━ watch me make them bow ━ Harmony was trying to learn to be more careful. After the run-in with that fucking banshee, she knew she was walking on thin ice. She could manipulate just about anybody she wanted, but it only went so far━and the pack seemed to be planning on staying in Mystic Falls for a while, so she had to make sure she could stay safe there and keep herself out of sticky situations.
At least now she knew she couldn’t be with anybody else. And while it was frustrating and confusing, she wouldn’t need to try to test it again, avoiding another massive shitshow. Harmony had gotten lucky when the banshee found her, and she knew that.
So, with her hair shifted to a colour much darker than her usual pale blue, she moved through the woods, trying to find any evidence she may have left behind from a previous meal. She was out before the fucking crack of dawn, the sun peeking out from behind the horizon, shooting bits of orangey-yellow streaks through the sky. The siren wasn’t at all interested in the pretty sunrise, though━she wanted to search around and get the fuck back to the hotel before anybody came out for a morning run, or whatever mentally-balanced humans did.
Harmony moved off the trail, trying to remember exactly where she’d taken the man. Dew wet her shoes, the cool breeze tickling at the patches of it, though the rest of her body was safe, shielded by a sweater and ripped jeans. Well, her torso would be fine, at least━it didn’t matter to her; Harmony was used to a lot less clothing than this.
When she spotted the body, Harmony figured she’d found what she was looking for━leftover evidence. As she approached, though, she realized she was far from the truth. First of all, it was a girl, and she wasn’t decomposed at all, though she was covered in blood. Harmony froze for a second, eyeing her stomach, watching for the rise and fall that would indicate proof of life. When it came, she moved to the girl’s side, kneeling beside her. Typically, she didn’t give a shit about anybody outside of the pack, but this was… different. Maybe she saw herself in this girl━stranded and naked, waking up somewhere random, somehow escaping serious danger. Or maybe she was a wolf, newer to the game than the Dubois, who’d been raised into a large pack━children of the Alpha. The full moon was the night before, it made sense, but she wasn’t immediately jumping to any conclusions.
“Jesus Christ, you need to get up and get out of here,” Harmony huffed, pulling her sweater over her head, leaving her arms bare to the climate. She still had a t-shirt on, though━this girl was literally completely naked━obviously she needed it more. Years of being a siren had made her indifferent towards nudity, but she was aware that others didn’t see it that way. And if this girl wasn’t a wolf, then she could surely freeze to death.
The fabric was pressed to her torso, a shield for her hands before shaking the girl lightly. A gentle, two-finger touch to her pulse pretty much answered Harmony’s question for her. Werewolf━definitely not freezing to death, and hungover from the full moon. “Are you okay?” Just because she wasn’t an icicle didn’t mean everything was fine; the blood made that obvious. Years of caring for the pack might’ve been the reason why Harmony was so quick to intervene, ready to shed her clothing to make sure the girl was comfortable. “Is this your blood or somebody else’s?”

This was Kitty's first full moon away from home, and she was bricking it say the least. She had put on a brave voice for her sisters, telling them everything was okay and she would be fine, but realistically she was terrified. She considered driving back to Atlanta for the evening but then remembered those men could still be in the woods looking for her. Well, they were looking for an animal rather than looking for her. It was not safe for her there on a full moon, but she had no idea whether Whitmore College would be any safer for her. There was a chance she was never going to be 100% safe now, and the wolf needed to learn how to protect herself. The main reason she was so scared was that she was alone in all of this. Her sisters would usually be on standby. They would come and find her in the morning, bring her fresh clothes and water. She had no one here to do that for her, and if anything was to happen, there was no one around to help her. Kitty had spent the past few nights driving around near Whitmore College and Mystic Falls to find a woodland area for her to shift. The location was not short of woodland areas, which she was thankful for. The wolf had decided to head towards Mystic Falls and away from Whitmore College. She did not want to be anywhere near somewhere people may know her, which was unlikely as she had only been at the college a few weeks, but it was not a chance she was willing to take. Since becoming a wolf, Kitty realized two things. One, it was better to strip off naked before shifting; that way, she did not rip any of her clothing. Secondly, she never fought the transition. It was easier to let it just happen. Once the shift started, though, she did not give a fuck that she was nude in public as she was too distracted by the excruciating pain of all her bones breaking. “Jesus Christ, you need to get up and get out of here,”It was a standard morning after the full moon where Kitty came round not knowing where the hell she was or what happened the night before. Sometimes she would have snippets of memories; sometimes, it would be a complete blackout for her. Last night was a blackout, and she woke up feeling groggy and disoriented. The wolf felt a piece of clothing touch her chest as she became conscious. Someone was shaking her now, trying to wake her up. "Ugh…" Her right eye flickered open as her left remained tightly shut. Her eye patch was with her clothes somewhere in the woods. Her vision was blurry but slowly coming into focus as she peered up at the sky, trying to figure out where she was. The wolf quickly snapped into focus. It was the morning, and she was lying in the woods, her skin tainted with dirt and blood with dry leaves and sticks tangled in her frizzy hair. It was freezing too. "Oh, shit," Kitty bolted upright, holding onto the jumper which was covering her chest, "Fuck!" She noticed the blood tainting her skin, "I… I don't know" She drew her arm up to her nose as she gave the fresh blood a sniff, "Smells like animal blood" She was still training her sense, though, so she was not confident on that prediction. She prayed it was not human blood, as she could not face the idea that she may have hurt someone again. Kitty was too preoccupied with the blood to register that someone was actually next to her. Someone had found her naked in the woods, covered in blood. How was she going to explain this? "Erm... I tend to sleepwalk," She explained as she brushed the hair back out of her face. Sleepwalk and attack animals? She was terrified this person was going to call the police or an ambulance. HARMONY

━ watch me make them bow ━ Harmony quickly remembered that this wasn’t the Landes in France, and she wasn’t speaking to a pack member that knew her as a healer. This girl had no idea who she was and wasn’t going to immediately trust her━it was a good thing, too. Harmony absolutely hated people who were gullible━unless it worked in her favour, of course.
