Raik liked his life to have structure and a sense of organizing, which was the opposite of what was happening. Right now his life was uncertain and unpredictable. He hated it. The brother's arrived in town trying to help Remzi control his urge to feed on humans, but it felt like every stone they unturned was a dead end. Raik found himself growing impatient; he needed something to distract himself. A job. There was a small stream of bars in the town and that dark, sweaty club and shops. He was keen to stay away from any type of hospital or medic job for now, mainly for his brother's sake. Raik was worried that if he came home with a fraction of human blood on him, it would affect Remzi somehow. Alongside that, he had a stream of messages from his mom asking why they were down in Georgia, when were they coming, are they coming back. Raik had to feed his mom a lie, saying the brother's had friends down in Georgia and they had decided to stay for a while. He wasn't prepared to allow his brother to go back to Detroit anytime soon. There were a few vacancy signs plastered across windows here and there, but nothing stood out to the human. At this point, he could afford to be picky. As he strolled the streets, he wondered how his father must have felt when he arrived in America. He too, wandered the streets of their neighborhood, a stack of resumes in hand trying to get a job anywhere he could, which proved difficult due to English not being his first language. His experience as a teacher in Turkey was dismissed, employers looking for people who had worked in America. Raik lingered outside Campbell's bar for a moment. There was a sign in the window; they were looking for a full-time bartender. He had never worked in a bar or any type of hospitality work, but it could be a change for him. Worlds apart from being on tour, bandaging up wounded soldiers or civilians. He couldn't do anything without printing off his resume. Another job for another day. He headed off inside the bar, his stomach yearning for a burger and fries with a cold cider to wash it down. Raik slid into one of the free booths, reaching for the menu. Raik's concentration was broken by a loud smash nearby. Drawing his eyes away from the menu, he noticed one of the employees had dropped a tray of glasses. Each of them shattered on the floor. The human swiftly got to his feet to help the young female pick the shards up. "Oh thank you!" The employee said, as she realized someone had crouched down beside her to help. "I'll go and grab a brush" She announced, getting to her feet and hurrying off towards the kitchen. Raik picked up the large remnants, placing them on the tray on the floor. He quickly scanned the area to see there were only miniature pieces of glass left. He placed his palm onto the floor, ready to drive himself up but failed to see a sharp part camouflaging with the floor. As Raik pushed his palm into the floor, he felt the glass slice through his skin. Immediately he drew his palm up, seeing a medium-size piece of glass lodged in the palm of his hand. "Ah shit" Raik got to his feet, observing his wound. The glass hadn't penetrated too deep, so he yanked it from his skin as the deep red liquid oozed from the cut. DANIELLE COLLIER - hope this works

━ sorry can't save me now. i'm not okay i feel so scattered ━
EVER since turning, Danielle hadn't been the same. It was like the old Danielle had died, metaphorically of course. And it sucked more than anyone would ever know. Becoming a vampire had ruined everything she had worked for. At only twenty-five she had joined the bureau and was thriving, but one case, one suspect, had seemingly changed the course of her life forever. It was as if she couldn't catch a break. Her entire life had been one tragedy after another. From her Father dying, to her twin brother dying, her Mother's disappearance, Oliver's possession, and then her turning... it was literally one thing after another. Maybe her life had been destined for tragedy from the moment she was born. Sure, Cory was alive once more and for that she couldn't be more thankful. At least the one person she had missed most in this world was back in her life once more, that was one positive in her life. Something she would never take for granted, not after having lost him before.
A habit she had picked up since she has been having issues controlling her urges, was finding a bar and drinking it specifically, whiskey. Liquor seemed to help curb her cravings, even if only momentarily. Tonight was no exception. For some reason she was having an especially difficult time with her cravings an while she probably should steer clear from humans at the moment, hiding away wasn't going to help her gain even an ounce of control. She had to be around humans, be around their blood if she was ever going to truly get a grasp on things. One would think after being a vampire for three years now that she would be better equipped to handle her urges, but that couldn't be further from reality. Danielle was truly alone in this. It wasn't like she had any mentor to help her. But oh did she wish she did..
