Romeo never thought he'd find himself in a place like this, but, it was where Raziel wanted him to be. Or, to be exact, he wanted him to be part of the infamous "squad" that the students at the school/college spoke so highly of. It was obvious that they regarded the members of the squad highly, like they were some kind of saviors. Romeo thought it was stupid, really. They weren't heroes. Romeo had to control his features to not let his hatred show and instead paid attention to the book that he was "reading". He kept getting some looks, mainly because he knew he was the "new kid" since his arrival had been quite recent and he stood out like a sore thumb, but whenever he'd meet their curious eyes, he'd just let his lips spread into a warm smile that wiped off as soon as they stopped looking. Romeo never felt more uncomfortable but here he was, surrounded by supernatural creatures, some of them were the same as the creatures that were responsible for the death of his parents. They weren't the ones to kill them, he knows that, but he still hates their kind with burning passion.
Romeo knew that he can't just sit here and let all that hatred consume him.
He needs to find a way into the squad because this way, he will be able to tell Raziel everything and if he keeps Raziel happy, then there's a good chance that he'll cure him and heal his sister. He can't fail. Romeo caught a movement from his peripheral and that was when he finally decided to move. He rose from his seat and suddenly turned around which sent him bumping into someone, his books falling onto the ground. Though he seemed to care more about stabilizing the other person, his hand resting on their waist. "Shit." Romeo cursed softly. "I am so sorry, are you okay?" Romeo's concerned eyes scanned over the features of the other and just like that, his plan of bumping into Summer by "mistake" was already set in motion. "I really should've paid attention to where I was going."

A school for the supernatural would have sounded crazy to Summer a year ago but her eyes had been opened to the supernatural world in the worst way possible and she had been trying to find her way through it ever since. So far her parents hadn’t returned for them but she knew better than to think that meant that they were gone for good. They were sure to return sooner or later and she knew that she had to be ready when they did. She and Eddie had both been training hard since they became werewolves and even though it wasn’t easy adjusting to turning into a wolf with every full moon or the anger issues that came with it, they were both doing their best and Summer knew that they couldn’t do anything more than that. It was no secret that Ada and Art would hand them over to their parents if given half the chance and Summer wasn’t really sure what would happen if they let them into the new house her family was living in but she knew they had to try and stop it getting to that. Even now she didn’t understand how she and her twin sister could be so different but Ada was twisted in a way that Summer wasn’t sure could ever be undone. Summer couldn’t give up on her sister but the truth was that she wasn’t holding out much hope for her. In all honesty there were times when it felt like a miracle that she had even made it to her high school graduation. She had transferred to the Salvatore School part way through her senior year and being there surrounded by others like her definitely helped just like Jed had said that it would. It had been strange at first seeing the shift in dynamic when Jed had stepped down as their Alpha, become a hybrid and handed the pack over to Hope, at first Summer hadn’t understood why he had made that decision but then she had realised that he had done it for love and so that he too could protect the people he cared about and she really couldn’t blame him for that. At the end of the day it was all they could do to keep the people they loved safe and things seemed to be getting better with the pack so she hoped that they saw it too. At her old school Summer had been one of the popular crowd but she’d left a lot of those friends behind when she transferred. She hadn’t been able to tell them what was going on at home or why she had changed and some of them had stood by her but for the most part she’d had to make new friends at the Salvatore School. She had been there for a while now and she was in her freshman year of the college side of things so she didn’t have to worry about being the new kid any longer, that title had well and truly been passed to someone else – the same person who bumped into her and sent both his books and the ones she had gathered crashing to the floor. His hand found her waist as he steadied her and Summer shot him a reassuring smile. “I’m fine, no harm done,” she assured him as her eyes met his. “Don’t worry about it, it happens to all of us. Here, let me help you,” she said as she bent down and started to gather up the books that had ended up on the floor. “It’s Romeo, right? I’m Summer,” she said as she held a couple of his books out to him. He was older than she was and he was new to the school so she wouldn’t be surprised if he was still getting to know people. “How are you finding everything so far?”ROMEO LANZO

Romeo let a smile tug at the corner of his lips at Summer's reassurance when she assured him that she was fine. "Oh, phew." Romeo seemed to relax visibly at that. "It does? I feel like I've just regathered all of my shattered pride just from that statement." Romeo said with a brief chuckle falling from his lips not long after, looking relieved to hear that he wasn't the only guy who had just made a fool out of himself by bumping into someone and sending his things flying everywhere.
"Oh, you don't have to--- Thank you." Romeo continued picking his own things too, only to pause at her next words. "Yeah. Yeah, that's me. It's nice to meet you, Summer." Romeo said with a gentle smile tugging at his lips as he finally picked the last bit of his things. He also took the offered books from Summer, thanking her for helping. "Uhm..." Romeo trailed off, pretending to think for a moment. "A bit overwhelming, I guess? It's just a lot to wrap my head around." Romeo stood to his full height not long after. "Was it like that for you, too?"

