People were so impatient. It was only 40 minutes since she got a notification from the '911 soul needs your help' hotline, but she was busy washing her hair at the moment. Leah wasn't about to go running off into the woods with soaking wet hair that was still lathered in shampoo. Admittedly, she could have got there sooner. She didn't need to then dry her hair, do her makeup and choose an outfit before going out to meet the soul, but it could have been a cutie out there waiting for her. She wanted to turn up looking her best, as always, plus she was planning to head straight to Emerald City after playing reaper. But when she got there, all she found was a chewed-up corpse and no soul in sight. Leah kneeled down next to the body, hovering her bare knees over the leaves as she leaned in closer to take a look at the body. It was clearly a werewolf attack. The thick claw marks across the corpse and deep bite mark all over. Not the most ideal way to depart this world. She pushed herself up off the floor, her eyes scanning the dark woodland area. The reaper toyed with the idea of just heading back home but decided it was best to try and look for the lost spirit. After all, Death would be pretty pissed at her for turning up 45 minutes later. Leah trawled through the woods for a few minutes in her red party dress, using the flashlight on her phone for guidance. Thankfully she opted for trainers before leaving, not wanting to mess up her favourite heels. The ground started to becoming softer, causing the mud to stick to her trainers "Fuck sake" She muttered, trying to scrape it off on a tree nearby. "If you don't come out in the next two seconds, I'm going to the bar, and you can find your own way to heaven or hell" She called out into the darkness. The blonde wasn't in the mood to drag her ass through the woods. She needed a drink. "Fuck this" She muttered again to herself as she turned back, ready to teleport out of the woods and back home to change her shoes, but she heard a rustling from nearby. Someone was walking on leaves in the distance, causing the reaper to spin back around with her flashlight still shining. She could just about make out someone ahead walking towards her, so she took a step towards the stranger, shining the light directly on their face. But that was no lost soul looking for their way home. It was Remzi. Her vampire playmate from LA. Leah lowered the flashlight slightly, "Remzi? What the hell are you doing here?" She demanded, but there a hint of concern laced in there somewhere. Tonight was a full moon, meaning werewolves were prowling the area, looking for vampires to chew on. He was the prey they were sniffing out. REMZI DURMAZ

━ like sisyphus pushing that rock uphill, or echo falling for a daffodil ━ Control was coming slowly.
It was hard to control himself around really tempting shit like open wounds, but otherwise, he hadn’t torn into Raik or anybody of importance, so it was all good so far. Besides getting locked up for a bit and needing Raik to vouch for him. Thank fuck the detective understood Remzi’s predicament and was less of an asshole about it. He was still wondering why the hell he couldn’t compel him, though.
Maybe because of what he was? Or was Remzi just getting weaker? It probably wasn’t the latter, but he was draining some poor chick in the woods anyway. Y’know, just in case.
And it was one of those open wound moments that he couldn’t keep himself away from. In Remzi’s defence (if Raik grilled him later about the blood), this chick was already half dead anyway. Deep claw marks and a big bite that couldn’t have come from a vampire. She was still standing, begging Remzi for help, but still. Half dead.
He wrapped her up in his arms, pressed her tiny frame to his own, face buried in his chest to muffle her screams. Remzi sunk his teeth into her neck and sopped up whatever was left of her until she went limp in his arms and the blood stopped flowing. Once she was gone, he didn’t bother being gentle, letting the corpse drop heavily to the ground. His dark eyes ticked up from the body and around before he moved towards the darkness, licking any residue from his lips━though Remzi was sure there was enough on his shirt and the side of his face that couldn’t be cleaned so easily.
He wasn’t sure how long he’d been wandering before he picked up on her voice━Leah. It was Leah, wasn’t it? How could he forget her voice, though, when it’d always been in his ear, telling him anything from commands on who to kill to absolute filth. The thought alone sent a shiver up his spine, and he was moving towards her slower than he could’ve, trying to track where exactly the sound was coming from.
Finally, Remzi found her right when she’d seemingly found him, too━with that bright fucking light in his eyes. “Siktir,” He hissed, raising a hand to cover his eyes.
‘Remzi? What the hell are you doing here?’
