Had he completely misread Ayla? He thought she was determined to be a loyal wife to Remzi, even if he wasn’t willing to return the same level of dedication. At first he called bullshit on Remzi’s story, but he’d now had some time to process the rumour. Ayla and Hector had something going on. Remzi tended to lie, a lot, but only when it got him out of trouble. It made zero sense to lie about Ayla and Hector so there must have been some truth behind it and Remzi didn’t even give a shit. It shouldn’t have upset him, but it did. He thought something had been sparked between the pair, but now he was left wondering if he’d imagined it all. Ran away with the idea that Ayla liked him more than a friend. Maybe his heart was still healing from losing Katie, eager to replace her with someone else, but he doubted. After Katie was killed he’d sworn himself off love for the foreseeable. It sounded so cliche, but he needed some time to himself. He’d spent the best part of three years looking out for his brother, following him to Vegas then driving across the country to find him a daylight ring. Raik had barely had a second to himself, until now. But then Ayla arrived and suddenly he was prepared to push all that aside to spend more time with her. Thoughts of her infiltrated his mind at least three times a day and not the dirty kind. They were wholesome. If only his mom had decided he was the one who needed a wife and brought Ayla over to America for him. He wanted to confront Ayla about Hector, but there was a risk he would end up sounding jealous, unless he used Remzi as an excuse. It would have been hypocritical considering he was prepared to kiss her at Halloween if it wasn’t for that stupid siren. Raik could have been the other man, not Hector. His insides crumbled as he spotted Ayla sitting alone at a table in Campbell’s Bar. He quickly diverted his gaze away from her, considering walking straight out the back and ignoring her completely, but he couldn’t. He needed to know why Hector and not him, unless she had a thing for the undead. He approached her table, “Hey.” He spoke softly, breaking into a small smile as he sat across from her, “I… Remzi told me about Hector… and… is it true? You and Hector?” Please say no.AYLA KIRAZ

━ kadınlar beğenince değil, güvenince âşık olur ━ AYLA HUFFED OUT A BREATH AND FROWNED down at her resumes, gathered on the somewhat-sticky table at Campbell’s Bar. She could have cleaned it better. Could have, but what would she break in the process? Ayla’s eyes welled with tears, making the text become fuzzy. Where else could she work? Hannya had helped her get the interview with Hector, and she had messed that up, too. Surely, Hannya couldn’t help her get a job everywhere in Mystic Falls. She would likely ask Ayla to stop ruining her reputation sooner rather than later.
Was it because she kissed Hector? Or, rather, allowed Hector to kiss her? It seemed like it would help him. Perhaps it was better not to work at a place where something like that could happen between her and her boss, but Remzi didn’t seem to mind. In fact, he wasn’t upset at all. He’d laughed about it.
It wasn’t as if she’d enjoyed it. Hector certainly wasn’t a bad kisser, but she didn’t have feelings for him, and she assumed he didn’t have feelings for her, either━just for Evelyn. When he kissed her, though, she felt all his love pouring out of him and into her━Ayla only wished it had been meant for her. She wanted someone to love her that way. That was how it was supposed to be.
Ayla jumped when someone suddenly broke her focus and joined her in the booth, but her expression immediately faded into a smile. She was so happy to see Raik. Her stomach flooded with a warm, gentle feeling, and, suddenly, Ayla felt like everything would be okay again. “Hey,” She greeted him softly, in Turkish, and kept smiling until he mentioned Hector.
How did he know? Why did Remzi tell him?! She didn’t want Raik to know! He must’ve been the only person she didn’t want to find out! Maybe it should’ve been worse to tell Remzi, but… it wasn’t. She never planned on telling Raik. Ever.
“Oh.” Ayla puffed softly, visibly deflating, her eyes darting down and away. “Um… yes. But… it was only one time! He was very upset, and I wanted to make him feel better,” She frowned, meeting Raik’s gaze again. “Why did Remzi tell you? I asked him… he said it was okay! He said he didn’t mind. I don’t know why you would mind…” Ayla sounded defensive, though it was only because she felt so guilty. She didn’t want Raik to think of her any differently.

