It happened sometime through the night. If she hadn't been so utterly exhausted after fighting sleep, she might have been awake when it occurred. But instead, Maeve woke when light began filtering through the frosted glass window of her makeshift prison. She turned on her side, her muscles protesting the movement. She must have slept hard, her body like a coiled spring ready to shoot forward.
It took her a moment to realize that she was no longer alone.
Maeve sprung up, her heart pounding against her ribcage as she took in the figure lying on the ground. A woman --- that much she could tell, although her blonde hair covered her face at the moment. Given her position on the floor, Maeve doubted that she had come there willingly to to lay down and sleep. "Hello," she called tentatively. As much as she would like to rush forward to help, she was becoming well aware of just how much of a trickster the devil who brought her there was. This could be a trap --- a way to pay her back for all the trouble she had caused thus far.
In the end, her heart was far too soft for her to hold back.
Maeve moved to the fallen woman's side, reaching out to brush the hair away from her face. "Please wake up," she began softly. "Don't give that bastard the satisfaction of dying on his floor. Trust me, he would enjoy that fact." Even if it contradicted whatever idea that had gone through his head to bring them there in the first place. "He made a big mistake bringing you here because now there are two of...and I get the feeling you've still got enough fight in you to make this really hard on him..." She realized she was rambling a bit. Her hand landed on the side of the blonde's face. "But first you have to open your eyes."

❝ Somewhere Over The Rainbow... Skies Are Blue❞
Darkness swirled around her. Similar nightmares haunted her during her time unconscious. Sirens swarmed around her, her brother and Lorna as they tried to make their escape from the den. Lorna’s throat being ripped out as a siren killed her and her brother snapped. On the outside she looked peaceful, her mind was anything but. Shifted to her latest nightmare, her face down with Klaus Mikaelson in her brother’s shop. In this dream she had made it out of the shop… only to be so close to help before she was rendered unconscious.
She felt nothing while being moved no idea where she was being taken to. When she started to come to she heard someone talking to her. But she couldn’t really make sense of them. She moved her head her eyes still closed as she moaned. Wow her head hurt.
” But first you have to open your eyes.”
Her eyes started to flutter as she tried to take in her surroundings, ” Where…” Mandy swallowed a bit as she found her voice and tried speaking again, ” Where am I?” Mandy asked, to whoever it was that had just been speaking to her. The days events had just come back to her, and she snapped upright then in a panic. Her head span, greeting the little birds that spun around her head. Sitting upright too quick made her dizzy and something she instantly regretted.
She tried not to be rude to the woman in front of her… something told her she wasn’t an enemy. She had been touching her face a minute ago and telling her to open her eyes, ” Who are you?” She asked, trying to keep her voice from quivering. She tried not to let the panic sink in…

Thankfully the girl started to come around. Maeve practically breathed a sigh of relief, her shoulders falling. "Oh, good, that's good," she began, stating the obvious. She sat back a little to give her room, not wanting to overwhelm her all at once. However, she could plainly see how the younger woman reacted when she sat up. "Be careful --- give yourself a moment or two." She remembered her kneejerk reaction when she first came around in this place. The nausea alone had her laying on her side and praying for relief.
Hopefully it wouldn't be as bad for the newcomer.
Maeve felt her anger spike again as it had when it became obvious that she was no longer alone. Klaus had to take someone else? What the hell was he trying to do? Erect his own coven? Like hell would she bow to that madman and she had a feeling that her new roommate would feel the same way.
"This place is owned by Klaus Mikaelson --- he took you." Whether Klaus had done the deed himself or had someone else do his dirty work, Maeve had no idea but she assumed that the name would be familiar. "I have no idea where we are but I know I am far enough away from Ireland, from home..." It was feeling that she had. Whether or not the girl would feel as if she was far from home too remained to be seen.
"Maeve." She said her name softly and punctuated it with a smile. "Maeve Kelly. I am sorry that we have to meet under such circumstances but I promise you that I am not here to hurt you. We are on the same side of this."