Campbell's bar war her choice for the night, a different bar from the Mystic Grill, but it was nice to change things up every now and then. It had a different feel to it that's for sure, but here she wouldn't be bothered. Then again, she didn't really look like the kind of person that wanted to be bothered either with her disheveled hair, thrown into a low bun. Putting time into her appearance was the last thing on her mind.
Currently sitting up at the bar, drink in hand, Danielle kept her head down, making sure not to draw any attention to herself. The sound of a loud smash caused her head to snap up as she looked over to see that one of the waitresses had dropped an entire tray of glasses onto the ground, shattering everywhere. Normally Danielle would be there to help, but in that moment, she couldn't be bothered. Besides, she watched as a male walked over and began helping her pick up the pieces. It was being handled and she could go back to her drink. . Except, she couldn't.
Before she knew it, the scent of blood filled the air and her head snapped up, eyes wide. Scanning the room she searched for the source, only to see that the male who had helped the waitress pick up the shards of glass had ended up cutting himself on the glass, her green eyes watched as blood oozed from his wound and she quickly felt her eyes begin to change, veins slithering underneath them like snakes. She had to get out of there. Throwing a bill onto the bar to pay for her drinks, Danielle quickly put her head down, throwing her hood up, and rushed out of there, but not before bumping into someone, but not just any someone... the male who had cut himself. "I'm s-." Before she could finish her apology she had looked down to see the blood that was dripping from his palm onto the ground and suddenly everything in that bar stopped.
Eyes wide, she stared at the male and felt herself beginning to lose control. No, no, not here, not now in a bar full of people she could hurt in seconds. If she let herself give in, she would risk killing every single person in that bar and she wouldn't allow herself to turn into the monster she feared she would turn into. She couldn't. And so without another second to waste, Danielle rushed out of there and went into the alleyway behind the bar. Throwing herself onto the cool, brick wall, she took several deep breaths out as an attempt to calm herself down. Danielle may be a vampire, but she wouldn't turn into the monster the man who had turned her had been. No way in hell.

It wasn’t apparent the glass had cut that deeply until Raik pulled it from his flesh, even then he assessed it to be a minor cut that would heal in a few weeks. He tossed the sharp down on the tray and took a few steps towards the bar and grabbed a napkin off the bar, pushing the tissue into his wound. Immediately he thought of his brother. Could he go home with a fresh cut? Would Remzi lose control? Would he be affected even if Raik put a bandage around it? All the questions are swirling around his head at a million miles per minute, making his heart race as he started to panic. The door of the kitchen swung open and the employee was returning with a brush. Raik didn’t want to make a scene about his cut hand, with the tissue wrapped firmly around his palm he lowered his hand out of sight. Perhaps if he wrapped his hand in a ton of bandages Remzi wouldn’t notice. He couldn’t go back to their motel room until he had done so. Racking his mind, he was certain he spotted a pharmacy on his walk towards the bar. Raik sharply turned away from the employee to head out the bar, but as he did so he collided with a solid object. A person. “I’m so sorry I—” He felt the blood seeping through the tissue, but all that was forgotten when he spotted her eyes. Something which mirrored his brother’s, though he had only seen the change happen once or twice, but it was something he would never forget. The image of his younger sibling manifesting into something else in front of his eyes. It was haunting. Before Raik managed to say anything more the blonde hurried out the bar, and Raik glanced down at his palm. He and Remzi had joked before, saying this was the perfect way to entice a vampire to show themselves. He ran back to the bar grabbing as many napkins as he could, pushing them firmly on his hand. “Sir, are you okay?” The employee with the brush was looking at him, clearly concerned. Raik nodded his head, “All good. Thank you” He replied, before dashing out the bar trying to find the blonde. He just wanted to speak with her. Ask her questions. Anything to help him understand his brother better. His eyes scanned the street but he couldn’t see anyone weaving through the pedestrians