It was now a battle of who was going to break first. Her or Remzi. Leah was getting worried it was going to be her. She had come close to contacting Remzi more times than sheâd like to admit, sheâd even gone as far as typing out a message apologising for fucking things up, but she back out and deleted the whole thing. Things couldnât be mended whilst Ayal was around, so of course Leah turned her attention to the Turkish bitch. At first Leah popped into the bar to check Hannya was working then she sat outside the apartment waiting for Remzi to leave. She perched on the end of a bench across the road, invisible to everyone around her, her eyes glued to the front door of the building. Those bells inside her head went unanswered until she was finished with Ayla. Finally the door swung open and Remzi left, meaning Ayla was all alone in the apartment. Oh, this was going to be so fun. Remzi would come home in a few hours to find his bride-to-be dead, with a pretty silver dagger poking out of her throat. Or Leah could teleport Aylaâs body to the middle of the pacific ocean and dump her there, leaving Remzi to think Ayla had left him. The second option had minimal consequences. Ayla would never be found, spending entirety at the bottom of the ocean being nibbled on by fish. Plus, Death would never find out, even though it wasnât written down anywhere that she wasnât allowed to kill supernaturals. Humans were off limits though, which was frustrating at times. Like the human who had carelessly just sat on her hand which was resting on the bench. Granted, Leah couldnât feel it but it pissed her off. She snatched her hand away from the humanâs arse before teleporting up to the apartment. She reappeared in the apartment, not bothering to hide behind her invisibility anymore, with a silver knife tucked away in the back of the waistline of her jeans. âAh, just the person I wanted to see.â She broke into a tight smile as Ayla emerged from the bedroom. âYour existence is starting to be a problem for me.â She launched forward, her right hand closing around Aylaâs throat as she pinned her against the wall. With her left hand she pulled the blade from her waistband, bringing it up and pressing the blade against Aylaâs face. âYou have a choice though⌠would you like me to dispose of your body in the Pacific Ocean or Indian Ocean? Or maybe the Mediterranean Sea so youâll be close to home?â Leah was quite flexible as to where Ayla would like her body to be dumped. AYLA KIRAZ

â kadÄąnlar beÄenince deÄil, gĂźvenince âĹÄąk olur â AYLA FELT AWFUL. HER RELATIONSHIP (OR whatever it was) with Raik was ruined, she was jobless, and Remzi would barely speak to her. It felt like her only friend was Hannya, who usually spared quite a bit of free time with her. But when it was nighttime, and Remzi was God knows where and Hannya was at work, Ayla was left all alone. She hated being alone. Back home in Turkey, it felt like she never got a moment to herself, and while sometimes that was annoying, sheâd grown accustomed to it.
Hannyaâs apartment was practically spotless, and there was nothing else she thought about doing. Sheâd already cleaned the inside of the fridge three times this week, re-organized their clothing, picked up Remziâs dirty laundry, and then did the laundry. What else could she possibly busy herself with? Nothing. That was the answerâabsolutely nothing!
Perhaps she should take up knitting. Her grandmother had done it, and it would be an excellent way to pass the time! If she started now, maybe she could knit Raik a sweater by wintertime. If they hadnât made up by then, that would be her peace offering.
Though⌠Ayla wasnât sure why she had to be the one to offer anything! Raik was the one that had a problem with her⌠or his brother⌠or both of them! And he was the one who thought that she should be ashamed of her kiss with Hector, even though it was an accident, and Remzi had forgiven her. What gave him the right?!
Alright, so no knitting.
Ayla sighed as she moved from the bedroom to the kitchen and decided to make herself some lunch. It wasnât the evening yet, but still, nobody was around.
Nobody except Leah.
Ayla stopped suddenly and gasped, cursing quietly in Turkish, though she (thankfully) didnât change her face. âHello.â She said nervously, frowning. Leah didnât like her very muchâactually, Leah just wasnât very nice.
âWhat?â Ayla croaked. Before she could say anything else, though, Leah was diving for her, her hand around Aylaâs throat, squeezing the air from her. âL-Leah,â Ayla begged, tears gathering in her eyes as a cool blade pressed against the soft skin of her face. She tried to use her strength to push Leah away, or even snap her wrist, but it didnât seem to workâwhatever Leah was was too powerful for Ayla.
âS-stop!â She cried, âNo! You not killing me! I do nothing against you! Leaveââ Ayla tried again, harder this time, to drive a knee up into Leahâs stomach; anything she could do to get free.

