━ i don't know where i'm going, but i sure know where i've been ━
Roxxi considered that the Blacklight Party might’ve been too public (who knew who she’d run into there) but it wasn’t any more open than Kitschy Kitschy Coo or the bar, the latter being where she spent most of her free time. Even if she hadn’t gone, she met Mikey again in the woods, so nowhere in Mystic Falls was safe, apparently. Maybe she had to move.
But where would she go? Back to New Orleans and her uncle? No fucking way. Roxxi liked her life in Mystic Falls, Buckley’s be damned. They wouldn’t drive her out. She’d just start avoiding Chase. She’d gone this long without ever seeing him before, she could do it again.
Except now he knew where she worked, and Roxxi couldn’t bring herself to reject him no matter how hard she tried. She started to follow him around on his shifts, in another form, of course━the weird-ass changes she’d gone through came in handy for once. As a dog, she traipsed around town after him, trying to ensure he didn’t run into anybody she knew━that her cousins weren’t coming after him. So far, so good. The only issue was growing more attached.
Slipping into the Mystic Grill, Roxxi made sure to wear something sleeveless in order to paint on herself━or, rather, get somebody at the booth to do it for her. They’d probably have a better chance of making it look nice. Her dress had pops of colour, lit up under the blacklights, only complimenting the yellow designs that streaked down her arms. She thought it was funny━the whole electricity thing, whatever it was and wherever it came from, it’d ruined a lot of shit, but at least now she could make something nice out of it. Not like anybody else here would get it━not unless she ran into that dude with the stupid name again. Mal. He’d understand.
A few blue streaks went from her chest and up her neck, stopping short at her jawline. One eye painted with a blue, solid circle, like a spotted dog with one white eye. She slipped on a green wristband, collected a beer and moved into the crowd, draining about half of it before she started dancing, hips moving languidly to the beat. She must’ve grabbed onto three different guy’s arms in the span of time between beginning to dance and then, never keeping a partner for long. The next had dark hair, even still with her enhanced vision, and a smell that reminded her of that day in the woods with Mikey. A fox. Was this guy like her? Could he shapeshift into any animal he wanted, too?
Roxxi slipped her arms around his shoulders, pressing in close, lips brushing up the side of his jaw until she could speak in his ear, “Hey,” She hummed, doing all she could to not scream in his ear. If he was like her, then he probably didn’t need it, right? All they had to do was focus on each other’s voices instead of the booming music around them. “You’re not gay, right?” Roxxi asked, jerking her head back to furrow her brow at him. “Not that it matters to me if you are; I just spent most of my night last week embarrassing myself in front of my colleague who’s apparently gay.” She snorted, rolling her eyes at the memory before finding his gaze again. “Just wanna know if you’re cool with this,” Roxxi danced a little closer, brushing up against him as she moved, smirking up at the stranger.
