━ i’ll be all the poets, and every time love’s written, it will be to you. ━
Ethan whispered a soft 'wow' as he stepped into the school. Now, don't get him wrong, it wasn't his first time stepping inside the threshold, but it still never fails to take his breath away. It was built and designed so well that it felt homely. It had a lingering smell of freshly baked cookies and one look into the living room area near the fireplace was enough for him to see that there were a few students sitting there with cookies in their hands, enjoying and savoring every bite. "Man, if only I had a school like this back then—" Ethan trailed off, lost in his surroundings for a moment, noticing how there were a few students practicing their magic so openly, without any fear of judgment and without worrying for their safety. "So cool." He whispered, still amazed like the first time he'd stepped into the school.
But he wasn't here to admire the special abilities of the students here (even though he definitely liked doing that), he was here to seek answers on how to break the curses that were looming over his daughters. He wasn't alone, either. Of course he wasn't. It was guaranteed at this point that if you ever spot Ethan anywhere, Toni would be there by his side. They were like two peas in a pod. Attached at the hip. Inseparable.
And truthfully, Ethan would never complain about that. Ever. "Okay, okay. I'm stopping before I freak them out with my fanboying or something." Ethan cleared his throat to grasp any sort of professionalism left in his body and focused on what they were here for. It was much more important, anyway. "Alright, so... Mission one, find Henrik Mikaelson. Shouldn't be hard since he's a teacher here." Ethan hummed and took a quick look around him, curious eyes taking in his surroundings before he spotted a closed door with a sign that said 'staff room' on it. He reached for Toni to grab his attention, giving his shoulder a gentle squeeze before he jerked his chin at the direction of the room. "We could start there. Safe start, right?"

Ever since the girls were left on his doorstep when they were just babies Antonio had been trying to find a way to break the curse that had been placed on Samara’s family generations before. Even now he still didn’t know exactly how it worked or how it had started but he knew that it had affected every member of Samara’s bloodline that he knew of and he wasn’t going to risk losing his daughters to that same curse. He hadn’t known that he was ready to become a dad until they came along but he had loved them from the moment that he had seen them and he knew that he was never going to let anything bad happen to them. His family knew about the curse and they had been doing their best to find a way to break it as well but other than that he had been shouldering it alone for such a long time. Now he didn’t have to worry about that any longer because he had Ethan to share everything with and Antonio couldn’t deny that he was glad that his husband was there with him that day. For the first time in a long time Antonio felt hopeful, they had found a lead about a warlock who could hopefully help break the curse and it turned out that he worked at the school that their children attended. Elias had talked about Henrik a bit after the guy gave him the project that had revealed that Ethan was his biological father after all and Antonio had a feeling that if anyone would be able to help it was him. “You got that right,” Antonio nodded as he looked around them in awe. This had never seemed possible while he was growing up but things had changed now and he knew that was a good thing. “I’m glad the kids have this place to learn about what they are,” he added. It hadn’t been that way for them, Antonio had at least grown up knowing what he was but Ethan hadn’t had a clue until he had come back to life. Things were so different now but Antonio only wanted the best for their children and he knew that Ethan did too so it was good to know that they had a place where they could be themselves without having to worry. “Thank you for being here,” Antonio said gently even though he knew that Ethan was just as eager to find a way to break the curse as he was. Antonio had been honest with him about it from the day they first got together and they had been working together to find a way to break it ever since and now he hoped that the finishing line was finally in sight. “That’s probably a good idea,” he teased his husband. “Hopefully not, I just hope he can help us,” he admitted. If he couldn’t then Antonio really didn’t know what they were going to do but he knew that thinking like that wasn’t going to help them right now, he needed to stay positive and he refused to give up on their girls. “Pretty safe I think,” he nodded before leading in the direction of the staff room and knocking on the door before opening it. “Of course that would have been too easy,” he said, pushing the door open fully so Ethan could see that the room was empty. “Let’s try some of the classrooms. If not we’ll try and find Ric or Jenna, they should be able to help us.”ETHAN ALVAREZ

You got that right, I’m glad the kids have this place to learn about what they are,
Ethan nodded his head, knowing that the kids will be safe here, surrounded by other supernatural beings. It'd help them realize that they can co-exist with the other creatures, too. No rivalry, or anything like that. Just ... peace. Who wouldn't want that, honestly? "Our lives would have been so much easier back then if we had something like this." Ethan voiced his thoughts out loud with a small hum falling from his lips as he buried his free hand inside the pocket of his black jacket. "But then again, maybe it's our sacrifices that gave our girls and boys what they have today. Our blood, sweat, and tears and all of that." Ethan shrugged his shoulders, knowing that he wasn't envious of what they have right now. He was happy for them.
Really happy. Thank you for being here, That’s probably a good idea,
"There's nowhere else I'd rather be." Ethan said with a gentle smile tugging at his lips. "It's about time we find a way to break this curse. We won't lose them." He promised with a nod of his head. He had no idea where that confidence came from, but he was aware that they were going to do everything in their might to find a way to break that curse. He chuckled at Toni's teasing, nudging him with his arm. "It's not my fault their powers look cool as hel... heck. Cool as heck." He cleared his throat, making sure to limit any bad language to not scar any younger peers for life.
Hopefully not, I just hope he can help us, Pretty safe I think, Of course that would have been too easy, Let’s try some of the classrooms. If not we’ll try and find Ric or Jenna, they should be able to help us.