He shouldn’t have cared about whatever was going on between Ayla and Remzi because it was none of his business. Remzi wasn’t going to walk down the aisle with Ayla because he loved her, it was because their mom told him to do it. Similarly she wasn’t walking down the aisle because she loved Remzi, it was because she dreamt of a new life in America. They were both using each other. So, Raik should just have left them to do their own thing, but he couldn’t. He couldn’t just walk past Ayla in the bar without saying something to her. Now Hector was in the picture too. A man he stood no chance against. He tried to stop his mind from running away with the thought of Ayla and Hector together, knowing that there was a chance Remzi had misread the situation, even though he was damn certain when he was relaying the story to Raik. He should have packed his bags and moved back to Detroit when he had the chance. As soon as he was brought back to life he should have left Mystic Falls because now the place was filled with awful memories. Each time he walked down the street he remembered how he would walk down the street as a ghost, completely cut off from the world. But he couldn’t bring himself to leave Remzi behind, knowing their relationship needed fixing urgently. They’d spent months glueing it back together, piece by piece. There were still a few cracks, probably permanent ones too, but they were on the right path. An element of forgiveness had seeped through from Raik, knowing Remzi was truly sorry for what happened. Ultimately though he had to forgive Remzi, he was his brother. The questions about Hector came out before he could stop them, tumbling over his words as he did so. One time. His heart sunk deep into his stomach. It was true, Remzi hadn’t lied. “Make him feel better?” He exclaimed in disbelief. Had Hector coaxed her into bed? “I—” He took a moment, before letting his tongue run away again, “I don’t mind… I just thought you were fully committed to Remzi… I didn’t know you and him had that kind of relationship.” He knew Remzi was out there fully playing the field, but he didn’t expect the same from Ayla. The jealousy stung hard, knowing she’d chosen Hector over him. AYLA KIRAZ

━ kadınlar beğenince değil, güvenince âşık olur ━ WHY DID RAIK CARE SO MUCH? WAS HE ONLY defending his brother? It seemed Raik cared more about this marriage than Remzi did, and while it was normal to want to protect your siblings, Ayla didn’t appreciate his judgement. If everything was okay between her fiance and herself, then why did Raik’s opinion matter? And why did it hold so much weight in her own mind, where she silently begged for nothing to change between them despite this.
Ayla defended herself gently, trying to brush it off, though she grew irritated when it felt like Raik was judging her. Or perhaps that was her defensiveness spiralling out of control.
“Yes… he was very upset.” Her brows furrowed, wondering why Raik was so up in arms about this. It was just a kiss. It was a mistake, as well, and she never would have done it had the circumstances been at all different, but she felt guilty enough without Raik shaming her for it.
And why did he think he had the right to?!
Ayla frowned, her eyes narrowing at Raik. She heard the judgement in his voice. “Excuse me? Even if it was the kind of relationship we have, it wouldn’t concern you, as what goes on with me and my husband is none of your business.” She spat out in rapid-fire Turkish. The more upset she became, the more her voice began to rise. “And I don’t understand why you think you can walk up and confront me about this, and judge me as if it has anything to do with you. I’m not marrying you, Raik, I’m marrying your brother, and he told me he understood. That’s more than you need to know.” Tears gathered in her eyes. Ayla rushed to slip out of the booth, knowing she had no chance at getting a job here now, and nearly forgot her résumés.
She leaned forward to try to reach for them, then miscalculated and smacked the table. Ayla sniffled and blinked away her tears, trying to grab them again, though she was in too much of a rush to do anything right… not that she could even if she wasn’t rushed.

Raik’s face twisted into confusion. Hector? Upset? That was completely unheard of. The man lacked human emotions. Raik had spent enough time lingering in the bar as a ghost to notice that but somehow he’d all of sudden gained the ability to become upset? Raik wasn’t buying it. It wasn’t that he didn’t believe Ayla, he was convinced Hector convinced her to sleep with him and what angered him more was that he couldn’t confront Hector about the situation. Ayla snapped at Raik's comments, which took him by surprise. He’d never heard her raise her voice before, and he hated that the first time hearing it was when she was shouting at him. Remzi was her husband and Raik played zero part in their relationship. Her comments burned through his chest, leaving a mark. He couldn’t understand what was happening. Ayla had given off the impression that she was committed to Remzi and only Remzi, but that wasn’t the case. “I’m not judging you Ayla…” It was about the only thing he could say before he swallowed back his emotions. He wasn’t judging her, at all, he was bitter. Finding out Ayla had slept with Hector had left him feeling resentful. The tears forming in her eyes hit him hard, but envy got the better of him. “No. Don’t leave, I’m leaving.” But she was already rushing to her feet though, trying to grab the paperwork before her head collided with the table. Usually he would have rushed forward, wrapped his arms around her and made sure she was okay, but he was angry at her. Maybe a part of him was judging her after all, pissed at her for convincing him she was loyal to Remzi and would never sleep with another man. “I’ll leave you and my brother to get on with your relationship in whatever way you want and I’ll stay out of things… I’ll leave you alone from now on.” It wasn’t what Ayla was saying, but Raik had decided he needed to take a step back from the situation. He needed to put some distance between him and Ayla because his feelings were clearly getting in the way of things. The more time they spent together, the stronger the feelings grew and he wasn’t prepared to become invested with Ayla, especially if she was already busy sleeping with Hector. Raik climbed out of the booth, picking up a piece of paper that had fallen to the floor. He handed it over to Ayla, his eyes locking on hers for a moment. The feeling to embrace her and ask if her head was okay festered inside, but he ignored it, for his own sake. He pulled his gaze away from her and headed back towards the kitchen, with tears already stinging his eyes. AYLA KIRAZ - the end!
