Drawing out Remzi’s jealousy did nothing for her. She tried her fucking best to make him realise that he was losing her aka the best thing that ever happened to him. Without her he was nothing. He was just stupid , irrelevant vampire. Except why did it feel the other way around? He had Ayla and Raik. He also had a mum who thought the world of him, even though he’d proven to her so many times that he wasn’t an angel. That woman was blinded by the love she felt for her son. Same couldn’t be said about her own mum. She was blinded by hatred for Leah. What hurt the most though was seeing Remzi with another girl that wasn’t Ayla. He was cheating on her with another girl who wasn’t Leah. Leah needed to put away her tiny violin though and stop feeling sorry for herself. This time she’d struggled to bite the bullet and crack on with life though. It was kind of embarrassing that Remzi had such a hold over her. It made her stomach twist and turn every time she thought about him with Ayla. What kind of future would she and Remzi have together anyway? They weren’t going to be committed to each other for eternity. More likely they’d descend into some toxic relationship that was exhausting for the pair of them. Or maybe they’d somehow make it work on their own terms. In a non conventional way. But there was no point thinking about it. Their relationship has run its course, albeit earlier than what Leah wanted. She was hoping they’d squeeze another few years out before parting ways. Drinking herself into a coma wasn’t an option, but it still didn’t stop her from craving a strong drink. Heading over to The Ruby Slipper Club was out of the question, so she had to settle for second best. Campbells Bar. She peeked through the window before walking inside though, just to check Raik wasn’t behind the bar. Thankfully he was nowhere to be seen. She didn’t fancy being served a drink that may or may not have been poisoned. Leah hauled herself up onto one of the bar stools, ready to catch the attention of the next employee, but instead her attention was caught by the girl next to her. “Oh hey…” Her voice trailed off trying to remember the girl’s name. Kristen? Krystal? “Krista. How’ve you been?” Immediately she regretted the question, reminding herself how much Krista loved to talk last time. Within five minutes Leah knew everything about Krista. No doubt she was about to tell Leah all about her life. KRISTA MAY

━ i can't get you out of my head ━ KRISTA WASN’T SOMEBODY WHO “WENT FOR A DRINK” after a hard day, but she could see why people did. Maybe. She was sitting at the bar in Campbell’s, and there were a few too many people inside to make it comfortable, but the fruity drink she’d requested was pretty good. She could still taste the lingering vodka in the back, but at least it came with half a strawberry stuck into the rim. Maybe she’d ask for a virgin one next time.
Was it really a hard day? Actually, yeah. Any day dating Mal was a hard freakin’ day━okay, that wasn’t true. Most days, Krista loved him so much her whole heart felt like it was gonna explode, but sometimes he did stuff that made her wanna strangle him. Like the Christmas party… or not proposing to her at the Christmas party like the host did with his girlfriend, now fiance. Ughhhhhh.
Krista leaned in to sip her brightly-coloured drink, cringing at the secondary taste after the sugary one. Why couldn’t they make alcohol that tasted good?
Just as she was about to ask the bartender about it (and probably embarrass herself), she heard a voice next to her start up, even say her name, and Krista’s head swivelled sideways. Instantly, she brightened, “Hey!” She beamed at Leah, who’d been great for standing up to Mal last time. Especially when he’d come to scoop Krista up after, dragging her outta this place and makin’ sure she felt real appreciated as soon as he took her home. “Good! School’s gonna be done soon, which is fun. Can’t wait for th’summer━warm weather ‘n stuff, y’know.” It just made everything better. “Stuff with Mal’s good, too.” Krista grinned, ‘cause she loved Girl Talk more than anything, and she figured Leah did, too━considering that’s all they did last time.
“How’s your boyfriend? Did he start actin’ right?” If anybody could keep a man in line, it’d be Leah.