"He seems like a really capable guy. He helped Elias, so hopefully, he'll be able to help us. If not, we'll find another way. I promise." Ethan assured his husband with a gentle squeeze of his hand. "Alright, let's go." He watched with hopeful eyes as Toni approached the staff room before his expression turned into one of surprise as he began approaching as well when he heard Toni's next words. "Oh." The room was devoid of any teachers. Dam--- Dang.
"It's okay. This is only our first stop. We'll find him, don't worry." Ethan assured with a soft smile on his lips before he nodded his head when Toni suggested trying some of the classrooms. "Alright, sounds like a good plan. Let's go." Ethan began making his way toward the classrooms, peering inside the small window on the door that allowed them to take a look inside. He shook his head when he noticed that the teacher inside was a woman. "Not this one." Ethan gestured forward so they could keep searching. "Do you wanna split up? It could probably save us some time, but I kinda don't wanna let go of your hand."

Antonio had grown up knowing what he was and he had also known what had happened to he children that his parents had had before him. Suddenly the way they had seemed reluctant to get too close to him had made sense but he had always been careful and that hadn't changed. He knew that his life would have been so different if he had been able to go to a school like this and it would have been the same for Ethan as well. Now the school was a safe haven for the kids and not a day went by when he wasn't glad that he had decided to move to Mystic Falls with the girls. The town was a their home and he knew that they were happy at the school, not to mention their family had grown in a way that Antonio had never thought possible so he knew that he wouldn't have it any other way. "They really would but I'm never going to regret the way our lives worked out because they brought us back together at a time when we were ready to admit what is going on between us," Antonio said gently. If they hadn't found themselves thrown together the way they had been then they might not have ended up do close and that was something he didn't even want to think about. "I like that way of thinking," he added as Ethan said that perhaps their blood sweat and tears had made this possible. "Ric and Jenna really are doing something incredible here." The school was the only one of its kind and he was so glad that their kids had the chance to go. "We can't lose them," Antonio said, knowing that it would break his heart to lose their two little girls. Samara had given them up because she had known that her curse was kicking in and he refused to let Ela and Eli go through the same thing. Losing Samara to the curse had been bad enough and they hadn't known each other for very long or very well but when it came to the girls he had raised them ever since they were left on his doorstep and he knew that he couldn't lose either of them. It had come as a relief to be able to confide in Ethan and have him shoulder some of the weight of the curse. They had been following lead after lead together ever since Antonio had told him about the curse and now he hoped that they had finally found a solution. He had been trying to figure it all out on his own for such a long time and it was a relief not to have to worry about that any longer. "Censoring yourself so as not to offend the kids? I like it," Antonio teased, pretty sure that they would have appreciated it too. "They are pretty cool though," he added. "There are more species here than I ever knew existed."As Ethan spoke again, Antonio nodded. "From what Elias told me, he thinks Henrik already knew you were his dad when he set the assignment. If he's right I won't be surprised if he knows about the girls too," he said, hoping with everything he had that Henrik would be able to help them. He couldn't deny that he felt a little reassured when Ethan squeezed his hand and he squeezed Ethan's hand in return. "I know we will, we'll never give up on them." He hadn't been able to do anything to help Samara but he knew that it would be different this time, it had to be. Antonio couldn't deny that he was disappointed that Henrik wasn't in the staff lounge but it was only the first place they had tried so he knew that he had to be patient. "I know we will," he nodded as Ethan said they would find him. Heading to the first of the classrooms, Henrik wasn't in there either and Antonio shook his head as Ethan suggested they split up to look. "No, I need you right here," Antonio assured him, leading Ethan with him as they checked a few more classrooms but to no avail. It was as they reached the end of the corridor that he spotted a familiar figure making her way towards them - it was Josie, one of Ela's best friends. As she greeted them and asked what they were doing there, Antonio felt a smile form on his face. "Hey Josie. We're looking for Henrik, can you help us?" he asked, relief flooding through him as she said she had just seen him in the library and could take them to him. "That would be great, thanks," he said sincerely, following her through the school until she pointed Henrik out to them and said she would leave them to it. "I guess this is it, are you ready?" he asked, using the question as an excuse to try and get his own nerves under control a little first. ETHAN ALVAREZ

They really would but I'm never going to regret the way our lives worked out because they brought us back together at a time when we were ready to admit what is going on between us, I like that way of thinking, Ric and Jenna really are doing something incredible here.
Ethan felt a smile touch his lips at that, his eyes shifting to settle on Toni. "If I didn't already have this ring on my finger, I'd say you're trying to woo me right now, Toni." Ethan said with a grin tugging at the edges of his lips. He definitely agreed with Toni on that bit. He'd never change the past because it allowed them to meet each other and now, they can be together without feeling ashamed or targeted by some sort of fucked up view that society seems to have on same sex relationships. "Why thank you. I can be pretty eloquent when I want to be." He found himself nodding in agreement with Toni on that bit. "They are. It's amazing."
We can't lose them, Censoring yourself so as not to offend the kids? I like it, They are pretty cool though, There are more species here than I ever knew existed.
"And we won't. I promise." Ethan promised with a soft smile resting on his lips. "We won't lose them." He repeated, sounding determined because he knew they were going to do everything in their might to make sure they stay alive. They were so young and had so much to live for, so Ethan was going to try his hardest to not have that taken away from them so soon. "What can I say? I'm a very responsible fella. Also, I'm not gonna lie, I'm doing it to train myself for when we have a baby. Can't curse in front of them now, can we? I'd never hear the end of it from the local Moms." Ethan said with a grin resting on his lips, his eyes quickly scanning the area before his eyes settled on Toni again. "Right? Same here! Apparently we have a Kitsoo... Kit-sune? It literally feels so weird to say that out loud, but also weird in a, uh, cool way." So many species and honestly?Ethan was curious about each one of them. They just sound so cool.