It was easier to blame Ayla than blame herself for this monumentally fuck up. No one forced her to climb into bed with Hannya and Mitch and she couldnât blame it on the alcohol either. Afterwards she was consumed with guilt, but tried to gaslight herself into believing Remzi would either never find out or if he did heâd be cool with it. It was also easier to pour all her anger into hating Ayla. Anger that was actually directed to herself, but she couldnât focus on that for too long as it would cause her to spiral. A casual one night stand in LA where neither parties were interested in anything other than sex has somehow developed into something where feelings were involved. Slowly tiny pieces of her become attached to Remzi, her heart yearning for him and only him. It wasnât just about the time they spent in bed together, it was more than that. Whenever his arms slipped around her waist, pulling her in tightly to kiss her, she felt genuine happiness bubbling inside. Fucking butterflies sometimes like she was a teenager. A smile would form on her face as his lips pulled away from hers as she realised the only person she truly needed was him. The mask she had been wearing for years slipped away a little bit with him, revealing another side of her. A person who was willing to give up their job (and ultimately their life) to bring Remziâs brother back from the other side. But all of that was forgotten now and they hated each other again, or least thatâs what Leah was telling her to help ease the aching feeling in her chest and the growing level of regret. Fury descended on when she spotted Ayla leaving the bedroom. A bedroom she used to share with Remzi (and Hannya, but that wasnât the point). Ayla was walking around the apartment like it was hers when she never belonged there in the first place. Leahâs nails dug harshly into Aylaâs skin as the tears started to form in her eyes. Fuck, did this woman ever stop crying? Remzi was about to marry a weak bitch. âThis ainât just any old blade⌠itâs silver.â She didnât budge as Ayla tried to push her away. Again, weak bitch. As she pulled the blade away from Aylaâs cheek, ready to strike, Ayla sent her knee into Leahâs stomach. She stumbled back slightly, placing her free hand on her stomach. âNo, I am going to kill you.â She pointed the knife at Ayla, âYou fuckinâ stole him from me!â She yelled furiously as she stepped towards Ayla again, pushing the blade towards the centre of Aylaâs neck, the tip touching her skin lightly. Leah paused before driving it through Aylaâs neck. It was a moment of hesitation. Ayla was an innocent party in all of this and sadly she was about to be killed because she was being forced to marry the wrong vampire. Why wasnât she shipped over to marry Raik instead? AYLA KIRAZ

â kadÄąnlar beÄenince deÄil, gĂźvenince âĹÄąk olur â SILVER? OH, GOD, LEAH REALLY WAS trying to hurt her. Permanently. She was trying to kill Ayla! There werenât a lot of things that could hurt a shapeshifter, but Leah had gone for the one that was for-sure lethal. Ayla trembled, but she tried her best to fight backâshe was not going to die in this terrible country at the hands of some woman who thought that Aylaâs fiance was hers!
She drove her knee into Leahâs stomach, and watched as the woman stumbled back, though she only grew angrier. The knife was pointed in Aylaâs direction, and Leah drove forward, claiming that Ayla stole Remzi?! How could she steal a man that was meant for her?! Well, perhaps not meant for in the romantic sense, but this was setup by outside forces. Surely, Remziâs mother wouldnât have put this together if she knew her son was in a relationship⌠with someone suitable.
âI did not stealing anyone!â Ayla cried. She didnât even want to marry Remzi! She wanted someone who would make her happy, who would be a good husband, and that man was not Remzi! Ayla had hoped she could change him, that they would fall into their roles as husband and wife, but so far, itâd been nothing but hardship. And now she was going to die for a marriage that would likely not even be fruitful?! âPlease do not! Please!â Ayla cried, trying to push at Leah, but finding it to be useless.
She was waiting for something, perhaps trying to torture Ayla this way, but then the door burst open, and Ayla thought sheâd never be so happy to see Remzi.

â like sisyphus pushing that rock uphill â WHAT KINDA BITCHASS DUDE COMPLAINED about havinâ two chicks on his d*ck? Remzi, thatâs who. Actually, only one had ever been on it, and she hadnât been lately. Which sucked, and it was really only âcause she lied to him, but whatever. If Leah wanted to be pissed, then that was fine, but he wasnât begginâ for her ass back. She fucked up and she didnât wanna fuckinâ admit it, despite Remzi having to make it up to her every other fucking time. Fuck that. He was done.
None of that shit meant he didnât miss her, though. Heâd never fuckinâ admit it, and he wasnât gonna call her, but he missed her. Hannya didnât wanna lay in his arms and not talk about the fact that they were cuddling. She didnât listen to him talk or give the impression (anymore, at least) that she really gave a shit about what he was saying.
And she wasnât there for him when his brother died.
But whatever, Leah made her own fucking choice. And sheâd be back eventually, never admitting fault, just pulling at his clothes and chasing that high âtil they both forgot about why they were mad. Maybe Remzi wouldnât give in this time.
He dragged himself back to Hannyaâs apartment and, on the way thereâas he always didâhe thought about where else he could live instead. Or at least go right now. He didnât really wanna see Ayla or hear her annoying ass voice yapping at him in Turkish, asking how his day was or whatever the fuck. She reminded him of his mom.
Just as the elevator opened to his floor, though, he heard screaming and knew it was Ayla. In a blur, he went to the front door and through it, taking a quick scan to figure out what was going on. That was when he saw Leah holding a knife to Aylaâs throat.
Without taking much time to process it, Remzi darted forward, using his vampire speed to wedge himself in before Leah could spear Ayla through the throat. He shoved Leah, using all the force he could, and stood in front of Ayla protectively. âWhat the fuckâs your problem?â He shouted, âCanât figure out how to say sorry, so youâre gonna kill her instead? How fucked up are you?â Remzi snapped, trying to block out the sound of Ayla whimpering behind him. Honestly, his mom wouldâve killed him if Ayla turned up dead, but she also didnât deserve to die just âcause she got caught up in Leahâs bullshit. Itâd already happened once with that baby, and he wasnât gonna let her do it againâespecially not when heâd never hear the end of it from his mom.