“Sounds like you missed me a lot, huh?” He smirked, stepping towards Leah once she lowered her phone. He didn’t bother to ask why she was here, figuring that he was the one in the actual predicament, what with blood all over him. The hand that’d covered his eyes dropped and swung around her, his palm smacking down on one cheek, using his hold to pull her into him tightly. “I like your dress.” Remzi mused, chin pressed to his chest to look down at Leah. “You going somewhere special?” With someone special, he wanted to assume, that little fire of jealousy burning deep in the pit of his stomach. He’d change her mind, though━Remzi knew that for sure, if nothing else.

Remzi Durmaz. Her own personal Edward Cullen, but hotter and less sparkly. Her vampire plaything. It hadn’t crossed her mind that she was the one who told him about Mystic Falls. Told him it was the place where all things go bump in the night, also there was a slim chance he could find a kind witch or warlock to make him a daylight ring so he wasn’t tethered to the night like some owl. She didn’t particularly care about what he was doing there, rather why was he in the woods on a full moon? When the pair Leah gave him a brief overview on what it meant to be a vampire. The standard you can’t walk in the sun, you need blood to survive and he can compel people to do whatever he wanted. As she explained the last part she saw a glimmer in his eyes that indicated like that part. Telling people what to do. Controlling people. It was in that moment the reaper decided she wanted Remzi to be hers. It was easy to manipulate a baby vampire too. A whiff of fresh blood had them weak in the knees and Leah loved it. Shame his brother was always poking his nose where it wasn’t wanted though. Determined to keep the pair apart, saying Leah wasn’t good enough for him but she knew she was exactly what Remzi wanted. Someone just as destructive as him. Someone to tell him it’s okay to drain humans. Leah was there to help justify his behaviour. Watching him lose control was something that made her weak in the knees. Perhaps she had missed Remzi in a way. He was fun, to say the least, and their sex was exciting, a mixture between passion and hate “I see you have been snacking on the corpse back there” Her eyes drifted to the red liquid that tarnished his body. Remzi pulled her in close to him, though she was careful to keep space between the pair. The blonde didn’t want the blood to ruin her pretty dress, though it would be entertaining turning up to the Emerald City covered in fresh blood. Something to make the vampires stir. “Maybe” She paused, resting her hand on his shoulder, “Maybe I’m going on a date with a tall dark handsome vampire. One who is capable of catching his own dinner instead of feasting on half-dead humans” A smirk tugged at the corner of her lips, looking to push Remzi’s buttons. She enjoyed winding him like a toy and watching him go. It was hot. There was a low howl in the distance, “We need to get the fuck out of here anyway. I forgot to mention to you wolves can kill you” She technically hadn’t forgotten just didn’t think it was relevant back in LA. They were in a city so the chance of seeing a werewolf was low, but Mystic Falls was different. The woods were littered with wolves on the full moon. Each of them looking to take a chunk out of any vampire they could find. Leah drew her free hand up and placed it on Remzi’s other shoulder. In less than a second, the pair were back in Mystic Falls, in an alleyway close to the Emerald City, one where she had visited frequently to pick up souls. REMZI DURMAZ

━ like sisyphus pushing that rock uphill, or echo falling for a daffodil ━ Remzi wanted to feel her heat on him, bodies pressed together, not a millimetre between them. She was keeping her distance, though, forcing them apart━he assumed she didn’t want blood all over that sexy dress, and while he wasn’t usually the type to give a shit about stains and women’s clothing and all that shit, he wanted to make sure he was gonna walk around with the hottest piece in town. Wherever she was going, Remzi would make sure she showed up feeling confident at his side━as if she ever lacked such a thing. Still, if Leah felt good, then she’d make him feel good, and that was the only end goal in his mind, really.
“Needed a quick pick-me-up.” Remzi responded carelessly and with a shrug, still keeping his arm around her, fingertips digging into her skin through that dress.
That jealousy, at first only a tiny flame, like one that came from a candlewick, suddenly surged violently at Leah’s words. Remzi sucked in a breath and held it in his chest, letting it puff subtly, his fingers flexing. They dug in a little harder into the meat of her backside, claiming her with bruises he hoped would show up later on━ones she could look at in the mirror, admire with the others and think of him and only him. The worst part was he knew what she was doing, and he was feeding into it anyway. Remzi just couldn’t help himself━Leah was a fuck ton of fun, his kind of fun, and the crazy just added a little extra spice.
