━ What if I see you again? What if I DON'T? ━
RAVEN SHOULDN'T KEEP DOING THIS, she knew that much, at the very least. But there was still something within her that made her want to look at her. Someone else would have worried about the possibility of looking like a creep. Someone else would have kept their distance so they wouldn't think they were some sort of pervert that did not know what "keep your distance" meant. She didn't really give a shit about those things because she was simply not human. She didn't really have any morals. Didn't have any restrictions that humans have since they were always so emotional and gave a shit about those things. She didn't mind that people were staring at her as they left the hospital. Didn't care that they thought she was creepy for standing there, looking at Talia as she worked. She didn't really seem to have any intentions of going up to talk to her despite being bold and careless in regards of those things.
Raven looked at her with her head slightly tilted to the side, watching her. There was something new about Talia. A glow that surrounded her. Something that was simply holy. Because while Talia glowed so brightly, Raven was the exact opposite. She was dark and unholy. A demon was nothing but an unholy creature that did not want anything but destruction. That did not feed off of good deeds, so why? Why did she save that baby when she saw it. Why did she save Talia over and over again from harm's way? As a demon, she was stripped from her emotions. They were tortured out of her for years and years in Hell. It almost felt like an eternity down there, but it was just a couple of years. Seeing Talia wounded and bleeding out on the ground reminded her of herself.
There was a time where she was human, too. Where she was beaten and left in an alleyway. That time, she thought she was simply seconds away from dying. From reaching whatever "peace" she'd find on the other side. She had heard so many stories about what happens after death, but she never really believed in any of that shit. Until she got a one-way ride down to Hell and that was when she realized that those places existed. Down there, she imagined what it would look like in Heaven. She grew furious at God's judgment. For deeming her unfit for Heaven when all he had done was put her through so much shit. Was he not the one who wrote her "fate" out? Why did he decide to make her a villain of her own story? Why did he make her suffer?
Either he had a shit humor or he was just a fucking bad writer. For a long time, she thought there was no "good" left in her until she started saving Talia from those shitty situations she'd often find herself in. She'd killed her disgusting parents, she had given her money to survive, she had saved her again and again. All of those things never should've happened. Never. But they did and there was no use taking them back. Her eyes drifted from Talia to look at the holy presence surrounding her which made her meat suit's heart tighten. "You feel that too, huh?" She whispered under her breath, her hand lifting to settle on her heart. It had been a while since she'd felt those "things". Things being emotions. It was... weird.
Raven realized she had been staring for too long and the second she felt Talia's eyes on her, she took a step back and started making her way out of the hospital, putting some distance between the two of them again. The distance she had always purposefully placed between the two of them.

Talia often heard people talking about how they were lucky to be alive and sometimes they were right but in her case she knew that she was definitely lucky in that respect. More than a few times over the years she should have died but each time she seemed to have had a guardian angel looking out for her who had arrived just in time to save her. The woman had found her after the car crash that had killed her mom on impact and taken her dad from her on the way to the hospital and the same woman had been there for her after the leader of the gang she had found herself involved with had tried to kill her years later. Talia didn’t understand why the woman had gone out of her way to help and hadn’t stuck around afterwards but Talia knew better than to take the kindness of the stranger for granted. Without her Talia knew that she wouldn’t have been able to live to see her teenage years let alone go through anything else that had happened since and even though Talia would be the first to admit that for a long time her life had been a complete mess she had managed to turn things around now and she was finally happy, or at least as happy as a person could be on their own. She had a few friends around her, albeit friends who didn’t know the real her or what she had been through, but the truth was that at the moment there wasn’t anyone that she trusted enough to confide in just yet. Her best friend since childhood had ended up betraying her and had almost gotten her killed and even though Talia had said yes to becoming Asariel’s new vessel so that her former friend wouldn’t die she still wasn’t ready to forgive her completely just yet and she definitely wasn’t about to go trusting the woman again. Right now the only person that she truly trusted was the angel that she shared her body with and Talia knew exactly how sad that was but after everything that she had been through she just couldn’t help it. That day her shift had already finished but the last call had taken longer than she had thought that it would. That came with the territory of being a paramedic, though, and it was something that she was used to by now. The truth was that it didn’t really bother her too much as more often than not when she wasn’t working she was on her own at her apartment but that day was different. She and her partner were restocking the rig before they headed back to the station and did the handover with the next shift when she felt like someone was watching her. It was a feeling that Talia was used to pinpointing by now but this was different and it was enough to make Asariel stir within her as well. “What is it Asariel?” she asked, uncertainty building within her as the angel hesitated for a moment. “A demon, the one that betrayed me,” the angel said at last. That alone was enough to put Talia on edge and she turned around before freezing instantly for standing in the doorway was a face that she had seen a few times before while she was awake but so many more times in her dreams. “It can’t be,” she breathed, knowing immediately who it was – it was the woman that had saved her life. She didn’t look a day older than she had when she’d saved Talia as a child and that in itself was enough to make alarm bells start to ring in the paramedic’s mind but her curiosity had gotten the better of her. Heading in the woman’s direction Talia’s heart sank as she turned and walked away causing Talia to break into a jog. “Wait,” she called, not about to give up that easily. As she neared the woman she reached for the woman’s arm, hoping to catch it and stop her. “I was starting to think I imagined you but you’re here,” she said, hoping that she might finally be able to get some answers. “Please don’t walk away from me this time.”RAVEN

━ What if I see you again? What if I DON'T? ━
Wait,
A voice called out to her and the effect of it was more than enough to make a shiver rush down her spine. Being a demon gave her the advantage of not feeling anything. From a young age, she learned that emotions really ruin everything. Left you feeling weakened and easy to pick apart but with her being like this, she had the advantage of manipulating people. Of being the one picking them apart until there was nothing left. But with her meatsuit still alive within her. With her still hearing her thoughts and hearing her begging to stop whenever she would take a life, it was starting to weigh her down. Starting to make her experience things she never wanted to experience again. If you ask Raven if she missed being human, she would say no without a hitch. There was nothing good about being human. All her memories of that time filled with so much anger and pain. So much jealousy and envy. So much betrayal. Raven could hear the sound of footsteps catching up to her.
