Kol ha salways been a force to be reckoned with and that hasn't changed. His history is as it was in the show and further history can be found in EVANGELINE SALVADOR's application as she is the first vampire that he sired.
For years he was kept daggered in a coffin by Klaus before he was eventually freed by his younger brother Henrik. What Kol has been up to since then is completely open other than he has reconnected with Henrik, Elijah, Rebekah and Evangeline and Henrik and he has been helping try to protect his nieces and nephew. Previously Kol was a teacher at the Salvatore School but whether or not this continues is completely open. He is very protective of his family and so far none of them have done anything to betray him like the did in the show so he hasn't had any reason to turn on them.
