all the time but it definitely made him feel better being able to wake up next to Tomas in the morning. “Thank you for being so patient with me,” he added gently. “It really means a lot.”TOMAS SILVA

━ baby, when you are falling ━
Is that so? As long as you’re sure,
Tomas cleared his throat and nodded his head a few times, hoping that his flush wasn't visible on his cheeks. He just felt a bit warm. "Yeah, yeah, that's it." He said before nodding his head again, already starting to get a bit dizzy from all the nodding he was doing. He looked away from his colleagues when one of them gave him a wink and two thumbs up. Please don't come over, please don't come over. He didn't want them ratting him out to Diego. Didn't want the other to know just how much he affected him. He was pretty relieved when he glanced at them one more time to see them heading to their own trucks instead, not before giving him a quick eyebrow wriggle. Oh, boy. He was definitely not going to hear the end of it next shift, huh?
I haven’t been doing much, I wish I could do more, Do you have a licence plate number or make and model? I can keep an eye out for it while I’m around town,
"Sweetheart, you've done more than enough." Tomas said almost too quickly before he realized that the pet name had slipped from his lips. "Thanks to you, I'm receiving calls from people who want to help or have seen someone that match Teo's description around town. It's not a solid lead, but it's something. I wouldn't have been able to do any of that without your help, really." Tomas assured him with a soft smile forming on his lips. "So don't say that you haven't been doing much. You've been doing plenty." He didn't like that Diego was doubting himself and how helpful he was to Tomas. He wanted to reassure him again and again that if it weren't for him, he wouldn't have been able to find that latest lead with his sister. "Oh. I'd really appreciate that. Thanks, Diego. From what I saw, it looked like a Volkswagen crafter. I couldn't see the license plate, though. Too far away." Tomas revealed with a quick nod of his head. "I've been looking into the crafters in town, and it doesn't seem like there's a lot of them, so that's good. Makes it a bit easier for me to be able to track her down, if it really was her."
So far so good I think although I have to admit I’m enjoying spending nights at your place, Thank you for being so patient with me, It really means a lot.
Tomas' lips stretched to form a soft smile when Diego told him that he enjoyed spending nights at his place. "I like it when you spend the night at my place, too." Tomas revealed all too quickly. "Of course. You don't have to thank me for that. I told you, Diego. You're worth waiting for." Tomas said with a soft smile tugging on his lips. "I'm willing to wait for you. No matter how long that takes. So, don't worry about me, and focus on yourself and focus on healing. Don't feel guilty, okay? I know it's easier said than done, but I wouldn't have offered to wait if I wasn't actually ready to wait for you."