Though he’d already outwardly shown a slight reaction, Remzi was smirking nonetheless, tipping his chin up a few inches proudly. “Sounds boring. It’s good for you, though, because you’re gonna cancel and have more fun with me instead.” There was a husky sound low in his throat as he dipped in, lips finding her neck and that hot, sweet skin. He breathed her in while his blunt, human teeth captured a tiny patch, rolling it between them. Her blood was pumping right beneath them, so loud and fucking intoxicating it had Remzi rolling out a quiet sigh. He’d always been more interested in having Leah tell him who to bite instead of snacking on her himself, but God was it ever tempting.
Encapsulated by her, he completely ignored the distant howl, one of many he’d heard that night and paid little mind to. Remzi figured he could take on a wolf with no problems━apparently, though, he was wrong.
“Huh?” Remzi tore his head away to straighten up again, furrowing dark brows at her. A moment later, though, they were… moving. It was like the fastest, worst rollercoaster he’d ever been on━made you sick without the thrill of it. They were one place and then suddenly in another, and his head was spinning. The big brute of a man leaned into Leah for a moment before stepping back, finally breaking their contact once he’d remembered to not stain her dress. He grumbled, lifting a hand to his head and pressing the heel against his temple. Blue eyes danced up and around, checking their surroundings quickly.
They were in town now, definitely not in the woods, and Remzi peered down at his soaked shirt with a heavy frown. “Can’t be in town looking like this.” He puffed━he’d already gotten in enough shit at the start of his time in Mystic Falls, and Raik would probably fucking kill him if he had to pick Remzi up from the station again. “How the hell do you do that all the time? I feel like shit.” It’d been disorientating, but that handy vampire healing was working fast, and Remzi was returning to his regular self in no time.
Slowly, he pulled his shirt over his head, quickly switching his focus on what was at hand. Revealing his broad, muscular chest━one he was quite proud to show off━Remzi smirked at Leah, letting the fabric hang from one hand loosely. “You think they’ll let me in like this? Better than walking in covered in blood, yeah?” He chuckled, “Who am I kidding, who wouldn’t let me in lookin’ like this.” Remzi leaned to one side, raising his brows at Leah.
“So… what was that about getting killed by werewolves? Would’ve been helpful to know.” He puffed. “Oh, and so would have the whole thing about not being able to compel everyone?” Remzi narrowed his eyes, wondering what else she’d left out. He’d placed a lot of trust in Leah to guide him through this shit, and apparently she was pretty fucking shitty at it.

A smirk formed on Leah’s lips as she felt Remzi squeeze her that little bit harder when she mentioned a date. Hinting she was meeting up with another vampire. One who was more of a vampire than he was. As usual, her words held no truth, she was just looking to get a rise out of Remzi, as she had done countless nights back in LA. Purposely luring in men to dance with her, hoping to grab the attention of Remzi, then when she did she pulled the men in closer allowing their hands to explore her body. They never stood a chance though, it was always Remzi’s bed she would end up in. She had zero plans that evening, but now Remzi was in town perhaps that was subject to change, depending on how he played his cards. She was growing tired of some of the vampires in Emerald City of late. They were all so well behaved. She wanted chaos and recklessness. She wanted someone like Remzi. “Depends on how thick his wallet is” Letting out a quiet exhale as his lips met her neck. It excited her even more knowing that all he wanted to do was to sink his teeth into her. As much as she wanted to stick around and play with Remzi the pair needed to get out there. She was disappointed when he ripped his lips away from her skin as she announced their departure, swapping the woodland area for an alleyway in Mystic Falls. The silence was replaced with chit-chat from the streets of the town nearby. Remzi went to lean into Leah, possibly to get his bearings after teleporting him across town, but the blonde stuck her hands out to prevent him from leaning on her, “Dress!” She exclaimed, as the vampire stepped back. The sickening feeling he was experiencing was something the reaper had become accustomed to by now. At first, teleporting would throw her off balance, but now it was second nature to her. It was amusing to watch Remzi struggle to adjust to his new surroundings. Leah’s eyes drifted down at his blood-stained top, “Sounds like a you problem” She retorted with a shrug, dismissing his