There was a laugh suppressed deep down. A cold, harsh, bitter laugh as Klaus snapped at her calling her a liar. The same snap she had moments ago when he spoke ill of her brother. She knew his rage had no bounds, made clear from the story he shared with her concerning his mother. Even that didn’t deter her from falling in love with him. He had his reasons, ones which she didn’t fully understand but it didn’t matter. At that time, nothing would change the way she felt about Klaus. If anything, it only made their love grow stronger with common ground. Both of them were responsible for the death of their mother. She was so infatuated with him that she was prepared to give up her human life to spend the rest of her days with him. When the compulsion broke she was appalled at Elijah’s actions, believing he would never do such a thing to hurt his own brother. A person he claimed to love. The desire to mock the hybrid faded immediately as she realised how hurt he was. She truly believed Elijah would have spilled the truth to Klaus by now with his ability to dress his behaviour up as though he was doing it to protect their family. Elijah told her Tristan would have probably have done the same thing to her, causing her to snap even further. She wasn’t there to talk about her family, she was there to confront Elijah for what he did. That conversation didn’t go to plan either. “I am sorry” Although she had nothing to be sorry about. She was following orders, “The night your family was leaving I asked Elijah if I could accompany you. He declined” There was no room for a person who wasn’t a true Mikaelson, even where love was involved. NIKLAUS MIKAELSON - wrap up with yours?

old flames (with Aurora de Martel) They had hurt one another, he and Elijah. Over the centuries they had built up a list of crimes that would have broken most families but not their --- because they were built differently. They were meant to survive such things and be stronger because of it. But this, this felt strange to him. Something in him had been hollowed out when Aurora had spoken those words.
And now he knew they had come from Elijah's mouth instead.
He was angry. He could lash out at her but where would that get him. If he thought about it (deep down in a place he would rather avoid) he owed Aurora an apology for all the wrongs that his family had levied on hers. He doubted that he could ever find himself actually saying the words. He had always preferred to hold tight to his warped views of any given situation. Besides, it was not like she would forgive him anyway. Or so he told himself to avoid begging for forgiveness in the first place.
Klaus pressed his lips together trying to maintain his composure. She had asked to come with him. He wondered what that would have been like. He could trace the different routes it could have taken all he wanted but in the end, he was left with what reality had given him instead.
"Make no mistake, I will be speaking to Elijah about this." That was all he needed to say to get his point across. The kind of talk he envisioned involved destroying a great deal of the town so she would known when and where the conversation had taken place. But it was happening. "Until next time..." Because could he really stay away? He was unsure of that, especially since their entire history had just been rewritten.