The siren shifted to rest on the back of her legs as the wolf sat up, blue eyes still carefully examining her. She smelled the blood, thankfully stating that it was from an animal, though her follow-up excuse had Harmony letting out a sharp laugh. Giving the dark-haired girl an incredulous look, she quirked one brow and tilted her head to the side, genuinely wondering if she was serious. She’d just sniffed the blood, claimed she knew what it was just by the smell, and seriously tried to cover it up afterwards?
She might not be gullible, but this girl clearly wasn’t very smart.
Instead of calling her out on the lie, Harmony reached out, smearing the blood on the pad of her thumb. Lifting it to her mouth, she licked off the crimson splotch, face immediately twisting up in distaste. “Ew.” She muttered, “Yeah, definitely animal blood.” A smirk replaced the disgusted expression after a moment, using her thumb and forefinger to gently pinch the fabric of the sweater.
“You don’t have to bullshit me, honey.” Harmony nearly sneered, a patronizing edge to her voice. “I know you’re a werewolf. Did you leave your clothes somewhere, or were you planning on trying to get home naked?” Brows raised, her chin tilted upwards, watching the wolf as if she was a child in need of babysitting, one who’d made a stupid decision━in Harmony’s eyes, at least. She wanted to help, of course, but she wasn’t going to break down and dote on the stranger. The wolf wasn’t family, she wasn’t pack, and now that Harmony knew she wasn’t dying, the siren wasn’t going to go out of her way to heal her. She’d stick around, though━even if she was a bitch in the process.

This was Kitty’s worst nightmare coming true. Someone finding her in the woods the morning after a full moon. She could explain away the naked part, but the blood probably not. She was too exhausted from the previous night to try and think up a half-decent excuse for the blood. Her bones were throbbing, and her head was pulsating. However, this girl didn’t look concerned at all. She wasn’t running off in the opposite direction screaming, calling 911. Kitty was truly perplexed by this girl. The sharp laugh from the stranger indicated she wasn’t buying Kitty’s sleepwalking explanation. It was the best she had though. The girl reached forward and wiped some of the blood from Kitty’s skin with her thumb, before licking the blood from her thumb. “What the…” How did she know it was animal blood, and why the hell did she taste it? The wolf wondered whether the girl was one of those vampires she had heard about. Seconds later the girl called Kitty out on her lies. "Erm… what… how do you know?" There was no point trying to deny this any further, though she didn’t appreciate the girl’s condescending undertone, she had no energy to call her out on it. She couldn’t decide whether this girl wanted to help her or not, her demeanour was questionable. Either way, she had been kind enough to cover Kitty with her sweater, so that was something. “My clothes should be lying around here somewhere” She scanned her surroundings to get her bearings. When the full moon was drawing to a close, and the morning was creeping in, Kitty would always try and get herself back to where she started. "They should be underneath that fallen tree over there" Kitty nodded towards a trunk that lay in the distance. She had made the mistake of leaving her belongings near a tree before, and the following day spent what felt like hours trying to find her clothes because all trees look the same. "Do you mind grabbing them for me?" It would be saved Kitty having to walk naked through the woods, trying to cover herself with a jumper "There should be a hoodie, underwear, jeans, boots and a black eye patch" She knew better than to bring anything valuable out with her on a full moon. ━ watch me make them bow ━ She figured licking the blood off her finger would be enough explanation that Harmony wasn’t an ignorant human━or a move that would present her as a crazy person. Whatever, she thought. If this girl didn’t want her help, then Harmony would move on. It really didn’t matter to her━even if assisting the werewolf would give Harmony the warm, fuzzy feeling in her stomach that felt so new and uncomfortably positive.