questions about how she did that all the time, but her interest was peaked again as Remzi pulled his top over his head. The blonde grinned, taking the top from his hands and throwing it on the floor. She stepped forward, pushing Remzi into the cold brick wall behind him, pressing her body against his, “I’d let you in anywhere looking like that” She draped her arms around his neck, easing into him. There was no blood keeping them apart and Leah wanted to feel Remzis body on hers, just how she did in LA. She rolled her eyes as she sighed at Remzi’s questions, “A werewolf bite can kill you on a full moon. It’s not a quick death either, pretty slow and painful. So avoid the woods when they’re out and about” She frowned a little at his further question, “Oh…” She began, removing one hand from his neck and drawing it up, running her thumb over his bottom lip as she smirked, “Yeah you can’t compel other supernaturals” Leah explained removing her thumb from his lips. She leaned forward slightly, taking Remzi’s bottom lip between her teeth, nibbling on it gently before letting go, “Why who’ve you tried to compel?” Tickled by the idea of Remzi trying to compel a supernatural and failing tragically. She hadn't exactly told him everything about being a vampire. He was a big boy and he could figure it out on his own, also she didn't exactly know everything. Just pieces of information had been picked up over the years. The standard stuff like don’t go in the sun, and a piece of wood can kill them. REMZI DURMAZ

━ like sisyphus pushing that rock uphill, or echo falling for a daffodil ━ As always, they didn’t dwell on the serious shit. Nothing real, and that’s what Remzi liked most about Leah. Life felt like a game, like their oyster, and they could have endless amounts of fun. They weren’t good on their own━she got torn up by her brother and Remzi ended up in police stations drenched in the blood of his victims. But together? Fuck, it felt like they could do anything. Remzi was sure being a vampire meant he was pretty invincible already, but he really felt it when he was at Leah’s side.
It was the rush Raik didn’t conform to, a slice of life left for the younger Durmaz to greedily gobble until he was full━and he hadn’t gotten there yet. Maybe he never would. It wasn’t fun to be satisfied; it meant you could never go hunting for more.
So, when she guided his bare back against the wall, shoulderblades scraping against the brick, Remzi didn’t fight it. He would’ve been stupid to stop this as it escalated, and while he was an idiot about most things, women weren’t one of them.
Shirt now discarded and forgotten, Remzi’s now-empty hands were free to press to Leah’s thighs, feeling the heat of her skin under his fingertips. Touching her felt like a warm bath to soothe his aching muscles at the end of the day or, more likely now━in this life━a completely drained human to replenish his strength. Either way, Leah gave him something, though he couldn’t quite put his finger on it━he just enjoyed it.
He traced his fingertips up, catching the fabric on the backs of his digits and raising it as he went, hands coming to rest on her hips. He dug them in again, pulling her closer, desperate to soak up all that warmth. “Yeah you would,” Remzi mused smoothly, like a deep rumble in his chest, a small smirk playing at his lips’ edges. Cocky, most definitely━but not untrue whatsoever. He was the sexiest man she’d ever laid eyes on; there was no doubt about it. He was probably that for most women, if Remzi was honest with himself.
‘A werewolf bite can kill you on a full moon. It’s not a quick death either, pretty slow and painful…’
Remzi, with his chin dipped to meet her eyes, tensed and frowned. God, what happened to being immortal? He supposed everything had to have an end, a way to be killed, but this really put a damper on the whole ‘vampire’ thing. For a short time, anyway━Remzi didn’t let anything ruin his party for very long, not even getting turned into one of these things.
And again, Leah let out another piece of information that would’ve been nice to know before. He was distracted by her thumb on his lip, though, that touch always capturing his mind and bringing it elsewhere. He sighed at her words, but before it could pull him out of this, Leah’s teeth were around his lips, igniting a fire only she could produce in him now. There were no bitches crazy enough to bring that sort of reaction out of him, just the regular ones that tried a little too hard. Leah, though? Fuck, he thought, nerves tingling where she was at his mouth, and down his body in all the spots they connected. The muscles pressed tight against her body shifted, biceps tensing as he pulled her impossibly closer━as if he could close that now-nonexistent gap between them.
‘Why, who’ve you tried to compel?’
