Just like some Christmas miracle, Raik was back from the dead, leaving Leah with a list of bullshit magical items that she needed to collect for Cassie but most importantly it left her feeling lost. She promised Remzi she would make everything right again and she did, but now what? What did this mean for her and Remzi? She distracted herself from all those feelings that were developed deep inside by throwing herself back into work. Any ring that came she was there to answer it. Death hadn’t even noticed that she had been dismissing the calls for the past few months and thankfully no one had snitched on her. Either that or they hadn’t realised that Leah was just about pulling her weight in the job. If she was dealing with the dead she was down in the Emerald City throwing back shots and basking in the attention of other men. She followed none of them to their bed though, always making her back to Remzi at the end of the evening. It had been a while since she found herself waking up in a stranger's bed. What the fuck was happening to her? She found herself way too preoccupied with Raik and Remzi to even have time to flirt with the men down at the bar, but the first chance she got to go home with another man she turned him down because he wasn’t Remzi. None of it mattered because he would soon be heading back to Detroit to marry his new chick. One that had been hand selected for Remzi, apparently. Raik explained part of the back story to her, saying that some woman had been sent over from Turkey to marry Remzi. She did her best to keep a neutral expression on her face the whole time, but there was no way Remzi would marry someone. The guy couldn’t hold down a job, never mind a marriage. She pushed it to the back of her mind until now. The three were getting ready to head back to Detroit. Leah was jealous when she saw other girls talking to Remzi, even more so when they followed him out of the club but this was something different. This was real jealousy because this Ayla chick posed a threat to Leah. A genuine threat, not like those nasty girls down in the club he kept picking up. They meant nothing to Remzi, but there was a very small chance that Ayla could mean something to Remzi one day. She never remembered anyone’s birthday, simply because she didn’t give a shit about them in the first place. She knew Remzi’s birthday was coming up in September. This was later confirmed when she found out the whole reason they were going home was for the siblings' birthdays. So Leah went out of her way, headed to the store and actually bought Remzi a birthday cake. It was the most she’d ever done for another man. Part of her was hoping that he would remember this on his way up to Detroit and dump that bitch Ayla along the way. Toss her out of the car and onto the freeway if needed. She placed the cake down on the island in the kitchen, sliding it out of the box with care (since when did she do shit like this?) and tossed the cardboard in the trash. Immediately she frowned as she spotted the stranger emerge out of Hannya's bedroom. It wasn’t Hannya unless she’d dumped that body she’d inherited and picked up a new one. It can’t have been Hannya though, the clothes were far too conservative. “Who the fuck are you?” She snapped, as she edged forward resting her hands on the island. AYLA KIRAZ - wooooo

━ kadınlar beğenince değil, güvenince âşık olur ━ AYLA PACKED FURIOUSLY FOR THEIR TRIP to Detroit. She was mostly living out of her suitcase anyway━she didn’t want to unpack when there was nowhere to unpack, and Remzi said they were leaving soon, so what was the point? Thankfully, the kind, blonde lady (whose Turkish was pretty much perfect) allowed her to use the washing machine in her apartment, and even offered to let Ayla borrow a few clothes. Ayla, however, didn’t really like the woman’s style━there was nothing wrong with her clothes! They were just… too revealing, and Ayla didn’t think that was appropriate (or comfortable), despite the woman’s encouragement.
Slipping on a cute blouse (with puff sleeves which she loved) and black jeans, Ayla walked out of the ensuite and towards the kitchen. She was thankful she didn’t have to be Raik anymore━it was too stressful━but wished she hadn’t taken that last ‘spin’ with his body. It would’ve saved her quite a lot of embarrassment.
Actually, she didn’t even want to be in the same room with Raik at the moment. Had he told Remzi? Ugh, add him to the list, too. She’d rather hide under the covers until the shame subsided, but that wasn’t possible in someone else’s home.
Hearing someone shifting around in the kitchen, her stomach clenched uncomfortably. Ayla swallowed hard, slowing as she opened the door and walked out to… oh, who’s this? Another person staying here? The apartment reminded her of a clown car, with too many people stuffed inside, and yet she was somehow alone most of the time.
Offering a friendly smile, Ayla shifted closer, each step cautious. She was about to say hi, introduce herself, but was met with immediate hostility. Her English still wasn’t great (just another thing to be embarrassed about), but she knew what that meant, and she knew how the stranger meant it. Tone of voice knew no language barrier, and the woman was angry at her, though Ayla couldn’t think of any reason for it.
Immediately, tears glimmered in her wide eyes, lips parted in shock, though her jaw didn’t hang near to the floor. “Um,” Ayla began, unsure. She froze in place, shoulders curling in as if to shield herself, hands gathered together nervously. “Ayla. Remzi… my fiance. Err, not yet. Soon.” Forcing a smile━which looked like she was about to pee her pants in fright━Ayla took a hesitant step closer, eyeing the cake on the counter.
It must’ve been for Raik and Remzi, she thought, since that’s why they were going to their parents’ house. “You bring cake?” Her smile was just a hair brighter. “Very nice. Very… ah,” Ayla paused for a moment, then (once she found the word) happily proclaimed, “Delicious!”

