Had she caused some kind of rift between Elijah and Klaus? She hoped so. Fuel was only added to the fire when she realised Elijah hadn’t even told his brother about what happened that evening over a thousand years ago. ABout how he compelled Aurora to break Klaus’ heart. The man became more and more insufferable by the day (which she didn’t think was possible).

She was still bitter though. That family had everything they wished for and more yet they were determined to shatter everyone else's life. Aurora longed to leave Mystic Falls. Run off somewhere with Damien, where they could be happy and away from everyone else. Obviously, she was assuming that was exactly what Damien wanted. Why wouldn’t he? Everything had been going swimmingly well between the two. She hadn’t managed to sabotage any element of their relationship (that is what she was viewing it as now). Maybe it was the absence of Tristan that allowed her to flourish on her own, that he promised he’d be back soon. Keeping her tethered to Mystic Falls just a little longer with no desire to play her games with Tristan. Classic game of hide and seek where she flees to the other side of the world and he is left sending his little vampire army after her.

There was no reason for her to run, yet. Her brother hadn’t come back to see what kind of mess she’d created in his absence, which was minimal. She’d only threatened to dismember Elijah and robbed a bank with Damien. It was trivial.

She stepped out of the Grill, admiring the new ring that lay on finger beside her daylight ring, by virtue of the bank robber of course. She couldn't understand why people would be so foolish to trust the bank with their prized possessions. Realistically she should be thanking them for being fools with her new dazzling diamond that caught the sunlight in just the right way. It had been so long since she had been gifted with a new piece of jewellery. They were always keen to strip her of her possession in those asylums and she didn’t linger around to collect before breaking out.

Aurora let her hand fall by her side after she was finished appreciating the diamond. Her eyes scanned the streets, knowing her brother could decide to pop up at any moment. Either that or send his spies to watch her, to make sure she was on her best behaviour. A bar that was set very low for her.

She started to stroll away from the Grill, red locks bouncing with each step until she came to a sudden halt. The person a few steps behind her almost collided into the back of her, but luckily for the stranger he didn’t. News of Klaus and Hayley’s daughter ripped through the supernatural world, much like news of a serial killer in a small village would. It was a shock. Aurora herself was shocked, with added envy of course. Pictures of this miracle child circulated soon after. She was a walking target. Anyone who wanted their revenge against Klaus only had to go after Hope, afterall the loss of a child is tragic.

Aurora promised Tristan she wouldn’t liaise with the Mikaelsons, but that promise was broken the moment she turned up at Elijah’s apartment welding an axe. Another one wouldn’t hurt, right? “I had a feeling we would encounter one another at some point. The very person who tips the scales of nature so harshly” The exact logic behind Hope’s birth was explained, but it still left Aurora wondering.