And of course, just as she was the only one to give it, she could take it away just as fast. Remzi grumbled and rolled his eyes. He could feel this coming the moment it happened, with those iron shackles around his wrists and the confusion of a failed attempt at compulsion. It’d never not worked before, but thankfully it gave Remzi a clue that this guy would possibly be empathetic to his cause. “I was brought in for questioning; they found me on the street with blood all over me.” He puffed, raising his eyes away from Leah and to the brick wall across from them, then towards the entrance to the alley and the nightlife of Mystic Falls. He’d lied to Raik about it, and to the cop, and still only barely got away. It was a close fucking call, and Leah could’ve stopped it━or at least have done something to prevent it so Remzi wasn’t left scrambling.
Truthfully, Leah couldn’t have helped much at all, but, as always, Remzi needed somebody to blame other than himself. “The cop just stared blankly at me when I tried to compel my way out of there. Didn’t win me any points.” His jaw tightened with irritation, gaze flicking back down to Leah’s. “I had to tell him I needed a daylight ring to get out of there. Lied and said there was another vampire.” He smirked at it finally, the idea that he’d gotten away with his killing spree so easily━despite it getting brought on by Leah herself.
With vampire speed, one of the apparently very few things she’d told him about, Remzi flipped them around and pinned Leah to the wall with his body, pulling her legs up and around his waist. His fingers worked deeper into that porcelain skin, holding her up by her ass. “You’re reworking your plans and staying here with me, yeah?” It wasn’t so much a question as it was a demand, nuzzling into her neck and breathing her in again, tongue licking a broad stroke over the spot where her pulse thudded. Remzi bit down as he would with any poor, pathetic human, though he used his human teeth and didn’t make a dent in her perfect skin, just teased at it. God, did he ever want to. The need was almost so bad he was aching all over, aching for her.

What was it about Remzi that drew Leah back every single time? She had yet to place it but realistically she spent little time thinking about it. Instead, she let the good times roll. It was probably because he was a piece of shit most of the time. Arrogant and self-assured, but there were times she watched that falter. Even if it was for a second. Ultimately he made her feel wanted. Even when he was off flirting with another girl in the club his gaze would always float back to her. Same the went for Leah. Always seeking him out at the end of the night. Alongside all that Remzi was fun. He didn’t abide by the rules of society, instead threw a middle finger up at them. He broke laws like they were a piece of fine china. Nothing mattered to him. He was lucky to have her pressing her petite body against his larger frame. There were a number of men out there who would long to feel Leah’s lips on theirs. Remzi should be thankful she chose him, permitted him to touch her. The vampire’s hands drifted down before grabbing hold of Leah’s thighs. Just a simple brush of his fingers along her skin was enough to excite her. Bring the hairs on her body to a stand, and elevating her heart rate by a fraction. She wanted to drag Remzi to her bedroom but refused to give in to temptation. Yet. The night was young and there was a drink waiting for her at the bar with her name on it. The temptation only grew as his fingers ran up her body, resting his hands on her hips. Again, another quiet exhale left her mouth. If only a little higher. Who cared if they drew in an audience? Leah was captivated by Remzi. The surroundings around the pair melting away, as though it was just those two in the world. A power duo. The news that werewolf bit could kill a vampire rattled something inside of Remzi which caused Leah to chuckle. She had been dripping feeding him information on the highs and lows of being a vampire for some time now, but she wasn’t about to let on that she didn’t know everything. Remzi’s eyes drifted past her, onto the wall behind her. She wanted his eyes on her, and her only, but still she listened to his story. Police found him wandering the street with blood on him. It sounded like a hot ordeal. One she wishes she’d been there for, to add fuel to a fire that was already burning. No doubt if they both got pulled in Leah would have pulled a fast one on Remzi. Convinced the officers he’d kidnapped her or something twisted. She could play the damsel in distress quite well, as she’d done many evenings when she and Remzi were out looking for victims. Finally, his eyes were back on her. Where they belonged. The story amused Leah even more though. Remzi sat in a police station, trying to compel the officer and failing miserably. Something she would have paid to see. “This town is full of supernaturals, so good luck trying to compel people” Her hands snaked up his back, before resting on his shoulders. “You should be more careful with your feeding habits around here. Things don’t go