Stefan could still remember just how disorienting it was to wake up in transition. He hadn’t wanted to become a vampire and he had resigned himself to the fact that he wasn’t going to go through with it but an accident had changed everything not just for him but for Damon as well. Both of them had known about Katherine beforehand but they hadn’t known about everything else that was out there and the truth was that they were still learning even now. He couldn’t even begin to imagine what it must have been like for Caroline to go through everything that she had on her own but she wasn’t on her own any longer and he knew that he was going to be there for her as much as possible. Lexi had helped him when he first became a vampire and even though he had never managed to get the hang of the human blood diet thing that didn’t mean that it had to be that way for Caroline. He knew that he didn’t want Caroline to make the same mistakes that he had so he knew that he would teach her as much as he could to try and stop that from happening. At least Caroline had already known about the supernatural as it turned out so with any luck that had made it a little easier. “It does,” Stefan agreed as Caroline said that it sounded like it was made up. It had never even occurred to him that there could be people out there who turned into tigers with each full moon too. Werewolves and coyotes he had just about managed to get his head around but anything else was still completely new to him. “I’m glad Dec told you though. Does he know what has happened to you?” he asked, not sure whether Caroline had reached out to him yet or not. It was easy for Stefan to promise Caroline that there weren’t going to be any more secrets between them and he meant it. He had felt bad enough about keeping her in the dark as it was but there was no need to do that now. “It will get easier,” Stefan assured her gently before pulling her into his arms as he saw the tears in Caroline’s eyes. “You’re not going to hurt her, I’m going to help you learn how and when to feed. If you do that regularly enough then you won’t feel tempted by her blood and in time you’ll get used to being around her without focusing on her heartbeat all the time.” He had managed that with Elena, Tatia and even Caroline and the others despite the problems he had with human blood so if he could do that then he was certain that Caroline could too. “It won’t be this hard forever.”CAROLINE FORBES

standing in the wreckage i can tell there’s nothing left. i’ve made mistakes but god knows i’ve tried I’m glad Dec told you though. Does he know what has happened to you?
Caroline shook her head when Stefan asked if she had told Declan about what had happened to her. "Not yet." She breathed out. "I don't even know how to." She threw her hands up in defeat before she ran her fingers through her hair, brushing the blonde strands away from her face before she eventually tucked a strand behind her ear. She gnawed on her bottom lip for a few seconds before she finally let out a small sigh. "But I'm not going to lie to him. I'm going to tell him. I just..." Caroline trailed off as she caught her bottom lip between her teeth to gnaw on it for a few seconds. "Need to gather myself first because I... don't want to hurt him, either." Caroline added a moment later as she explained what she had on her mind. She wasn't hiding it because she didn't trust him. On the contrary, she trusted him with her whole being, really. She just needed to be sure she had control over her actions and that darkness inside of her.
Caroline wrapped her arms around her best friend when he pulled her into his arms again, hugging her. Reassuring her. She felt like crap for being such a burden, but she could barely hold herself back from crying. Everything was just... too much. It was too intense. She didn't know it was the turn that made her emotions feel so intense like that.
Caroline leaned away from the hug to look at Stefan better as he explained that it would get easier. "Really?" She breathed out before she finally nodded her head, starting to believe it a little more. "Okay... Okay." Caroline wiped her tears away with the back of her hand. "God, I feel ridiculous. M'sorry. I don't know why I'm crying so much. Is this like... a vampire thing now?" She breathed out, her attention focused on Stefan for a few seconds before she finally stepped back and brushed her hair back and away from her wet cheeks. "Okay. I'm ready to go." She said with a soft sigh following. "I just need to not cry again. I feel like such a cry baby." She shook her head with a small sigh following. "Let's do this." She sounded a little more confident now. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Stefan hadn’t even questioned it when Katherine had told him and Elena that she had killed Caroline because he hadn’t thought that it would be worth her while to lie about that. As it happened she had told them a half truth, she had killed Caroline but what she hadn’t told them was that she had fed Caroline her blood before that so that she would wake up in transition. Stefan didn’t understand why she had decided to do that and he would be lying if he said that it didn’t bother him but he knew that that didn’t matter right now. All that mattered to him at this moment in time was helping Caroline through this and that included helping her tell her friends and figure out what had happened when she had completed the transition behind her. The next few months were going to be tough, probably even more so for Caroline than a lot of other people given that even when she was human she always seemed to feel emotions so much stronger than those around her but if anyone could get through this then he was certain that she could do it. As she said that she wasn’t sure how to tell Dec, Stefan’s expression softened. “Sometimes it’s best to just come right out and say it. He won’t judge you for it and neither will Elena or Bonnie,” he assured her. They all loved Care and he knew that they would stand by her no matter what happened. “The good news is that since he’s a werecreature it will be more difficult for you to hurt him than others,” he offered, hoping that it might help