I was starting to think I imagined you but you’re here, Please don’t walk away from me this time.
Raven looked down at the hand grasping her arm, halting her from walking away from Talia entirely. Slowly, Raven turned around to face her and almost immediately, her eyes were drifting up to look at the graceful presence surrounding the other, giving away the presence of a holy being within her. She couldn't tell with ease who it was, but it felt familiar. "Careful what you wish for," Raven broke her silence and spoke to the other possibly for the first time, revealing her heavy Russian accent that dripped smoothly from her words. It was her first time standing like this with Talia. She was that one person she had continuously saved when the choice of leaving her be shone the brightest. But she never did. Whatever situation she had managed to get herself into, she was there to help her out of it.
Maybe she saw a bit of herself in Talia. The fact that she had no one in her life and that she had always managed to find herself in terrible situations. Talia even had her "phase" where she was rolling with a group of kids and they were off causing destruction. It reminded her of her friends and the terrible fate that had befallen them at the hands of the man who woke up from his slumber to find thieves within his home and so, he defended his property. She died that day and it was such a slow and painful death. Maybe she wanted to protect Talia from that. She took a step closer to Talia as her lips spread into a small smirk which pulled at the edge of her lips. She started circling around the other, so much like a predator circling its prey as she lifted her hand to let it brush against the woman's beautiful curly hair, smiling knowingly when it felt as soft as she had imagined it to be.
She moved so that she was standing in front of her again as her eyes ran up and down her face. "You've gotten older. Definitely still shorter than me," Raven commented with a hum following. Raven looked exactly the same. The beauty of her meatsuit not even fading for once. Still carrying the same delicate features and the cat-like eyes. Her high cheekbones and her sharp jawline. The only thing that changed was the color of her hair. It was no longer honey but blonde now. "You don't look like you're afraid of me." She pointed out with a tilt of her head. "And that angel. I'm guessing you aren't one of the angels tryin' to get me. Otherwise you would've killed me by now." Raven let her tongue run over the surface of her bottom lip before her eyes found Talia again. "What mess did you get yourself into this time, hm?" She was talking about the fact that she was letting an angel live within her.

The warning Asariel had given her probably should have put Talia on high alert and in all honesty she was very aware of her surroundings right now but she also knew that the hospital was a safe place so she knew that whatever happened she would be fine. The woman that had been looking out for her for such a long time just confirmed that for her, while she was growing up Talia hadn’t had anyone other than her best friend Lani to count on but the woman had betrayed her and since then she hadn’t managed to let anyone else get that close to her. As strange as it might sound the angel that she shared her body with was the person that she was closest to right now and that wasn’t something that she had ever thought that she would say. She had thought that by starting over in Mystic Falls she would be able to leave everything that had happened in the past far behind her but Lani and the leader of the group that she had once been a part of had made sure that that was never going to happen. Talia had always been a fighter and she had learned how to actually fight and defend herself after he’d managed to get the drop on her once and she had held her own against him the second time but he had proved to be too strong. Had it not been for Asariel showing up when she did Talia knew that she would have died that day and Lani would too. As it was both of them were alive and now Talia had finally found the guardian angel that had been looking out for her ever since she was young and she hoped that she might finally be able to get some answers. “If you’d wanted to hurt me you wouldn’t have saved my life so many times, you would have let me die when you had the chance,” Talia countered. There was something about the way that the woman was circling her that was enough to make the hairs on the back of her neck stand up on end but the truth was that she wasn’t afraid. Had the woman wanted to do something to her then she would have done so during one of their previous encounters. Talia didn’t understand why the woman had showed up just in time to save her on so many different occasions and in so many different locations but she was thankful to the woman for being there for her when she hadn’t had anyone else. Asariel was in the back of her mind warning her to be careful, that the woman before her was the demon that had betrayed her once, but Talia wasn’t too worried. “That may be so but she’s saved my life more times than I care to admit. She won’t hurt me and she won’t hurt you while you’re with me,” she assured the angel, hoping to calm her down a little. She understood why Asariel was wary after what the angel had told her but Talia couldn’t shake the feeling that she could trust the woman before her not to hurt her, demon or not. “That’s usually what happens when encounters happen years apart although you haven’t aged a day,” she observed, studying the woman before her carefully for a moment. “And for the record I’m not that much shorter than you,” she added, knowing that she wasn’t going to let her get away with that. As the woman said that she didn’t look like she was afraid of her, Talia shrugged. “That’s because I’m not,” she said simply. The woman could have killed her on a few different occasions if she’d wanted to or she could have left her to die rather than saving her if she hadn’t wanted to get her hands dirty but she hadn’t done either of those things. Instead she had saved her life so Talia knew that she wasn’t in danger right now. “That angel is named Asariel and I understand that the two of you have some history together too,” Talia said, knowing that there was no point in keeping that from the woman since she could clearly see that she was playing host to an angel. “The leader of the gang I used to run with found me and thought he might have better luck killing me a second time. Asariel saved me.”RAVEN

━ What if I see you again? What if I DON'T? ━
If you’d wanted to hurt me you wouldn’t have saved my life so many times, you would have let me die when you had the chance,
Ah. Was she getting to the point where she was predictable? There was a time where someone would look at her and be able to define what was going on through her head. She lived off of that. Liked the fact that even though she was walking among these pesky little humans, she was still out of reach. So much like a mystery. The fact that no one truly knew anything about her made her feel powerful. They didn't know her as Yves, the girl who tried to own the world but instead, found herself being restrained and put to the ground. From a young age, Raven had learned that the world truly was a dark place. So while everyone else managed to get away with their horrid actions, she was the one who got caught and punished for simply trying to live in a world where money was everything. Where your intentions and your past meant nothing. If you don't have money, you aren't anyone and you are not worth knowing. Raven pursed her lips, hazel eyes watching her with nothing but darkness circling those eyes of hers. Look hard enough and you would find yourself sinking deep with vines wrapping around your legs, holding you down for an eternity to come.