From what Elias told me, he thinks Henrik already knew you were his dad when he set the assignment. If he's right I won't be surprised if he knows about the girls too, I know we will, we'll never give up on them. I know we will, No, I need you right here,
"Warlocks are so cool. Holy crap." Ethan breathed out. He had a feeling that Henrik would be able to help them and even if he can't, he'd try to help them find another way. He helped Elias, so he knew that the other was a good guy and that's what good guys do, right? Ethan nodded his head at Toni's words, a smile forming on his lips. "Never." He repeated, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. "Okay. I won't go anywhere." Ethan promised with a soft smile on his lips. They checked a few more places before a familiar figure appeared within his line of vision. Josie. He knew her because of Gabriela. She was her best friend. "Hey, Josie." He greeted with a soft smile on his lips, his eyes shifting between Josie and Antonio when he took it upon himself to let Josie know that they're currently on the look out for Henrik. "Thanks." He grinned when Josie offered to take them there. Once she had led them to where Henrik was, his attention drifted to settle on his husband and honestly, with how long they had spent together, he knew that Toni's question was a way for him to calm his nerves first. It made his gaze soften. "Not yet." Ethan spoke, his voice was soft. "C'mere." He leaned closer and wrapped his arms around Toni, pulling him into a tight hug.
Ethan took a deep breath before he pulled back from the hug, giving his husband a reassuring smile. "Okay. Let's do this."

"I'll never stop trying to woo you. Got to make up for all of those lost years somehow," Antonio said, a smile touching his lips as he looked over at his husband. Even now there were still times when he couldn't believe that he was lucky enough to be able to spend the rest of his life with Ethan, he had spent so much time trying to find the one and failing and it had never occurred to him that it was because he had already found that special person. He knew that the timing wasn't right for them before but it was now and he knew that he didn't want to waste a minute of it. "I'm starting to see that," he said as he gave Ethan's hand a gentle squeeze. He was used to Ethan putting his foot in his mouth and being adorable about it in the process but lately there were times when he seemed to have a way with words and he couldn't deny that he loved seeing that side of him. "The kids seem happy here, even Elias seems to like it," he said, knowing that that was a miracle after everything that he had been through. Antonio desperately wanted to believe Ethan when he said that they wouldn't lose the girls but he couldn't deny that he was scared. The curse had plagued Samara's family for generations and they hadn't found a way to break it but he refused to lose the girls and he knew that it was the same for Ethan. He didn't want to lose them either and Antonio knew that they would figure something out together the same way they always did. "I really need that to be true," he breathed. It was so much easier when they were younger and back then it had felt like he'd had all the time in the world to find a way to break the curse but they were growing up so quickly now that it really was creeping up on him so fast and he knew that they needed to find a way to break the curse now. "That's a good point, they would never let you live it down," he teased. People around Mystic Falls liked to talk so he knew that it would be best not to test that. "I can't wait to go through that baby stage again, it will be so different this time." With the girls he'd had to raise them on his own and it had been difficult but he knew that he wouldn't have had it any other way. Ethan had missed out on that chance with Elias so Antonio knew that he wanted to make it happen for his husband if he could. "Definitely. Just when it feels like we have a handle on things, something happens to change that," he chuckled. He had learned so much from the kids already and Antonio didn't doubt that he still had so much to learn. "You're telling me," Antonio nodded. They wouldn't have known that Ethan was Elias' biological father any other way so he knew that he would never want to take that back. Henrik had already helped them once so Antonio hoped that they could do so again. "I'm going to hold you to that," he assured Ethan. Antonio trusted him completely so he knew that he would keep his word. Looking around for Henrik, Antonio tried to stay hopeful but he couldn't deny that he was relieved when Josie showed up and said she could help them. As they reached the library it suddenly felt real and he knew that his question was more to calm his own nerves than anything else but he still couldn't help it. His hands were shaking but before he knew it Ethan was pulling him in for a hug and Antonio let out a breath he hadn't known he was holding as he wrapped his arms around his husband and hugged him back. "Thank you, I needed that," he admitted, taking another breath to steady himself before turning around and taking Ethan's hand once more. "Let's do this," he breathed before stepping further into the library. "Henrik, I'm Antonio and this is my husband Ethan, we're Adelina, Gabriela and Elias' parents," he said, knowing that he couldn't just jump right into it. "Do you have time to talk?"ETHAN ALVAREZ

I'll never stop trying to woo you. Got to make up for all of those lost years somehow, I'm starting to see that, The kids seem happy here, even Elias seems to like it,
Ethan felt a soft smile touch his lips at that, his eyes relaxing on Antonio once more. "Well then, if that's the case, then please ... woo away. I love that stuff." Ethan said with a grin already tugging on his lips. He had no doubt that he'd never get tired of it, honestly. It made him feel so loved and it was a feeling he'd missed out on for so long, especially with his own parents. But now, now he felt it all the time. From Toni, Ela, Eli, and Elias. He had everything, for the first time in a long time and he was just eternally grateful that he was immortal so he could enjoy for an eternity to come. What else could he possibly ask for? He felt like he had it all in the palm of his hand. "Thank you, thank you." Ethan said with a chuckle falling from his lips, but it soon faded and his smile turned into a slightly saddened one at the mention of Elias. He knew how hard it was for Elias to enjoy something, especially with everything that had happened to him in the past, so for him to like it here was pretty much a huge sign that Ric and Jenna were doing something amazing.