Like most little girls Leah had a dream unattainable wedding set up in her mind as a child. A dream that faded away once she hit sixteen and found out the gold band on her mom's finger didn’t mean anything. People still lied and cheated even though they vowed they never would. All marriages were doomed to fail so Leah swore to herself she would never get caught up in that bullshit. Relationship and love? None of it was real. There were enough men (and women) out there to keep her satisfied without having to commit to one but now suddenly she was craving one person in particular. She wasn’t even craving him just sexually but emotionally. Without him she felt like a part of her was missing. She craved for him to slip back into bed with her. That same person was about to walk down the aisle with another woman. It hurt more than she cared to admit. It was fucking bullshit. Remzi probably couldn’t even spell the word marriage. Somehow a birthday cake was going to make everything better though. Remzi was going to ditch this Turkish bitch and come back to Leah because she was the best thing that had ever happened to him. They argued constantly, but there were feelings brewing beneath those fights. She’d seen it in his eyes, the night she told him Raik was dead. There was something inside him that needed her and not Ayla. What the fuck was this bitch going to provide? There was no need for an introduction the woman’s broken English was enough for Leah to deduce who the fuck she was. Fiancé. Leah hadn’t even managed to secure the title of girlfriend but Ayla had surpassed her to obtain a higher title. Were there tears in Ayla's eyes? He was marrying a weak bitch. “Leah. Remzi's fuck buddy.” She grabbed an empty wine bottle off the side, wrapping her lips around the top before slowly sliding the neck of the bottle deeper into her mouth until it touched the back of her throat. She began to mimic a sucking movement before removing the bottle from her mouth. “You understand that, yes?” The woman might not speak English but surely she could understand what Leah was trying to say. Leah was ready to tear Ayla’s head off if she touched the cake. This was for Remzi, not her. “Obviously I brought cake.” She muttered, glaring at Ayla whose smile was just a little too friendly. She waited, listening to Ayla trying to thread together her English before she spoke. “You can’t say it's delicious without tasting it.” She pulled the cake away from Ayla quickly. “This is for Remzi. Not you.” She didn’t want him to walk through the door and find his birthday cake ruined by this whore’s fingers. “He will never love you by the way.” She spat fiercely. The anger was spilling out from every pore in her body, more than she could control. AYLA KIRAZ

━ kadınlar beğenince değil, güvenince âşık olur ━ AYLA COULD NOT UNDERSTAND WHY THIS woman hated her so much. They had never met before! Before Ayla could even speak to her, the woman had something awful to say, and though she tried to introduce herself in a friendly manner despite it, the stranger━Leah━decided to be… obscene.
Her eyes blew wide, tears almost immediately drying up from them, replaced by pure shock. Was he… her future husband was with someone else? Ayla knew she couldn’t have expected Remzi to have never been with anyone before her, but she assumed he would’ve broken off any other relationships when he agreed to have her come here! Or perhaps any of the times they’d spoken over the phone in the last few months?! Well… maybe she shouldn’t feel so bad for staring at Raik as she did, then.
Alright, no, Ayla still felt bad.
“Yes.” She spoke quietly, swallowing hard. She didn’t want to know, but she had to… “Is he… he expecting you to visit? You are both still seeing…?” She knew the phrase━seeing each other━but Ayla was still too shocked to get it all out.
Still, Ayla tried. But Leah was rudely correcting her, seeming irritated by Ayla’s mere presence. Growing frustrated, Ayla’s dark brows furrowed, a deep frown pulling at her features. She couldn’t understand why Leah hated her so much━they had never met before! And Ayla was the one set to marry Remzi; she was the one in the right!
Not only was Leah speaking harshly, but she tore the cake away as if Ayla was a child with sticky fingers. And then she said something awful, totally unprompted, and Ayla finally exploded, “You are very rude!” She puffed, shaking her head, “I do not understanding what I do to make you be so rude, but I do not like it. Remzi will be my husband, that is why he bringing me here. He will learn to love me, and he will forgetting about you, because that is reason I came to America!” Ayla didn’t know which of them she was convincing, all she knew was that she was upset, and she wouldn’t take any more abuse from a stranger after already having an awful time here so far.