That’s usually what happens when encounters happen years apart although you haven’t aged a day, and for the record I’m not that much shorter than you.
Raven felt a smirk tug at the corner of her lips when Talia told her she hadn't aged a day. "Drinking the blood of the innocent is great for anti-aging." She wriggled her eyebrows once, lips stretching to form a smile that was far from apologetic even when it was just a joke. Dark humor was definitely her thing and it didn't seem like it was going to change any time soon even if it made some people sick to their stomach just from the thought alone. Raven wrinkled her nose when Talia told her that she wasn't that much shorter than her. "Definitely that much shorter than me." She was definitely not going to let her live that down. "Should try soles in your shoes. Maybe then we'll see from eye to eye." Still an asshole, as always.
That’s because I’m not. That angel is named Asariel and I understand that the two of you have some history together too,
Raven quirked an eyebrow, surprised as well as amused to hear Talia say that she was not afraid of her. "I don't know if that's brave or stupid." Raven purred, her Russian accent still hanging heavily onto her tone. For a moment, there was a slip in her expression, one that showed surprise when she heard that the angel currently residing within Talia was none other than Asariel. It had been a while since she'd last heard her name. "Oh, Ariel, you're still not angry about that, are you?" Indifference was quick to form back on her face before her expression turned into an 'oops' one. "Sorry?" She definitely didn't sound sorry. "I've been devoting myself to Papa ever since, asking for forgiveness." She feigned a cross sign shortly after before her lips stretched into a grin. Calling Asariel 'Ariel' had always been Raven's thing. It was her way of annoying the angel.
The leader of the gang I used to run with found me and thought he might have better luck killing me a second time. Asariel saved me.
Raven's eyes darkened for a moment, her grin fading when she heard her words. "Did you kill him? Or at least, did Ariel do it?" She asked, her eyes still focused on Talia before she paused. "You didn't let him live, did you?" She asked, sounding skeptical about that because it would definitely disappoint her to a certain degree to learn that the asshole got away with it. "Actually, if you hadn't... That means I can pay him a lil visit." Once again, that darkness in her tone as well as her eyes returned. She was a demon, after all.

Talia had been told so many times over the course of her life that she was worthless that she had started to believe it herself by the time she reached her late teens. Too many of her foster parents had liked to tell her that on a daily basis and it had been the same with the leader of the gang she used to run with when eh had tried to kill her the first time. Talia knew that they were all just trying to get inside her head and for a long time she had managed to ignore them but, like with most things, when someone repeated it enough times most people would start to believe it. Talia wasn’t immune to that, she had seen no other way out than to run away during her teenage years and it had set her on a downward spiral. It wasn’t something that she had ever wanted to happen but at the end of the day she had managed to come out of it the other side and she knew that she was a lot stronger for it so things could have easily been a lot worse. She was fortunate that she’d always had someone watching over her and now she was finally face to face with that person. It was a little strange to see that the woman hadn’t aged a day from the first time she had saved her so she knew that there had to be something more going on and if the woman really was a demon like Asariel had said then that might just explain a few things. “You don’t really do that,” Talia said, shaking her head before she hesitated for a moment. “Do you?” She knew nothing about demons but thankfully Asariel did and the angel was already in the back of her mind telling her that the woman didn’t actually do that and it was enough to make her feel a little better at least. “I’m good, thanks,” she shrugged. It had never bothered her and she knew that she wasn’t going to let this woman start making her feel self conscious now. She was finally in a good place and she refused to let anyone change that. “I’d definitely say the former,” she said, a half smile working its way across her face as she looked over at the woman. She had saved Talia time and time again so she knew that she wasn’t going to be afraid of the one person who had always been good to her and looked out for her. Now she was able to look out for herself but back then she wasn’t and she knew that she would have died without the woman’s help. The woman’s next words were enough to rile the angel up and Talia had to act quickly to try and calm her down and stop her from taking control. Talia had waited such a long time to meet this woman and she knew that she wasn’t going to let anyone take that away from her. “She wanted to tell you herself but yes she is and she doesn’t believe a word you say,” Talia shrugged. There was a lot of history between the two of them, of that she was certain, and now her interest was piqued so she knew that she was going to have to get Asariel to tell her sooner or later. The woman’s next words came as a surprise to Talia and she shook her head. “You don’t have to do that. He’s still alive but he thinks I’m dead. I don’t think he’ll try anything again,” she admitted although she had thought that before and had been proved wrong so she knew that it was still a possibility even if she didn’t want to admit it. “Will you at least tell me your name and why you kept saving me?”RAVEN

You don’t really do that. Do you?