I really need that to be true, That's a good point, they would never let you live it down, I can't wait to go through that baby stage again, it will be so different this time. Definitely. Just when it feels like we have a handle on things, something happens to change that,
"It will be." Ethan promised with a small smile forming on his lips. He was aware that he was making a lot of promises but he was also more than willing to work for it to make sure that every promise comes true. "Oh, absolutely not. They'll probably corner me and give me a lot of do's and don't do's. They will be brutal." Ethan wrinkled his nose at that. "Oh, we'll enjoy every last bit of it." With Elias, he couldn't enjoy the 'watching him grow' process because frankly, he had no idea that he even had a kid. With Eli and Ela, he entered their lives when they were already all grown up, so this time, it'll be so new to him and honestly, he was pretty excited for it, but first, he knew that they need to figure out the girls' curse. "Right? Life is pretty good at doing that, honestly." Ethan said with a quick nod of his head following. "Keeping you on your toes at all times."
You're telling me, I'm going to hold you to that, Thank you, I needed that, Let's do this, Henrik, I'm Antonio and this is my husband Ethan, we're Adelina, Gabriela and Elias' parents, Do you have time to talk?
"Good." Ethan said with a soft smile when Toni said he was going to hold him to that. He hugged him tightly, resting his chin on his shoulder as he closed his eyes for a moment and just allowed himself to hold Toni there until he finally pulled back. "Of course. I needed it just as much." Ethan whispered and when they held each other's hands, he was more than happy to give his hand a gentle squeeze. "Let's do this." He repeated, but mostly under his breath. He gave a quick wave to Henrik once Toni had introduced him. "Hey." He greeted with a grin forming on his lips. His attention shifted to his husband, watching him with a gentle smile on his lips. He gave his hand a gentle squeeze as a silent encouragement. "We can come back later if you're busy." Ethan added a moment later with a soft smile already tugging at his lips.

“In that case I’ll keep trying to impress you,” Antonio said, a smile forming on his face as he looked over at Ethan. It felt a little strange to be this happy but the truth was that he just couldn’t help it. He knew that he wasn’t going to stop worrying about the girls until the curse was broken and he knew that they were safe but for once things seemed to be going his family’s way and he knew that he wanted it to stay that way for as long as possible. They had all been through so much and even though it had taken Antonio a while to accept how he felt about Ethan, now he had there really wasn’t any going back and he knew that he wanted to make sure that Ethan knew just how much he was loved every single day. Seeing the way that Ethan’s smile fell when he said that even Elias seemed to like it at the school, Antonio brought his hand up and let it rest gently against Ethan’s cheek. “Don’t be sad. He’s doing well, he’s safe and he’s happy with us. That’s what matters,” he said, knowing that chances were Ethan was still worrying about what Elias had been through in the past. He knew that Ethan had felt guilty about not knowing that Elias was his for a while and he honestly hoped that those days were behind them now. Antonio knew that Ethan was saying what he was in order to reassure him and in doing so he was making a lot of promises but Antonio also knew that his husband would do everything in his power to make those things happen. Ethan had always been like that, he had always done right by those around him and Antonio knew that this wouldn’t be any different. Ethan loved the girls and he knew that he wouldn’t let anything happen to them if there was anything that either of them could do about it. “I got that the first time around with the girls, you’re going to love it,” Antonio teased. It had actually ended up being a great way of support in the end since at the time he was a single dad with two young girls and he had needed all the help that he could get but this time around he and Ethan would be able to do it together and that in itself was something to look forward to. “Definitely,” he agreed. “We’ll take lots of photos and make loads of memories. The kids are going to love it too.” The girls had welcomed Elias into the family with open arms and Antonio knew that it would be the same when they were able to add another child to the mix as well. “It really is but to be honest as long as I have you, the kids and Diego then I’m happy,” Antonio admitted. He had spent a long time on his own after the war but now he had people in his life that he loved and he knew that he wouldn’t have it any other way. He hadn’t realised just how much he had needed the hug until Ethan’s arms were around him and Antonio let himself get lost in it for a moment. “I love you,” Antonio breathed, so grateful that he had Ethan with him right now. For such a long time he had been trying to figure this out on his own and it was a relief to know that he didn’t need to do that any longer. He had Ethan now and the guy really was there with him every step of the way. He really was nervous as they made their way over to Henrik and Antonio nodded as Ethan said that they could come back later if he was busy. As Henrik assured them that he wasn’t and asked what he could do for them, Antonio let out a breath he hadn’t known he was holding. “Thank you,” he said to Henrik even as he gave Ethan’s hand a gentle squeeze in return. “You’ve already helped our family once when you gave Elias that project but we were hoping you might be able to do it again,” he began, trying to find the right words to explain what was going on. “The girls are cursed. It goes back generations on their mother’s side and whenever someone from her family reaches adulthood and finds true happiness they lose their minds and take their own lives. I’ve been trying to find a way to break the curse ever since they were born but so far nothing has worked. We’re hoping you’ll be able to find a way, will you help us?” he asked, his heart in his mouth as he waited for Henrik’s answer. ETHAN ALVAREZ

In that case I’ll keep trying to impress you, Don’t be sad. He’s doing well, he’s safe and he’s happy with us. That’s what matters, I got that the first time around with the girls, you’re going to love it, We’ll take lots of photos and make loads of memories. The kids are going to love it too.
