Just LIke old times
(with Rebekah Mikaelson)
(with Rebekah Mikaelson)
Like him, his sister was both predictable and unpredictable, depending on the situation and her current mood. Although she might not like the comparison, Klaus believed it was an apt one. Therefore he had no idea what he was getting into when he spotted her familiar blonde head from a distance. There was a part of him that wished he had enough presence of mind to plan some elaborate reunion but then realized that no matter what he did, her reaction to his return was entirely up to her.
(not entirely true, given his many crimes against her but Klaus refused to dwell on that)
He walked for a time, tracking her progress through the streets of Mystic Falls. He had some idea of what she had been up to in his time away from the town but he realized he should have kept better track. He should have been able to predict just what mood she would be in when approached her. Klaus had trouble thinking of her living her own life beyond the one he had firmly ensconced himself in. When it came to his favorite sister, he often could only see the (rocky) relationship they had built for centuries. The idea that she could have a life beyond him was a lesson he had only just begun learning and he was unsure if it would be one that actually stuck in the end.
Deciding that it had been too long and he could no longer silently watch, Klaus ceased trailing her and instead moved quickly (but not as quickly as he could as to not frighten any innocent mind nearby) to fall in step with Rebekah. He glanced in her direction, a smile automatically spreading across his face. "Hello, sister, did you miss me?"