A smirk formed on Raven's lips as she chuckled incredulously at her words. "I don't?" She repeated with a challenging look in her eyes that simply told her not to try to understand her. She didn't reply back to her question, though. Letting her wonder about that because she was cruel like that. It also would give Talia more reasons to run away from her. To not talk to her like she was her friend because she wasn't. She was a demon and could easily kill her if she wanted to. If. Which made her wonder why she was keeping her alive right now. Why she was allowing herself to "care" about her well-being to the point where she would save her again and again. She was a liability like this. She was something that she did not want to hold onto. But for some reason, she was not letting go of her.
Raven's lips spread into a wicked smirk at Talia's words when she told her that she was fine when she teased her about her height. To be fair, the difference was not something that was major but it was still fun to tease her about it. "Guess Ariel does have a thing for shorties." She teased with a knowing smirk on her lips as she continued to tease without any mercy. Raven rocked on her heels for a moment, her hand drifting up to brush a strand of hair away from her own face as her eyes remained fixated on none other than Talia.
Raven nodded her head once. "I'm starting to see that," she pointed her index finger at the other before she looked away momentarily, her hands finding the pockets of her long black coat. It didn't take long for her intense gaze to settle on Talia again, watching her closely like how a hunter would watch its prey. Her eyes were filled with wicked intent. A certain type of darkness only a demon would possess. It was what them so damaged, wasn't it? That darkness. Their selfishness and their possessive behavior which could be quite deadly at times. Raven gasped when Talia told her that Ariel didn't really believe her words. She moved her hand to let it rest on her chest, or her heart to be exact, as her expression shifted into an offended one. "Rude." She lowered her hand as her expression morphed into a smug one because that was exactly who she was. A smug asshole. "Never knew angels could hold such intense grudges. It's kinda sexy,"
"You don't think? Oh, T. He will find you, sooner or later he will. Don't worry. I'll take care of it. I'll send you a limb for souvenir." She grinned wickedly, a rush of excitement coursing through her veins at the thought of getting her hands bloody. She hummed as she shifted weight from one foot to the other, looking as though she was contemplating whether she wanted to tell Talia her name. "You can call me whatever you want, T." She shrugged her shoulders in a careless manner. "But they call me Raven." Raven said with a wicked grin on her lips. "Just so y'know, I'm kinda a big deal." She wasn't. She just had a lot of pride.
"I didn't save you, don't be mistaken, little T. I was just looking for some excitement. You happened to always provide me with some." Raven shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly. "Now, c'mon. I'm hungry and you're gonna feed me."

Talia had been through a lot more than anyone in her life right now even knew. She could have confided in those around her, especially those she worked with, but she knew deep down that it just wasn’t an option. The looks they would give her if they knew were ones that she knew that she just couldn’t deal with at the moment so instead she kept her private life just that, private. She had a few people that she socialised with but they only knew as much as she felt comfortable telling them and while she knew that it wasn’t particularly healthy it was just the way that things had to be. She had never been good at opening up and the one true friend she’d had had almost gotten her killed so she knew that the last thing she wanted was to end up leaving herself open to that kind of betrayal again. It was easier to keep people at arm’s length and after being like that for so long she really wasn’t sure how to change. She had almost died twice and she knew that she couldn’t count on being lucky enough to dodge death again. She had been fortunate enough to have someone watching over her ever since the day her parents died but she knew better than to take any chances. She had spent ages searching for her saviour after she was admitted to hospital following the stabbing but the woman was nowhere to be found. It seemed crazy that she had suddenly shown up now and a part of Talia wouldn’t have been sure that this was even real had it not been for Asariel’s reaction. The angel was wary of the woman before her and Talia didn’t know why but it was enough to make her feel a little uneasy. She trusted the woman, after all she had saved her life twice already, but she also trusted Asariel so she was of two minds. She knew that she needed to make up her own mind, though, so she knew that she had to try and figure the woman out on her own. “No, you don’t,” she said, her voice sounding more confident than she felt right now. She wasn’t too sure what to make of the woman so far but she knew better than to let that bother her too much. “She really doesn’t like you calling her that,” Talia said as the