Ethan let out a chuckle at that, his eyes relaxing on Antonio. "Oh, I'm definitely looking forward to it." Ethan still felt extremely guilty of what had happened to Elias and for all the pain he'd gone through before Ethan and Toni found him. If only he had known. If only. "I know." Ethan said with a small smile tugging at the corner of his lips. He was home now, and Ethan was going to try everything in his power to make it all up to Elias. He'd suffered enough. Ethan couldn't help but feel excited about the thought of having a baby running around --- or in that case, it would be a toddler because babies can't run but alas, he was excited nonetheless -- the thought made his lips stretch into a grin because that was literally the cutest image ever. "I have no doubt in my mind about that." Ethan said with a wide grin resting on his lips. One day. "Yes we will. We're going to enjoy every last bit of it together." He said with a hint of excitement in the sound of his voice. "I'm definitely looking forward to it. It's going to be great." He nodded his head when Toni mentioned that the kids were going to love it, too. "Yeah! It's definitely going to be an interesting experience."
It really is but to be honest as long as I have you, the kids and Diego then I’m happy, I love you,
Ethan felt a soft smile touch his lips at Toni's words before he nodded his head in agreement because he felt exactly the same way, too. "Me too." This perfect little family was all that he ever needed, honestly. He could tell just how much Toni needed a hug and when he wrapped his arms around the other, he found himself holding onto him a bit tighter because Ethan was worried, too, but he was trying his hardest not to let it show because he didn't want Toni to worry even more. He wanted to assure him as much as possible, so he kept a brave face and once the hug was over, Ethan's eyes relaxed on his husband. "I love you more." Ethan responded in a soft voice before they finally decided to head over to Henrik.
You’ve already helped our family once when you gave Elias that project but we were hoping you might be able to do it again, The girls are cursed. It goes back generations on their mother’s side and whenever someone from her family reaches adulthood and finds true happiness they lose their minds and take their own lives. I’ve been trying to find a way to break the curse ever since they were born but so far nothing has worked. We’re hoping you’ll be able to find a way, will you help us?
Ethan's eyes shifted from Toni to Henrik then back again at his husband, giving his hand a reassuring squeeze as he waited for Henrik's response to the question. God, he really hoped he'd be able to help them. He didn't realize he was holding his breath until his lungs started to burn a bit, and only then did he breathe properly again. Ethan was hopeful, but he was anxious too. He gave Toni's hand another squeeze because he knew that he must be feeling really anxious as well. It was a silent reassurance that everything is going to be okay. No matter what.

“We’ve got a lot of lost time to make up for,” Antonio said, a smile forming on his face as he looked over at Ethan. They had spent more time apart than they had done together but even when they’d thought that they were never going to see each other again after Ethan died they had never stopped loving each other. Back then neither of them had realised that that’s what it was but Antonio knew that for him at least it had still shaped the way that his life had turned out. He had gone travelling so that he would keep his word to Ethan and see the world for both of them and it was while he was doing so that he had realised that he wanted to become a firefighter. He had so much to be grateful to Ethan for and he was looking forward to being able to spend the rest of his life showing him that. The family they had built together was incredible and Antonio knew that Ethan still had regrets over what had happened with Elias but there wasn’t anything that he could have done to change the outcome. Ethan had ended things because it wouldn’t have been fair to him or May to stay together when they weren’t in love and Antonio knew that it was the right decision, he just hoped that in time Ethan would see that too. Right now he wasn’t sure that his husband did but Antonio wasn’t afraid to remind him of that when he needed to and when Ethan spoke again, Antonio gave his hand a gentle squeeze and pressed a kiss to his lips. Elias was where he belonged now and even though getting over what had happened in the past would take time they were both there for him now and Antonio knew that that would make a difference. The family had already grown so much from when it was just him and the girls and sooner or later they would add a baby to this mix as well and the truth was that Antonio couldn’t wait. “Definitely. Going through it alone was difficult, it will be so good being able to share all of that with you,” he admitted. He didn’t regret stepping up to look after the girls at all but he did wish that Samara had been able to watch them grow up too. “You got that right. Luckily for us we have three built in babysitters at home already, four if you count Diego,” he chuckled. He knew that Ela would dote on a baby and something told him that Eli and Elias would too. Their family really was perfect as far as Antonio was concerned but he still couldn’t wait to add to it. Right now they needed to focus on finally breaking the curse that had been placed on the girls through their connection to Samara, though, and Antonio couldn’t deny that he was scared. For such a long time he had been trying to deal with all of this on his own and every lead he’d found had ended up being a dead end. It was different being able to share the load with Ethan now and he took a shaky breath as Ethan’s arms wrapped around him. He knew that Ethan was worried too but he seemed to be doing his best to be strong for him and Antonio really appreciated that. As Ethan said that he loved him more, Antonio felt a smile form on his face and he shook his head. “That’s