Krista came across as one of those girls girl. The type of girl if you told her your boyfriend had just cheated on you she’d be reached for a chainsaw to chop his balls off. Leah on the other hand was not. Girl code, whatever the fuck that was, wasn’t something she abided by. If she wanted to sleep with a man she didn’t give a shit it was your ex-boyfriend. No wonder she was lacking in the female friend department, not that she had any time in her life to develop friendships with people. Her time was mainly taken up by her job. As Krista spoke Leah clocked the bright awful looking drink she was clutching to. It made her teeth itch. But then remember how Krista couldn’t stand the taste of alcohol unless it had been pumped full of syrups and shit. There was shudder down her spine at the mention of school too. She never understood those weird fucking vampires who decided to go back to school. The last thing she’d be doing was sitting down in some fucking science if she was like a hundred years old. “Sounds good.” Her eyes drifted to Krista’s neck for a moment, “Is he only biting you where it’s not noticeable now?” She asked with a grin on her face. Her chest tightened when Krista referred to Remzi as her boyfriend. She couldn’t even be arsed to correct her because it didn’t matter. Remzi was nothing to her now. “Nah. He’s engaged to some bitch now. She’s been shipped over from Turkey to marry him.” Shame Remzi had no backbone when it came to telling his mum no. “I thought we were getting somewhere to be honest.” Ew, why the fuck was she opening up to someone? “We agreed to stop sleeping with other people but the prick went and got engaged.” And Leah carried on sleeping with Hannya. ━ i can't get you out of my head ━ AFTER KRISTA’S LITTLE RANT ABOUT HUNTERS, Mal hadn’t exactly stopped biting her where it was visible, but also gettin’ kidnapped by all his ex-friends made everythin’ a little weird, too. Also, Krista learned how to use concealer, which was a big help. “Most of th’time.” She shrugged, her cheeks heating with a blush as it dawned on her what Leah was suggesting, and how true it actually was.
But since things were actually goin’ pretty good with Mal now, Krista wanted to know how Leah’s love life was goin’. And, unfortunately, it didn’t seem too good.
Krista’s face twisted up in disbelief at what Leah was telling her, then second-hand anger for her friend. “Are you flippin’ jokin’?” She gritted her teeth together, brows furrowed at her drink like she could set it on fire with her mind. “So you guys were gonna make things, like, official… like, exclusive, and then he got engaged?!” The end of her sentence went up, and Krista turned to Leah again, shocked and offended all on Leah’s behalf.
“That’s so messed up. You should do somethin’ about it.” She nodded sharply, once, like she’d already decided, “Who the heck is this chick, anyway? Someone random? Does he know ‘er?” Krista shook her head, leaning in to take another sip of her drink while she considered. “You should do somethin’ to embarrass her. Make her never wanna see him again. Y’think he ever, like, filmed it with her?” Krista asked, glancing at Leah before she added quietly, “Worked for me. Embarrassed the heck outta the teacher at my school. Never saw ‘im again, though.” Or Leah could start with towing her car like Krista had. This plan had been much more effective, though.

If Mal had more than two brain cells roaming around in his head he’d keep his teeth marks beneath the clothing. Too many prying eyes around Mystic Falls. If the wrong person spotted Krista’s neck her boyfriend could find himself in a world of trouble. They wouldn’t care if Krista told them he was her boyfriend. He was a vampire. A bad creature which needed to be killed. Leah had tried to drill the same thing into Remzi’s vacant brain. It was difficult to get her words through his thick skull sometimes. Remzi thought he was some untouchable vampire. For a while she thought maybe he’d actually listened to her, until she found him near death in the woods. Would it be a learning curve for Remzi? Probably not. In a few years he’d be calling her again, with another wooden bullet grazing his heart and she’d do the same thing all over again. Drop everything she was doing and rush to his side. The words official and exclusive made Leah’s stomach drop. They were prepared to commit to one another, but who knows if they would have gone as far as attached labels to themselves. Girlfriend and boyfriend. It didn’t seem fitting for them. “Well… I wouldn’t go as far as saying we were gonna make things official. We were just gonna… sleep with each other and no one else.” Well, there may have been occasions they would invite another girl to the bedroom. Someone they had picked up at the club or something. There were so many words coming out of Krista’s mouth. At least she was coming up for breath every now and then. “She’s just some random bitch from Turkey. It’s an arranged marriage situation, y’know. All sorted out by their parents.” It made it seem a little less out of order, but still Remzi could say no. Leah sipped on her drink as Krista suggested she should do something to embarrass Ayla. Then she mentioned a video. Leah almost choked on her drink as she began to laugh. “Wait. Did you like circulating this video or something?” She said with a grin. Fucking kudos to Krista. “Well, I did try and kill her but Remzi stopped me. I doubt she’d let him film anything though. She seems kinda boring like that… I need a way to get rid of her. Permanently.” She couldn’t kill Ayla, so she needed to do something to get Ayla away from Mystic Falls. Away from Remzi. KRISTA MAY

