Aw, wasn’t it so sweet of Phoebe to let him stay with her for a while? No. It wasn’t. Lawrence saw through her bullshit. She wanted to keep an eye on her, make sure he didn’t fuck up and do something he’d later regret. It went without saying though Lawrence had no intention of going back to his old self. The version of him that had emotions. Once the switch flipped he felt that wonderful sense of freedom again where he didn’t care about anyone or anything. A weight had been lifted. Phoebe was probably already devising a plan to force him to flick his humanity back on but she was wasting her time. Last time it took two years before anything started to seep through and the only reason that happened was because of the pregnant bitch. So, rule number one. Avoiding killing pregnant women. Rule number two. Make a mental list of things Phoebe could use against him. Herself, Teddy and maybe even their dead mom. Teddy was in the firing line, but for other reasons. Son of a bitch changed the name on the deed, forcing that invisible wall back up so Lawrence couldn’t get inside. He didn’t actually want to live with Teddy again anyway with all his strict rules about cleaning, decaf coffee and having no demons in the apartment. But Phoebe hadn’t collected everything when she went over, leaving a very small selection of things there. Mainly his whiskey collection and a pair of shoes. The whiskey and shoes weren’t the only thing he wanted to speak to Teddy. Apparently Teddy’s child was trapped in some ghost train station, according to the girl who came to see him at the club. Strikingly beautiful with an outstanding chest but Lawrence held back inviting her back to his bedroom because she was whining too much. Winter was all traumatised and shit about being locked in an abandoned train station for a few months. Boo hoo. Lawrence listened to her relay the story with a deadpan face, clearly uninterested, until she mentioned Penny. Teddy wasn’t the only one forgetting someone. Any memory of Penny had been wiped from his mind, memories which started filtering through when Winter explained who Penny was. The dragon from the library who stole his ring. It hadn’t completely slotted together, but there was enough there to remind him about this woman he had feelings for. Thankfully they were gone now, but Winter was telling Lawrence he needed to save Penny. She was relying on him. He asked what was in it for him and she looked all confused. There was no reward for saving Penny, so why would he? Armed with the information about Julian Lawrence headed over to Teddy’s apartment and knocked loudly on the front door, ready to take it off its hinges if Teddy didn’t answer within the next few seconds. But then he heard the door unbolt and finally opened. “You tell me who’s name is on the deed and I’ll tell you everything about the creepy child room you have… I know who the room belongs to and it appears you do too.” He leaned against the door frame, folding his arms as he did so, “Or I will burn this apartment to the ground then no one will be allowed inside.” It wasn’t bothering him that he wasn’t invited inside, it was bothering him Teddy and Phoebe were quick enough to banish him. ━ i started to dream again ━ TEDDY DIDN’T EVEN KNOW THE WOMAN━NO, girl━whose name bore the rights to his apartment. It wasn’t cheap paperwork, either, but he suddenly had a lot more of his paycheques to spend recently. In any case, he supposed it was better to keep himself safe than not, and hopefully Lawrence would bring back his emotions sooner rather than later. It would make all these irritating things disappear━if he was lucky. He would have his apartment back, his best friend, and maybe they’d figure out what to do with the spare bedroom. Teddy had begun to pile toys into a garbage bag and set them in the corners of the room whenever he had free time. Perhaps he could rent it out and make a little more money.
He stretched his arms over his head after dumping his plates in the sink, feeling his shoulder pop. Teddy sighed softly and began cleaning what was left of his meal, though, halfway through, he was interrupted by someone banging on his front door. With his brows furrowed, he wiped off his hands and strode to it, pulling it open to find Lawrence… looking more smug than Teddy had ever seen him look before. He should’ve known only one person would be slamming their fists on his door like that━only one person angry enough to be so rude and inconsiderate.
The idea of learning who the room belonged to intrigued Teddy, but not enough to fall for Lawrence’s bullshit. He doubted the vampire even actually knew. Teddy liked him despite what he was, but once Lawrence’s emotions were off, it was clear he was just as terrible as all witches said vampires were. He’d stop at nothing to get what he wanted━which was, apparently, inside Teddy’s apartment.
When Lawrence threatened him, though, Teddy refused to keep a straight face any longer. He stepped through the threshold, one arm leading, outstretched so his palm hit the space between Lawrence’s collarbones. “You can certainly try.” Teddy hissed between his teeth, drawing power from Lawrence as he pushed him until the vampire’s back hit the wall. “Do it. Burn my apartment down… if you can manage it.” He chuckled darkly, teetering on the edge of taking too much before finally peeling his hand from Lawrence, remembering that this was still his friend; he didn’t want to kill him.
Teddy calmly stepped backwards until he was just inside the apartment again, his glare still focused on Lawrence. “Be careful with who you threaten. Maybe I’ll roast you first.” He snapped his fingers and opened his hand, and a little flame burned brightly from the centre of his palm, his gaze unbroken.