a little. Dec would be able to heal from a lot of things that others wouldn’t be able to so having Caroline get used to being around him could prove to be beneficial. “Whatever you decide you’re not in this alone. I’m here for you,” he added, a soft smile working its way across his face as he looked over at her. She had been through so much already so he knew that the last thing he wanted was for her to feel like she had to go through this on her own. Hugging Caroline tightly, he nodded as she questioned what he’d said about it getting easier. “Really. The bloodlust will stay with you but there are different ways of learning how to deal with it. Alcohol and food helps and in my case I feed on animals rather than humans so it makes it easier for me to be around people most of the time,” he explained. It never completely went away but Stefan had learned to take any help with it that he could get. Stefan had it worse than a lot of other vampires did because when he drank from humans he often lost control and became a Ripper but he hoped with every fibre of his being that Caroline wouldn’t have to worry about that. “You don’t need to apologise. Becoming a vampire heightens every emotion and makes them all that much more intense. Again you’ll learn to deal with those,” he assured her. None of it was going to be easy but he had faith in Caroline and he was going to help her as much as he could. “Let’s do this,” he repeated, offering her a smile as he began to lead the way down the road once more. Caroline gnawed on her bottom lip as her thoughts continued to race in her head, leaving her with an overwhelming feeling that she couldn't quite understand. "I know they won't judge. I'm not... worried about that. I'm just worried about my control. I'm worried that they'll ... see me as a monster and not as Caroline anymore." Caroline admitted, her voice quite small as she talked, her eyes filled with so much insecurity. "But a part of me knows that would never happen because you guys are my friends... I just feel really insecure right now and it's so overwhelming." Caroline nodded her head a few times at Stefan's words. "Yeah, you're not wrong there." But it was the thought of hurting him that made her feel so... scared.
Whatever you decide you’re not in this alone. I’m here for you, Really. The bloodlust will stay with you but there are different ways of learning how to deal with it. Caroline relaxed at Stefan's words because they really meant a lot to her right now. "I know, Stefan. Thank you." She said in a soft voice as she reached for his hand to give it a gentle squeeze. She was so lucky to have people around her who really cared so much about her safety. She nodded her head slowly as she listened to Stefan, his words helping her feel a little better. She trusted Stefan's words more than anything. "I think... I'll feed on animals, too. I can't feed on people..." The guilt would never leave her. She could very easily lose control and wind up killing them. She can't let that happen.
You don’t need to apologise. Becoming a vampire heightens every emotion and makes them all that much more intense. Again you’ll learn to deal with those, Let’s do this,
" ... So you're saying that, now, I'm basically an insecure, neurotic, control freak on crack?" She pointed at herself as she talked, her attention drifting to Stefan. "Oh this is going to be fun." Sarcasm was very clear in her words as she spoke. She nodded her head a few times as she began walking with Stefan again. MADE BY VEL OF GS

Stefan could still remember how disoriented he was when he woke up in transition. Katherine had compelled him not to be afraid of her and for a long time he had believed that she had also compelled him to love her. He hadn’t known about her plan to turn both him and Damon so that she could have them both for eternity but without her he’d had to figure out being a vampire on his own until Lexi came into his life. She had helped him more than she had ever known and Stefan knew that he would have been lost without her so in a way by helping Caroline he was keeping her memory alive. Caroline never would have had to go through this on her own because her friends would have been there for her no matter what but they didn’t know what it was like to be a vampire so he knew that he would do everything he could in order to teach her and help her learn control so that she wouldn’t have to worry about hurting anyone. “That is never going to happen,” Stefan assured her as she said that she was worried that her friends would see her as a monster and not as Caroline anymore. “What you are might have changed but who you are hasn’t. You’re still the same Caroline that you’ve always been,” he said gently. He knew that her emotions were heightened now and that was going to take some time to get used to but he hoped that over time she would figure it out. As she said that it was overwhelming, Stefan wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tightly. “I know it is but it won’t always be like this. In time things will start to settle down and you’ll start feeling more like you.” It wasn’t going to happen straight away but in time it would. A smile formed on Stefan’s face as Caroline squeezed his hand and he gave her hand a gentle squeeze in return. The two of them were friends and he knew that there was no way that he was going to let her face this on her own. As she said that she would feed on animals as well, Stefan’s expression turned thoughtful for a moment. “You need to know that animal blood leaves us weaker than vampires who drink human blood and it doesn’t taste particularly nice,” he admitted. “I’m not trying to put you off but you need to know. The other option is blood bags so if you want to you can always try both and see which is best for you,” he suggested. He hadn’t met many other vampires who had adopted the animal blood diet at all but for him it was a must so he had to stick with it even though it had its drawbacks. Caroline’s next words were enough to draw a sympathetic smile from Stefan. “For the time being, yes. As you learn to control those emotions they’ll settle and you won’t feel that different to how you were before.”CAROLINE FORBES