unnoticed, not like in LA” The town was small, and a dead body would get picked up in less than 24 hours. In LA it was easier to just toss the bodies in dumpsters where they wouldn’t be found for weeks. Even though she was impressed by Remzi’s ability to elude the police, she wasn’t about to let him know that. Adding to his already huge ego that didn’t need stroking. At least not right now. Swiftly Leah had been flipped the other way. Her body was now pinned against the wall, Remzi’s body holding her up as her legs wrapped around his waist. His hands cupping her ass, fingers digging into her skin. She wanted more than this. His head moved towards her neck as he drew her skin between his teeth. His human teeth. The boring ones. He was demanding she was reworking her plans for the evening. “You should buy a girl a drink first before putting the moves on her” If she was going to bend her night to suit him then he can be the one paying for her alcohol. The bare wall against her skin was cold. The alleyway was growing cold too. She wanted to be inside with a gin and tonic in one hand, and Remzi in the other, unless someone else caught her eye when she arrived. It was always just temporarily though, her body drifted back towards the vampire eventually. Leah placed her hands on Remzi’s bare chest, her nails digging into his flesh for a brief second before pushing him back with her strength. Her feet laid firmly on the floor as she shuffled her dress back down into position, which was just below her ass cheeks, “Stay here… and try not to kill anyone whilst I’m gone” She disappeared, teleporting elsewhere. Leah didn’t leave Remzi for long, returning with a pair of black heels hanging around her wrist and a white t-shirt in her left hand. She always liked him in white. “Here” She ripped the tag from the t-shirt and passed it to Remzi. The blonde tore the stickers from the sole of her brand new heels, removed her sneakers off and slipped into the heels. She looked over towards Remzi, standing only a few inches shorter than him now. The height elonging her legs up towards where his hands had just been lying. “Ready?” It was a rhetorical question. She didn’t give Remzi a chance to answer before grabbing him firmly by the shoulders and teleporting them both inside Emerald City. “Welcome to the only decent bar in Mystic Falls. A place that only allows vampires and other immortal beings in” REMZI DURMAZ

━ like sisyphus pushing that rock uphill, or echo falling for a daffodil ━ Remzi shouldn’t have been surprised when Leah laughed at his misfortune. He took partial responsibility━if he hadn’t sighed and looked away in contemplation, hadn’t made it obvious how the experience rocked him, Leah wouldn’t be so amused. Still, Remzi grumbled to himself, eyes ticking back to her. “Thanks, tips. I’ll keep that in mind.” The ‘bitch’ went unspoken at the end, though it was apparent in his eye roll. He hated adding fuel to her fire, but Remzi couldn’t help it━she got under his skin as if it were her only job. He supposed it was a back-and-forth, but Remzi could only think of himself and how he felt right then and there.
He spun her, a distraction for them both, hands exploring her body. The heat lingering from Leah consumed him, had Remzi lapping and biting her neck as if he could soak it up.
‘You should buy a girl a drink first before putting the moves on her.’
“Why would I ever need to buy you a drink?” Remzi scoffed into her neck, nose nudging her earlobe before he pulled back just enough to meet her eyes. He had a smug smirk on his face, raising his brows as if challenging for her best retort. As if she was worth spending money on━Remzi got a free pass. He expected her to always be at his disposal, and he loved the way she acted whenever he made that obvious.
The fun was over in a matter of moments, Leah’s hands on his chest to shove him away, forcing Remzi to drop his hold and stumble back. He always forgot how strong she was━that itty bitty frame made her appear frail, malleable, able to be bent and tossed around to fit his needs. Remzi preferred her like that━or so he told himself. And he hoped she fell to the ground after that push, but, of course, she landed like a cat.
“I’ll do my best.” Remzi muttered to the dead air after she was gone. Only a moment passed before he wondered why he was waiting around like a little bitch, though he didn’t have time to act on it before Leah reappeared. It was a shame; he would’ve liked to have her pop back up and see that he’d abandoned her.
Not bothering to thank her, Remzi pulled the shirt over his head, snorting while her new heels slid on. “I’m sure the one who gave you those powers hoped you’d use them to shoplift.” It wasn’t the crime; he didn’t care about that, Remzi only wanted to push her buttons. “You don’t bother trying to do your job right, do you? Or anything for someone other than yourself?” He smirked as though it was a game or a tease━as if he wasn’t trying to get a rise out of her. Remzi was the same way; maybe that was why they clashed in a way that was so intoxicating it made it impossible to escape. As if he’d ever want to.