Diego couldn’t deny that his heart had skipped a beat when Tomas had said that it was hard not to love him. For such a long time he had thought that he might never find the right person and now here he was spending time with someone who was literally perfect in every way. Diego wanted nothing more than to just throw caution to the wind and ask Tomas to be his boyfriend but every time he thought about it he remembered that last night with his ex and the look in the guy’s eyes when he’d attacked. Diego had thought that he’d found someone special then and he had been proved wrong, he still wasn’t quite ready to take that plunge again even though he wanted to. He had meant it when he’d said that he was worried about Tomas becoming a target for his ex as well and Diego knew that he would do everything in his power to stop that from happening. For a moment he worried that Tomas’ colleagues might come over and start asking them questions but thankfully they kept their distance which gave the two of them the chance to escape. As the pet name escaped Tomas’ lips once more, Diego felt his heart leap. Tomas’ words were reassuring but Diego still felt a little bad. “It’ll be enough when we find her,” he said gently. Diego knew that she had been gone for a long time but Tomas hadn’t lost hope and Diego refused to either. He knew that Tomas wouldn’t stop until he found them if it was a member of Diego’s family who was missing so he was determined to do the same for Tomas. The guy had been trying to do this on his own for such a long time but he didn’t have to now and Diego hoped he knew that. As Tomas told him what make the van was, Diego’s expression turned thoughtful for a moment. “I might be wrong but I think I saw a van like that parked outside an abandoned house on the outskirts of town a few days ago. I thought maybe it was the owner of the house wanting to do it up and either sell it or rent it out but I couldn’t see anyone when we drove by,” he explained. He knew that it might be another dead end but he wasn’t going to stop trying. “I’ll keep an eye out for the van and I’ll get the others to do the same.” The more people looking out for anything that might be connected to Tomas’ sister the better as far as he was concerned. “In that case I might have to spend the night more often,” Diego said, a smile forming on his face as he looked over at Tomas. That first night he had worried about overstepping but Tomas had assured him that he hadn’t done so ever since then Diego hadn’t been afraid to stay the night. They had a lot of fun together and if he was honest going out for a meal like this was nice as well. It was the first time that they had done it but Diego was glad that he had asked Tomas to go with him. As Tomas spoke again, Diego’s eyes searched his for a moment. “I know you wouldn’t, I’m just waiting for you to wake up and realise you deserve better than to be with someone who isn’t ready to give you everything you deserve and love you the way you should be loved.” There wasn’t a day that went by when he didn’t think that Tomas would realise that sooner or later but it made Diego cherish their time together that much more. ━ baby, when you are falling ━
It’ll be enough when we find her, I might be wrong but I think I saw a van like that parked outside an abandoned house on the outskirts of town a few days ago. I thought maybe it was the owner of the house wanting to do it up and either sell it or rent it out but I couldn’t see anyone when we drove by, I’ll keep an eye out for the van and I’ll get the others to do the same.
When. Not if, but when. Such a simple choice of wording affected Tomas in such a positive way, as his smile grew. It meant a lot to Tomas that Diego believed he'll be able to track down his sister and reunite with her after so long. Tomas' eyes widened slightly when Diego informed him that he saw a van like that parked outside an abandoned house on the outskirts of town. "Really?" His heart thundered in his chest at the thought of finding his sister. "That's odd." Tomas' brows furrowed as he stifled the hope that he felt. He didn't want to get his hopes up because nothing hurt more than having his hopes rushed. "We can definitely look into that. I'll see what I can do from my end, too." He'll undoubtedly report that back to his partner, and they can check it out together tomorrow morning. "Thank you, Diego. That really means a lot to me." Tomas said when Diego told him that he'll keep an eye out for the van. "Let's hope that this nightmare will end soon." God, how badly he wanted it to end.
In that case I might have to spend the night more often, I know you wouldn’t, I’m just waiting for you to wake up and realise you deserve better than to be with someone who isn’t ready to give you everything you deserve and love you the way you should be loved.
"Oh, please do. I'll make it worth your while." Tomas said with a teasing smile forming on his lips already. He was quiet as he listened to Diego before he reached his hand to gently let it rest on top of Diego's, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Hey," Tomas spoke up to get his attention. "I don't want anyone else." He said with conviction, his eyes still focused on him. "And that won't happen. I promise." It was a big promise to make since he might wind up waiting for years, but you know what? It was a promise he was more than willing to keep. "So don't say something like that because it won't happen. I won't let it happen."

There wasn’t a doubt in his mind that Tomas would find his sister, Diego was pretty sure that the guy could do just about anything if he put his mind to it. He had seen how determined Tomas was to find Teo the day they met and the guy hadn’t stopped looking since then. Diego knew that there was a chance that he might not end up getting the result he wanted and find her alive given that she had been missing for a while now but he refused to think that way. Tomas deserved a happy ending and Diego knew that he would do everything he could in order to make that happen for him. The moment Tomas mentioned the van it rang a bell with Diego and he knew that he might end up being a dead end but at this point any lead was better than nothing so he knew that he had to speak up. “That’s what I thought,” he nodded as Tomas said that it was odd. Diego didn’t want to end up giving him false hope in case it turned out to be nothing but Tomas had the resources to look into it properly while Diego didn’t so he knew that it had to be worth a shot. “It might turn out to be nothing but it won’t hurt to check,” he offered. He hoped that it would turn up something useful but only time would tell. “You don’t need to thank me, it’s the least I can do,” he assured him. “Besides, you always spend so much time looking out for everyone else so it’s about time you have someone do that for you for a change.” Tomas had been so great ever since the day they met, he had been so kind and so patient and Diego was grateful to him for that. He always put everyone else’s needs before his own and Diego knew that it was about time that Tomas had someone do that for him for a change. Tomas’ next words were enough to draw a smile to Diego’s face. “With an offer like that, how can I say resist?” he asked, a playful look in his eyes as he looked over at Tomas. It really was scary just how much Tomas affected him and it had been that way ever since they met. He was exactly the guy that Diego could see himself having a future with and yet he still kept on letting his insecurities and the things that he had been through in the past get in the way of that. He knew that it wasn’t fair on Tomas, he deserved so much better and Diego was reminded of that each and every day and yet still the guy stayed. Tomas didn’t seem to want to give up on him and Diego couldn’t bring himself to give up either. With each passing day his feelings for the guy were becoming that much more intense and it was becoming that much more difficult to deny it. Looking down at their hands as Tomas covered Diego’s hand with his own, Diego let Tomas’ words wash over him for a moment before he finally lifted his gaze and let his eyes meet Tomas’. “I may not understand why you’d do that but I believe you,” he said at last, lifting their joined hands and pressing a gentle kiss to Tomas’ knuckles not caring what anyone around them might think. “Being with you feels so right.”TOMAS SILVA

