Davina grew up in New Orleans and is the daughter of a controlling mother and a father who abandoned her. Her history starts out just like it did in the show with Davina being chosen to be a part of the Harvest Ritual only to end up being saved by Marcel and locked away under the guise that it was for her own safety. The ritual took place in April 2018 and Marcel decided to use Davina's enhanced power to keep the other witches and warlocks of New Orleans in check and through her he could find out when others were using magic around the city.
Ever since the ritual failed, Davina was left with the three other witches who were sacrificed living in her head desperate to be free once more. In November 2018 she was rescued by Klaus and brought to Mystic Falls as he'd heard that she was a powerful witch and he wanted to use her to find a way to successfully create more hybrids. He had a witch cast a barrier spell around Mystic Falls which was designed to stop Davina from leaving the town although she was allowed to enroll in school and do other things that a teenager should to an extent.
In March 2019 Davina figured out that doppelganger blood was the key to creating hybrids and in January 2020 Davina contacted Henrik Mikaelson after the two of them met the year before and she asked him to complete the ritual so that she would be free from the other Harvest witches once and for all. Before that Henrik had tried to find another way to free them but nothing had worked. She brought Isaac Lahey along with her and when Henrik completed the ritual not only were the other three girls freed but Isaac's magic was also awoken.
Henrik removed the barrier spell from Mystic Falls but Davina still chose to stay and continue living her life away from the clutches of the coven that had tried to kill her. Everything else for her including what she is up to now is completely open.