in an attempt to put distance between the pair. Raik sighed quietly, preparing himself to head to the pharmacy to bandage himself up. Raik turned left to walk down to the sideway but as he passed the alleyway he spotted someone in his perifocal vision. He turned his head to look down the alleyway. It was the blonde, with her hood up leaning against the brick wall. He forced his hand deep into his pocket, not wanting to trigger her. He stood at the end of the alleyway, hesitant to walk any close to the stranger. It wasn’t as though he was scared of the vampire; rather he didn’t want her to lose control. Remzi had tried to explain to Raik that some vampires cannot control their urges, but insisted he wasn’t one of them. Raik begged to differ. “Hey, you okay? Sorry about bumping into you back there I didn’t see you. Sometimes I just don’t watch where I’m going” He pressed his lips together, trying to formulate a sentence. What if he didn’t see what he thought he saw? “How do you walk in the sun?” He sputtered before he changed his mind and went back to his motel room. If the female was confused he could play it off as some weird chat-up line. DANIELLE COLLIER

DANIELLE didn't know why, but the very fact that her control over hunger had grown increasingly more difficult worried her to no end. Why three years into this hell of a life did she still, to this day, have issues with her cravings? It made no sense to her, shouldn't she have gotten the hang of it by now? Or was she destined to always have this difficulty with control? Hell, she didn't know and she sincerely hoped it wasn't the latter. All her life she had been excellent in every endeavor, always the top of her class as she picked up on things quickly, but this? This vampire life was something she was finding herself unable to pick up on quickly, fumbling through life hoping she didn't fall apart completely and rip apart everyone in sight. That was her nightmare, and one she had quite frequently when she managed to get even an ounce of sleep. Which wasn't often. For being undead one would think you'd be able to sleep like it. Fat chance.
Rushing the hell out of the bar, Danielle needed to get as far away from humans as physically possible. The very fact that she was losing control in public was immensely concerning, not just for her, but for everyone around her. Leaning her head against the cool brick wall she let out a deep sigh as to try and calm herself down. "Pull it together Dani.." She whispered to herself, hoping that she would be able to do just that, only she wasn't very optimistic. Then again, when had she ever been? Never, that's when. She always was the more pessimistic twin out of the two, chopping her pessimism down to being realistic and nothing more. Yeah, some realist she was with being something that shouldn't exist in this world and yet, there she was defying reality.
Preparing herself to head home, she heard footsteps approaching her and her head snapped in the firecton of the entrance of the alleyway, which just so happened to be the only entrance and exit to where she currently stood. Shit. Danielle felt like an animal trapped in a corner and that never good, for anyone involved. She hated being backed into a corner and that was precisely what was happening in that moment. Her green eyes stared at the man who she had bumped into her back in the bar approach her, but made a point to keep his distance. Smart on his part. The smell of blood hit her nostrils as he grew closer and she immediately tensed up, her hands balling into fists as she attempted to control herself. Now was not the time to lose all control. She didn't need another body she was responsible for.
The male asked if she were okay and apologize for bumping into her earlier. Before she could even reply and tell him how it was fine and that she had to go, he promptly asked her how she walked in the sun. Any normal person would never ask another person that question. It was such a random, specific, question that she couldn't even dismiss it. It was clear that he knew what she was. The question all but confirmed it. Danielle didn't need this guy telling others about her being a vampire. A witch hunt was not something she wanted or needed to deal with, especially now. In the blink of an eye she had grabbed the male and had shoved him roughly against the brick wall at the back of the alleyway, the two hidden by the shadows. "How the hell do you know what I am." She hissed as she shoved the male away from her grasp, making sure to put some distance between the two as to help calm herself down so that she wouldn't attack the male, but if he provoked her in any fashion, she couldn't control what she did next.

