The Salvatore School had students from all around the world so there were always going to those that Josie wasn’t able to see until school picked back up again at the start of September but all of her closest friends lived in Mystic Falls just like she did and for that she was grateful. She didn’t have to worry about boarding at the school like some of the students did, she got to sleep in her own bed every night and she was pretty sure that all of the kids who were able to say the same were just as glad about that as she was. She couldn’t even begin to imagine being away from her family for so long, they had always been close and she knew that she never wanted that to change. She didn’t tend to see Elena, Jeremy, Kyle or Abby quite as much since they were all at college now but they still spent time together when they could and she knew that she wouldn’t have it any other way. Growing up in Mystic Falls had been fun for the most part even if the memories she had weren’t exactly real, she’d faced a few challenges along the way and she’d ended up being picked on a few times but now she was surrounded by others like her on a daily basis during term time it was so much better. Josie had known about the supernatural world for a long time but to this day it still amazed her just how many different species there were at the school. There were some who liked to stick to being surrounded by a group of people who were exactly like them and there were others who looked down on some people for what they were but that wasn’t Josie at all, she loved the fact that everyone was different and she liked to think that the friends she had built over the last year and a half since the school had opened was proof of that. It didn’t matter to her what a person was, all that mattered was who they were and she knew that she would stand up for any of them if someone tried to say otherwise. One person she had grown incredibly close to was Gabi. The girl was a dragon and at the moment there were only two of them at the school so she knew that a couple of the students had been a little worried about that but Josie couldn’t care less. She had taken an instant liking to the girl and she knew that they were similar in a lot of ways and Gabi had become one of her best friends. They talked a lot and that day they had ended up deciding to hang out so Josie found herself making her way towards her friend’s house the way she had so many times before with a bag in hand containing a few movies, some popcorn and ice cream in case they wanted it. Soon enough she was making her way up the steps to the front door and she knocked on the door before waiting for it to be answered either by Gabi or one of her family. GABRIELA ALVAREZ