‘Erm… what… how do you know?’
“‘Cause you’re lying naked in the woods, the morning after a full moon, with animal blood on you.” Harmony snorted, rolling her eyes as if it were obvious. She was speaking plainly, not bothering with semantics━there was no time for it, anyway. She had to get this girl cleaned, dressed and on her way home before some idiot came for their morning jog through the woods. Not that… Harmony cared what she did━or so she was telling herself.
“I’m… part of a werewolf pack.” It was a weak explanation, barely any information whatsoever, and yet the siren was tensing as if she’d said too much. It wasn’t entirely true anymore, either━the Dubois’ were a fraction of what they used to be and had no official Alpha anymore, but it’d been true at one time. Where her soft spot for wolves was born, finally finding herself a home━a place to stay for more than a few months━even if they were practically a group of wild animals.
‘My clothes should be lying around here somewhere. They should be underneath that fallen tree over there.’
Her eyes didn’t follow where the girl was looking, staying on her face, brows raising. Was she expecting Harmony to get them for her? Really? And, finally, the request came, pulling an annoyed grumble from the siren. She was here to help, though, so she supposed she couldn’t blame the wolf for asking. It was Harmony’s fault for presenting herself this way, as a saviour swooping in for all werewolves that needed her help.
Without a word of complaint, Harmony pushed herself up and marched to the fallen tree that’d been indicated. She found the small pile by the trunk, bending to scoop it up and sort through them quickly, double-checking that everything was accounted for. In a matter of minutes, she was back at the girl’s side, kneeling and handing over the fabric in her hand. Her opposite one held the girl’s boots, which she laid by her bare feet. “Everything’s here━even the eye patch.” Harmony pointed out, noting it specifically, finding it strange more than anything. Two blue eyes scanned the girl’s face, boring a hole into the one closed eye as if she had x-ray vision. “Did you lose it?” She asked. Harmony was aware that sometimes a patch was needed for minor injuries, but it would’ve healed by now━unless she was faking it for some human friends. “How?” A further prod, as if Harmony had any right to ask after not even sharing her own name or what she was.

This girl's reaction to her appearance was both unnerving and comforting all at once. There was nothing normal about finding a naked person lay in the woods covered in blood, and the average Joe would have darted the other way. It was comforting the girl was so chilled about the whole situation, though, putting Kitty's mind at ease. The situation could have played out a lot worse if someone else found her, so she was thankful to the stranger, despite her cold persona. Kitty frowned a little, "Wait, are you a wolf too?" Her sister had found some bits online about werewolf packs and told Kitty she needed to join one, because it would make her stronger or something, but it wasn't if they were advertised on the buy and sell board at her college halls. The whole idea of joining a pack wasn't something she was interested in doing anyway, because then it would drive home the fact that this was permanent. The wolf wanted to live in her fantasy world for that little bit longer, not ready to accept reality. Not yet anyway. Her gut was telling her this girl wasn't a wolf though, otherwise, she would also be lying somewhere naked in the woods, dealing with a post full moon hangover, where you're confused as hell and everything hurts. Kitty would take an alcohol-fuelled hangover over this any day, but could non-wolves join packs? No doubt the girl would give her an answer which carried a 'well obviously' undertone. At least the stranger was prepared to go and collect her clothes, despite the groan that escaped her as she did so. Kitty was always willing to help everyone around her, so she struggled to understand those who lacked that want. It went without saying, the girl was only helping her because she was a wolf. "Thank you" Kitty took her belongings from the girl, and in exchange handed her the jumper she had pressed to her bare chest for the past few minutes. “Did you lose it?” Kitty nodded, as she started to get dressed. Now who was asking the obvious questions? She hadn't realized before how cold she was until she began to pull various clothing on. How long would she have lay there before this girl woke her? “How?” The instructive line of questioning never fazed the young wolf, understanding people are naturally curious. There was something different about her face, and people wanted to know why, like when you see someone with a missing arm you wonder what happened. Her grandmother told her from day one that she would need to grow accustomed to stares, the second glances and the questions, she needed to take it all in her stride. "When I got bit by a werewolf, the fucker dragged their claw through my eye. Doctors said it was damaged beyond repair, so they removed it" She explained. Kitty had since realized that maybe she could have kept her eye if it was never removed, there was a chance it could have healed, just how her bite did. "I'm Kitty by the way, and thanks for helping me out" Now fully dressed, she pulled her boots on and got to her feet. HARMONY

━ watch me make them bow ━ ‘Wait, are you a wolf too?’