not possible,” he assured his husband, kissing his knuckles gently before they headed in Henrik’s direction. Before Antonio knew it words started spilling out of his mouth and he watched a knowing look form on Henrik’s face as he mentioned the project. “I hope it didn’t cause any trouble for your family, I overheard Elias saying he didn’t know anything about his biological family so I thought it would help all of you if you knew the truth. For what it’s worth, the family resemblance really is uncanny.” Those words were enough to surprise Antonio, Elias had said that he’d felt like Henrik had known something that he hadn’t done but he had never really thought that was possible until now and his eyes fell on Ethan for a moment to see if he’d realised the same thing before turning back to look at Henrik once more. The explanation about the girls came out so easily and Antonio waited with bated breath for what felt like a long time as Henrik processed what he had just told him, clinging to Ethan’s hand as they waited for an answer. “Of course I’ll help you,” Henrik said and the smile on that formed on his face was enough to have Antonio release the breath that he’d been holding. “Thank you,” he said, his eyes stinging with tears as his shoulders finally relaxed a little. “I’m a father myself, I know what it’s like to feel that need to protect your children. Can you tell me anymore about the curse or the girls’ mother? Was she a dragon too?” That had Antonio nodding. “I don’t know much more about the curse but yes, she was from a dragon family too. Her name was Samara Ellis and I’ve brought the letter she gave me along with a journal from one of her family members,” he said, reaching into his pocket and pulling them both out so that he could hand them over to Henrik. “Have you ever come across something like this before?” he asked. He knew that the answer wasn’t going to be a simple one but he was still hopeful that the guy would be able to help. “Not quite like this. It sounds like there are a few elements to unpick but leave it with me, I’ll find a way. I won’t let the two of you lose them.” He sounded so sure and that was enough to finally stop Antonio’s heart from hammering in his chest. “We really can’t thank you enough for this,” he said before pulling another piece of paper out of his pocket and handing it to Henrik. “We’ll let you get back to your day but our cell numbers are on there and if you need anything from us let us know,” he said, thanking Henrik once more before leading the way out of the library. It was only then that he realised that his hands were shaking and he let out a breath as he looked over at Ethan. “Did that really just happen?” he asked, hardly able to believe that after such a long time they might finally have a way to save the girls. ━ i’ll be all the poets, and every time love’s written, it will be to you. ━
We’ve got a lot of lost time to make up for,
Ethan nodded his head a few times with a soft smile forming on his lips. "That we do." They had all the time in the world now. He didn't have to worry about growing older or anything like that. He was fortunate enough to be given the chance to remain immortal like his loved ones. Not only that, but he didn't have to worry about putting them through the pain of losing them again. He'd already put Toni through that pain once. Never again. He didn't even want to think about how painful it would be to lose Toni like that, too. If only he could go back and prevent that from happening. If only.
Definitely. Going through it alone was difficult, it will be so good being able to share all of that with you, You got that right. Luckily for us we have three built in babysitters at home already, four if you count Diego, That’s not possible,
Ethan felt a soft smile touch his lips at Toni's words as he nodded his head a few times in agreement with his husband. "I really look forward to sharing all of that with you. It's going to be such a special experience. I've always wanted to experience that. You know how much I love babies." Thanks to their work, they've had to urgently deliver a couple of babies, and those calls were by far his favorite ones. Just the thought of holding such a fragile body in his hands like that. God. The thought was already making his heart speed up pleasantly. "Are we really gonna do that right now?" Ethan said with a chuckle falling from his lips. "Because I love you more and more." He teasingly said, though his eyes softened at the kiss pressed on his knuckles. So romantic, it was making his heart flutter all over again.
I hope it didn’t cause any trouble for your family, I overheard Elias saying he didn’t know anything about his biological family so I thought it would help all of you if you knew the truth. For what it’s worth, the family resemblance really is uncanny.
Ethan couldn't help the way his eyes widened at that, his eyes moving from Henrik to settle on Antonio. What? He murmured a soft 'woah' under his breath. Man, Warlocks were pretty cool, weren't they? "Oh, uh..." Ethan blinked out of his amazement. "Yeah, um. No, you didn't cause any trouble. Thank you for that. We really appreciate all your help." Ethan said with a quick smile forming on his lips because if it weren't for him, they wouldn't have figured it out.
Ethan released a soft sigh of relief when Henrik agreed to help them. Ethan was quiet as he listened to the two of them, feeling relief flood his senses. God, he felt so happy to hear that Henrik's going to be able to help them. "Thanks again, Henrik." He said as a form of goodbye for now as they got out of the library and once they were alone, his attention turned to Antonio, his reaction to everything making a grin form on his lips. "Yup. That nightmare is almost done with." Ethan assured his husband as he reached forward to leave a kiss on his lips. "Just a little more and we'll be all done." Ethan said with a soft smile forming on his lips. "The girls will be free soon from all this mess." He kissed Toni on the cheek this time as he leaned back a little to look at him better. "C'mon, let's go home."