angel grumbled about it inside her head. Talia knew better than to let the comment about her being short get to her because the truth was that there wasn’t much of a height difference between them at all and she wouldn’t be surprised if the woman was just saying it to try and get under her skin so she knew better than to let her. The woman’s next words were enough to bring a smile to Talia’s face. She’d had no choice but to be brave after everything she had been through but it seemed like it was paying off. She was slightly taken aback by how intense the woman’s gaze was when their eyes met once more but Talia was starting to think that perhaps this was just the norm for her. Talia had to hold back a laugh at the woman’s next words. They just seemed to annoy Asariel even more but if anything that just amused Talia that much more. “Apparently they can,” she said, an amused smile forming on her face as she looked over at the other woman. She didn’t know what had gone on between her and Asariel but she knew that she was going to have to get the truth out of the angel sooner or later. “I’m of no interest to him anymore, as far as he knows I’m already dead,” she shrugged, trying to sound confident about that. The truth was that she had no idea what would happen if their paths did cross again but she knew that she didn’t want to have his blood on her hands even if it was indirectly. “He isn’t worth it.” He was a scumbag, one that she hoped that she would never see again. It still amazed her sometimes that she had even ended up getting involved with him in the first place and she knew better than to make that mistake again. “Raven,” she said, getting used to the feel of the name on her tongue before nodding. “Really, why’s that?” she asked, genuinely interested in learning more about Raven now that she had the chance. As she spoke again, Talia studied her carefully for a moment. “I don’t believe that,” she shrugged. “You were there for me when no one else was.” She really hadn’t had anyone back then, the first time they met her parents had just died and the last time her only friend had betrayed her. She knew that she could be wrong but she simply didn’t believe that Raven had helped her twice because it gave her some excitement. “What do you feel like eating?” she asked, knowing that it really was the least she could do after everything that Raven had done for her. ━ What if I see you again? What if I DON'T? ━
No, you don’t, She really doesn’t like you calling her that,
A chuckle filled the silence as Raven's eyes gave away her amusement with Talia's confidence. "We'll see about that," she answered with that instead, not giving the other the satisfaction of winning. Raven was the type of person who did not like the thought of losing. It wounded her pride and there was nothing she hated more than a wounded pride. She took her pride very seriously and the second she felt like it was threatened, she lashed out and truthfully, no one really survived her lashing. Raven quirked an eyebrow at Talia's words before her lips stretched to form a smug smirk. "I know," she whispered as if she was letting Talia on a big secret here. "It's kinda why I call her that." She added a moment later with a shit-eating grin locked onto her lips. "Angels are usually so━ uptight, y'know? So it's a little trick to get her to loosen up a bit more." She wrinkled her nose when she recalled just how uptight those angels were. Ugh. They just suck the fun out of every little thing and she hated it. "They are a huge pain in the ass sometimes. In the name of the Lord, you shall not do this and that!" Raven waved her hand off with a 'pfft' sound following her words. "Demons are a lot more ... adventurous. Feel free to join us, little T."
Apparently they can, I’m of no interest to him anymore, as far as he knows I’m already dead, He isn’t worth it.
Raven rolled her eyes at Talia's words when she told her that she was of no interest to him anymore. "Oh, really? What happens if he finds you by coincidence?" She asked, her head tilted slightly to the side before she took a step forward. "Thing is, no matter how safe you think they are, the past will always catch up to you." Raven shrugged her shoulders as she lazily shoved her hands inside of her pockets, her eyes drifting away from the human momentarily to look around them, wondering why she was still here. Why she was talking to her. "Na'ah. The only thing he's not worthy of is living."
There was a smirk of amusement that curved her lips when she heard Talia repeat her name. "Because I'm really good at the killing part." She lazily answered, her lips curving into a grin shortly after. "They write 'bout me in the newspaper. The "serial killer" in town. It's funny how clueless humans really are, scrambling to find a rational answer to everything."
"It's better to be alone than to lose everyone you ever cared about." Raven replied cryptically before she looked away and almost right away, she was back to her smug little persona. The prideful little demon who loved getting a rise out of people. "A toddler. But surprisingly, none of the restaurants here serve that." She replied sarcastically, her hands finding her pockets again. "You're the human here, aren't you? Surprise me."