Harmony scoffed, “Do I look like one?” It wasn’t an insult to be called a wolf; she of all people knew that, and the siren wasn’t truly taking offence to it. She didn’t care what sort of assumptions the young wolf made because Harmony didn’t want to provide answers or corrections. “No. I’m their healer, so you’re pretty lucky I found you.” A smug smirk ticked her lips up at the side, though it was gone━replaced by irritation━by the time Harmony was up and grabbing the girl’s clothing.
“You’re welcome.” She mumbled in response to the girl’s thanks, not interested in the pleasantries of polite conversation. Harmony pressed for answers to her own questions instead, somewhat amused that the wolf was so willing to answer, especially since Harmony barely responded to hers.
Plucking the sweater in two fingers as if it were completely soaked in blood and dirt, Harmony took it back from the girl once offered, holding it out to her own side to keep some distance. God forbid it touched her, and she got blood from somebody that wasn’t a victim all over herself. Harmony shifted back an inch or two, slowly rising to her feet while she listened to the girl’s story.
A frown pulled at her lips; an expression not uncommon to Harmony, though it was born of something friendlier this time━distaste for the alpha that bit her, not for the girl herself. It didn’t make sense to Harmony why he’d be so cruel━she understood wolves better than most other species, even her own, and watched them give way to their animalistic side time and time again. They fought and trained one another, a true pack, family building upon family, and nobody was left behind. How an alpha could irreparably damage this girl’s eye after biting her and then leave her all alone, Harmony couldn’t begin to know. Despite her knowledge of them, she still wasn’t a wolf herself. She’d never know what it was like to change on a full moon, to give away her form with little choice in the matter, and turn into a beast. She also didn’t know first-hand the responsibilities that came with being an alpha, and the choices one had to make to keep their pack safe. But… what good was a pack if you let your wolves run off and become omegas?
“That’s fucking annoying.” She muttered, crossing her arms over her chest, though she kept one of those arms somewhat straight to continue holding the sweater away from her body. “Don’t know why he’d have to do that shit and then leave you on your own.” Harmony frowned, “...or did you choose to leave the pack?” That would’ve been stupid, wouldn’t it? They were stronger in packs━willingly venturing off with seemingly no idea on what she was doing? But teenagers were stupid that way━that was one thing Harmony knew for sure.
“Kitty?” She raised her brows, though supposed she couldn’t pass judgement. “I’m Harmony. And you’re welcome.” Again, but the siren wouldn’t complain about getting praise.
“Alright, which way are we going?” She puffed, turning to begin the charge out of the woods, expecting the girl to follow her lead. It wasn’t her responsibility to ensure the girl got out of the woods alright, but Harmony didn’t have anything better to do, and that soft spot was acting up again.

A healer? Kitty frowned slightly at the other girl’s revelation, watching her as she went to collect Kitty’s belongings. She was grateful the other female got to her feet to get clothes, allowing her to retain some dignity as she held the sweater to her chest, trying to remain modest. Once dressed she used the bottom of her black t-shirt to wipe the remaining blood from her neck, concise she couldn’t walk home with someone else blood on her skin. Kitty broke into a laugh at the other girl's comment, she nodded in agreement. “Yep, it’s annoying” Adapting to life with one eye was a challenge. Constantly missing things in her peripheral. Though she wished she had known about her healing techniques before the doctors insisted on removing her eye. Whilst her vision may have gone, she could have kept the eye, but at the time she was just a teenager attacked by a wild animal in the woods, having no idea what the bite was going to do to her. First Kit now this stranger asking about being a pack. She still didn't understand what made it so important. “I was never part of one, to begin with” She admitted, with a casual shrug. Perhaps she should find herself one of these packs everyone was talking about, but the thought didn't sit well with her. Having to rely on other people to keep her safe. The only people she trusted to do that were her family, not a bunch of werewolves she’d never met. “Nice to meet you Harmony” Kitty flashed the other girl a warm smile, though it appeared Harmony wasn't a warm type of person. Instead, she came off as abrasive, but at least she helped Kitty in her time of need. She also noticed Harmony was holding the sweater out at arm’s length, which caused Kitty to laugh lightly, “I can take that home and wash it for you” She offered, nodding at the blood-soaked sweater. Kitty’s eye scanned the woodland area. She wasn’t 100% sure which way she came in, but she wasn’t about to tell Harmony that. She was hoping eventually she would get used to the woods and automatically know her way home after waking from a full moon. “That way” She pointed straight, towards the left a little. She was almost certain that was the way she came in, trying to retrace her steps from the night before in her mind. Her memory was always foggy the morning after running around on all fours. The wolf began to walk in the direction in which she pointed. HARMONY