It was almost laughable that Winter was expecting Lawrence to do something about Penny. It was also pretty apparent he wasn’t going to do anything either, if Winter had any common sense and could read people. Perhaps he’d approach her again when she’d stop crying about the train station and he could ask her out for a drink, with no intention of getting to know her, only to take her back to his bed. Something to piss Penny off a little more, proving to her he didn’t give a shit about her. Beneath all the emotionless bullshit there was a version of Lawrence who wanted Teddy to know about Julian. That version of him could have driven him to Teddy’s apartment, hiding behind his threats. It didn’t take him long to figure out the other person who had been missing from his life for months was Teddy’s child. Lawrence had been the one complaining to Teddy that they were forgetting something and he was convinced it was something connected to the child's room. He didn’t know what to expect from Teddy when he threatened to burn his apartment down. People were quick to think he was some meek frail siphoner who wouldn’t hurt a fly, but Lawrence had seen a different side of Teddy when they first met. He watched him kill people because they were gunning for Julian. So, he wasn’t surprised when Teddy stepped out of the apartment, placing his hand on Lawrence’s collarboard. A burning sensation torn through his chest as Teddy drew the magic from him, he clenched his teeth hard as his back hit the wall. “Keep going if you want.” It wouldn't have been the first time Teddy took a little too much from someone. But Teddy’s hand fell and Lawrence hunched over slightly, his hand rubbing his collarbone as he inahled slowly. A smirk creeped across his face as he straightened himself up. “Do it. Without my emotions I don’t care if I live or die so if you want to burn me alive then be my guest.” Lawrence knew Teddy didn’t have the guts to kill his best friend, “But if you kill me how are you gonna explain that to Julian? Your son.” How could he explain to his young son that the vampire they lived with went a little off the rails so he had to kill him? “I don’t think you’re gonna be nominated for father of the year anytime soon considering your son is trapped in some weird train station waiting for you to save him. Meanwhile, you’re here throwing his toys away.” Lawrence could have gone on and on and really torn shreds off Teddy but he was holding back. TEDDY AARONSON

━ i started to dream again ━ KEEP GOING? THAT HAD TO HAVE BEEN something else talking, because he knew Lawrence didn’t want to die. Teddy wasn’t totally sure how this kind of thing affected vampires, but he saw more clearly now why his coven hated them. If they came across vampires like this━ones who’d chosen to shut off their emotions rather than deal with what’d happened to them━then it would’ve been difficult to even tolerate them. They wouldn’t want to co-exist peacefully or even work together, they only wanted to cause strife, uncaring even of what happened to themselves because of it.
Teddy was glad Lawrence went on, because he wasn’t sure what to say to that. He wouldn’t kill Lawrence, and threats didn’t seem to do anything, so they could only move on.
However, he wasn’t totally sure it was better to hear what came out of Lawrence next. A son? “What the hell are you talking about?” Teddy snapped, glaring at Lawrence from the few feet that stood between them. His hands clenched and unclenched at his sides, and he was itching to move forward, but he forced himself to remain still.
It was an easy conclusion to come to━the bedroom set up for a child was for one━which made it hard for Teddy to believe. It could just be another thing he said to bother Teddy━the rest of it certainly was. “Why should I believe you?” He asked sharply, “What weird train station? I think I would remember having a child.” When he thought about Octavia, it was only them. They had to escape for… themselves. So that, eventually, they could have a child free of his mother’s demands. But if it was just the two of them, then why hadn’t she fought off the coven when they came? Why did Teddy have to keep running back to her to refill his magic?
What had she died for?

Lawrence’s parents were very open with the fact they hated vampires. They referred to them as cruel ruthless monsters who had little concern about humans. Without his emotions he was embodying everything they hated. He’d come round to Teddy’s apartment and threatened to kill him, as though their friendship didn’t mean anything to him. Their friendship was a threat to Lawrence. It wouldn’t be long before Teddy would also be trying to bring Lawrence back. Teddy had retreated back to his apartment, where he was safe from Lawrence. The invisible wall was placed between them again, meaning Lawrence couldn’t snap his best friend's neck. Bringing up Julian was the second best thing to do. If he couldn’t deliver physical pain, then he would deliver emotional pain. He would make Teddy feel like the worst father in the world for forgetting his only son. Lawrence shrugged in response to Teddy’s question. “Because I gain nothing from lying to you about this.” He replied matter of factly, “I don’t feel like standing here and explaining everything to you. Some beings called Ghost Riders have forced you to forget about Julian. I could tell you how to get him back but I’m not going to because you’ve locked me out of your apartment.” He knew Teddy was smart enough to save Julian anyway. His son would be back in no time. “Don’t even think about pairing up with Phoebe to try and save me.” He brought his hands up, using mock quotation marks around the way save, “I will tear your fucking throat out.” He stepped back from the doorway, “Good luck getting your kid back.” He said with a smirk on his face, before turning around to head back towards the elevator. TEDDY AARONSON - the end!
