Fuck the Ruby Slipper club and fuck Hector for getting a little bit scared because Manny and Luc were selling guns. Course Luc didn’t get his marching orders, only Manny. He didn’t need that place anyway, not when there was the Ice Cream Parlour a few blocks away that was perfect for his business. A few days after parting ways with Hector he set himself up at the Ice Cream Parlour. They were selling vanilla scoop with sprinkles, but sometimes people would come in and ask for extra sprinkles. He’d built a successful business, but all it was limited to humans. He wanted to expand it into the world of the supernatural. His empire was built solely with humans too. There needed to be a change, especially if they were planning on staying in Mystic Falls longer. If he bolted it out of town now Ricky would follow. No, he was prepared to set up a new business right in front of his brother. Something which would benefit the vampires and other immortals of Mystic Falls. He needed two things, a few employees and a guinea pig who was willing to test Manny’s new product. An idiot who was willing to put their life on their life so Manny could develop something groundbreaking. Despite being kicked from the business by Hector, it still didn’t stop Manny from strutting back into the place like nothing happened, this time he was looking for Kit. The werewolf behind the bar who’d already been sent to jail for killing his own brother. He already had a criminal streak running through him, but he didn’t snap up Manny’s offer to work for him. He didn’t the opposite and told him to fuck off, mumbling something about being done with that life and some other nonsense shit Manny really didn’t care about. Manny cut Kit off, asking him where he could find another person. Kit didn’t exactly point at Remzi, but hinted. A vampire with absolutely no common sense. Perfect. Manny peeled himself away from the bar, following Remzi down the stairs. He waited until Remzi found himself a table, before slipping into the next to Remzi. “I’m not gonna sit here making bullshit small talk with you. Do you want a job? I can offer you a job. $1,300 a week, starting salary. If business picks up then your salary will increase… I want you to help me sell a new product I’m creating.” The ideas had been bouncing around in his head for a while now, but it was time to put it all into action. “I also need someone to test the product on… I can pay you good money. Very good money.” Unless he died of course. Then he’d get $0 and Manny would be sent back to the drawing board. REMZI DURMAZ

━ like sisyphus pushing that rock uphill ━ REMZI HAD FUCK-ALL TO DO. HANNYA WAS BEING kinda frigid lately (which he didn’t think was even possible for her), Leah was gone after trynna kill Ayla, and Ayla didn’t seem to want to hang around anymore. Which was fine. He didn’t like her peppering him with questions anyway.
So he went to the place he knew best for a drink, and figured he’d find some entertainment. Most days, he didn’t really have a plan, but today felt worse. Nothing was happening. Fuck, when’d he get boring?
His bright blue eyes swept across the club's interior the moment his feet landed on the final step, not finding Leah (thankfully), but eventually spotting Hannya. She didn’t look at him━jut kept her focus on some old-ass dude she was “entertaining.” Lawrence seemed to be the only one acknowledging his presence, and he nodded upwards in greeting, then pointed to the table he planned to sit at. He wanted Lawrence to get someone to bring a drink over, obviously━why would he bother going to the bar when he knew people?
Remzi settled in, but it wasn’t long until some dude hijacked the spot across from him. He looked familiar, but Remzi couldn’t place him.
Then he started throwin’ out numbers.
Who the fuck was this guy? And how did he know to approach Remzi? His eyes jumped to Lawrence briefly, but that didn’t help much. “Yo… who the fuck are you, dude?” He puffed. Back home, this would’ve been less of a red flag, but that home was exactly what made him wary.
Nah, fuck, he knew him. Manny; he worked with Hector or some shit━Remzi had seen him around here before.
He wasn’t gonna lie, though━the money sounded good. Especially when Remzi had no clientele here, and no prospect for any work. And he wasn’t gonna be serving fucking drinks. This would give him something to do━the thing he’d been searching for. And he hadn’t had cash since his trip with Raik━since he’d OD’d…but even that reminder didn’t temper his intrigue.
“I’m down to test it if the money’s good enough.” He leaned back somewhat, settling comfortably into the life he used to have━the one that fit like an old shoe… or whatever the fuck that stupid saying was. “Guess I can’t die from whatever it is, huh?” He scoffed━being a vampire gave him that advantage this time around.