❝ Somewhere Over The Rainbow... Skies Are Blue❞
Her head swam with the cute little birdies circling round in her head. Vision blurred as she tried to sit up a little too quickly. It cleared enough to see the voice that she heard first coming to belonging to a blonde woman. Also heard the warning to be careful… could have done with that advice a little sooner. But she still would have shot straight up regardless.
She asked where she was… who she was. As she mentioned Klaus Mikaelson… everything came back. He had come into his brother’s shop. At first, he had seemed just like any other customer. Looking for something to protect his daughter. What a fool she had been to believe that. He did nothing but protect himself, ” Yes I remember now.” Mandy murmured to herself. She had hoped her flames might have at least got her away… but in the end her magic hadn’t been enough against the ancient hybrid.
She managed to sit up and physically felt alright. He hadn’t hurt her, at least until he had knocked her unconscious… wanted her for something. This woman as well it appeared, ” Why are you here?” Mandy asked her, as she tried to take in her surroundings, trying to figure a way out of here.
She heard her explain how far from home she was, and she found herself longing for London, ” I’m from London… Though I moved to America with my older brothers.” Mandy explained, she knew how she felt. She missed London but of course, for now Mystic Falls was her home… Oh God her brothers. Darcey… She then started to worry more for her elder brother than herself, ” I need to get out of here…” Mandy concluded as she got to her feet.
She wasn’t even going to bother with the door that would just be too easy… to obvious. She went to the window trying to get some idea of where she was. She smiled when she gave her name, ” Mandy.” She gave her name in return. A though then occurred to her, ” How long have you been here?” She asked, dreading the answer.

It took the younger woman a moment or two to come around properly but when she did, it became clear that she remembered. Maeve could practically see the memories playing across her face. Klaus --- that monster. He clearly had decided that she was not enough. Maeve was not insulted. She knew her power, her limitations. She knew what she could and could not do. Whatever Klaus had in mind was beyond her and therefore this girl had to be dragged in as well. She couldn't help but wonder if there would be others. If they would be forced to make their own coven in the bowels of this place.
Maeve stuck close to ensure that there were no relapses with the woman passing back out. Her eyes moved carefully looking for any obvious signs of injury and was somewhat relieved to see nothing too serious. "Because I am a witch and you are one too, right?" Maeve saw no reason to hold back, to lie. "Klaus wants us here because he wants magic at his beck and call. He hasn't revealed his master plan yet but I suspect he will now that he has collected you. I am sorry that you were dragged here."
She furrowed her brows when she said London. Close to Ireland, close to home. She knew the Kelly family had connections near and far. She wondered if this family of witches was among them. A thread that could be pulled on later down the road, when they were free. She took a deep breath. "Your brothers --- how long do you think it will take for them to notice that you are gone?" She felt a sliver of hope --- that there might be a rescue close by, one that might be able to help not just Mandy but her as well.
"It has been over a week I think. Long enough to be noticed I am gone but I have a feeling that they can't locate me in this little room. It's a perfect little magic prison."

❝ Somewhere Over The Rainbow... Skies Are Blue❞
Mandy couldn’t be here right now. They had come to America to visit Nicky, as Darcey in England was just slowing fading away. Lost in the memories of his wife. Things had been getting better, slowly… but she worried about him still. She couldn’t be here. She was supposed to be looking out for him… She banged a few more times against the door but it wouldn’t budge. Groaning audibly, she started looking around for alternative methods.
Mandy was doing all this while talking to the other woman in the room with her. She looked back at her when she announced that she was a witch, ” Yeah, I am. Not a very good one…” Mandy shrugged a little, she admitted. Somethings she was good at, others she wasn’t. Fire control came to her easily. A simple locator spell either didn’t work or went horribly wrong.
Picking up a wooden chair she stalked over to the window, throwing the chair at it. The chair shattered and the window remained unbroken. She cursed under her breath and picked up one of the sharp pieces of wood from the floor, ” Stakes might not work but they will slow him down… if he ever makes an appearance….” Mandy commented to the broken chair, ” I wish I hadn’t wasted the chair… throwing the chair at him would have been momentarily satisfying…” Mandy mused mostly to herself.
Mandy asked how long she had been here sinking down onto one of the beds. Maeve had been here for over a week… that didn’t sit well with her. The only comfort she had was knowing her brothers were at least in town… and would turn it over trying to find her, ” A few hours. They probably know by now.” Mandy guessed… she guessed she had been out for a few hours already. Nicky had only been going out for a little while… he should have been back at the store by now.
” We won’t be here long. My brothers won’t stop looking for me.” Mandy promised her.