Antonio had been on his own for such a long time that a life like this had always seemed to be so far beyond his reach. After the girls came along he’d found his purpose in life, they had become his whole world and he had known the moment he’d found them on his doorstep that he would do everything in his power to keep them safe even before he’d known they were actually his. He had spent such a long time focusing on the two of them that he hadn’t even really considered his own happiness. None of his relationships had worked out in the past but he knew now that that was because he had already found the right person and lost him and he knew that he wasn’t going to make that same mistake again. “Luckily we have an eternity together. One lifetime with you would never be enough,” Antonio admitted. The pain of losing Ethan was something that he never wanted to experience again and he knew that he never wanted to put Ethan through the pain of losing him again either. Antonio had seen how upset Ethan and the girls were when he’d finally made it home after the cave collapsed and he knew that he never wanted to put them through that again. “I know you do. You’re already an amazing father, I can’t wait to see you with a baby,” Antonio said gently. Ethan had taken to the girls straight away and it was the same with Elias. He was a natural with kids and Antonio knew that it would be just the same when they decided to expand their family even more. As Ethan spoke again, Antonio couldn’t help but laugh. “Not a chance, I love you more,” he grinned, giving Ethan’s hand a gentle squeeze. He had loved Ethan for so much longer than he had realised and the love they shared was so deep that he knew that there really wasn’t any competition even if it was fun to pretend otherwise sometimes. The conversation with Henrik went so much better than Antonio ever could have hoped for, Elias had said that he’d thought the guy had known that Ethan was his dad when he’d set the assignment but Antonio was only now starting to realise that their son was right. They would have remained in the dark about that if things hadn’t unfolded the way they had done and even though it had caused some heartache initially and it would take some time for Ethan to stop feeling guilty about something that he hadn’t had any control over he knew that they were much better off knowing the truth. Now that Henrik had agreed to help them it all felt so surreal but for the first time in a long time Antonio felt like he could breathe again without feeling that crushing weight on his chest. He knew that he couldn’t stand it if anything happened to the girls, he had spent their whole lives trying to find a way to break the curse and now he finally had someone who could help as well as Ethan to share the burden of that weight with it all felt too good to be true. “It feels like this is all a dream but if it is then I don’t want to wake up,” Antonio admitted as he kissed Ethan back. It had all been weighing down on him for such a long time that it felt strange to know that it might soon be over with. “Fingers crossed, now we just have to hope that Henrik comes through for us like he promised,” Antonio breathed. The waiting was going to be the worst part but the kiss that Ethan pressed to his cheek was enough to distract him for a moment and he felt a small smile form on his face. “Alright. We need to figure out a way to tell the girls and Elias, I don’t even know where to start with that,” Antonio admitted. Other than his family the only person he’d told about the curse before today was Ethan, telling the kids was going to be so much worse. “I just hope they don’t hate me for keeping this from them for so long,” he sighed. He wouldn’t blame them if they did, after all he had kept it from them them their whole lives but he had done it to protect them and he knew that he was never going to want to stop doing that. Luckily, we have an eternity together. One lifetime with you would never be enough, I know you do. You’re already an amazing father, I can’t wait to see you with a baby, Not a chance, I love you more,
Ethan's lips stretched into a grin as he listened to his husband. "Look at you buttering me up again. If we weren't in public, I would have thanked you for that differently, but I gotta behave." Ethan said with a chuckle falling from his eyes with a glow of mischief in his eyes as he said those words. If they weren't at school, surrounded by kids of different ages, he definitely would have done something to thank Toni for saying that. "But... One lifetime with you would never be enough, either. I'm thinking a hundred? A thousand? A million?" Ethan debated with a hum falling from his lips as if a million lifetime was something that could be counted on his fingers. "Thanks, babe." Ethan really meant that. He was undoubtedly trying his hardest with the girls and Elias, so to hear that he was doing good from Toni certainly assured him. "I'm definitely looking forward to it, too." He added a moment later, unable to hide his excitement as he looked over at Toni with a grin locked on his lips. "Oh, we're doing this now, huh?" Ethan challenged with a quirked brow, his narrowed but mischievous eyes settling on Toni. "I love you to the moon and back."
It feels like this is all a dream but if it is then I don’t want to wake up, Fingers crossed, now we just have to hope that Henrik comes through for us like he promised, Alright. We need to figure out a way to tell the girls and Elias, I don’t even know where to start with that, “I just hope they don’t hate me for keeping this from them for so long,
"It's not, Toni. It's real. We're getting closer to lifting the curse off the girls." Ethan assured in a soft voice, his hand giving Toni's hand a gentle squeeze. "I definitely have a feeling that he will." He didn't look like the type of person to break a promise and even if he can't do it, he looked like he was the type to find another alternative for them. "Oh..." Ethan scratched at his jaw before he released a small hum.
"Hate you?" Ethan frowned at that, his eyes settling on his husband again. "Baby, I don't think they'll hate you. Ever. You didn't hide this from them because of some malicious reason, you hid it to protect them. You burdened yourself with this for so long so they wouldn't have to. Not only that, but you gave them the chance to grow up worry-free, while you worried every day about the curse. It's literally the most selfless thing I've ever seen, so I don't think they'll hate you." Ethan assured his husband in a calm voice, his eyes still focused solely on him. "And as for how to tell them, we can all sit together, and you can tell them about it. It'd be the best way to do this, no? Don't worry, I'll be right there with you and if you want me to tell them instead, I can do it, okay? It'll pass, trust me."