On paper Ayla wasnât stealing anyone because Leah and Remzi werenât technically together. Leah refused to commit to Remzi but at the same time she didnât want him to commit to anyone else. Classic. But she didnât need to spell it out for him either, he should have known she cared about. It was pretty fucking obvious. Hesitation cost her the opportunity to get rid of Ayla as Remzi zipped between the pair, pushing Leah back harshly. She stumbled backwards, lowering the knife as she did so. He was protecting her, like she meant something to him. âWhat the fuck are you doing?â She yelled, as she brought the knife up once more, this time pointing it at Remzi. Silver couldnât kill him but it was gonna hurt like hell if she rammed the knife through his eye. âWhy are you protecting her? She⌠she needs to go.â The jealousy was tearing her apart, but she didnât know how to communicate that. It was a sense of vulnerability she didnât like feeling, so the only option in her mind was to kill Ayla. Eliminate the problem. How could he stand there and choose Ayla over her? âWe both screwed up.â She lowered her voice, trying not to let it falter even though it felt like she was about to crumble. It was unfair that Remzi could fall back on Hannya, Ayla and Raik but who the fuck could she fall back on? No one. Without heading straight back to England there wasnât a single person in Mystic Falls who was there for. But why should they be? Sheâd done nothing but burn bridges since she arrived and now sheâd burnt her final one with Remzi. âBut it looks like youâve made your choice⌠her.â She pointed at Ayla with the knife, who was standing behind Remzi, wimping like some injured animal. Fuck, he was going to ruin that womanâs life. Leah lowered the blade again, this time tucking it back into the belt of her jeans. REMZI DURMAZ

â like sisyphus pushing that rock uphill â REMZI WOULD GIVE ANYTHING NOT TO hear Aylaâs annoying-ass voice ever again. He didnât want her dead, though. His mom would kill him, first of all, and, secondly, it just wasnât fuckinâ okay. Ayla didnât deserve to die just âcause she was annoying. Sheâd⌠probably make someone happy one day. If he ever got her off his back.
Saving her life certainly wouldnât fucking help, but he wasnât gonna do nothing.
He went rigid when Leah lifted the knife to him instead, but he knew it wouldnât kill him. Heâd take it. Itâd be a lot less painful than hearing his mom scream his ear off over the phoneâbut he didnât think Leah would do it.
âTrust me, I fuckinâ wish she would.â Remzi grumbled, âBut she doesnât deserve to die. Chill the fuck out.â It was pretty much unavoidable when it came to Leahâs crazy ass, but he still had to at least request it. It wasnât like he could knock her out, but heâd certainly try if he had to.
âWe both screwed up?â He repeated with a scoff. It was probably bad to piss her off even more right now, but Remzi couldnât help himself. He always fell into her bullshit. âOnly one of us broke that promise, Leah. I only did after you decided I wasnât fucking worth keeping it.â Remzi said sharply, not moving as he stared her down. He refused to feel bad for this shitâshe was the one who hurt him by sleeping around. They hadnât even promised to be exclusive, just to stop fucking around with Hannya, and she couldnât manage that.
Finally, Leah put the blade away, and Remzi let out a breath he didnât know heâd been holding.
He hadnât fucking made any choice. Actually, he did, but it was for his sanity. Why would he let Leah kill someone who hadnât done anything wrong? Again? Why would he let her carry that guilt around? You didnât do that to people you loved. It hurt him enough after she tried to get revenge for Raik, and Remzi was a lot of things, but he wasnât dumb enough to repeat this mistake.
âIf thatâs how you see this, then fineâtell yourself I chose her when youâre the one who fucked this up.â He felt Aylaâs hand press into his kidney, and he didnât know why the fuck she was touching himâbut all she wanted was to feel safe again.
âGo kill some other innocent fuckinâ person just âcause youâre mad. Youâre already fucked in the head, donât see how it can get any worse.â Remzi said through his teeth, and though he knew she could kill him where he stood, he still had a few inches on her (even in heels), and that made him feel in control. His broad chest hid Ayla entirely behind him, as well as shielding the heart that seemed to keep getting beat around by the woman in front of him.