Asariel was adamant that Talia needed to get out of there as quickly as she could because the woman before her was dangerous but Talia found herself not wanting to move an inch. She had spent most of her life thinking that she had been hallucinating each time she had seen the woman that had saved her life so many times over the years but a part of her had always wanted the woman to be real. She had tried asking the paramedics and nurses about her but they had claimed that they hadn’t seen anyone around her room despite the fact that Talia was sure that she had seen the woman at the hospital afterwards. There was something strange going on, something so much more than Talia knew, but the fact that the woman was actually a demon was enough to confuse her even more. Talia had always seen herself as not being important, she knew that she was never going to be the kind of person who would change the world but she could at least try and save a few lives along the way the same way that her own life had been saved so many times before. She felt drawn to the woman before her despite Asariel’s warnings and that was something that Talia hadn’t expected at all. She couldn’t help but roll her eyes at Raven’s words. It was clear that the woman liked to torment her but Talia knew that she needed to stop herself from rising to it. “Maybe that’s just the effect you have on her, she’s fine with me,” Talia teased, a smile forming on her face as she looked over at Raven. She had seen that side of Asariel for herself a couple of times but the two of them had started to trust each other and that was something that she hadn’t necessarily expected when she had said yes to becoming the angels vessel. It had been a final attempt at staying alive but it had paid off and now she knew that she needed to make sure that it stayed that way. “I think I’ll stick with Asariel, thanks,” she laughed as Raven invited her to join the demon side. “I haven’t come across any angels like that but demons sound much more dangerous,” she shrugged. That really wasn’t something that she needed anymore of given everything that she had been through, all she wanted was to keep her head down and live her life without doing anything else that might end with it being cut drastically short. “I’m not alone this time, I have Asariel on my side,” Talia shrugged. She wasn’t sure exactly what the angel would be able to do but Talia had seen for herself that her companion had abilities that she could use and she knew that she just had to trust that those would be enough. “I’m also being a lot more careful. I’ve been learning how to defend myself.” She had known a bit about how to do that before but now she was taking it much more seriously so she knew that it would be a different story if he found her again, it had to be. Deep down, though, she couldn’t deny that a part of her agreed with Raven that it would be much easier if he was out of the picture permanently but the last thing she wanted was blood on her hands. That was why she had left the gang in the first place, she hadn’t wanted the deaths of others on her conscience and she still didn’t want that now. Talia was about to say something else when Raven said that she was the one the reporters had been writing about in the newspapers and she instantly went on the alert. “You’ve got to be kidding,” she said, unable to deny that she was alarmed at the thought. As Raven spoke again, Talia shook her head. “I don’t know about that, I wouldn’t take back the years I spent with my parents for anything,” she admitted. And yet she hadn’t been able to let anyone else truly get close to her ever since her old friend betrayed her. It was difficult knowing who to trust and it was difficult knowing who wouldn’t judge her for the world that she used to live in but she was doing her best to build a life for herself nonetheless. “It sounds like you might know more about that than you’re letting on though. Have you lost someone you cared about?” she asked, unable to deny that she was genuinely interested to know more about Raven. As she spoke again, Talia rolled her eyes playfully. “You’re right, I think you might be disappointed around here. You’ll have to settle for a burger and fries instead,” she teased. As Raven told her to surprise her, Talia nodded. “Alright then, this way,” she said as she turned and started leading the way away from the hospital. She wasn’t too sure where she was going to take a demon for lunch but she knew that she would figure something out. “Is there anything that you can’t eat?”RAVEN

━ What if I see you again? What if I DON'T? ━
Maybe that’s just the effect you have on her, she’s fine with me, I think I’ll stick with Asariel, thanks, I haven’t come across any angels like that but demons sound much more dangerous,
Raven chuckled, looking like she was wondering about that herself before a small hum left her lips. "Yeah, that could also be it." She wrinkled her nose and looked away, but she wasn't really looking. Her eyes found Talia's once more when she told her that she'll be sticking with Asariel. "You're no fun." Raven teased with a smirk resting on her lips. "We just have a bad rep, y'know? But deep down, we're little angels." Raven fluttered her lashes at Talia, pretending to look angelic and innocent. "Mmm, could be just to us." Demons, she meant. "But it's not like we all get to choose what we became, right? They just love judging with their little judgy eyes."
I’m not alone this time, I have Asariel on my side, I’m also being a lot more careful. I’ve been learning how to defend myself. You’ve got to be kidding, I don’t know about that, I wouldn’t take back the years I spent with my parents for anything, It sounds like you might know more about that than you’re letting on though. Have you lost someone you cared about?
"Ooooh, Ariel might actually kill 'em! Okay, change of plans. How 'bout I bring him here? I'd love to see some action." Raven wriggled her brows suggestively as she bounced a little on the balls of her feet, looking as excited as a child, basically. "Oh, have you now, little T? So would you hurt me if I threaten you?" She asked with her head tilted slightly to the side with a little glow of mischief clear in her eyes. "That might be fun." There was a little smirk on her lips when she noticed that Talia was a little alarmed by her words. "Nope!" She replied back, popping the 'p' as a smug look took over her expression. "Are you finally seein' how dangerous I am now, little T?" Raven's lips stretched to form a grin as she looked over at Talia. A small scoff left the demon's lips before shaking her head. "You humans are always so sentimental." Raven wrinkled her nose in distaste before looking away. Talia's question caused Raven to tense up momentarily, her hands clenching into fists momentarily. "Let's just say the man upstairs has a very fucked up sense of humor." Raven's lips stretched to form a smile that was too wide, though her eyes lacked its usual glow of mischief but it returned just as quickly.
You’re right, I think you might be disappointed around here. You’ll have to settle for a burger and fries instead, Alright then, this way, Is there anything that you can’t eat?
Raven chuckled as she looked over at Talia. "Mmm, there's only one way to find out, right?" She shrugged her shoulders in a careless manner. "And if she dies, then that's fine too." She added a moment later, her words just as careless. "She's been giving me a headache ever since I took her, anyway." Raven murmured with a scoff following as she headed to the restaurant with Talia and upon entering, she looked around for a moment. "Ah, nothing beats the smell of human flesh." Raven looked over at Talia for a moment. "And burgers. I love burgers." She added in a teasing manner as she headed toward an empty table to claim it for them. "Does Ariel not want anything? How about some Holy Water as an appetizer?" Raven wriggled her eyebrows annoyingly as she looked at Talia with a shit-eating grin on her lips.