Naive, as always, Raik believed the vampire wouldn’t hurt him. Why would she? He’d done nothing wrong, instead, he was trying to be a good person by burying his cut hand deep into his pocket, ignoring his brother’s warning that some vampires were savage, seeing humans as nothing but food. Despite all the killing he’d seen whilst on tour in the military he still tried his best to see the righteousness in the world. Even when he watched a bullet pierced through the side of his best friend’s temple, or as he was pouring cold water on the burns of dying children after their school was bombed. Even then Raik clung to the idea that the world was a good place. There were just a few bad eggs out there, but overall the human race was kind. But that world was slowly crumbling apart in front of his eyes, slipping through his fingers like liquid every single day thanks to the revelation that vampires existed. Things that were designed to kill. His brother was out there killing people. Committing murder for the sake of blood. Yet Raik was still making excuses for his sibling, telling himself Remzi didn’t mean to hurt anyone. Being too trusting of everyone around him would be his downfall one day. Some days he felt he trusted his brother a little too much, especially when he heard their motel door click shut in the early hours of the morning. Perhaps it was better if he didn’t ask where his brother had been all night. Just bury his hand in the sand for a little while longer until he was forced to face the truth. There was no going back from this. But finally he’d found another vampire. One that was walking in the daylight as well. He didn’t mean to antagonise her though, he just wanted some answers. Her body language changed when she spotted Raik lingering nearby. Was this a mistake? The only vampire he had dealt with was Remzi. It was clear from his face Raik was surprised as the female grabbed hold of him, with a strength that matched his brother’s and him against the brick wall, winding him in the process. He knew he didn’t stand a chance against this woman as he was barely able to fend Remzi off when he came Raik whilst in transition. His military training came into practice with his brother though, able to use self-defence otherwise his brother would have torn him apart. “I—” The vampire thankfully put some distance between the pair as Raik caught his breath “I’m sorry I didn’t mean to... “ Another apology. Pinching the bridge of his nose he sighed before letting his hand fall, “Look my brother is what you are and right now he's hiding in our motel room until the sun goes down... he’s very new to all of this and… and I don’t really know what to do” The final part of his sentence stung hard. He didn’t know how to help his young brother and it was eating him alive. Raik was the big brother in this, the protector, the problem solver but he’d failed Remzi. He’d failed in his role as big brother. DANIELLE COLLIER

DANIELLE knew she had to be very careful on how she proceeded next. The very fact that this guy had confronted her like he had was suspicious in of itself. Either that or he was incredibly stupid. Why the hell would he confront a vampire like he just had knowing that the outcome probably wouldn't end well for him? It made no sense to her. Did he have a death wish? When she had rushed out of that bar it wasn't because she was just leaving, she left because of the blood. The instant the man was cut she had smelt it. The delicious scent hitting her nose and almost sent her into a frenzy. After years of being a vampire she would have thought she would have been control over her urges, but it had been the opposite effect. Then again, she had been all alone in her transition as she had killed the man who had turned her in the first place. Unlike others like her, she didn't have a mentor, someone to explain to her how to be a vampire, how to control her urges. Instead she had been alone in all of this, having to figure it all out on her own. It had been rather difficult, but she had managed somehow.
Keeping her distance from the man she listened as he apologized once more for approaching her like he had. Danielle sighed, it was clear he didn't mean any harm, but approaching her like he had wasn't the smartest decision on his end either. What if she wasn't one of the good ones? What if she were one of the vampires who liked harming humans? Liked drinking from them without any remorse whatsoever? What then? He would be screwed, that's what. There wouldn't be a conversation to be had like the one they were having at the moment. Hell, he would have been dead the moment he had approached. Thankfully, for his sake, Danielle wasn't like those vampires she spoke of. She didn't drink from the vein and did not harm humans who didn't deserve it. She purposely had chosen to drink from blood bags, not wanting to hurt innocents. There had been one person she had killed during her vampire years and it was because of the monster who had turned her, in that state she couldn't control herself and as such, ended up killing an innocent, something she vowed she would never do again.