It went without saying that Leah was the type to bully girls like Ayla in school. They were an easy practice and the tears brimming in Ayla’s eyes were evidence of that. In fact, if Leah ripped the skin on Ayla’s back open there would be no spine in there. As expected, Ayla was totally taken aback by Leah’s vulgar comments and actions. So, not only was Remzi marrying a weak woman he was also marrying a complete prude. Wow, they were going to have such a fun marriage. “No he’s not expecting me to visit… the cake is a…” A surprise, but that sounded too nice. “We’re still sleeping together if that’s what you mean.” Seeing each other meant that they had some kind of relationship going on and she didn’t want Ayla running back to Remzi using such phrases. Leah knew she was being a complete bitch to Ayla, gearing up to tear chunks off the woman, but it wasn’t Ayla’s fault Remzi lacked a pair of balls and couldn’t tell his parents he didn’t want to marry someone. Maybe if Leah was cruel enough to Ayla she would pack her bags and head back to wherever the fuck she came from. There was a smirk on Leah’s face as Ayla bit back at her. Perhaps the woman did have a spine in there somewhere, albeit very weak, but the smirk soon faded from her face as Ayla continued speaking, telling her Remzi would forget about her one day. The claws were coming out and Leah was ready to swipe. “Remzi loves two things. Human blood and jumping into bed with random women. You’ll never change him because he doesn’t wanna change.” Remzi was going to hate being married to this bitch. She then let out a cold short laugh, “No it’s actually hilarious that you think Remzi will forget about me… you mean absolutely nothing to him and never will.” It was something she had been telling herself over and over because she wouldn’t allow herself to think that someone else was about to replace her in Remzi’s life. ━ kadınlar beğenince değil, güvenince âşık olur ━ AYLA WAS SURPRISED ANYONE WANTED to fight for this man. Her understanding, even before coming to the United States, was that Remzi had no career and desperately needed a wife to help him get his life together. Ayla was willing to be that woman if he was willing to work at it, but it did not seem he was. He was still seeing… sleeping with Leah… that was proof enough.
In any case, why was Leah so angry over him? If it was only about sex, then why was he so important to her? It brought a heat to Ayla’s face to imagine what he must be like in bed if she was so unwilling to let him go.
But… no, no, Ayla wouldn’t think about that. She couldn’t. Especially not when it involved another woman and her future husband.
It seemed Ayla’s attempt at standing up for herself was amusing to the woman. She didn’t gasp or take a step back, and Ayla no longer felt the edge of triumph that’d been building since her reply. Ayla couldn’t win this game because she didn’t know how to play and, even if she did, she’d never be good at it. One thing was for sure, though━this girl was wounded, and even if Ayla couldn’t jab her back where it hurt, she could relate. Sometimes, people were just prickly because they needed love and care, and clearly Remzi was not very good at offering any. That would have to change, too.
She couldn’t pretend Leah’s words didn’t sting, though. Ayla frowned and furrowed her brow, a deeply hurt expression crossing her face. She knew Remzi was not the most stand-up man in the world━not like his brother━but she was looking forward to growing with him. As people, but also growing old. They would both change, and Leah would have to let go.
Ayla sighed softly, a soft look of pity overtaking her features. “I understand you are loving him a lot,” She started gently, reaching out to lay her hand on Leah’s arm. Ayla might get her wrist bent back and snapped, but it would heal━and perhaps Leah needed the comfort more than Ayla was scared to risk her pain. “But I have come here for him. I do not go home. Here is my only life… Remzi is only choice for me. I cannot choose different. I am sorry. He never telling us he has other woman already.” She smiled sadly, wishing this would all get easier for Leah… even if it couldn’t be with Ayla’s fiancé.

She wasn’t about to slam this bitch’s head into the counter top because she was marrying Remzi but because Ayla was trying to take a man from her. That wouldn’t slide with her. It didn’t matter that it was Remzi, at least that's what she told herself to help her sleep better at night. But if Remzi was going to play that game with her then she needed to find another man to keep her company, maybe even go as far as sporting a fake engagement ring just to fuck with him. The club was crawling with potential victims. Violence was kept a bay though, for now. Her job in the world was to stay neutral, which was near impossible. Why the fuck didn’t Remzi say no to this pay-as-you-go bride? Or send her back to Turkey telling her he wasn’t interested? Unless he was. Perhaps his little humanity free trip made him want to settle down with someone. But why Ayla? Then Ayla’s face changed, giving Leah a look of pity which enraged her even more. “Loving him?” The L word didn’t belong in Leah’s vocabulary. A word she would never utter to anyone. There was a look of disgust as Ayla reached forward, attempting to rest her hand on Leah’s. Immediately she snapped her hand away from Ayla’s touch. “Don’t touch me.” This woman actually pitied Leah and that hurt because she wasn’t some wounded animal who needed help. Then she smiled at Leah as she apologised for bulldozing into Remzi’s life. “Don’t fucking smile at me.” She snatched the cake off the table. The only place it belonged now was in the trash and it would be the last time she ever tried to do anything nice for Remzi. She could feel the pain building in her chest. She wanted to cry, to release all of the confusing emotions. It was getting too much. “Good luck with Remzi. Your marriage to him will be awful and he’ll never be faithful to you.” She spun around, marching toward the door before throwing it open and leaving the apartment. Once she was outside she headed straight for the dumpster, casting one last glance at the birthday cake before throwing it into the trash. AYLA KIRAZ - the end!