Maeve raised her brows at Mandy's immediate answer. "He must have saw something in you --- you are more powerful than you think," she pointed out. She doubted that Klaus did anything without carefully considering it. Mandy was younger than here so maybe she was not as practiced but she as beginning to think that all Klaus wanted was that potential. He wanted raw power and she was afraid to learn why.
She watched as Mandy heaved a chair at the window, shattering the furniture and not the glass. "I tried something similar," she admitted. "And I am still here so you see how well that worked. I don't know what it is about this room --- whether it is charmed, cursed or hexed." She would think it was clever if it was not for the fact that she was now trapped in it. She laughed, turning towards Mandy now. "I would like to see you through that myself but I haven't see him. Only the brother. Elijah." There conversation was burned into her memory and she wasn't sure what to share with the younger witch. In the end, she figured that they were in this together from here on out. "I don't think he agrees with what his brother has done. He has told me that he is working on a chance for release. Whether or not I believe him is another story but he seemed sincere. However, I get the feeling that very few speak up to Klaus."
She hadn't allowed herself to gather hope after the conversation with Elijah (okay, there had been some but she knew better than to cling to it). Now it began to bloom. A witch with two brothers right here in town? Ones that would know she was gone? That was the closest thing to a rescue she had heard of since she arrived there.
"Are they powerful? Klaus is a beast. Can they overcome him?" She felt as if most were walking into a certain death with that man. She wanted to be realistic. "I'm sorry, I shouldn't say such things. I don't want to scare you. I just...they will have to be careful around him."

❝ Somewhere Over The Rainbow... Skies Are Blue❞
Mandy had always thought that in comparison to her brothers at least she was a poor witch indeed. That was to be expected though… She had only been wielding it a handful of years in comparison to their decades. It was strange how something would come to her so naturally and others eluded her entirely, ” Well you really haven’t seen much yet. Just this morning I touched a talisman and accidentally lit a cloth. Only moments after promising my brother I wouldn’t burn down his shop…” Mandy managed to joke despite her situation.
Mandy wasn’t about to give up quite so easily. Lifting a chair, she heaved it at the window. All that managed was shattering the chair and not the glass. She glared at the chair like it offended her because it had. Then instead of letting it go to waste, she lifted a shaft of the wood testing the broken end. Certainly, wouldn’t be easy getting in a heart, but should an opportunity present itself… she wouldn’t be unprepared.
Mandy then suddenly mused out loud that throwing the chair at Klaus might have been more satisfying. Hopes dashed when Maeve admitted that she had yet to of seen their captor. She had seen his brother, Elijah, but not the hybrid himself. Maeve shared the discussion that she had with the other brother and Mandy simply looked at her, ” Negotiations can’t be going well then…” Mandy said flatly, that hope dashing.
The only hope that she could see was her brothers. She mentioned that she wouldn’t be here long, her brothers would turn the town upside down to look for her, ” Together they might. They are older than me, they have been using magic for longer.” Mandy explained. Alone perhaps Klaus could overcome one of them. Together… Mandy smirked to herself. If she could find it in her, she could actually start to feel sorry for the hybrid, ” If I could find it in me, having my brothers in his path… I almost feel sorry for him. But he is a monster, so I don’t. He deserves what is undoubtedly coming to him.” Mandy admitted.

Maeve raised both her eyebrows as the explanation Mandy put forth. "You are gifted in the element of fire. Interesting --- and a bit unpredictable right now. When you get out of here you will find a way to tame it." Fire was not the element that she felt drawn to. Air. She loved how it danced through her hair and slid across her skin. She could call up a tempest to blow this place down if she had her power. She was that angry. Now it wasn't just her. It was a girl that should be working on honing her gifts, not worrying about Klaus taking advantage of them. Why he thought he deserved to have that level of control was beyond her. She doubted she and Mandy were the first witches that found themselves at Klaus Mikaelson's mercy. She would like to say they would be the last but she was not confident in their chances.
She watched as Mandy continued to destroy pieces of their furniture in hopes of gaining their freedom. She said nothing, deciding to let the other woman get some of her frustrations out. She understood that primal need to fight tooth and nail. She had done the same thing, only to have that fight drained from her as time went on. Seeing someone else do the same was almost inspirational in a way. If she thought it would make a difference she would throw a chair too. She would settle for trying to break it over the head of one of those hideous creatures that did Klaus' bidding instead. She knew she would pay for it in the end but since Klaus needed her alive, she thought it would be worth it.
"I suspect the same...when it comes to Elijah, In the end, he will defer to his brother because I think Klaus has never been told no a day in his life," Maeve commented wryly. She felt that she had to put her faith in Mandy's brothers too. Two powerful witches fighting for family? That had to count for something. There was power in love, in familial bonds --- they could use that to their advantage. "If you say your brothers are coming, than I believe you. I hope they hit him where it hurts. I hope that in the end, Klaus realizes he cannot just take what he wants. There are consequences to what he has done." She envisioned pain for the monster that took her from her family. A family she wanted no where near here for fear that they might not make it out alive. She didn't share that fear with Mandy. She had put so much faith in her brothers. "What are their names? These brothers of yours." Perhaps if she could keep her distracted from the reality of the situation that would help.