This time was no exception.
Hearing him speak of his vampire being exactly what she was made her frown ever so slightly, especially when he mentioned how he was currently hiding out until the sun went down, which meant he couldn't walk in the sun like she did. Instinctively her eyes drifted to the ring on her finger, one that made it so she could do what this guy's brother couldn't: walk in the sun. 'I don’t really know what to do.' His last words were almost like a plea for help. That he was out of options and that is why he had approached her in the first place, because he had met another like his brother who he wanted to help but didn't know how to. She knew that feeling all too well back when her own brother had cancer and she wasn't able to do anything to help him, all she could do was stand helplessly by until he finally got better.
After a few moments of silence between the two, Danielle looked up at him. "Okay. Okay. I'm sorry I reacted like I did but you have to understand, having a complete stranger approach you like you did sent me into the offense. But even with that being said... I get it. I also have a brother so I know why you did it, just wasn't the best way to go about it if I am being completely honest." She explained as she leaned against the brick wall, opposite of the male. "I'll answer whatever questions you may have. Maybe I can help in some way." She said, offering an olive branch to the human in front of her. If she would help, she would do so. It was just who she was, always the helper. That didn't disappear just because she had become a vampire. If anything, it had only heightened that part of her.

His parent’s exchanged concerned glances when Raik announced he was going to join the military. A man who could barely kill a spider signed up to the military. His dad explained to him in a low voice that one day he might have to pull the trigger and end a life. His mom spiralled into a rant that it went against their religion for him to do such a thing, and pleaded he rethought his life choices. There was a wash of relief over their faces when he explained he wasn’t going to fight, but rather to help as a medic. His mom still needed a lot of convincing, which took months. Even when he was heading off onto his first tour his mom stood soured face on the driveway. His dad however was proud of Raik, waving him off with a smile on his face. Nonetheless, a gun was thrashed into his hands as the realization dawned that he might have to use it, but this was a career he had chosen to take. The pros and cons were drilled into him during training. Nothing was sugar-coated from the outset. Everything was different out there. The survival instinct set in and he held tightly onto his gun, ready to use it if necessary. Thankfully the day never came for Raik, unlike most of the other soldiers. Some days he would be sitting eating lunch with everyone, dark eyes scanning the area wondering who had made that decision to take another's life. Sometimes that’s what he told himself with Remzi. He was a soldier on the field, driven by their desire to live. Part of that included drinking human blood. Neither of them was sure what would happen if Remzi chose not to drink. It was unlikely such a thing would happen though. Despite Remzi denying everything, Raik could see his sibling was struggling with that aspect of things. As a human, he’d overindulged in things and alcohol, but now he was presented with a new vice. Blood. Though he couldn’t overdose on such a thing Raik was concerned his brother was going to lose control. Just how he did when he OD'd. Remzi tried to wash it off, saying their mom was overreacting, but their dad refuted Remzi’s version of the story. Another apology was on the tip of his tongue, but instead, he remained silent, listening to the stranger. He already expressed enough sorry’s. Of course it wasn’t the best way to approach the situation, but Raik wasn’t thinking rather acting. All he knew at that moment was that there was potentially a person who could help his brother. His actions were purely driven by the need to help Remzi. Raik drew his hand up, rubbing the back of his neck as he thought for a moment. A thousand questions were running through his mind, but for now he had to pick out the most important ones, rather than drown the vampire in them. “Thank you…” He spoke, bringing his hand back down again as he shifted his weight to his left foot, “How can my brother get one of those daylight rings?... And” He paused, sighing harshly as he already knew the answer. “It’s permanent right? Like… he’s a vampire forever?” His voice laced with sadness as the word vampire felt foreign in his mouth. It was something that belonged in fictional books and on the internet. Something that shouldn’t exist in the real world and his brother certainly shouldn’t be one. Though he already knew the answer to his last questions and it broke his heart every time he thought about it. “Also, my brother tried to compel something the other day and it didn’t work… does it not work on everyone?” Apparently the skill failed on the police officer a few nights ago when Remzi was brought in for questioning after being found wandering the streets covered in blood. DANIELLE was the kind of person who would help anyone in need, it was just in her nature to do so. Hell, ever since becoming a vampire that part of her had been amplified times ten. With her background in law enforcement she had always had this need to help. Before she had become a cop she had volunteered often, especially at the hospital when Cory was in there for his cancer. Whatever she could do, she would do it. This situation was no different, granted the guy could have gone about this in a completely different way rather than blindsiding her like he had. Cornering a vampire was not a smart move, especially one who was having issues with control. Definitely wasn't smart, but she could see just how desperate this guy was to help his brother and she understood that more than he would ever know. When it came to her brother, she would do whatever she had to in order to help him and she could see that this guy was the very same.