He needed something immortal to test his product on. Vampires were the easiest thing to scope out in Mystic Falls and they all tended to gather in the same location. Emerald City. Maybe he’d struck gold when Kit pointed out a vampire who was willing to work for Manny and could be a potential product tester. Had he struck gold? Probably not. He had some concerns about Remzi, for starters he’d already racked up a small criminal record, including possession. Was he about to put his product into the hands of someone who was going to get caught? One thing was certain though. If Remzi got caught he’d be losing his hands. Manny was no fucking scientist when it came to this kind of shit though. He paid people to do that for him and paid them enough that they wouldn’t ask any questions, such as why were they making something that was ten times stronger than his normal stuff. His theory was a working one though. There was a chance it would send his subject straight into cardiac arrest, but a vampire would bounce back from that. There was a stern look on his face, with a slight twitch in his right eye, as Remzi snapped back at Manny, asking who the fuck he was. His hand rested lightly on his waistband, feeling the gun sitting beneath his t-shirt. Remzi would be eating his teeth if he came to Manny speaking in that tone again. “Manny de la Peña.” He needed to butter Remzi up a little, bring him over to his side. He couldn’t do that if he was quick to ram his gun into Remzi’s mouth. “$2,000.” The chances of him dying were pretty slim, but not impossible. This was something completely new, something that could kill a vampire from one hit, but was he going to tell Remzi that? No. “You’re a vampire… you’re not gonna die.” There was no point having Remzi worried about something that might happen, especially because if it did he wouldn’t be around to complain to Manny about it. ━ like sisyphus pushing that rock uphill ━ YEAH, HE WAS RIGHT, DUDE’S NAME WAS MANNY. Confirmed, obviously, by him saying it. Remzi watched as he shifted uncomfortably, and got the vibe that this dude was used to being in charge. He’d met tons of Manny de la Peñas in his lifetime, and he knew he had to watch himself. He wasn’t in the business of getting intimidated by anyone, but he also knew he didn’t need a bunch of fucking trouble in this town. Not any more than he already had, of course.
This shit was his bread and butter, though. This shit he knew how to handle━unlike all the supernatural stuff he’d had to figure out ‘cause of whatever Leah’d dragged him into.
Remzi kept his expression set in stone as Manny went from thirteen hundred to two grand. That was… like, more than a fifty percent increase (math was his strong suit for obvious reasons). Maybe he wasn’t likely to die from it, but clearly Manny needed someone with experience, and he definitely had cash. He’d try to bump him up another quarter. “Twenty-five and you got a deal.” He said, lifting his brows. “I know what I’m doin’, and if I’m gonna start risking my ass again for some dude I don’t even know, I wanna get some perks from it.” Remzi’s eyes flicked over Manny’s face, reading his expression, ready to shake on it. Money didn’t seem like a problem for this guy.

Manolo was trying to size up Remzi. Suss him out. The vampire obviously thought he was King of the castle because he was some creature who couldn’t be killed by normal human methods. Manny needed someone with balls on his side though. Someone who wasn’t afraid to die. Was Remzi that person? It was a theory which needed testing. If he failed he’d be eliminated. Manny had taken out plenty of vampires in the past. Then he was brave enough to counter Manny’s offer. Two and half grand. But he was rattling off, telling Manny he knew what he was doing, but Remzi’s criminal record told Manny otherwise. He’d been caught before. Maybe now those sharpened senses would help him to tell when a cop was about to walk around the corner. “Fine.” He said eventually, his arm reached over the table to shake Remzi’s hand. Before he pulled away though, he gripped tightly around Remzi’s hand. “If you fuck up there will be consequences. You will be beggin’ for death at the end.” That was the fun thing about vampires. They were easy to torture because they didn’t die so easily. Manolo let go of Remzi’s hand, getting to his feet. “Lookin’ forward to workin’ with you.” He slid from out of the seat, wandering off toward the bar. REMZI DURMAZ - end!