Being able to finally meet her saviour after all this time was something that was still so surreal to Talia. She had spent so long wondering if she was crazy for even thinking that she had seen the same woman there every time that she had needed someone, after all whenever she asked anyone about who had saved her they hadn’t seemed to have a clue, but the moment she had seen Raven she had known that she was the one that had saved her life so many times. Talia had known that there was no logical explanation as to how the woman could look the same each time she thought that she saw her and that was why the notion of her being a guardian angel had seemed so fitting. It had never occurred to Talia that the woman might be a demon and she knew that she needed to heed Asariel’s warning but the truth was that Raven had only ever looked out for Talia, she had never once hurt her and Talia felt safe around the demon even if she still wasn’t entirely sure what Raven was capable of yet. “What can I say, she has become a friend,” Talia said, a smile forming on her face as she shrugged. Asariel had saved her life too and they had come to an agreement about how this would all work. It had taken some getting used to at first and there had been a few incidences in the beginning but as time went on they had started to figure it out. Talia knew that the angel hadn’t always made the right decisions but then again she knew that they had that in common. Asariel was an outsider for the most part even among her own kind and that was definitely something that Talia could relate to. “Of course you are. Whenever someone mentions the word demon, they really mean that person is an angel,” she laughed. As Raven said that it wasn’t like they all got to choose what they had become, Talia’s expression turned thoughtful for a moment. “If you don’t mind me asking, how did you become a demon?” she asked, genuinely interested considering that so far Raven had only ever looked out for her. “You don’t have to answer that if you don’t want to,” she added, not wanting to offend Raven for asking something that she shouldn’t. “Please don’t. I don’t want to have to see him again if I can help it,” Talia admitted. The guy had already tried to kill her twice so she knew that she didn’t want to tempt fate by crossing paths with him again if there was any way that she could avoid it. “I might,” she said, pretending to consider it. There was something about Raven and their past together that told her that the woman wouldn’t try anything but the truth was that she wasn’t sure. As Raven spoke again, Talia shrugged. “I wouldn’t say dangerous, it seems more like you’re trying to push me away right now and it isn’t working,” she said simply, knowing that Raven could try to push her away all she wanted to and it wouldn’t have the desired effect. Something seemed to keep drawing them back to each other and Talia knew that she wanted to figure out what that was. The way that Raven tensed for a moment didn’t go unnoticed and for a moment Talia worried that she might have said the wrong thing but then Raven was speaking again and the smile that formed on her face wasn’t normal, there was something different about it and she had a feeling that she might have touched a nerve. “If you ever wanted to talk about it, I’m here,” she offered, knowing that she didn’t want to push Raven to tell her if she wasn’t ready. As Raven said that if her host died then that was fine too, Talia’s eyes widened in alarm. “You don’t really mean that, do you?” she asked, even as Azariel warned her again to be careful around Raven. Talia rolled her eyes as Raven said that nothing could beat the smell of human flesh. “A burger it is then,” she said as they stepped inside and headed towards an empty table. Asariel’s grumbled reaction to Raven’s question was enough to make a smile form on Talia’s face. “I think that’s a hard pass,” she admitted as she sat down opposite Raven, rolling her eyes at the grin that Raven sent her way. “What would you like to drink?” she asked as the waitress arrived to take their drinks order. Of course you are. Whenever someone mentions the word demon, they really mean that person is an angel, If you don’t mind me asking, how did you become a demon? You don’t have to answer that if you don’t want to,
Raven pointed at Talia with a grin on her lips. "Exactly," she said with a grin resting on her lips. Though when she heard Talia's question, her smile died entirely. She shrugged her shoulders in a manner that could be described as nonchalant. "It's fine. I don't care." She shrugged her shoulders carelessly as she buried her hands inside her pockets. "I killed someone," Raven revealed without a single care in her voice whatsoever. "And I liked it." She added a moment later, her smirk returning to her lips. "I stole, too. I stole a lot of things. It was pretty fun."
Please don’t. I don’t want to have to see him again if I can help it, I might, I wouldn’t say dangerous, it seems more like you’re trying to push me away right now and it isn’t working,
Raven scoffed and shook her head. That's where they were different. While Talia preferred to avoid her past altogether, Raven wanted to face it headfirst. She wasn't going to bring him back to Mystic Falls, but it doesn't mean that she wasn't going to look for him. She was going to have so much fun with him. "I dig that." She said with a grin on her lips when Talia said that she might fight her if it came to it. Raven quirked an eyebrow at Talia, watching her quietly for a few seconds much like a hunter would stalk its prey. For someone who always had something to say, she didn't say anything back this time around.
If you ever wanted to talk about it, I’m here, You don’t really mean that, do you? A burger it is then, I think that’s a hard pass, What would you like to drink?
Raven narrowed her eyes at the other. "Whatever you're trying to do, don't. Don't get comfortable with me, Talia." She warned, her expression a lot darker. There was no mischief. No teasing. There was something about Talia's statement that made her feel a certain way and she hated it. She wasn't supposed to feel anything. "I like the fact that you keep getting surprised by my words even though you're really talking to a demon right now. I do mean it, Talia. I can kill her right now if I wanted to. If being the keyword here."
She chuckled at Talia's words when she heard that it was a hard pass on Ariel's end. "No fun." She repeated her words from earlier. Her eyes flickered to the waitress, looking at her before her lips spread into a grin. "A big glass of virgin's blood." Raven said with ease, chuckling at the waitress' reaction. "You humans are so much fun." Raven said between her laughter. "It's a joke," she explained to the waitress when she noticed that she was still looking put off by her words. "I'll have a milkshake. With a cherry on top. Lots of whipped cream. Skip on the whipped cream and I'll dunk your face in hot oil, yeah?" Raven winked at the other before she tore her gaze away, shoo'ing her away dismissively.

