**set a few months after their first date
━ just leave it all & stay ━
Raven's leg bounced slightly as she worked on calming her nerves down. Honestly, what was it with things involving Talia making her feel nervous? It wasn't Talia's fault, but this relationship that she had with her... It was the best thing that she's had in a long, long time and she was worried about screwing it up. "Hey," Raven spoke up after a few moments of contemplation before she decided to say 'fuck it' and actually say what she needed to say to Talia because if rejection was in the books, then it'd be best to just get it over with, right? Much like ripping band-aid off in one go so it doesn't sting for too long.
Raven glanced around her. They were at the Grill, on a little date together. She was happy with how things were playing out in her life for once. But there was always that craving for more. "I was thinking..." Raven looked back over at Talia, tracing the rim of her mug of hot coffee with her index finger. "It's not, like, a must or anything like that. But, do you maybe wanna move in with me?" Raven asked in one breath because she knew if she took a break in between her words, she'll lose the courage to complete the question so she just decided to say 'fuck it' and say it all in one go. "If you want, I mean. No pressure if not. Honestly, I don't know what the fuck I'm saying right now, but you make me happy, T. Really happy. So... Yeah."

It had been a long time since Talia had last been in a relationship before Raven came along and she would be lying if she said that just the thought of letting someone in like that again had scared her. Talia’s track record with relationships wasn’t great and this was her first time being interested in a woman. That alone had taken some getting her head around but things were further complicated by the fact that Raven was a demon. On the face of it their relationship shouldn’t work but it had been a few months since they had started seeing each other and the truth was that Talia was happier than she had ever been before. Raven had saved her so many times in the past and Talia knew that she wouldn’t be here without her but there was more to it now. Talia had been reluctant to let anyone really get close to her after being betrayed in the past but Raven had helped her open her heart again and now life was so much better than Talia had ever known it could be. Her job kept her busy but she didn’t have a reason to take every shift she could now, in fact it was quite the opposite. Now she had someone who made her enjoy having free time and Raven had a way of stopping Talia from getting lost inside her head that no one else did. Now they were on a date at the Grill and it should have seemed ludicrous considering who they were but it didn’t, in fact it felt completely natural and even Asariel had given up protesting about the amount of time they spent together now. Talia suspected that the angel was getting used to Raven’s presence in her life now but even if she wasn’t then Talia knew that it wouldn’t change anything. “Hmm?” Talia muttered as Raven said hey, looking up from her drink to meet her girlfriend’s gaze. She had noticed that Raven had seemed a little nervous that day but one thing Talia knew about Raven was that it was important to let her say what was on her mind in her own time. Talia knew better than to try and push her into telling her what she was thinking so they had talked about anything but that although now it seemed that might be about to change. She wasn’t sure what she had been expecting but she was surprised when Raven asked if she wanted to move in with her. Before Talia could even process the question and give her an answer Raven was rambling and Talia reached over and gave her free hand a gentle squeeze. “Hey, it’s okay. You make me really happy too,” she said gently, offering Raven a reassuring smile as she spoke. “I’d love to move in with you,” she nodded, her voice sincere as she spoke. “Is that what has been bothering you today? You thought I’d say no?” she asked, unable to deny that she was glad it wasn’t something more sinister. Moving in together was a big step and Talia had never lived with a partner before but she couldn’t deny that she was looking forward to it. RAVEN
