Diego knew that being a dragon meant that he would have a long life ahead of him but the truth was that he had never really thought about the future too much. For a long time he had drifted through life not really knowing what he wanted but now he really did see himself having a future with Tommy and he was looking forward to every moment that they would have together. There was a time when he might have been scared of the idea of moving in with a boyfriend and putting down roots but with Tommy everything was so different. Diego truly loved him and he knew that he wanted to have a life with him no matter how long or short it might end up being. Tommy was a kitsune which meant that whether or not he continued to age was his choice but Diego wasn’t sure what he would decide in the end. Either way Diego knew that he wasn’t going anywhere, he knew that he would stay with Tommy even if they were only able to spend one lifetime together.

“I love how you always see the best in people,” Diego admitted. Tommy had been like that from the very beginning, he had seen the good in Diego when Diego hadn’t been so sure that there was any good to see in him after what had happened. As time went on he had started to come around to Tommy’s way of thinking though and it had to be said that Diego much preferred the positive outlook on life. “You’re pretty special yourself, you could have run when I told you what happened but you didn’t.” Diego knew that he was never going to be able to thank Tommy enough for that and he never wanted it to change. “You don’t need to do that baby, knowing that you see it that way is good enough for me,” Diego assured him. Whether or not his parents agreed he wasn’t sure but the fact that Tommy saw it that way really did mean the world to him. “You’re right, he is a twisted asshole and I hope you never have the displeasure of meeting him,” he said gently. He wanted to keep Tommy and his ex as far apart as he possibly could so he hoped that their paths would never cross. “I’m sure my parents will love you either way,” Diego said, a smile touching his lips as he looked over at Tommy.

As Tommy said it was hard not to kiss him breathless right now, Diego couldn’t help but laugh. “I don’t think you should hold back,” he chuckled, knowing that he wanted nothing more than to feel Tommy’s lips against his right now. “Don’t worry, the walls here are pretty thick,” he added, a playful smile forming on his face as his eyes met Tommy’s. Normally they didn’t have to worry about privacy since they always stayed at Tommy’s but Diego knew that it wouldn’t be a problem here either. “Moving sucks but it will definitely be worth it,” he nodded, glad that with any luck it would be their last move for a while. Diego knew that they would only be able to stay in town for so long before people started to realise that they weren’t ageing but with any luck they wouldn’t have to worry about that for quite a few years. “I’m not as good a cook as my brother but I’ll try,” he chuckled, a contented smile touching his lips as Tommy ran his fingers through his hair. “You deserve all of this and so much more,” Diego assured him as Tommy said he didn’t know how he had got this lucky. “I would say you should do that but I don’t think my captain would think it was very professional,” he chuckled before leaning forward and pressing his lips against Tommy’s as Tommy’s hand found his cheek. “I love you too.”