Summer was glad that the guy seemed to relax when she said that she was fine, he really hadn’t hurt her and she knew that she didn’t want him feeling bad about it. “You can keep your pride intact. It’s easy to get distracted around here, especially at first,” Summer admitted. She had never seen a place like this before so being surrounded by so many people who were supernatural was a lot to take in at first. She was a little more used to it now but even so she still found it strange when she saw the witches using magic or the vampires trying to keep themselves under control. There were so many more species at the school than that and some of them she hadn’t even thought were possible. Jed’s fiancé was a nephilim and Jack was one too. The idea of angels being real was incredible, let alone the idea that there were people out there who were half angel and half human. It had completely blown her mind at first so she definitely couldn’t blame Romeo for not paying attention to what he was doing. “I’m not going to make you pick all of these up on your own,” Summer said, offering him a smile as she helped gather everything together. “It’s nice to meet you too,” she nodded as she held his books out to him and picked up her own. “You can say that again,” she laughed as he said that it was a lot to get his head around. Getting to her feet, she nodded as he asked if it was like that for her too. “It still is sometimes, to be honest. I’ve been here for nearly a year now and I’m still getting used to it,” she admitted. Before that her life had been completely normal so it was still taking some getting used to, that was for sure. “Have you had anyone show you around yet?” she asked, not sure exactly how long he had been there for. Some people joined at the start of the school year while others like her joined part way through so she knew that if he had only just started then he might not have had someone give him a proper tour yet. "Thank you." Romeo said with a gentle smile resting on his lips at Summer's words. "I didn't know that people here were this nice." If only he had meant that. If only he had actually thought that way about the students here. But, if he could, he'd get rid of them all in a heartbeat. "I appreciate that a lot." Romeo said with a gentle smile tugging at the corner of his lips at Summer's words as she helped him pick everything off the floor and once he had his belongings back with him, he stood to his full height.
“Is it the fact that you’re surrounded by others like you and so much more?” Romeo asked with a hint of curiosity in the tone of his voice as he kept his gaze fixed on her. “I always thought I was the only one, you know? The only one of my kind, but nope. I came here and it really opened my eyes to a whole new world.” Romeo said with a half-smile resting on his lips as he kept his eyes fixed on Summer, watching her curiously. “Oh, no, not yet. I’ve been trying to find someone to help with that, but I’ve also gotten sidetracked with everything else.” Romeo lied with ease. It seems like he was right about Summer being his entrance into the squad. He’d just have to earn her trust first and judging from how nice she was, it shouldn’t take too long. Now that should have made him pause and feel terrible for manipulating her, but he felt no remorse because there was too much on the line for him. He has to succeed. “Would you be okay with showing me around? If you’re not busy, of course.”

“There are always going to be some people who aren’t but most people here are really nice,” Summer admitted. At any school there were always going to be people who weren’t nice but that really was just one of those things. It had taken Summer a while to get her head around the fact that she was a t a school for the supernatural but she’d at least had the chance to join that world on her own terms. She had been thrown into it after seeing her parents start hunting her younger brother and after Eddie became a werewolf she had known that she couldn’t leave it up to him to protect their family on his own. Summer wasn’t sure that she would have chosen this otherwise, the pain that came from turning into a wolf every full moon was awful but it was the best way she knew to keep her family safe and the sense of community she had with the pack was something that she wouldn’t give up for anything in the world. “You’re welcome,” Summer said, offering him a smile as he thanked her. “How did you know?” Summer laughed as Romeo spoke again. “I get that. Were you born this way?” she asked. She didn’t really know much about him or what he was so she didn’t know what had led up to him deciding to attend the Salvatore School but she couldn’t deny that she was curious. “I didn’t know about the supernatural world until shortly before I became a part of it. Most people in town don’t and it’s better that way. It’s safer for them and us,” she admitted. That way humans didn’t have to worry about what went bump in the night and those at the school didn’t need to worry about being hunted by people who were terrified of them because they just didn’t understand them. “That’s understandable, there’s a lot to take in. You’ll get there though, don’t worry,” she nodded. It seemed to be that way for everyone at first but she didn’t doubt that Romeo would settle in sooner or later. As he asked if she would be okay with showing him around, Summer’s smile returned. “Of course, I’d be happy to. Just give me a minute to get my things,” she said, patting his arm gently before heading back to her table and gathering everything together before slipping it into her bag. “I’m ready if you are,” she said as she returned to him. Romeo almost wanted to scoff at that because supernatural beings acting nice? Oh, what a joke. He'll believe that some shitty versions of them exist a lot easier than the fact that there are nice ones out there. “Yeah, I guess I prepared myself for that when I joined.” Romeo said with a quick nod of his head following, his lips stretching into a smile that looked genuine because if there was one thing that Romeo excelled at, it was acting. Romeo chuckled when she asked how he knew. It was easy to guess. Monsters always find comfort being surrounded by other monsters, don't they? They find comfort in knowing that they aren't the only murderers in this world. Fuck, he wished for nothing more than to make each one of them pay for all their wrongdoings but he will let Raziel bring them to justice because that was his goal, wasn't it? He'll be much more content not getting his hands dirty and just watching from the sidelines. “Because that's exactly how I feel too.” Romeo revealed, lying through his teeth as his lips stretched into a smile.
“Oh, no.” Thank god, huh? “Apparently I'm like this because of some people called The Dread Doctors.” Romeo revealed with a quick nod of his head following. “I honestly had no idea the supernatural world existed until I started disappearing.” Romeo added a moment later, his eyes relaxed on Summer. “What about you? Were you born this way?”
Romeo got the answer to his question when he heard Summer's next words. “Yeah, you're right about. Sometimes nothing about our world is pretty.” There was a bit of truth that bled into his words but the mask soon slipped back on and his expression went back to the same easy-going on he had on for quite some time now. “Thanks. I'm not rushing it. I'll just let things happen naturally. I'm not in a hurry.” Romeo said with a nod of his head, knowing it was better to take things slow so that his infiltration into the squad can feel natural because the people in the squad weren't ones to trifle ones.
They even had Raziel on edge a little bit, it showed in the way each move was calculated. He had done one miscalculation once and that was when he drove the blade into mortal Hope's chest which only caused even more trouble for him. He wasn't going to repeat the same mistake twice. “Of course.” Romeo replied kindly, watching her as his smile faltered for a moment but when she revealed that she was ready, his smile returned like it had never left his lips. “Ready.” Romeo began walking with Summer. “Y'know, never thought I'd get a tour guide this pretty when I came here.” Romeo flirted with a grin tugging at the corner of his lips. “So, uh, where to first, my trusted tour guide?” He chose to say instead so he doesn't sound like he was coming on a little too hard because the last thing he wanted was to push her away or scare her off so he knew that he had to be careful.