She respected that.
As she waited on him to begin asking his questions, Danielle leaded up against the brick wall, kicking one heel up onto it. She was sure he had a million questions and she would answer any that he had to the best of her ability. granted, she knew she probably should have just left while she could. There was no telling if this guy was a hunter masquerading as a brother in need, but she would worry about that later. For now she would worry about helping him. If it kicked her in the ass later on, she would deal with it then.
Finally, he began asking questions, beginning with the very first question he had asked her. How did she walk in the sun? Danielle raised her hand up as she stared at the daylight ring that was on her finger, grateful she had one and wasn't a slave to the shadows. "You need to find a witch willing to make one for you. Trust me, that isn't as easy as it sounds. Witches are known to hate vampires." She explained as she twirled the ring on her finger before dropping her arm back down to her side as she waited on the next question, and the one he asked made her frown. "Yes, it's permanent. As far as I know there isn't a cure for vampirism." She said with a sigh. If only such thing existed, she would take it in a heartbeat, but she had to be realistic too. With everything happening in the world where the supernatural was concerned, it was best she as a vampire because she was better equipped to protect herself and others.
Hearing his next question made her raise an eyebrow, Compelling hadn't been something she had done often as she didn't like to take away the free will of others who didn't deserve it, but it it hadn't worked on whoever he had tried to compel there were a few reasons why that was from what she had learned throughout the years. "There's a few reasons why it didn't work. Could have been that they were on vervain, a plant that is toxic against vampires and prevents compulsion. They could have ingested it or had been wearing it somehow. Or it could have been that they weren't necessarily human. From what I've read and seen, certain supernatural creatures can't be compelled by vampires." She explained, hoping she was able to answer his questions. Given her nature, Danielle made sure to do as much research as she could on vampires, especially after she had become one herself. She liked to be as informed as possible, which is what she had done whenever Oliver had been possessed by a demon: had obsessed with researching everything there was about the creature so that when the time came to confront it, she would be ready.