“You have to behave right now, you can always thank me when we get home,” Antonio suggested, a playful smile working its way across his face as he looked over at his husband. He knew what it was like to live without Ethan, they had only spent a short time together during the war compared to the time they had spent apart after it and nothing had happened between the two of them before Ethan had died but now it was a completely different story. Now they were free to be together without having to worry about what anyone else might think and Antonio knew that no amount of time with his husband would ever be enough. “Not even that would be enough,” he teased, drawing Ethan to him and stealing a kiss. Thankfully not only were they immortal but the kids were too so Antonio couldn’t deny that he was looking forward to seeing what the future was going to hold for all of them. He knew that his parents had struggled and that they had lost a lot of children because they were reckless before he was born but the girls and Elias weren’t like that so he knew that their story was going to be a very different one. “It’s true. I’ve seen the way they all look up to you, they love you,” Antonio assured him. The kids all knew that they could go to either of them when they needed help and he was glad that they had that bond. “You became a dad to the girls before we even got together, I saw it the day I made it home after the cave collapsed.” Ethan could have easily abandoned them but he hadn’t, he had been there for them just like he had done for Ela the day he found her after she was attacked. Ethan might not see how incredible he was but Antonio definitely did and he wasn’t afraid to remind him of that. “Yeah, we are,” he laughed, unable to deny that he liked the idea of sparking a little competition as a distraction. “I love you to the ends of the galaxy.”It seemed to surreal that they were one step closer to finding a way to break the curse. Had it not been for the way Henrik had helped Elias then Antonio knew that he probably never would have thought to ask anyone at the school for help. He had tried asking so many different people in the past and each time nothing had come of it so he had all but given up hope of finding someone to help. Ethan had stepped up and been right there with him from the moment he’d told him about the curse but when it came to asking for help outside of the family that wasn’t as easy. He’d tried a few people his parents and Diego had suggested because they trusted them and even some old friends that Evangeline had mentioned but to no avail so he hoped that this time would be different. “I can’t wait for that day to come. I’ll finally be able to breathe again,” he admitted, giving Ethan’s hand a squeeze in return. The truth about the curse had been weighing down on him for such a long time and he knew that it would be a relief to finally be free of worrying about it. “I think you’re right. He seems like the kind of guy who will do anything to protect his kids and I think it’s the same for the kids who go here,” he nodded. He had already helped Elias after all so Antonio really hoped that he would be able to do so again. How they were going to tell the kids about it, though, he really wasn’t sure but it was a relief to know that he wouldn’t have to face it alone. Antonio’s gaze rested on his husband as Ethan spoke and he felt his heart skip a beat at his words. “I hope you’re right,” he said gently. “You’ve been carrying this around with you too, I bet you’ll be glad when it’s all over.” Ethan had been such a huge support to him ever since he’d told him about the curse and Antonio knew that he wouldn’t want to face this without him now that the end was finally in sight. Having someone to confide in had changed everything. As Ethan spoke again, Antonio’s expression softened. “I love you for offering to tell them but I think it had better come from me,” he admitted. “I definitely want you there with me though, they’re going to need both of us.”ETHAN ALVAREZ

━ i’ll be all the poets, and every time love’s written, it will be to you. ━
You have to behave right now, you can always thank me when we get home, Not even that would be enough, It’s true. I’ve seen the way they all look up to you, they love you, You became a dad to the girls before we even got together, I saw it the day I made it home after the cave collapsed. Yeah, we are, I love you to the ends of the galaxy.
Ethan's eyes gleamed with a mischievous glow when Toni told him that he has to behave right now, but he can always thank him later when they're home. "Now that's the most tempting thing I've ever heard you say all day. Guess I will do that, then." Ethan said with a grin tugging on his lips already, his eyes focused solely on his husband as his eyes momentarily moved down to his lips, subconsciously licking his own. God, the urge to kiss him was strong, but he wasn't sure if he'd be able to stop if he kissed him right now. It was Toni's fault for buttering him up like that, knowing that Ethan loved that sort of thing. It was just beyond romantic and Ethan was a goner for romance, and that was top tier romance, honestly. "Exactly my thought." He said as he pointed his index finger at Toni with a nod, following when Toni said that not even a million lifetime with him would be enough. "Man, we're so corny." Ethan said a moment later with a laugh falling from his lips, his eyes crinkling at the edges.
"I love them too, honestly. They're so amazing. It makes me feel lucky every single day to be a part of this family." Ethan's words were sincere as he spoke. He meant every word of it because his family really did mean the whole world to him. God, he didn't even want to imagine what would have happened if he hadn't found Antonio that day. "God... Don't remind me." Ethan breathed out with a shake of his head following. "It was so tough back then. Not knowing whether you were going to come home or not." Ethan released a soft sigh, his eyes moving to settle on Toni again. "Never do that to me again, you hear me?" He pointed his finger at Toni before dropping his hand.
"But, I get what you mean. Our relationship definitely changed that day and if I'm being completely honest, I was so lost. I kept thinking 'what would Toni do?' and that's the thing that kind of kept me going. The only thing that made me think rationally, too." Because if you know Ethan, then you know that most of his decisions are made from his heart and not from his mind. "Oh, woooow. That's a low blow. How am I supposed to top that?" Ethan scratched at his jaw where his stubble was slowly coming in. "Uhhhh... I love you... infinite." An even lower blow. Nice. Ethan looked incredibly smug about his response as he shrugged his shoulders as if to silently say 'beat that.'
I can’t wait for that day to come. I’ll finally be able to breathe again, I think you’re right. He seems like the kind of guy who will do anything to protect his kids and I think it’s the same for the kids who go here, I hope you’re right, You’ve been carrying this around with you too, I bet you’ll be glad when it’s all over. I love you for offering to tell them but I think it had better come from me, I definitely want you there with me though, they’re going to need both of us.
"It will, trust me. It might seem far away right now, but if you blink a couple of times, it'll arrive. That's how crazy and fast time is." Ethan assured him with a soft smile remaining on his lips. "Oh, absolutely. Everyone here seems determined to do right by the kids here, and they seem to have a good sense of responsibility. It's amazing, honestly." Ethan nodded his head in agreement with Toni's words about Henrik. He couldn't help but notice how dedicated the staff team were. So perfectly picked. "I'm more than happy to carry some weight off you." Ethan said with a soft smile resting on his lips. "But you're completely right. I'll be so happy for the nightmare to be over." Ethan said, with a small sigh of relief following. "Of course. We're in this together, remember?" Ethan gave his hand Toni's hand a gentle squeeze. "Don't worry. I'll be there. There's nowhere else I'd rather be." Ethan added a moment later because that's the truth. There's no other place he'd rather be.
Ethan looked around him for a moment before his eyes moved to settle on his husband once more with a thoughtful expression on his face. "Wanna get out of here?"