“Somehow I don’t think you’ll have a problem with that though, you’ll fit in here just fine,” Summer said, offering Romeo a smile as she looked over at him. He was handsome and he had one of those smiles that could make hearts melt so she really didn’t think that he needed to worry. It had taken Summer a while to get her head around the fact that she was at a school for the supernatural but she knew that it was much better than pretending to be something that she wasn’t and surrounding herself with her old friends. She still kept in touch with them but it wasn’t easy hiding a part of herself from them and she knew that they would think she was a freak if she told them the truth about what she was even if she didn’t tell them what had happened with her family. Being surrounded by others like her was a lot easier even if it did still take her by surprise sometimes. As Romeo said he felt the same way, Summer’s smile widened. “If it ever gets too much let me know. You’re not alone,” she assured him gently. She knew that soon enough he would have plenty of people around to help him but for now if he wanted a friendly face in his corner then she knew that she would be there. She knew that it was perhaps a little personal to ask if Romeo was born supernatural and she was about to say that he didn’t have to answer when he told her that it was down to the Dread Doctors. “I’ve heard of them before, there are a few people here who are supernatural because of them,” she nodded. As he said he had no idea about the supernatural world until he started disappearing, Summer’s eyes widened in surprise. “You started disappearing?” she repeated. That was something that she hadn’t heard of before and she couldn’t deny that she was intrigued. “You don’t have to answer if you don’t want to but do you know what they made you?” As he asked if she was born supernatural, Summer shook her head. “No, I wasn’t. I chose to become a werewolf so I could protect my family,” she explained, not wanting to go into any more detail than that and scare Romeo off. The pack knew about what had happened because they had helped Jed stop her parents from killing Eddie but they had promised to keep it a secret from the rest of the school and so far that seemed to be working. “That’s true, there are awful things that happen in our world but there are incredible things too. I’ve never seen anyone band together the way the people here do, it’s amazing,” she admitted. She and Daniel were complete strangers to Jed and his pack when they stepped in to help them and she was beyond grateful to them for that. For a moment when Romeo spoke she got the impression that there was something more that he wasn’t saying but it was only fleeting and she wasn’t sure if she imagined it so she stayed quiet. “That’s a good way to look at it. You seem like a nice guy so you’ll be fine,” she assured him. Romeo seemed like the kind of person who could get along with just about anyone so she didn’t doubt that he would settle in soon enough. Summer knew that there was so much more that she wasn’t telling him, the whole pack and a lot of the other students were on edge because of Raziel but Romeo was new so she knew that the last thing she wanted was to end up worrying him. She knew that she would always be there for the pack when they needed her but most of the decisions were made by Hope, Jed and their friends and Summer was more than happy for it to stay that way. Right now she had enough going on with her family without adding the finer details of what was going on with Raziel to the mix as well. Gathering her things together, Summer slipped her bag over her shoulder before leading the way out of the library. “You’re a flatterer, I’ll have to remember that,” she teased as Romeo fell into step beside her. “I guess today is your lucky day though and for the record, you’re not so bad yourself,” she added as she nudged his arm gently with her own. As he asked where they were going to go first, Summer checked her watch. “It’s almost lunch time, are you hungry?” she asked as she looked over at him. “I can show you around the dining hall but it can get a little overwhelming so if you’d rather eat outside just say the word.”ROMEO LANZO
