His parents' household had descended into pure chaos since Kai returned and Tobi couldn’t be a part of the chaos for a moment longer. It was actually driving him insane. He appreciated they were stressed because their son they thought was locked away forever was now back and threatening to kill them all. So yeah, it was a stressful time in their life but he couldn’t live in that environment. Thankfully River had kept the lease on their old apartment and Tobi’s room was still available. So an hour was hauling his belongings over to the apartment. At least this time round rent wouldn't be an issue because the wages at the club were fairly decent. Compared to Coffee Bean especially where they were on minimum wage and mostly relied on tips, except Tobi rarely got tips because he was a terrible barista. Hopefully he’d make a better barman, but probably not. He’d already fucked up a few cocktails, but who the fuck is ordering a mojito in a nightclub anyway? He tried offering the girl white rum with a splash of lime, but she gave him a dirty look. He was practically ready to pass out by the time he hauled his first suitcase and a few bags to the front door. Tobi pushed the door open, dragging himself into the apartment trying to bring everything with him. “Honey I’m home.” He yelled out, closing the door behind him. The bags fell from his grip and onto the floor. “I still have about five thousand trips to make back to my car. I need to stop ordering so many fabulous shirts off Shein.” He was a sucker for those flash sales though. Bright red letters saying free delivery for a limited time or buy twelve items get two free. His reaction was probably painted across his features as he stared at Tobi with parted lips and widened eyes before he lifted his hand to his chest. "Jesus, Tobi, you scared me." River approached his friend by the door, looking at the bags he had with him. "That's not everything?" River asked incredulously before he breathed out a soft chuckle. "Dude, you need to have some control. You're gonna run out of places to put your clothes if you keep this up." River looked relieved to see Tobi in one piece, though. It showed in the small smile that he had on his lips as he looked at him.
"I thought you'd be arriving tomorrow or something." River didn't seem to mind, though. If anything, he was happy to see Tobi here with him again. He'd missed him. But River was never good at expressing his feelings like that, so the 'I missed you' remained trapped behind sealed lips. "How have you been, man? It's been... a while."

Tobi read River’s reply and decided there was no need to wait another week before moving in. It was his get out of jail free card, so he grabbed it with both hands and packed up as quickly as possible. Everything was thrown into random boxes and suitcase, with no sense of organisation. It was all going to spill out onto his bedroom floor by the evening anyway, then slowly everything would find its place. He glanced back at his suitcase and bags, letting out a laugh. “Please River. You know me better than to travel light.” It was a problem while travelling around Europe too. Most times he would have to bite the bullet and pay for a cabin because it was impossible for him to squeeze everything into a tiny bag. “Wait until you see my coat collection. It’s grown.” He flashed River a smirk. So many wonderful coats were waiting to be hung up in his new wardrobe. He had no idea where he was going to fit it all, but it was a problem for future Tobi. Today. Tomorrow. It was all the same. He shrugged, “I needed to get out of my parents house. Today. They are suffocating me.” He puffed out heavily, wiping a bead of sweat from his brow. River’s question was a loaded one. How was Tobi? Feeling fucking awful if he was being truthful, but none of that he could explain to River. “All good! Just arrived back from my travels around Europe. I have sooooo much to tell you, but first…” He threw his arms around River, yanking him close for a hug, “I’ve fucking missed you dude.” RIVER MAY |

River nodded his head slowly at Tobi's words, though his expression shifted into one of concern for a moment. "Is everything all right?" He asked with the same hint of concern in the tone of his voice still.
"You have to tell me everything." From the grin that formed on his lips, River was definitely excited to hear about Tobi's travels. Though when he hugged him, River paused for a moment, unsure of how to react but then his expression softened and he wrapped his arms around Tobi, returning the hug. "I've missed you, too, man. It's really good to have you back. It was starting to feel a little too lonely without you." River admitted in a soft voice, patting Tobi's back a few times before pulling back. "C'mon, man, let's get you settled in. But first, do you want a drink?"

Tobi hadn’t exactly gone to Europe on some big fancy trip to find himself. Fuck that. He went there to drink wine, sleep with everyone and occasionally do a bit of sightseeing. He was just itching to see a world beyond America. He would have stayed out there for longer if Luke didn't get himself kidnapped by the Ghostriders. Now the dust had settled a little he’d started teasing Luke about being taken.
“Um… nah it’ll all fit in my room!” Somewhere. Tobi would make room for everything, but it would take him a few months to actually unpack everything. For now, he’d be living out of boxes. Tobi was actually caught off guard by River’s response. Most people just accept the first answer and move on. Tobi smiled a little, “Yeah dude. Just a few family problems. My brother kinda went missing for a few weeks but we’ve found him.” He kept his tone light hearted though. As though it was no big deal.
“I’d love a drink! Do you have any pink gin and soda?” Specific request, but worth an ask, “Or just anything alcoholic to be honest.” He moved past River, heading for the living where he threw himself down on the couch, “It’s like I never left.” There was a huge grin on his face as he spoke.
