| C aroline hummed a tune as she bounced her head along with the music playing in the background. It definitely lightened up the mood and helped her work a lot quicker with cooking. She was pretty pleased with herself for being able to cook something decent like this. She had always been a good cook just like her mom, too. She had always liked watching her mom cook in the kitchen. There was just something so serene about it. So calming. Caroline had her hair tied back so she could work without risking any hair winding up in her food. She wasn't exactly making this meal just for her. She was making it for Declan, too. She had invited him over to eat dinner with her as a little date since her mom was at work which gave her the house all too herself to do as she pleased with it. She sang along with Ariana Grande, even attempting her own high note which resulted in a voice crack which made her raise her hand up to her throat to caress it. She shook her head and went back to cooking, not letting it get to her. She was a decent singer but not on Ariana Grande's level, honestly. Caroline was wearing a black dress with red patterns in it. She was currently wearing high heels which also didn't seem to annoy her in the slightest. Caroline placed the food in the oven while humming a tune under her breath. Caroline headed off to the fridge to prepare something for them to drink and shortly after, she was setting up the table, lighting up the candles there because she knew that Declan would be coming soon. They lived next door, anyway. By the time the Lasagna was done, there was a knock at the door. "Coming!" She called out from where she was in the kitchen and reached for the oven mittens to pull the food out of the oven to place it on her table. She placed the mittens down before she moved it behind her head to untie her hair, letting the blonde curls fall on her shoulders. She reached the door with her vampire speed and opened the door not long after, grinning when her eyes settled on her boyfriend. "Hi, baby." Caroline greeted in a soft voice before she leaned in to greet him with a quick kiss before she stepped aside. "Come in, come in! The food's all done, so you arrived just in the time." Caroline said with a grin resting on her lips, her hand moving up to curl a strand of hair behind her ear. "How was your day?" |

It had been months since Dec, Care, Amy and Jesse were taken and experimented on by the Dread Doctors and ever since then they had all been trying to get used to the way their lives were now. If it had only been one of them then he knew that it would have been much more difficult to figure out but as it was they were all going through the same thing and it was easier knowing that they could lean on each other when they needed to. Dec had known about the supernatural world for a long time but it had ended up taking a turn that even he hadn’t expected but they were getting through it and things seemed to be getting back to normal somewhat and for that he was grateful. Dec had always known that he hadn’t wanted what he was to dictate his whole life and between school, his family, friends and his relationship with Caroline he knew that he was incredibly lucky. That day Caroline’s mom was working so she had invited Dec over for dinner. They had been together ever since their senior prom and now a year and a half later they were still going strong. He had been in love with Caroline for as long as he could remember but he had never thought that she would ever feel the same. As it was, though, she had fallen for him a long time ago as well and Dec knew that he wouldn’t have it any other way. She was his girlfriend as well as his best friend and he loved spending as much time with her as he could. They both had things to keep them busy but they always made time for each other no matter what happened. Their first date had been perfect, they had gone ice skating and had admitted that they were in love with each other and things had been going well for them even with everything that they’d had to face. Getting changed, Dec picked up the flowers he had bought for Caroline and headed over to her place. They lived next door to each other so he reached the front door of her house in no time at all and he knocked on the door, a smile forming on his face as Caroline called out to him to let him know that she was on her way. He could already smell the mean that she had been cooking and he knew that she had gone all out for the meal which really meant the world to him. “Hi babe,” he said, his hand falling to her waist as he kissed her back before stepping into the house. “It smells amazing,” he said before holding the flowers out to her. “These are for you,” he said, hoping that she would like them. “It was pretty good, I managed to get some things one in town and then spent some time with Julian. How about yours?”CAROLINE FORBES

Caroline let out a soft hum against Declan's lips when he kissed her back. She was soon pulling away though, just so that she could step aside and welcome him into her home. She watched him with visible tenderness in her gaze as she looked over at the dining table and the feast currently resting upon it. "Thank you." She replied sweetly when Declan told her that the food smelled amazing. "Hopefully the taste will be just as amazing." Caroline added a moment later with a teasing half-smile resting on her lips.
Caroline's eyes rested upon the flowers that Declan held out for her to take. "Thank you." She reached out to grasp the bouquet, bringing it close to her nose so she could take a whiff of it. "That's so sweet, baby. Thanks." Caroline said a moment later with a gentle smile resting on her lips. "That's great!" She grinned as she moved to the kitchen to get herself a vase and fill it with water so she could put the flowers in it. The last thing she needed was for them to wither.
"Well, I spent most of mine cooking and cleaning. But I did get some things done on the side too, so today has been pretty productive for me." Caroline said with a quick nod of her head following. She propped the vase on the coffee table in the living room before she headed over to the dining room so she could claim her seat. "But I can already tell that today's gonna get even better now that you're here, too." Caroline said in a sweet voice, her eyes focused solely on Declan as her lips stretched to form a soft smile.

College had a habit of keeping them both busy but Dec and Care had still always done their best to make sure that they were able to spend time together. It had taken them what felt like a long time to get together and Dec had known that after all that they weren’t going to let anything come between them. Not all relationships that started in high school lasted through college but Dec was confident that theirs would and he couldn’t deny that he was happy about that. He loved Caroline and he knew that she loved him just as much. They had been through something awful together but instead of driving them apart it had just brought them closer together and Dec knew that he wouldn’t have it any other way. That day Caroline had invited him over and Dec couldn’t deny that he had been looking forward to it all day. He’d had some free time on his hands earlier and he’d managed to make the most of it but now he was looking forward to being able to spend some time with the girl he loved. “I’m sure it will, I can see you’ve gone all out on this and you can do anything when you put your mind to it.” That was something that he had learned about Caroline a long time ago and it was something that had never changed. Caroline had never been the kind of person to let anything get the better of her and that was something that he had always admired about her. “You’re welcome,” he said with a smile as Caroline thanked him for the flowers. “I never like to show up empty handed,” he added. That was something that his mom had taught him a long time ago and it had stayed with him. “It sounds like you’ve had a pretty good day as well,” he admitted as they headed into the dining room. “Good answer,” he added with a grin as Caroline said that they day was going to get better now that he was there too. “Do you have any plans for the weekend?” he asked, knowing that if the answer was no then with any luck they might be able to spend it together.