So it wasn’t going to be as simple as walking up to a witch and asking for a daylight ring. Remzi had the tendency to rub people up the wrong way, vampire or human. Raik knows that's another reason he was dragged into the police station that evening. He was considered to be a well presented man, who wouldn't lie. One look into his military background and people tended to respect him automatically. The police officer didn't buy it as much as others. Something odd went on in that interview room between the officer and Remzi, but as always his brother assured him everything was in hand. That usually meant it wasn’t though. Absolute nothing was in hand and carnage was going to ensue. He didn’t push the subject any further with his brother though, rather he was grateful the pair had been released without any charges. Remzi still in his blood soaked clothes, with that annoying grin plastered across his face. A grin that said ‘we got away with it even though Raik didn’t know what it was. It was a wonder Raik hadn’t turned grey with stress yet and he had checked a few times in the mirror. “Yeah, we heard we needed a witch… and my brother isn’t the most… he tends to say the wrong things to people” He remarked, a soft sigh followed. “How did you find a witch?” Did they accept bribery? Money? Raik would pay a large sum to have his brother feel the sun again. A sprinkle of normality back in their life. Pretending that evening in Vegas never happened and his brother wasn’t dead. Which would work fine until the smell of blood passed Remzi’s nose and those unnatural veins crept down his face. Something which he had only witnessed once, but it was an image he’d never forget. The nightmares he had following his tour were slowly being replaced with real life nightmares. Vivid dreams of his brother losing control and killing the people he loved. He would wake some mornings tangled in the stiff motel bedsheets, trying to claw his way out as the sweat rolled down his neck. Remzi would usually be in the bed next to him. Fast asleep as though their world as they knew wasn’t crumbling around them. Her tone indicated she was just as disappointed at the lack of cure as him. It was a blow hearing it come from someone else, but it needed to happen. He needed to accept what had happened and try to move forward. Somehow, someway. “I thought as much…” His voice trailed off quietly, as his mind was churning over the information. Permanent. Forever. The brothers needed to think about what they were going to say to their parents or even their friends back in Detroit. He hated to think of Remzi alone in the world after everyone around him had passed on. Raik nodded in response to her explanation. Vervain, whatever the hell that was, or someone supernatural was a plausible explanation, “He thought it worked on everyone” He let out a short chuckle, somewhat amused by the thought of Remzi trying to compel his way out of the police station. He could laugh about it now, but at the time his palms were clammy as he was trying to explain Remzi hadn’t killed anyone. Despite the red stains on his clothes, “And… um… the blood lust… is it easy to control?” He paused, clearing his throat as he glanced over at the stranger, “Because my brother keeps telling me he has everything under control, but… I don’t believe it… he’s the type to overindulge in things. Never knows when to stop” things, alcohol, girls. Whatever vice it was Remzi was there for it and Raik was concerned his sibling was replacing all of that with human blood. DANIELLE COLLIER

━ sorry can't save me now. i'm not okay i feel so scattered ━
UNDER normal circumstances Danielle wouldn't have even bothered involving herself in this situation, but this guy seemed desperate to help his brother, something she could relate to. Sibling bonds were her weak point. Losing her twin brother and then getting him back years later had made her change. Change in the sense that she would worry herself so much about Cory, about where he was, what he was doing, that she could barely function. She was terrified that she would lose him again and that second loss would cripple her entirely. It would be something that she wouldn't be able to recover from, nor would she truly want to. If she lost her brother again whatever humanity she had been holding onto, would be gone. One of the parts of being a vampire was the option to turn their humanity on or off, like a little switch you could flip. All it would take as one more loss, one more tragedy, and she would turn it all off. Danielle would shut down, wouldn't be able to survive that grief, nor did she really want to.
She couldn't do this without her brother. She wouldn't. Not after having just gotten him back. Cory was her anchor, the one thing keeping her humanity from dissipating completely until there was nothing left of it.
The guy spoke again, asking how she found a witch. "I had a friend who was a witch. I had done her a favor a while back when I was human and she returned the favor." She explained, propping one foot up onto the brick wall as she leaned her head back against the cool pavement of the brick. "Witches don't typically like vampires, so if you ever do find one willing to help you, consider yourself lucky." She said, hoping he would realize finding a witch and getting them to actually help you wasn't as easy as it sounded. To be honest, she was sure her friend only helped her because she had done her a huge favor a few years back and she felt as though she owed her. Thank god she did because being a slave to the shadows wasn't exactly her idea of a good time. Or a way of living. Fuck, that would've drove her insane if she wasn't able to experience the sunlight. She could only imagine how this guy's brother might feel.
It seemed as though he didn't like her response to the possibility of a cure to vampirism and honestly, neither did she. She smiled apologetically at his words, seeing the disappointment in his facial expressions. Being stuck like this forever wasn't ever what she wanted out of her life, she hated what she was. Hated having to life off of blood, hated knowing that she would never grow old, would never be able to have kids. Hell, would never be able to have a normal life ever again. Slowly she had begun to come to terms with that notion, but it still never got any easier thinking about it.