━ i can't get you out of my head ━ KRISTA SMIRKED AND RAISED HER BROWS AT Leah, but she didn’t comment. There was far bigger, crazier stuff to unpack here, and Leah not wantin’ to admit that they were gonna be official wasn’t really the most pressing thing.
She crinkled her nose in distaste when Leah explained that it was an arranged marriage. Well… maybe she woulda liked that at some point━her parents picking out a boyfriend from Church for her━but Krista kinda figured they wouldn’t be able to put up with her after a while. Not like Mal did. And her parents prob’ly wouldn’t like Mal━who was clearly her perfect match━so what did they really know?
“Well, that ain’t an excuse. He shoulda, like, told his parents no, and that he wanted t’be with you.” Krista could envision it all. A real romance-movie style proclamation, where he “broke free” of his parents’ hold and told Leah he loved her. Krista didn’t know her super well, but she knew that Leah defs deserved it.
Krista shared her best idea of how to get that girl to run away, and, at Leah’s reaction, Krista blushed a little. She was kinda proud of herself━even though she wasn’t supposedta be. Clearly, her plan worked so well that even people who weren’t at the school saw it. Like Leah. “Yup.” She smirked a bit, her eyes ticking up to Leah’s. “Made her back off my man real fast. And it made him start actin’ right, too.” She nodded firmly, but it looked like that wasn’t gonna be an option for Leah.
And did it really make ya borin’ if you didn’t wanna film yourself doin’... that with your boyfriend?
“Kill her?” Krista looked up at Leah and laughed somewhat awkwardly. She had to be joking… right? Nobody just… said stuff like that and meant it. She sounded like she did, but Krista was gonna choose to believe she just had a weird sense of humour. People said that about British people.
“Um… you could always just… do the same thing. Like, really embarrass her. Or…” Krista trailed off as she thought.
The whole thing about her being shipped over from another country didn’t sit right with Krista. Some ‘random b-word’ shouldn’t have been able to be ‘shipped over’ from Turkey just to steal Leah’s man. Suddenly, an idea sparked, and her face brightened as though the “Idea Light Bulb” was visible on it. “Wait, her parents really just shipped ‘er over?” She asked, raising her brows. “No visa or nothin’? Is she workin’? ‘Cause that ain’t allowed. Also, can she really stay for… however long she’s stayin’ for? Ain’t there a limit?” Krista wouldn’t know━she’d never been anywhere━but she hoped her country would put a limit on how long visitors could stay. Especially for Leah’s sake.

Leah pulled pretty much the same face as Krista when she found out about Remzi’s arranged marriage. There was probably more anger present in her expression though. Remzi had been portraying himself as some commitment phobe for years, now he was preparing to marry someone. How the fuck was he going to stand and recite his vows without vomiting? She knew the bare minimum about family, but she knew he couldn’t tell his mom that he didn’t want to marry Ayla because he was sleeping with some other girl. Also, he didn’t want to be with Leah in that sense. Like boyfriend and girlfriend. “Ew. They’d wanna meet me if that happened and I don’t wanna meet them.” Jesus. The next minute Krista would be suggesting she take Remzi over to Kent to meet his mom. Rumours spread like wildfire in Mystic Falls, especially when some adult tape was circulated around claiming it was some professor from college. Leah didn’t give a shit who was on the video, but she found the whole situation amusing anyway. But even more so now she knew it was Krista who did the circulating. “It’s a great idea, but it wouldn’t work with Remzi. He’d be so happy if a tape of his was leaked. Proud of himself.” Leah would probably be featured in the movie too. For a hot second Leah forgot she was speaking to some straight lace girl. Krista’s boyfriend was a vampire so Leah assumed she was cool with the whole killing aspect, but clearly not. “Not literally trying to kill her. We just had a bit of a fight.” Ayla seemed like the type of woman who would be easily embarrassed. She probably cringed at the sight of thongs in a clothing store. So prim and proper. So not ideal for Remzi. Leah tilted her head a little, listening to what Krista was saying. “I reckon she’s been shipped here to marry Remzi for one of those green card things.” It had to be. It was the only explanation. “I think she’s working, yeah. Probably ain’t got the right visa though.” Slowly though her lips twisted into a smirk. She wasn’t sure if Krista was hinting at the idea of reporting Ayla to the authorities, “She must have overstayed her visa by now… I guess the right thing to do would be to report her.” This would be the easiest way to get rid of Ayla without getting her hands dirty.