For years Talia had been made to feel like she was crazy for seeing the same woman save her on multiple occasions. She had never understood why the person had taken an interest in her like that and the truth was that she still didn’t understand it now but she couldn’t deny that it was good to know that she really had seen the person after all. It hadn’t made any sense to her back then about how the woman could look exactly the same despite how many years had passed between incidents but now she knew the truth – Raven was a demon. It was enough to blow Talia’s mind and she knew that it might have done just that had she not become Asariel’s host a short time before. She hadn’t known anything about the supernatural before that but her eyes had been opened to it and she was learning as much as she could as quickly as possible. There was still so much about it that she didn’t know but she had Asariel to guide her and now her guardian demon had finally showed up as well. She still wasn’t entirely sure what to make of Raven but if she had wanted to hurt her then Talia knew that she would have done it a long time ago so she couldn’t help but feel like she was safe with her despite Asariel’s protests to the contrary. “It sounds like you would have fit in well with the gang I used to run with,” Talia said, just the thought enough to turn her stomach. She hadn’t minded stealing so that they could survive but when things began to escalate and the leader of the gang started killing people that was when she had realised that it was time for her to get out. She had learned just how precious life was the day that her parents died and she had known that she could never be involved with a group that had such disregard for human life. Working as a paramedic was her way of helping the people around her and she knew that it was what she was meant to do. She could already see that she and Raven were different but for some reason that didn’t scare her the way that it perhaps should even after everything they had been through, in fact if anything it seemed to intrigue her. Despite all of Raven’s shocking statements it was clear to Talia that the demon didn’t want to hurt her and she knew that she wanted to get to the bottom of why that was. “It’s too late for that,” she shrugged as Raven warned her not to get comfortable with her. “You’ve done a lot of bad things, I get it, but you have always been there for me. I don’t buy what you said about me providing you with excitement; I was just a kid when you found our car at the side of the road and that guy left me for dead. Why have you been helping me really?” she asked, knowing that it might make it a little easier to process all of this if she at least knew why Raven had kept on looking out for her. As Raven said that she could kill the other woman right now if she wanted to, Talia’s expression turned thoughtful for a moment. “If you wanted to hurt her then you would have done it already,” she said, knowing that if Raven was everything that she said she was then she would have killed her vessel a long time ago. Rolling her eyes at what Raven said to the waitress, Talia shot the other woman a look before closing her menu. “Sorry about my friend, she doesn’t get out much. We’ll take two milkshakes,” she said, hoping that the waitress wouldn’t think too much of it. “So what are you doing in town?” she asked, knowing that there had to be a reason behind Raven’s visit. | R aven shook her head at that. "I've never been a follower," she didn't like following someone's lead, she liked making her own path. She didn't like it when someone told her how to act or behave, which rules to follow and which to ignore entirely. She hated feeling confined like a bird in a cage. She made her own rules and no one was going to change that. "I like playing my own games, running my own show." Raven said with a proud little smirk resting on her lips. Raven had always been a prideful creature and it wasn't going to change now. Raven wasn't sure what to make of Talia. The words she said, they were enough to catch her off-guard. Was she supposed to hate this feeling or like it? Was she supposed to tell her to stop or keep going? She still wasn't too sure. Raven pursed her lips and looked away from Talia entirely. She still wasn't so sure why she had saved her, to begin with. Was it boredom? Was it something more? If the answer was the latter, then what the hell was she going to do about it? Demons aren't supposed to feel anything. They are supposed to be hateful creatures made of nothing but darkness and envy. But she was out there saving another life? Raven's tongue poked at her inner cheek, her eyes focused solely on a spot away from Talia, pretending as though it was the most interesting shit she had ever lied her eyes upon, but it was far from the truth. Raven was never the type of person to shy away from someone, she was an unashamed person who said everything that came to mind without giving a fuck about people thought about it. But here she was, being an absolute fucking idiot and it was all because she couldn't offer a proper answer to Talia's question. " Ты и твое гребаное любопытство." You and your fucking curiosity, Raven shook her head, whispering that under her breath. Raven released a hum at that before she shrugged her shoulders. "Maybe, maybe not. Who knows?" Raven offered back with a small smirk on her lips. "Maybe I'm still deciding how I wanna kill her," Raven shrugged her shoulders with a grin resting on her lips. "With fire? A stab wound? A gunshot? Off a bridge? The list is endless," Raven suggested each one and enjoyed the way it seemed to make her meatsuit get a little terrified. Raven chuckled like the little shit that she was at Talia's words. "M'yeah. Daddy keeps me locked in the basement all the time, you should come watch." She threw a little wink at the waitress before her attention drifted back to Talia when her question came through. "I'm here to watch Mystic Falls go out in flames, of course. I've got the popcorn ready and all that." Raven put her legs up on the table to get comfortable. Maybe she got too comfortable but eh, who cares. "I've been hearin' about Mystic Falls this and Mystic Falls that. I had to check it out. M'sure baby wings in there knows what I'm talking about, too. This town is like a fuckin' beacon for supernatural creatures." It was insane. The energy of it. The way she couldn't even leave. |