'He thought it worked on everyone,' he said, chuckling slightly. "He definitely want to be careful with that. He tries and compel someone who can't and he could find himself in trouble." She warned, hoping he would see it wasn't anything to laugh about. One wrong move and he could see himself face to face with a hunter, people who hated the supernatural and wished them dead. Vampires and especially new vampires needed to be extra careful, especially in this town.
'And… um… the blood lust… is it easy to control? Because my brother keeps telling me he has everything under control, but… I don’t believe it… he’s the type to overindulge in things. Never knows when to stop.' And the one question she had hoped he wouldn't ask, because she still to this day struggled with her bloodlust. "It isn't," she said honestly, looking over at the guy, a frown written across her lips. "I've been a vampire going on a few years now and I still find myself struggling at times, which you were witness to earlier. If he had issues overindulging when he was a human, that will be amplified ten-fold now that he's a vampire." She said, more as a warning than an explanation. If the guy's brother was the kind of person who overindulged and had issues with control before, that would only get worse with being a av. Everything a person experienced in their human life, personality traits addictions, whatever it may be, would only be amplified as a vampire. How did she know this?
She had experienced it first hand with her emotions making her feel as though she was going to explode from the intensity of how she felt them. Being a vampire wasn't all sunshine and rainbows as television and movies led you to believe. No matter how much she wished it were true.

The idea of getting Remzi’s a ring was slipping through their fingers day by day. The pair didn’t even know such a world existed until six months ago. The only other supernatural they knew was Leah and she apparently lacked the expertise to help Remzi, though Raik didn’t believe a single word that fell out of the woman’s mouth. It was going to be difficult, but not impossible, to find a witch to help his brother. Raik knew he wouldn’t give up until a gold band was lying on his sibling’s finger. This was just another task set to him, and he hated failing. Even though the stranger wasn’t technically helping him with his search, it was comforting to speak to another. Expressing concerns that he was too scared to admit to Remzi. Every day he was waking up and trying his best to plaster on a fake smile. Wearing a face that hid his crippling worries. But the cracks were beginning to show and the mask had started to slip. The first few weeks were fine as he buried his head so far in the sand, but over time reality set in. The truth of what had happened to his brother started to consume him day by day. It was suffocating at times and even though the pair were going through it Raik couldn’t help but feel alone at times. His brother had died and there was absolutely no one he could share this with. The female however didn’t find amusement in Raik’s story. Her tone remained serious as ever, which prompted the smile to fall from his face as she told him Remzi needed to be careful with his compulsion. Sure, he’d relay the message back to his brother but it would only be a matter of time before Remzi tried to compel the wrong person. It was a new trick for him to use and he was keen to trick it on everyone. Like a child with a new toy, wanting to show it off to the world. Remzi was a magnet for trouble though. Attracted it wherever they went, usually through his own behaviour and words, “It’s good to know it doesn’t work on everyone” He retorted with a small nod. He assumed it still worked on him though. He’d love to say Remzi would never compel him to forget something or lie for him, but he knew his brother. A man who acts then thinks. Again, he nodded in response to the woman’s comments, that serious look so resting on his features. The dial on Remzi’s life had been cranked to the highest setting, but he was denying it. For each human Remzi drained, Raik couldn’t help but feel somewhat responsible for their death. It was the guilt he’d take to the grave. He knew his brother had been struggling after finding him wandering the streets of LA preying on hopeless humans. His morals were being tested every day. Murder was bad, it was a crime, yet he still stood by his sibling after all he’d done. He sighed deeply, shuffling his weight from one leg to another, his hand still buried deep in his pocket. “Thank you for answering my questions… I really appreciate it” A smile formed on his face, “And I’m sorry for earlier. For approaching you the way I did” The cut had started to burn a bit as he closed his hand into a fist, “Anyway I gotta get back to my brother… again thank you” With a small nod he spun back around, to walk out of the alleyway.