He slipped his arms around Leah’s waist regardless, that shit-eating grin still plastered on his lips. An inhale, and by the time he exhaled, they were in the belly of the beast. Another breath and the residual nausea faded.
It looked like any classy club he’d never been to. Remzi’s spots were always a little more despicable, filled with the music he could hear booming upstairs. Blue eyes drifted from Leah as he stepped away, clocking his surroundings. His gaze fell on a pair locked together on the couch, gentle moans escaping the woman while she was fed on, a vampire with his head buried in her neck. Remzi could hear her heart thudding, blood surrounding her open wound, but it wasn’t until he smelt it did he really have to fight for control.
He reached out for Leah, blindly finding her backside and squeezing her comfort as if it was her hand instead.
The distraction left him unaware of the man that approached, only tuning back in to hear him ask Leah if he could buy her a drink. Remzi swallowed thickly, pushing away the draw of blood and finding the man’s face, glaring straight at him. “You can fuck right off,” Remzi hissed, “She’s not interested.” His hold on Leah tightened, pulling her hip into his. Remzi’s eyes danced up and down the guy, sizing him up. Once he finished assessing, the smirk was back.
“And do you really think she’d choose you over me?”

It was apparent from her features that she didn’t appreciate the eye roll. She wasn’t some kind of ‘how to’ book— how to be a vampire. Until she became a reaper all she knew about vampires was that they were creatures that roamed the night looking to kill humans. Nobody told her how to be a reaper, rather she was just sent on her way one evening to collect a soul. If she didn’t get some handy leaflet then neither should Remzi. “Why would I ever need to buy you a drink?”Fuel added to the fire. The emphasis on the word you. Leah was done feeling the warmth of his body on her, instead she had other plans. Plan to get him a tshirt and venture inside. The only reason she wanted to head inside was so she could flirt with other vampires in front of him. Older and stronger ones. Ones who made him feel feeble and small. Looking to drive home that sharp truth that Remzi was the crème de la crème he thought he was. As she was fastening her heels on blue eyes shot up at Remzi’s comment, a glare plastered on her face as she grabbed hold of Remzi to teleport them both into the bar. She knew he was only looking to push her buttons and if he wanted to play that game then fair enough. She was ready. Once inside Leah turned towards the bar, as she did so Remzi’s hand landed on her backside causing her to bat him away as she spun back around. If she was looking to flirt with others she couldn’t have Remzi holding onto her arse as a sign of deterrence. The vampire was obviously engaged, eyes trained on a couple on the sofa. A woman being fed on by a male. Obviously she couldn’t smell the blood, but she knew Remzi could. In her peripheral vision she spotted a male lingering near the bar and she flashed him an angelic smile. The smile was enough to lure the stranger in. “Can I buy you a drink?” He asked as he approached her. The question was enough to snap Remzi back to the situation in front of him. His hands on Leah once again as he pulled her closer. Marking his territory, though the stranger seemed to be amused by Remzi’s comment. “Good luck with him” The male tossed a look at Remzi before walking off into the crowd. Leah’s body tensed up as she twisted to face Remzi, grabbing the hand which lay on her body. “Well if you’re not going to buy drinks for me I’ll have to get someone else to do it” She tightened the grip on his wrist by a fraction. Obviously she loved seeing Remzi jealous, but she didn’t like him shooing away admirers. Her dad used to always tell her ‘you can't have your cake and eat it too’ and this was a fine example. She wanted to make Remzi jealous but also didn’t want him to react. His comments outside were still present in her mind. Stewing away, “I knew I should have gone for Raik instead of you” She let go of his wrist, throwing it down aggressively. “He’s definitely the better one… more manly and I bet he’s bigger than you in every way... he certainly has bigger muscles” A sinister smirk on her face as she spoke, pleased with the words that tumbled out her mouth. Looking to dig that knife a little bit too deep. REMZI DURMAZ

━ like sisyphus pushing that rock uphill, or echo falling for a daffodil ━ Remzi didn’t like how easy it was for her to manipulate his emotions. He wanted to be the one always dishing it out, never taking it, but some part of this was still as fun as ever. If it wasn’t, it wouldn’t continuously draw him back it. Leah didn’t want to be his girlfriend; they had zero commitments to one another while still having the challenges of a real relationship. There was a constant tugging, a back and forth… but bringing his brother into it was always a step too far.
