til now. Born to the leader of the Elk Lake coven and his wife, three years after her brother Lawrence made his appearance, Phoebe led a fairly sheltered life at first. A little enclave in British Columbia and the certainty that it would be Lawrence taking her dad's place one day meant that there was little weight on Phoebe's shoulders. That all changed when a nest of vampires arrived in the family, an immediate stamping out of them by her parents painted a target on their childrens' backs. First Lawrence was turned and then three years later, in an attempt to cripple the coven entirely they came back for Phoebe. Sent away by her parents she headed for Alaska, for a few decades she holed up in the wilderness, feeding on those who stumbled upon her cabin, always sending them on their way afterwards. A decade after the death of the man she'd lived with and had loved for part of that time, Phoebe left again. Finding herself in another supernatural community after an attack left them in need of a sheriff, Phoebe spent the better part of forty years strapping on a badge and playing at Wyatt Earp. A growing frustration at the lack of real justice pushed her to trade in the badge for the possibility of a law degree. Travelling to Mystic Falls Phoebe compelled her way onto the course and in a moment of serendipity has found out that her brother might actually be in town.
friends. Phoebe was the wild child of the coven growing up. Very independent minded, very close to her brother Lawrence, but always willing to tag along with others. She has a tendency to push others to be better, to do better, but unless you're truly close to her she won't refrain from using what she is against you if it gets her what she needs, short of real physical harm. The ring leader type, Phoebe is always happy to drag others along with her into mischief.
enemies. Once upon a time Phoebe had none but when the vampires came to hunt in Elk Lake her family made enemies for themselves. First her brother Lawrence was turned by the soul survivor of the vampire nest, then just three years later Phoebe was turned too. Those vampires are still out there and over time Phoebe has slowly turned against all of those she can see getting away with injustices. Hurt someone and she finds out about? She'll make sure you suffer.
family. Living family, as far as Phoebe knows consists of just her brother Lawrence, who is three years older. Their parents were the leaders of the coven in Elk Lake and all of their hopes were pinned on their son and then their daughter to continue their line but thanks to the vampires who visited their community, that chance was lost.
lovers. Phoebe knew from a young age that she was attracted to both boys and girls. At 13 her first kiss was with another girl from the coven. After she was turned and settled in Alaska she was in a relationship with a man for close to 15 years but human as he was, he died young from cancer. Joshua's death left Phoebe unwilling to get herself involved with anybody full term and so it was a string of men and women who flitted out of her bed. Almost sixty years later and that hasn't changed. Cracking that shell and getting her to commit isn't going to be easy.