━ baby, when you are falling ━
That’s what I thought, It might turn out to be nothing but it won’t hurt to check, You don’t need to thank me, it’s the least I can do, Besides, you always spend so much time looking out for everyone else so it’s about time you have someone do that for you for a change.
Tomas nodded his head slowly, knowing better than to get his hopes up, especially for something like this. He didn't want to be disappointed later on. "You're right. It might end up being nothing, but it's worth a try." Tomas said with a shrug of his shoulders following. He was trying his hardest not to get his hopes up because it was just a recipe for disappointment later on if it does turn out to be not related to his sister. Tomas' eyes softened at Diego's words, his lips stretching to form a soft smile. "Thank you, Diego. I appreciate that. A lot." Tomas was never the type to complain out loud or speak up whenever something was bothering him. It was always a lot easier to just reply with a 'I'm okay' instead, but maybe being with Diego was going to teach him that it's okay to put himself first, too.
With an offer like that, how can I say resist? I may not understand why you’d do that but I believe you, Being with you feels so right.
Tomas' lips stretched into a playful grin when Diego told him that he can't resist his offer. "Oh, that's exactly what I wanted to hear." He said with his grin still locked on his lips. He gave Diego's hand a gentle squeeze when the other gave his knuckles a kiss. God, such a romantic move that made his heart do a flip. God, what are you doing to me? Tomas looked at Diego for a moment, trying his hardest to talk himself down from leaning over the table and kissing Diego, but he failed to do so and instead let go of Diego's hand, so he could stand up and leaned over the table, so he could press his lips against Diego's. It was a move that required a lot of courage from his end as they were in public, but he soon found out that he didn't care and instead just kissed Diego for a few moments before leaning back from the kiss. He sat down not long after with a content smile on his lips. "Being with you feels so right, too." He said in a soft voice, and sat down when he saw the waitress come to their table with food and the chilled bottle of wine. He said a soft 'thank you' as he watched the waitress pour them both a drink. Once they were left to their devices, he took it upon himself to start eating, though not before picking the pork pieces to put it on Diego's plate, wanting the other to eat well. He enjoyed a sip or two from his wine sporadically and seemed to slow down with his eating once he started feeling full. "This is really delicious. I'm glad you took me here, Diego." Tomas said with a soft smile forming on his lips. God, it really did feel like a date.

Diego knew that he could easily be getting Tomas’ hopes up but he honestly hoped that he wasn’t. How Tomas was holding it together so well he had absolutely no idea, Diego knew that if it was Ant who was missing then he would be an absolute mess. Tomas seemed to be handling it so well and and Diego honestly hoped that it would end up working out for him. He had been through so much while he had been searching for his sister and Diego knew that he wanted the guy’s story to have a happy ending, it had to. “Even if this lead doesn’t pan out I know you’ll find her, I refuse to stop believing that,” Diego said gently. Tomas was so determined to find his sister and he really was good at what he did so he knew that it had to be just a matter of time before Teo turned up. “You don’t need to thank me. I want to be that person for you, if you’ll let me,” Diego assured him. He knew that he didn’t want Tomas to feel like he had to hold anything back, he might have to put on a front for everyone else but not him and Diego hoped he knew that. “Keep this up and you’ll never get rid of me,” Diego said, a playful smile forming on his face as he looked over at Tomas. Diego really was the happiest he had ever been right now and he knew that he didn’t want that to change. Kissing Tomas’ knuckles was an intimate gesture and it was one that Diego wouldn’t have even dreamed of making when they first started seeing each other but he couldn’t help it. Tomas was making him feel things that he never had before, he had dated a lot while he was figuring things out and he had hooked up with others but even with his ex he had never felt a fraction of what he felt towards Tomas and he had liked his ex enough to tell him that he was a dragon. That had proved to be a big mistake but Diego honestly hoped that things would turn out differently this time. He hadn’t expected Tomas to lean across the table and kiss him but before Diego knew it he was out of his seat as well, his hand finding Tomas’ cheek as he kissed him back. “Kissing me in public, I like it,” he admitted, a smile forming on his face as they both sat back down. As Tomas said that it felt right with him too, Diego felt his heart skip a beat. He knew that he was in dangerous territory, he was pretty sure that he was falling for Tomas and even though he’d said that he wasn’t ready to date this very much felt like one and the truth was that Diego didn’t mind, in fact he was really enjoying himself. Soon enough a waitress brought over their food and Diego started eating, sipping his wine every so often between mouthfuls. “I am too, we should definitely do this again.”TOMAS SILVA