He knew he was (and would never be) half the man that Raik was. Defending his brother was done without question, but the comparison was always a sore spot. He liked to pretend it didn’t bother him, that people could do and say what they wanted and it just rolled off his back, but he took a small hit each time. And somehow, annoyingly, it was worse coming from Leah.
She was all his. Maybe not in terms of who they hooked up with, but she’d never been a toy tossed between him and his brother. Raik didn’t even like Leah, and now she claimed he was better? The worst part about it all was that Leah knew what she was doing, not jabbing a sword in the dark but aiming right for the target and succeeding. This was one of those moments where he didn’t love to hate her; he just fucking hated her.
All those supposedly ‘small’ muscles stiffened at his sides, hands balling into fists, biceps tensing. He let the anger wash over him for a moment, and then a smirk came, one to mirror hers and keep all the fury at bay. A dam that threatened to spill at any moment. Inching down, Remzi spoke gruffly straight at Leah, looming over her, his voice a rumble that could not hide his emotions. And, to add to his aggression, one hand darted out, closing around Leah’s bicep just as she’d done to his wrist━though he squeezed much harder.
“Raik would never go for trash like you.” Remzi hissed. Raik was also too strong to get manipulated by the likes of Leah, but he left that part out. “You’re lucky I give you the time of day. The choices in LA were slim to none, especially if I wanted a bitch who would teach me about being a vampire. You did a shit job at both.” He paused as though he wanted to say something else━do something else━but she wasn’t worth it. Using his hold on her arm, he shoved Leah back and straightened up.
“Call me when you’re done trying to look for something better━because you won’t find it. Then maybe I’ll let you go home with me.” His smirk held a little more humour this time, feeling as though the playing field was level now. Tit for tat, as it always had been and always would be.

Leah had seen the way Raik looked at her when she was strutting around their apartment in next to nothing. He wasn’t checking her out, rather looking at her with an expression of annoyance. As though Remzi was too good for her. The same Remzi who drained humans on their way home from a night out. It was never Raik she wanted. He was too neat and clean. Not a single hair out of place. Remzi however had that rough edge she was looking for. Someone to feed into the chaos in her life and partake in the destruction. She didn’t need taming, she needed havoc. The vampire provided her with exactly what she needed and more. The comment slammed into the spot she was looking to hit. She was glaring back at him as that smirk crept across his face. She was waiting for him to lose his temper with her, almost encouraging it with the smirk on her lips. She remained still as he wrapped his finger around her bicep, his grip tighter than hers. She didn’t break her gaze though. Blue eyes peering up at his dark ones. Despite her attempt to come across as relaxed her body was tense. Her jaw tightened when Remzi referred to her as ‘trash’. It was his turn to dig the knife in. Even though she paraded around like the whole world should bow at her feet there was still that voice inside her head that told her she’d never be enough. Leah stumbled back a little as Remzi pushed her, that cruel smirk fading from her face as she did so. No matter how many hurtful comments they threw at each other they would still fall into bed together. The vicious cycle that continued to turn. One that was deemed to turn until one of them walked away or they stopped playing with other's emotions. She had truly met her match with Remzi. He didn’t crumble as easily as other men. He bounced back every single mind game she played with, sometimes harsher. It wasn’t that she would find someone better rather find someone who just didn’t make her feel the way Remzi did. Beneath the toxicity and hate, he still made her feel important. “Fine…” Leah shrugged, a smile now back on her face. Brighter than before. She slipped her new shoes from her feet, bending down to pick them up. She stepped forward, closing that gap between the pair, eyes focused on his as she did so, “I’ll go find Raik” In the blink of eye she raised her right hand slightly, jamming the heel of her shoe into the side of Remzi’s thigh, “Something to remember me by” She stood on her tiptoes, her lips brushing lightly against Remzi's before she teleported out of the bar leaving one heel behind.
